August 24th, 1998
Minerva, Harry, Ginny, Hermione, Ron, Molly and Arthur were in the Shrinking Shack. Ginny was carrying a small baby carrier , where Teddy was currently sleeping. The three of them were going to go back in time, to the year 1977. Minerva had apparently already tried the time-turner herself once and had applied for the position on their behalf. She gave them the turner and said, "Turn it exactly 21 times. After turning it 21 times, close your eyes and let the turner loose. You will feel yourself moving at a high speed, just like how you feel when flying on a broom. Once you stop feeling that, open your eyes only then. You will be 21 years in the past. Once you are there, make your way to Hogwarts. Hagrid will be waiting for you there. Your names are Harry Williams and Guinevere Taylor and both of you will be applying for the DADA professor position." Harry and Ginny nodded. Minerva then said, "Now once you spend the year there, rotate it 21 times forward to come back to now. Remember, by turning it 21 times, you will return to 1 year from now." Harry and Ginny again nodded. They then said their good byes to Hermione, Ron, Molly and Arthur. Molly gave them tight hug and told them to remember what she taught them and to take care of Teddy and themselves. Hermione also hugged them and told them to remember the rules and to make sure they don't make any changes to how events that happened. Both Harry and Ginny said they will remember the rules. Harry then placed the time-turner between them and started turning the time-turner. After reaching 21, he stopped turning it and looked at Ginny. She nodded and Harry let go of the time-turner and closed his eyes. Both he and Ginny felt the feeling Minerva had described. After few minutes, they felt the feeling go away and felt themselves standing. Harry slowly opened his eyes and saw that they were in the Shrinking Shack. But the shack looked different. It looked better, the furniture looked newer and the shack looked neater and cleaner than the shack they had just come from. The furniture still had some scratch marks and blood spilled in some corners. He looked at Ginny and asked, "Think we are in 1977?" Ginny said, "It looks like it. The Shack looks different. Let's go into Hogsmeade. We can get Daily Prophet there and check the date." Harry said, "Good idea. Is Teddy still sleeping?" Ginny looked into the carrier and saw Teddy still sleeping peacefully. She said, "Still sleeping. He will probably wake in an hour or two." Harry said, "Ok. Let's go." They both then went to Hogsmeade and went to The Three Broomsticks and grabbed 2 butterbeers. Harry asked Madam Rosmerta if she had that day's daily prophet. She gave him the newspaper and Harry checked the date. It was August 24th of 1977. After drinking their butterbeers, they made their way to Hogwarts to meet Dumbledore and get the job of DADA professors. When they reached the front gates, they found a familiar half-giant waiting for them, just as Minerva told them. Hagrid greeted them and said, "Welcome to 'ogwarts. Professor Dumbledore is in 'is office waitin' for yeh two. I will take yeh t'ere." He then led them to the gargoyle that stood in front of the staircase that led to the headmaster's office. He then said the password, which made the gargoyle move aside, revealing the staircase to the office. Harry and Ginny climbed up the staircase while Hagrid went back. He apparently had some work in the Forbidden Forest. The two young adults went up the stairs and went to the headmaster's office. They knocked the door and heard Dumbledore say, "Come in." They then pushed the door and went inside.
