Warning: I'm cross-posting this from Ao3, and I thought that since this doesn't have mod characters as tags, I'll say this here: There will be the following ships in the story:
Whitty/Carol
Sunday/Pico
Ruv/Sarvente
Jasmine/Nova
The writing will get better, I swear lol
Right after the final bell of the day rang, Boyfriend went immediately to the front doors of the school, ready to go to his dorm and finally meet his new roommate, and most likely hang out with Girlfriend. Right before he could step out into the sunlight, Boyfriend could feel someone grab the back of his shirt.
"Hey! Not Cool, dude! Put me down!" He whined, kicking his legs like a baby. He kicked the person in the stomach multiple times. "Ouch." The person carrying him said, turning Boyfriend to face him. Boyfriend gulped when he saw that it was Daddy Dearest. "Oh. Uh, hey..." He said, giving a little wave, beginning to sweat a little bit. He curled up into a fetal position.
"Where do you think you're going? Don't tell me you forgot that Garcello gave you three weeks' detention." Daddy Dearest said, shaking his head. "Let's head over there now." DD and Boyfriend made their way over to the Detention Center, with Daddy Dearest making sure to let Boyfriend hit every water fountain on the way.
When they finally made it, Daddy Dearest let Boyfriend fall to the ground.
"Ugh, finally! What took so damn long!?" He asked, grunting as he stood up. "There's no reason there should be that many water fountains here." Daddy Dearest let out a laugh, looking down at Boyfriend.
"Honestly? I went in circles for a little bit. But we're here now, so I don't know what the hell you're waiting for. Get in there," He said, crossing his arms. Boyfriend dusted himself off and adjusted his hat.
"Ugh. Of course. How long is detention again?" He asked, hoping it was at most 30 minutes.
"You have to stay until..." Daddy Dearest checked his watch. It was about 4:00. He held the pose longer than necessary to make Boyfriend wait. "...Until I come and get you. Who knows how long that could be?" He said, grinning evilly.
"Pfft. That's easy. I can do this all day." Boyfriend said. He crossed his arms confidently, feeling like Captain America once more. DD nodded, going silent in thought for a moment.
"In that case, you have to stay until tomorrow morning." He said, glaring down at Boyfriend. Boyfriend's confident expression fell.
"Oh. Um, I changed my mind. I can't do this all day." He said, looking down at the ground. DD chuckled loudly.
"Fine, 2 hours then. Unless you piss me off more, then it'll actually be until tomorrow morning." He said, opening the door to the Detention Center. "Have Fun." DD picked up Boyfriend once more, and tossed Boyfriend into the room, shutting the door behind him.
The Detention Center, run by Spirit, was a normal classroom, but the only difference was that there were no windows. Boyfriend stood up, dusted himself off, and looked at the group of people in the Detention Center, wondering what they did to get detention. Tabi (for threatening to blow up Daddy Dearest's favorite restaurant), Agoti (for doing push-ups with his tongue), Pico (for having a gun that looked better than Daddy Dearest's) Carol(for talking about Hamilton, which Mommy Mearest doesn't like), Sarvente (for doing the Updog joke on Daddy Dearest), and Whitty (for eating everything in the cafeteria). The only people who seemed annoyed were Carol, Sarvente, and Spirit. Boyfriend didn't know where to sit, so he took a seat near Tabi and Agoti. Spirit groaned.
"ANOTHER one? Why can't you guys stay out of trouble?" Spirit asked, rolling his eyes. "Take a seat that's not in the front row, and not in front of me. I'd rather not look at anyone longer than I have to."
"Um, sorry about earlier." Boyfriend said to Tabi, who was leaning back in his chair, staring at the wall opposite of him. Boyfriend glanced to see what it was and saw that the entire wall had Daddy Dearest posters on it.
"No talking. Or talk all you want. I really don't give a shit." Spirit said, sort of just... floating behind a desk. Tabi looked over at Boyfriend.
"It's cool. That's not even the worst fight I've been in. It was a misunderstanding." He said, shrugging. "I will warn you, though. Your girlfriend isn't who she says she is." He looked down. beginning to shake, before Agoti spoke up.
"Yeah, right. It's her dad that's the asshole. Tabi's just still pissed about how things ended between him and your girl. It's pretty fucked up." He said, pulling out his phone and putting an earbud in his ear.
"You know what? I lied. I do give a shit. Shut the fuck up." Spirit said, floating around. Boyfriend groaned, getting back in his seat. Boyfriend got bored and began to eavesdrop on a conversation that Sarvente was having on the phone, presumably with Ruv.
"Was that the little blue-haired rapper I heard talking?" Ruv said with a deadpan tone. "Why's he in detention?' Some of the students in detention laughed, looking at Boyfriend. He pouted and crossed his arms.
"I'm... average height." He whined, sinking into his chair, trying his best to look angry. Agoti laughed.
"Face it, dude. You're short." He said, looking down at him.
"Or I guess just do whatever you want. I guess you don't have to listen to me." Spirit said, with a sarcastic tone. "It's not like I'm in charge or anything."
"I wasn't gonna do that anyways!"
"Shut up, Pico, or I'm gonna possess you and use your gun."
Pico did shut up, but only because he didn't want Spirit to play with his gun. Boyfriend cleared his throat, trying to ignore his dumb ex.
"Um, if you're still upset about Girlfriend, I could try to help you with a rebound. My ex is single, and sort of lonely." He said. Pico looked up with a disgusted look on his face.
