Whatever it was that Dodonna had wanted to see Sarah for hadn't taken very long at all. They would have barely had the time to make introductions, maybe some small talk, before he could feel Sarah's approach just on the other side of his office door. "In." He stated the moment he felt her reach it. Good news? Bad? He honestly wasn't sure. She felt...both, or neither.

She pushed the door open, making a beeline for the single, rickety chair positioned in front of his desk. He didn't have the chance to tell her no, or warn her, before she rather dramatically positioned herself in it, resting across the armrests instead of actually sitting on it. If anyone else tried that stunt, they'd be picking themselves off of the floor, but the chair didn't make the slightest squeak or even wobble in complaint. She let loose a gusty sigh and hid her face in the cracked vinyl back.

"Can't be that bad, you weren't gone long enough." Good news was usually quickly given, bad news given in non emergency situations usually took time...at least from his experience.

"Good. Bad. Both. I don't know what to do now."

That was something he rarely heard from her and he pushed the datapad he'd been working on away. "Sarah? Okay, bad news first?"

"There's no separation, there's not good news and bad news. There's news, that is both good and bad." She was silent for a long moment and he let her chew on it. "Carth?"

"What?"

"You were wanting something earlier, when we came here. Something that you didn't think you could have...or ask me for. I'm not sure. I wasn't digging for it, but it was pretty loud. What is it?"

It was his turn to sigh and lean back in his chair. "Sarah. I love you. Of course there are things I want. And some of them are things I might not be able to have. That's just part of life. I'm a big boy. I understand that." He wasn't certain where she was going with this, it was possible that she was trying to distract herself from that news, that somehow managed to be both good and bad. She turned her head enough to be able to stare...no...glare at him out of one eye. "I...was very young when I married Morgana. I was broke. I had no real rank. I always regretted not being able to have a fairly nice wedding. And now I am not very young. I am not broke. I have real rank. But there's something else in the way. It's too risky..." It was a sad truth, but he would never risk her safety or freedom to appease an adult long regret of his.

She chuckled, a wide edge of darkness flowing underneath the sound. For a second, he wished she'd glance his way again, because that sound was all too familiar and he was used to gauging what he was dealing with by the shade of her eyes. If she was sliding back into Revan again, he'd prefer some warning. "Risky." She popped up out of the chair with ease, sitting on the edge of his desk. It was much sturdier and he felt more confident with that choice over the chair. "Life is risky. Things are not calming down like I had hoped that they would. The Force is still moving...moving in ways I didn't foresee."

"Do we need to go?" He hated having his life driven like this, but it was part and parcel of loving her. He understood that. He didn't have to like it, though...

"No. I am where I am supposed to be, right now. You are where you are supposed to be. You're on the final board list for the Cross of Gallantry and ready to go in front of the Admiralty board."

He growled at the very idea. He'd ended up on all of that because he was good at his job, not because some external force maneuvered him into it. But who was he fooling with that? Sarah was consistently being affected by the Force, and he was consistently being affected by her.

"That's not the fun part."

Ah, yes. The fun part. "Go on." She didn't seem terribly upset, just slightly off. Whatever this was, it had come as a surprise. And she didn't care for surprises.

"I'm on the final board for the Cross of Glory."

It took several moments for those words to sink in fully, and he responded by resting his forehead on his desk and wrapping his forearms around his head. That was a terrible, terrible idea. Surely someone had to realize that. Surely the Temple saw the error there. "You have got to be kidding me."

"No. That's what Dodonna wanted to share. She's already got the paperwork for it. It's pretty much a fucking done deal. You want a wedding, Captain Onasi?"

"Yes." Her point was obvious. It seemed like they were the only two who were actually trying to keep her safely out of the public awareness. Why not throw a wedding as well? "I do."

"Then we'll have one. And honestly, Carth... there aren't many people left that have any chance of recognizing me...and those that can are smart enough to keep their mouths shut."

Unfortunately, he could believe both of those. Most of those who had served alongside of her had left with her. He completely understood that now. He understood exactly why the fleets had left with her. He understood exactly why, even after Malak had taken over, there had been groups more than willing to turn and follow her again the moment she had popped up alive. And he could understand if there were left overs still in the Republic who would remain silent for her. He'd been willing to consider doing a lot of things completely out of character for him, all to keep her safe. He'd done a lot of things completely out of character for him, all to keep her safe. He wasn't the same person he'd been before he met her.

"Good. If you think it's an option, then we can start considering some ideas. You don't have any deep, secret wishes about this?"

"Uh, no. We don't marry...usually. I mean, I'm pretty sure I've been to weddings. Pretty sure I've been to military weddings, but I can tell you I've never had any unspoken hopes or dreams for a wedding I was never going to have. But we'll figure it out."

Of course they would.
