Harry and Ginny were walking along the Black Lake. Teddy was in Harry's arm, looking towards the lake. He liked seeing the giant squid come out of the lake and would laugh and clap whenever he saw the squid come out. Ginny had brought a bag which contained some of Hagrid's rock cakes. She would throw one of the cakes in at the middle of the lake. The squid would then come out to eat the cake. Teddy would clap his hands on seeing the squid. Both Harry and Ginny loved seeing Teddy be so happy. Seeing him laugh and smile made their hearts fill with happiness and love. They even got Teddy to throw one, with Ginny using her wand to make the cake go to the middle.

When they were doing this, they saw Lily sitting at a distance to them. She had gotten a bit better after that moment with James. She had started coming to the classes, she had started eating her meals and was again sleeping in her room as well. But the pain of losing a loved one doesn't go away so easily and quickly, something both Harry and Ginny knew that and had experienced for themselves. They knew that at times, you needed to be alone to just grieve and mourn for your loved ones.

Ginny told Harry to look after Teddy while she talked with Lily for a while. Harry nodded and took the bag from her. Ginny then went towards Lily. She sat beside her. After a moment, she asked her, "How are you Lily?" Lily said, "I don't know professor. I don't know what I am feeling. Sometimes, it feels like maybe I am done crying and grieving for them. That I have no more tears to cry. That I am ready to move on while still remembering them and honouring them. But then something happens that just breaks me, making me cry for them all over again. Does this pain ever go away professor? While I ever stop crying, ever stop mourning and grieving them? Will I ever move on and be myself again?" Ginny said, "The pain of losing someone you love never completely goes away Lily. Part of you will always miss your parents. It will always cry for them and will always be filled with grief and pain. But you make them go away by having happy moments, by remembering the joyful and happy moments you had with them by being around other loved ones." Lily and Ginny both saw Harry with Teddy, playing with him. Harry saw them looking at them. Grabbing Teddy, he showed them to him and waved his small hand towards them. Ginny and Lily both got a small smile on their faces seeing them and waved back to them. Lily asked, "Did you also lose someone you loved?" Ginny said, "I lost my brother, Fred. I felt as you did Lily. There are still times when I just remember him and randomly cry and mourn him. But slowly, those moments reduced. And Harry's support was a huge reason for that." Lily was silent for a while, letting what Ginny told to her sink in. She then said, "Thank you professor. I feel better. Maybe someday, I too will find someone who is like professor Harry is to you." Ginny got up and said, "You may have already found him Lily." She then left to join Harry and Teddy, leaving a confused Lily behind, who saw her take Teddy from Harry and give a kiss to him. Lily then realized that Ginny meant James when she said Lily had already found her someone special. And Lily felt that perhaps Ginny was correct, for James was slowly becoming that person for her.