"Woah woah, I don't want to date that guy! I'm not even gay!" The Bisexual teen complained. Boyfriend facepalmed.
"No, you're not. You're half-gay, you dumbass! I wasn't even talking about you! I was talking about Ayana." Agoti looked up and took his earbud out.
"Ayana? She's cool. But... hmm...Yeah, I can kinda see them dating." He said. Tabi shook his head.
"I don't even know her. Plus, I'm not taking dating advice from someone I just fought." He said, glancing at Boyfriend, then at Whitty, who was slowly moving his seat over to the group.
"Wha... Nevermind. But anyways, I'm not looking to date anyone anyways." Boyfriend and Agoti both groaned.
"Come on, do it for me." Boyfriend said, making puppy dog eyes.
"Okay, you're gonna have to stop doing that," Spirit said, trying his hardest not to listen to that silly conversation. "It's making me uncomfortable." Whitty finally went up to the group, sitting behind Boyfriend.
"I second that. BUT, I couldn't help but overhear, and I would like your help." The bomb said. Agoti looked over at him, raising an eyebrow.
"YOU want to go out with Ayana?" He asked, confused. Tabi laughed softly. Whitty groaned and shook his head.
"No, that's not what I meant. I meant that..." He trailed off, glancing around the room. He began to whisper. "I need your help setting me up with someone." Tabi laughed softly.
"Aw, that's very sweet of you." He said sarcastically. Agoti laughed and Whitty rolled his eyes. Boyfriend was thinking about how good he was going to feel when he would lay in bed that night to sleep, before looking up at Whitty.
"You want me to be a matchmaker? I mean... I guess I could try. Who do you even like, anyway?" Boyfriend asked, beginning to get curious about who it was that he was going to matchmake Whitty with. Whitty sighed.
"I kinda, uh, have a little crush on..." He began to whisper once more, but quieter. "Carol." Tabi and Agoti both laughed quietly.
"Awwwww that's soooo sweet. It also makes a lotta sense, considering how you've been acting around her." Agoti said. "Why haven't you just asked her out yourself?" He turned to glance at Carol. She didn't seem to hear their conversation, which Whitty was thankful for. The bomb rolled his eyes.
"You've seen how I get around her. I just... need someone else to do it for me." He whispered, blushing as he looked over to Carol, then to Boyfriend. "So, you want to try and do it for me?" Boyfriend shrugged.
"I mean... I guess. Oh, wait! She's friends with Girlfriend, so maybe we could try to set up a blind date or something. Or maybe a double date, who knows?" He said, thinking about Girlfriend.
"Sounds cool. Can I come?" Agoti asked in a joking way. Boyfriend rolled his eyes.
"If you can find yourself a date, you can go instead of me. Or bring Tabi. I'd rather not be stuck with him acting weird around Carol."
"It was Whitty's turn to roll his eyes. "Ha ha ha, very funny. You will try to set up something though, right?" He asked, making sure Carol couldn't hear him.
"Come on, at least try to talk to her more before Boyfriend does anything," Tabi said, crossing his arms. "So that if he does get you a date, you won't be as awkward and weird. And awkward." Whitty groaned, putting his head back.
"Fine. I'll try. Not right now, though. Also, you didn't have to say awkward twice." He said, as Agoti laughed.
"Why not now? It's a perfect time!"
"It's 'cause if I embarrass myself, I won't be able to leave. Duh."
"Ummm, Mr... Ghost?" Boyfriend said, turning to Spirit.
"Ugh. Seriously? Close enough, I guess. What do you want?" Spirit deadpanned, wanting to desperately leave.
"How long has it been since my detention started?" Boyfriend asked, hoping it was almost over. Spirit looked at the nearest clock.
"About... 10 minutes." He said, a small smile appearing on his mouth. Boyfriend had to hide his face so that the others wouldn't see him crying like a baby.
"Oh, quit crying. It could be worse. My assistant could be here instead of me." Spirit shuddered, thinking of his assistant, Senpai. "Ugh. He's so annoying. I hate my life."
*
After an agonizing hour and 50 minutes of detention, Boyfriend finally left the school to hang out with Girlfriend. Before he could fully leave, Whitty ran up to him.
"Hey, wait up!" He said. Boyfriend groaned, just wanting to leave already. "So you will ask your girl to set up something, right?" He asked, having to hurt his neck to look down at Boyfriend.
"Yeah yeah, I already told you like a hundred times!" He said. "I'll let you know tomorrow because I know that it won't be today. Now can I please leave?" Boyfriend said, wanting nothing more than to go to his dorm. Whitty rolled his eyes and began to go to his dorm as well.
"Fine. You better tell me!"
When he finally reached his room, he opened the door, excited to see who his roommate was. The room was completely dark, so he turned the light on. His face fell a little, but he knew it could've been worse.
"Oh. Hey." Ruv said, laying down on the bottom bunk, with his hat on a nightstand beside him. "So you're my roommate, huh?" Boyfriend nodded, looking around the room.
"I guess so. I think it can be fun! We could watch TV, play video games, and all that." He said, feeling optimistic.
"Yeah, I don't know about all that." The Russian said, looking away from Boyfriend. Boyfriend sighed, tossed his stuff onto the top bunk, and looked around. There were two computers, two closets, one bathroom, and one TV, all pretty spread out from each other.
"What's your name again? Room? Groove?"
"Ruv."
"Hey, I was pretty damn close with Groove. But whatever. I'm Boyfriend."
"Sarvente says your name smells like Updog."
"Updog? What's UpDog?"
Ruv went silent for a moment, before chuckling quietly. He reached over and unplugged his headphones from his phone. Sarvente could be heard giggling softly. Boyfriend looked oblivious, the joke completely going over his head.
"No, seriously. What is UpDog?" Sarvente giggled even louder.
"I'm sorry, I'm sorry. It's just too good." She said as Ruv turned the phone so that she could see Boyfriend. "That's what you get for burning down the funeral I worked so hard for! Excuse my French." Boyfriend sighed, not even wanting to talk about it. Ruv turned the phone back and plugged his headphones back in.
"You should apologize next time. Also, turn the light back off,"" Ruv said. Sarvente yelling in agreeance could barely be heard from his headphones. Boyfriend took this as an opportunity to finally talk to Girlfriend for the first time today, right after he flicked the light switch back off. He didn't get to see her at lunch, since he was too busy cleaning up juice that Skid and Pump had spilled when Boyfriend wasn't even around. It seemed to Boyfriend that Girlfriend's dad did not like him. It wouldn't stop him from getting quality time with her, however. Soon after the first ring, Girlfriend's face popped onto Boyfriend's phone. She smiled brightly.
"Hi!" She said happily, waving at her phone. Boyfriend laughed. "I've missed you all day! Boyfriend nodded, with a sigh.
"Yeah, it's been hard without you. It's weird that we never saw each other once this whole day." He said, stroking his chin, as if in thought. Girlfriend giggled once more.
"Yeah, you can blame that on my dad. He personally made it so that you and me never have any classes together." She said. "Which is a bit overkill, in my opinion." Boyfriend sighed, taking off his hat and putting it beside him.
"So, how was your day?" He asked, putting the phone beside him so he didn't have to hold it. He turned to lay on his side so he could still see Girlfriend. She than began to talk about her entire day in excruciating detail, but Boyfriend didn't mind. He enjoyed talking with her, even if he didn't get a chance to talk. Finally, Boyfriend remembered what Whitty wanted him to do.
"Oh wait! Girlfriend, you know Carol, right?" He asked, sitting up. Girlfriend rolled her eyes with a laugh.
"Of course I do. She's my best friend, silly. Plus, she's also my roommate." She turned her phone to show Carol laying on her bed with a study book. She waved to the camera.
"Hey, Boyfriend!" Carol yelled. Girlfriend turned it back to herself.
"Why are you asking, anyway?" Boyfriend quickly looked under Ruv's bunk to make sure he wasn't listening. He was not, and shooed Boyfriend away.
"Is Carol listening?" He asked Girlfriend as he got comfortable in his bunk once more. Girlfriend moves her hair to show that she has headphones in.
"Nope. Why? Is something wrong?" She asked, looking a little worried. Boyfriend chuckled.
"No no, it's not like that. It's that my, uh, friend is kinda into her and was wondering if we could set up a double date with her." He explained. Girlfriend's eyes widened.
"Awwwww, that's adorable~," She said, laughing quietly so that Carol wouldn't hear. "Which friend is it?" Boyfriend thought for a moment, wondering if Girlfriend would yell his name out loud or not.
"You know that tall bomb guy?"
Girlfriend's eyes widened yet again. "Ohhhh, that makes sense." She said. "He's been crushing on her for a while now." Boyfriend laughed.
"How did it happen, anyways? I've been wondering that ever since he asked me about the double date." Girlfriend sat in silence for a moment, trying to remember. She finally spoke after about a minute.
"I think... It was the first time they talked. It was at the cafeteria, Whitty has finished all of his food. He went up to Carol and asked her if she was going to finish her food, all awkward and stuff, and she gave it to him." Boyfriend raised an eyebrow.
"What, that's it? That's the whole story? The key to Whitty's heart is in his stomach, I guess." Girlfriend laughed.
"Yeah, I guess so. But I think it's adorable, anyways! I'll ask Carol if she wants to set something up." Boyfriend nodded.
"I'll let him know tomorrow, I guess. We're totally gonna be friends." He said, giving Girlfriend a thumbs-up.
*
When Boyfriend showed up at school the next day to see Tabi and Agoti waiting at Boyfriend's locker. Agoti noticed him first, slightly nodding his head when he saw him.
"What's up? Did Carol agree to anything?" He asked, leaning against the wall. "Wait, before you say, I think she said no."Agoti looked to Tabi. Tabi nodded.
"Yeah, there's no way in hell she feels the same about Whitty. No offense to him, but he's so awkward with her." Boyfriend laughed, opening his locker.
"Well, shockingly, she did agree to a double date with me and Girlfriend. She also doesn't know that it's Whitty." He said, looking to see their reaction. Agoti's eyes widened, and Tabi's invisible jaw dropped.
"No fucking way. She actually agreed to it?" Agoti said, feeling proud of Whitty. "When is it?" Boyfriend thought for a moment, pulling out his phone to check the texts between him and Girlfriend.
"It's... today, at 7:30." He said, putting his phone back into his pocket.
"You'd better tell Whitty, then. He's probably gonna spend the entire day deciding what he wants to wear." Tabi laughed. "You actually don't mind if we go and eavesdrop to see what happens, do you?" Boyfriend thought for another moment.
"Nope, it's a great idea! The more, the merrier. Don't bring any explosives, though. I hear you like doing stuff like that." Tabi groaned but nodded.
"Yeah, yeah, whatever." He said as he and Agoti began to head to class.
"Or, would it be more exciting if I brought some? You know, get the adrenaline pumping for everyone? Agoti told me that it was a cool idea."
"I did NOT, but I wouldn't mind a little adventure."
"What kind of explosives are we talking about here?"
"Oh my god! When will detention end???" Boyfriend complained, sweating, anxiously waiting for it to end, so he could go get ready for the double date. Whitty was beside him, behaving more nervously, and somehow sweating more. Carol wasn't at detention today (She learned her lesson about talking about Adam Sandler), so he could express his frustrations openly. Spirit rolled his eyes from his desk at the front of the room.
"It ends in like, 30 minutes. Just be glad, my assistant here is only able to annoy me for 30 more minutes." Spirit said, turning to Senpai, who somehow had sparkles around him. He looked to Spirit and smiled. Spirit looked away from the blinding flash. "Could you be any more pretentious?" Spirit commented, annoyed. Senpai shrugged.
"I don't know what you're talking about. I'm as charming as I seem to be!" He said, putting his arm around Spirit. Spirit moved away, letting Senpai's arm fall. "I'm surprised you don't know that yet," Senpai added. Spirit rolled his eyes, going to the opposite side of the desk from Senpai. "I'm also as thoughtful, caring, generous, confident, skilled, and of course... Honest!" Spirit audibly cringed.
Spirit groaned. "When will detention end?" He complained, checking the time to see that only 2 minutes have gone by. He got down to lie on the floor, a tear falling down his face. Pico, Tabi, and Agoti couldn't help but laugh.
"Oh, come on. He's not even that bad." Pico said, sitting near the front this time. "He's... tolerable." The ginger looked toward Senpai. He gave a thumbs-up and another blinding smile. Boyfriend and Whitty didn't even care, they were still nervous about the date. Boyfriend had his leg bouncing, while Whitty was quickly tapping his finger on the desk.
Tabi groaned. "Could you stop tapping the desk so damn loud? It's annoying!" He exclaimed, looking at Whitty. "Just... bounce your leg like Boyfriend is." Whitty nodded, beginning to do as Boyfriend was. The only problem is that Whitty was way taller, so his knee was banging against the desk, way louder than his finger.
Agoti rolled his eyes. "God dammit, Tabi. You made it worse!" He said, cringing. "How about just stop being nervous, pussy?" Tabi and Agoti laughed to themselves.
"Hey, shut up! I'm nervous and excited at the same time!" Whitty said in defense, trying and failing to stop his leg from bouncing. "The double date is today, at Tankman's restaurant."
Senpai looked up at the group. "Ohhh, Tankman! He doesn't seem like the type to open a restaurant as a second job." He said. "I bet he's a great owner!" Spirit could be heard groaning from his spot on the floor.
"Don't expect the food to be good. First of all, it's Tankman. Come on. Second, I should know. I'm a waiter there." Pico said, laughing to himself. Boyfriend stopped bouncing his leg and turned to look at his ex.
"No way, for real?" The rapper asked. Pico nodded. "Well, I'll be very unlucky if we get you as our waiter." Boyfriend said, putting his head down on his desk.
"We can still watch you guys from a distance, right?" Agoti asked, wanting to see how the date went. "It'll be fun to watch you bomb with Carol.
Whitty groaned at the stupid pun... "Sure, why not? Let everybody see me fail miserably." He said, sarcastically. Tabi and Agoti nodded to each other, not understanding that he was being sarcastic. Boyfriend sighed, pretending that he knew it was sarcasm as well.
Senpai smiled brightly. Spirit was still unlucky enough to be blinded by it, even though he was facedown on the ground. "Oo! Can me and Spirit go, too?"
"No." Whitty and Spirit said simultaneously.
"This is gonna be great." Boyfriend said to himself. "A double date with a bomb, and two random guys. This should be fun." His tone sounded sarcastic, but in his head, he was thinking about how he totally brought a guy back from the dead, not even thinking about the date.
*
Boyfriend quickly ran to his dorm room at around 6:30, opened the door, and ran into the closet, while Ruv simply lay on his bed, with a textbook on his lap and his phone in his hands.
"Why are you in such a hurry?" He asked although he didn't actually care. Boyfriend went through his closet and found a nice black collared shirt with blue jeans. He did debate on whether he should wear his hat, and decided that he obviously should. It was part of his style, after all. He ran into the bathroom.
"I got a date!" He yelled to Ruv. He nodded but still didn't really care.
"Good luck." He deadpanned. "Not really. Bad luck, in fact."
"Thanks for the support!" Boyfriend, once again not hearing the sarcasm.
*
Whitty was having a worse time, however. All he had found to wear so far was a pair of white slacks, and nothing else. His roommates, Skid and Pump, were also no help whatsoever. "Hey, Bomb!" Pump asked, running up to Whitty as he was digging through his closet. Whitty didn't bother to look back at the two kids.
"Do you wanna see the dance me and Skid came up with?" He asked with confidence that Whitty would absolutely love it. Whitty sighed, not wanting to yell at a little kid that he did not want to see the dance.
"Um... Is it the same dance you've been showing me since I got here?" He asked, finally finding his white suit. "Because if it is, I don't think I have time, little buddy." Pump sighed. He walked over to Skid, and they started to do the Spooky Dance anyways. Whitty walked past them to the bathroom where he began to get dressed.
"Okay okay, it's 6:50... I should have time..." He said to himself. He quickly got on his clothes and made sure to style his fuse, before Skid knocked on the door.
"Whitty! Pump needs to use the bathroom!"
Whitty groaned. "How!? He just went!" He yelled back, as the boys busted in. Whitty yelped, jumping back a bit.
"Well, it's obviously because he got excited from our Spooky Dance!" They began to dance once more.
"I thought he had to use the bathroom!" The boys then remembered.
"Oh yeah, you're right." Skid and Whitty walked out of the bathroom so Pump could do his business. Once they were out, Whitty closed the door and went to a mirror.
"How do I look?" Whitty asked the boy, as he looked at himself in his custom-made mirror.
"You look like... a walking, talking, very tall bomb!" Skid said, very prideful of his way with words.
"Gee, thanks," Whitty said, walking to his door, grabbing his phone, and wallet, and walking out of the room.
*
"Come on, Girlfriend! Just tell me who my date is gonna be!" Carol said playfully as she did her hair. She had put on her white dress and even put on some nice jewelry. "At least tell me if it's one of your friends or one of... Boyfriend's friends?" She playfully shuddered. Girlfriend rolled her eyes as she giggled.
"Fine. I'm sorry to tell you, but it's a friend of Boyfriend's." She said, miming a tear going down her cheek. Carol pretended to cry as well. The two girls laughed with each other.
"Aw, man. How did he even make friends so fast? Especially after what happened with the funeral and all that..." Carol cringed, thinking back at how Boyfriend burned down the entire funeral. Girlfriend shrugged, coming out of the bathroom to gather her things.
"Who knows? He kind of just does whatever he wants, and it usually works out." She said. "And I support him fully, 100%" Carol giggled, as they began to walk out of the dorm building.
"Where are they at? Don't we need to be there at 7:30?" Carol asked as they stand outside, waiting for Boyfriend to show up and take them to Tankman's.
Girlfriend groaned as she put on a cardigan. "Who knows? He's a last-minute kind of guy." Carol laughed, looking around, to see if Boyfriend was pulling up. After what seemed like forever, Boyfriend's car could be seen hastily pulling up to the curb the two girls were standing on. Boyfriend got out of the car, out of breath.
"I'm here! Not to worry, we won't be late." He said, opening the door for Girlfriend and Carol as if he was a chauffeur. The two girls got in, noticing there was no one else in the car.
"Where's Carol's date?" Girlfriend asked as she got into the passenger's seat, with Carol behind her.
"Ah, that's a surprise for when we get there. He's waiting for us." Boyfriend said, getting into the driver's seat.
Whitty was, in fact, waiting for them at Tankman's. He had been there since about 7:05, and it was now 7:20. "They better not be late..." The bomb thought to himself, looking around the restaurant. He began to get nervous, now that he was alone with his thoughts. He began to cover every possible scenario in his head, not including the good ones. He figured that he could say something stupid, and Carol would leave. Or he would be too awkward, and Carol would leave. Or he would seem too arrogant, and Carol would leave.
Maybe it was time to go take a quick breather.
He stood up from his seat, nearly hitting his head on the chandelier above his head. He quickly walked into the bathroom to calm down. He stood at the sink, looking at himself in the mirror to make sure he still looked good. He took a deep breath, ready to go out once more before someone came out of the stall. Whitty yelped and jumped, turning around to see who it was. HE saw the owner of the restaurant and part-time teacher at Funkin' High: Tankman.
"Oh. Hey. You scared me." Whitty said with a chuckle. "How's uh, business?" He asked.
"Yeah yeah, it's good and whatever. Could you move the hell over so I can wash my hands?" Tankman said with an annoyed tone of voice. Whitty moved over to where he could wash his hands. "You know what? I actually don't need to, it's fine. What are you doing here, anyway?" He asked, wiping his hands on his shirt. Whitty, disgusted, decided to hope that Tankman wasn't a chef and move on.
"Um, I'm on a double date, if you must know," Whitty confessed reluctantly.
Tankman smirked and laughed. "Ohhhhh... and I see you decided to come to my place. As you should since I do so much hard work to make it good." He said although it wasn't even him who made the restaurant nice. It was Daddy Dearest who owned it.
"Whose the unlucky lady?" Tankman asked with a snicker. Whitty rolled his eyes, hoping that this conversation didn't go on for much longer. He looked away for a moment, deciding whether or not he should tell him. He might as well, he figured that it was better than waiting.
"It's a, uh, double date with Boyfriend, Girlfriend, and... Carol." He replied, seeing Tankman chuckle. "What? What's so funny?" Whitty asked, crossing his arms, doing his best to be intimidating. His attempts seemed to fail since Tankman was still chuckling. He dropped the act rather quickly.
"I'm sorry, but I didn't know you had a hard-on for Carol-"
"Oh, come on!-"
"-but let me give you some advice."
Whitty rolled his eyes. Advice? From Tankman? This should be good. Whitty crossed his arms once more, curious to see what he would say.
"One: Don't do anything stupid. Very basic. I'm sure even your mom has figured that out by now. Heh. Two: No sex on the first date. Very bad idea. Trust me on that one, kid, even though I'm a virgin. Three... shit, what was three? Oh yeah! Be confident! Be funny! All that dumb shit. It could help if you be yourself, but... I've had you in class, and kid... no one wants you to be yourself." Tankman said, rather soulfully, as if he had just given some great advice. Whitty stood, dumbfounded by what he just heard.
"That's the most basic advice I've ever heard! I'm out. Wish my luck! And wash your hands!" Whitty then got out of that very strange conversation by quickly leaving the bathroom.
"Hey! It's basic because it works!" Tankman yelled, leaving the bathroom as well, and going to the kitchen. Whitty shuddered, hoping he didn't go to cook. He looked towards the table, to see that the rest of the group was there. Carol had her back to him, which he was sort of thankful for. He figured it would seem weird if Carol's first sight of him on the date was him coming out of the bathroom with Tankman. Boyfriend noticed Whitty and motioned for him to come to the table. Whitty took a deep breath.
"Let's do this..." He whispered to himself as he went to sit down beside Carol.
Carol smiled brightly when she saw that her surprise date was Whitty. "Oh! It's Whitty!" She exclaimed as Whitty sat down next to her. "I should've guessed since... I don't know actually. I had no idea. " Whitty laughed softly. It was time that he made a little joke.
"Exactly. I don't know how he managed to talk me into a blind double date, but here we are," The bomb said, looking over at Boyfriend, hoping that he understood that Whitty was playing the 'I didn't know you were going to be my date' card. Boyfriend looked like he was about to say something idiotic, but, based on the look Whitty was giving, he decided against it. Instead, he shrugged.
"I have a way with words, I guess." Boyfriend said, snickering softly.
Carol giggled. "Well, we're here now, so we might as well have fun." She shrugged. She leaned back in her seat slightly to get comfortable as she looked at Whitty.
Whitty nodded. "Agreed." He replied. They turned to see that Boyfriend and Girlfriend were talking about a song that Girlfriend was working on.
"Oh! Whitty, I heard your feature on Agoti's song." Girlfriend said. Whitty anticipated her reaction, hoping that Girlfriend would speak highly of it so that Carol would be impressed. "It was pretty badass."
Whitty exhaled with relief, not realizing that he was holding his breath. Carol laughed. "Yeah, you guys should make a whole album. THAT would be pretty badass." She said, smiling at Whitty. He put up his hands.
"You gotta talk to him for that one. I'd be up for it, though. But I bet out of anyone, he'd make an album with Tabi." He said. Whitty suddenly remembered what he had told Agoti and Tabi, and began to get nervous once more. He began to look around the restaurant, which was pretty simple. He was, after all, the tallest person(?) there.

"You sure that this is the place?" Tabi said as he and Agoti stood outside Tankman's. "Because if it is, I'm sure they're not having a good time."
Agoti laughed to himself, putting his hands in his hoodie pockets. "Yeah, especially if Tankman is the cook. Does he even wash his hands?" He asked, looking through the window to see if they could see the Double Date from outside. All that could be seen was the back of Whitty's head, and everything else was blocked from view by the seats.
"Oh look. There's Whitty. Heh, it looks like he's sitting alone." Tabi said, pointing to where Whitty's shoulders and head could be seen, The two laughed. "I thought he said Carol agreed?" Tabi asked. Agoti shrugged.
Agoti and Tabi made their way inside and sat down at a table where they could see what the group was doing. "Hey, look! There actually talking and enjoying themselves!" Agoti said, gasping in an exaggerated way. "But for real, I expected Whitty to be freaking out, all sweaty and stuff." Tabi looked to see that Whitty was, in fact, not sweating, and seemed to be having a pleasant conversation with Carol, Girlfriend, and Boyfriend. Especially Carol.
"Huh. I wasn't expecting that." Tabi said. "Man, I really want to ruin this date right now," Tabi grumbled the last part, although Agoti still hear. He patted Tabi's shoulder, smirking.
"Me too. But, out of respect for Carol, I won't." He sighed, as Pico walked up to them. He seemed pissed off, but it was most likely because he was working.
"Do you guys want to eat anything?" He asked, clearly exasperated. The last thing he wanted was to be at his job, especially when he had to serve people that he knew, and that he wasn't particularly fond of.
"Oh, come on! That's no way to treat customers." Agoti said, pretending to be sad. "Here, you can try again. Out of the kindness of my heart." Pico looked about ready to pull out his gun, but he decided not to in a public place.
The ginger took a breath. "Hello! Would you like to order something?" He asked, feigning enthusiasm. His face was becoming slightly red. Tabi chuckled to himself.
"No, actually we don't want to order anything."
"Die."
"But wait! Before that, you wanna go bother that Double Date over there?" Tabi asked, pointing to the Double Date group. Agoti flashed an evil grin.
Pico smirked. "Okay, I might have to hold off on being annoyed, because that's a good idea. Also, how is Whitty actually doing well? Look, Carol's blushing right now." He said, secretly putting his gun back in his pocket. Tabi and Agoti looked over at Whitty somehow making Carol blush, then looked at each other.
"Well shit. I gotta say, I'm proud." Agoti said, nodding his head with pride. "You should ruin it anyways."

Whitty swallowed and took a deep breath. He was going to make a move with Carol. He hadn't said anything the entire dinner, but he decided it was time for that.
"Hey, I didn't say this earlier, but you look pretty tonight," The bomb said to Carol. Boyfriend and Girlfriend stopped their conversation to giggle to themselves quietly. Carol blushed deeply, tucking her hair behind her ear.
"You look pretty, too." She laughed, looking away for a moment, before looking back. They held eye contact for a moment. Whitty was the first to break it.
"So..." He said, now feeling a little awkward. Carol laughed.
"How come you never asked me on a date before?" She asked him. Whitty thought for a moment, before shrugging. He had to choose his words carefully here.
"I, uh, was always scared that you would decline, you know?" He said. "I regret not asking sooner, because hanging out with you is pretty fun" Carol laughed softly to herself.
Boyfriend and Girlfriend began to get giddy. "You two are so adorable!" Girlfriend said with a laugh. "Oh look, here comes the waiter." She totally ruined the little moment, because now Whitty was getting more excited than nervous. But only for food.
Girlfriend seemed oblivious to the fact that the waiter was one of Boyfriend's exes. Whitty and Boyfriend, however, did notice and shot glances at each other. Pico walked up to the table, seeming actually enthusiastic. Boyfriend knew that when Pico was enthusiastic, it usually didn't end well.
"Well, what do we have here? My ex, on a double date. That's nice. NOT." Pico said, shaking his head, then looking right at Boyfriend. "It's him, by the way." He extended his finger to point at Boyfriend's forehead. Girlfriend scoffed, appearing offended.
"You didn't tell me he was your ex!" She exclaimed. Boyfriend scoffed this time.
"Yes, I did! It was one of the first things I ever said to you!"
"Oh. Well, I don't remember that!"
"Wow. You don't remember when we first met? I'm offended."
"That's not what I meant!"
"Maybe, but I'm still offended!"
PIco snickered, sat down menus in front of the four, and went back to Tabi and Agoti. Boyfriend and Girlfriend continued to argue, while Whitty and Carol attempted to change the subject.
"Um, how's the music business?" Carol asked quickly, hoping to avoid the situation escalating.
"It's bad! My dad won't let me make anything, because he doesn't want me to be better!"
"Then why are you even at the school?" Boyfriend asked, curiously. "You know, if you can't even make music..."
Whitty and Carol both got silent, looking at each other with worried looks. NOW Girlfriend was offended.
"Um, we have... to go somewhere," Whitty said, standing up and exiting the booth.
"Yes, that's right," Carol said, going along with Whitty. "Somewhere to go for a moment,"
Boyfriend scoffed. "Y-You can't just leave me here!" He said, looking a bit worried now, while Girlfriend had a bit of red in her eyes.
"You bet your ass we can," Carol said as she and Whitty went to stand outside, softly laughing to themselves.
"Good idea, by the way," Carol mentioned as the two stood outside, waiting for Girlfriend to finish scolding Boyfriend. "I already know that she'll talk some sense into Boyfriend." Whitty laughed softly, leaning against a window with his hands in his pockets.
"Yeah, I know how her parents are, I have to assume that she can get scary when she needs to." He laughed as a few cars drove by. "I wonder if her dad will get mad at him for taking his daughter out to dinner. Or us for being here with them, and not saying anything."
The two laughed together once more, enjoying each other's company. They went silent for a moment.
Carol looked up at Whitty. "Were you actually afraid of me rejecting you?" She asked him, remembering what he had said at the table. She stood for a moment while Whitty thought, patiently waiting for his response.
Whitty sighed softly, He nodded his head as he stared at the ground. "...Yeah... I was always worried that you would say no. That you would decline because I have a bomb for my head or something. Or even just because you thought I was weird." He confessed. "But, it was always me overthinking. Even though we only talked a few times, I did feel a little nervous each time. It's that you have such a huge presence, it was very intimidating." He chuckled to himself at the comment he added.
Carol laughed as well. "Well, you're right about me being intimidating. Now I know that I might even be able to intimidate Daddy Dearest himself. That'd be something." She said, looking away from Whitty. "But... I sometimes wished you would come to talk to me. I don't know, but after that time you asked me for food... It was pretty cute..." Carol giggled, thinking about the first time they properly met.
"That's good, actually. I was planning on asking for your food tonight, too." The bomb said, laughing once more. The two enjoyed each other's company in silence for a moment longer, watching people and vehicles pass by.
Whitty cleared his throat. "Do you think Girlfriend taught Boyfriend a lesson by now?" He asked, rubbing the back of his neck. He looked down at Carol.
She shrugged. "It wouldn't hurt to check." The two walked back into the restaurant. Boyfriend and Girlfriend were making out, but quickly stopped when they saw Whitty and Carol approaching.
Girlfriend coughed. "We worked it out." She said, a big blush appearing on her face. Whitty and Carol laughed.
*
"Wow, that seemed to ruin things. And look, he even got Whitty and Carol to leave. What did you even say?" Agoti asked, sipping from a drink that he ordered from another waiter, just to piss off PIco. Pico chose to ignore it, or he would get mad about it.
"All I had to do was mention that I used to date Boyfriend, and that was it." He said, shrugging. "It was pretty funny, actually. Anyway, I'm out because my shift ends in..." He checked a nearby clock. "2 minutes." That was a lie. His shift actually ended in 30 minutes, but Pico just wanted to leave.
With that, Pico left the area after successfully starting a fight between Boyfriend and Girlfriend. Carol and Whitty sat down in their previous spots.
"Um... We should... order food." Girlfriend said, totally improvising that entire sentence.
Whitty sighed with relief, his stomach grumbling loudly."Ugh, now we're talking! I've been waiting for this part. Boyfriend, you're paying, right?" He asked, wanting to eat everything on the menu.
Boyfriend nodded. "Yup. For everything." He said through gritted teeth.
Soon after, Boyfriend had to set a price limit for Whitty, since he wanted to order everything off of the menu. Whitty groaned, sitting back in his seat. He turned to Carol.
"So, you're working on an album, right?" He asked, hoping to distract himself from hunger while their food was being prepared.
Carol nodded. "Yup! I don't have a title for it yet... the working title is 'Carol, My Beloved,'" She said, then taking a sip from a drink. "I'm almost done with the last few songs. Hmmm...I should let you feature in one... Oh! It could be a duet!"
Whitty laughed. "You want to? I'm down for a duet. It can be called...Um... Whitroll!" Whitty suggested, referring to one of Carol's previous songs.
She laughed. "Perfect!" Boyfriend and Girlfriend whispered to each other, still like elementary schoolers.
After they ate, the group stood, waiting for Boyfriend to find his car. Agoti and Tabi walked up to the group, very obviously pretending to be surprised to see them there. "What??? Whitty??? Oh my god!!! I didn't know you would be here!" Agoti said, dramatically gasping. "And you're with Carol???? You two look cute together!!!!" Carol and Whitty both glanced at each other before turning away and blushing.
"Anyways, how was the food?' Tabi asked, slurping on Agoti's drink without even asking him.
Girlfriend sighed. "I have to say... it was better than I thought, especially coming from Tankman. He told us that he personally prepared our meal!" She said. Whitty coughed but said nothing.
"Yeah yeah, whatever," Agoti said, waving his hand. "Where's the little man? Did he fall in the toilet or something?" Whitty had to suppress his laugh, but Carol did not. Whitty then felt silly for trying not to be rude.
"No, he's getting his ca-" Whitty was cut off by a yell in the distance. Agoti and Tabi both looked at each other, before busting out laughing.
"What did you two do?" Girlfriend asked, putting her hands on her hips. Tabi took a deep breath to stop laughing.
"Um, nothing. We, uh, have somewhere to be. Right, Agoti?" He said, turning to briskly walk away.
Agoti nodded. "Yup. Somewhere to be. See you lovebirds later!" He said, turning to follow Tabi. A spray paint can fell out of Tabi's pocket, which he quickly picked up.
"Huh. Weird." Whitty said, desperately praying that they didn't do anything stupid. His praying ceased when Boyfriend pulled up. Agoti and Tabi did, in fact, do something stupid.
"Look what they did to my car!" Boyfriend yelled, getting out of the car and pointing to a picture of Boyfriend that was just his head and feet, making him appear short(er). Whitty and Carol both had to use all their willpower to not laugh, but when they looked at each other, they lost it and cracked up. Boyfriend groaned and rolled his eyes. "Yeah, yeah, laugh it up. You two aren't so lucky, either. Look what else they did!" Boyfriend said, pointing to a smaller painting, showing drawings of Whitty's head and Carol's head side by side, with a heart crudely drawn around it.
Whitty let out a softer laugh, but a blush crept onto his face. He looked to see that Carol had a blush as well. His laughter became nervous, as he rubbed the back of his neck. "Hey, I think it's pretty cute." Girlfriend said, getting into the car. Boyfriend, in dramatic tears, got in as well. Carol and Whitty soon followed.
*
"Well, this is it." Boyfriend said. His tears have dried up by now, and they were pulling up to the Female Dorm Building. Girlfriend and Carol began to get out. Whitty did as well, planning to walk the girls to the door. "I'll wait here. To give you two a moment." Boyfriend said as Girlfriend gave him a quick kiss. "Bye!" He gave a little wave to Carol and Girlfriend. Girlfriend giggled and said Bye as well. She walked past Carol and Whitty.
"I'll see you in the dorm." She said, walking into the building, leaving Whitty and Carol standing outside the building.
"Well." Whitty began, putting his hands into his pockets, glancing down at Carol, then up into the sky. "Today was pretty interesting, huh?" Carol laughed, recalling all the things that happened in such a short period of time. The light coming from the dorm windows poured out onto Whitty and Carol. Carol fiddled with her dress until Whitty spoke up once more.
"I had a lot of fun, though. I hope we can do it again sometime." He spoke nervously, rubbing the back of his neck, a light red appearing on his cheeks. Carol found it rather cute how nervous Whitty was to be on a date with her.
She nodded. "I'd like that." She spoke, putting her hands behind her back. She bit her bottom lip, looking up as Whitty towered over her.
"Could you, umm... Lean over for me?" She asked, her cheeks becoming slightly pink. Whitty was confused by the request but did it anyways, bringing his face to the same height as hers. Carol leaned in and placed a soft kiss on his cheek.
Whitty nearly passed out, but thankfully, did not. He simply straightened back up, his face a bright red. He opened his mouth to speak, but no words came out. Carol giggled, going to the door.
"See you tomorrow." She said as she closed the door.
Whitty silently walked back to Boyfriend's car, getting in the passenger seat. Boyfriend waited for a moment before busting out laughing.
"Aha! You dog! You did it! That was actually really cute. I hope you don't mind, but I was totally listening to everything you guys were saying. I also recorded that, just in case. Go, Team Whitty! I knew you had it in you to be a good date! Surprisingly. Also, I'm never paying for your food again."
