"So… I see you took it upon yourself to take my daughter on a date without my permission."
Mommy Mearest sat on a chair, not unlike a throne in her pink office that was considerably bigger than a classroom. She stared daggers through Boyfriend as he sat opposite of her, in a tiny wooden chair that could break at any moment.
"Um… Yes ma'am." Boyfriend said, clearing his throat. He could feel Mommy Mearest's gaze penetrating him. He felt like if he said something stupid, he would probably be injured. 'Good thing I don't say stupid stuff…' He thought to himself. He coughed. "I don't see how that's a problem…ma'am. I didn't do anything, just took her to Tankman's. I thought you might appreciate that since you, um, own it…?" The last part of his sentence sounded like he wasn't too sure if his knowledge was correct since he definitely wasn't.
Mommy Mearest donned a scowl. She did not seem to appreciate it.
"Do you think you're funny?"
"Well, if I make a joke-"
"Shut up."
Mommy Mearest's patience was at its end, and Boyfriend didn't seem to realize it. She took a deep breath to calm down. "Make sure to ask permission before taking out daughter on a date next time. Obviously, we would decline, but still." She said, looking through the blue-haired rapper before her. "And for punishment..." She paused to think for about 2 minutes. Boyfriend sat in awkward silence, occasionally coughing.
"You have to clean the whole school."
Boyfriend sighed with relief. He figured that it could've been way worse.
"Which includes all the instruments, all the dorms, the cafeteria, auditorium, and all of that."
Boyfriend stopped his silent celebration for a moment. How big was the school exactly? It might a long time, but he at least wouldn't he injured.
"Also, because I'm in a very good mood today, you can also have two helpers." She said, right as Spirit and Senpai walked (floated?) in.
"Um, you wanted to see us?" Senpai asked somehow emitting light and sparkles. "Did we do something?"
Mommy Mearest turned to the two who just walked in.
"I need you to help this sad sack clean the school." She said, leaning back on her throne. "After school. And after detention."
Boyfriend and Spirit groaned loudly.
"Um… is cleaning the dorms really necessary? I mean, how am I supposed to clean the female ones?" Boyfriend asked, meekly raising his hand.
"I'm sure you'll figure it out. Now, you two can go." She said, beckoning for Spirit and Senpai to leave. Spirit looked like he wanted to die, which was rather unfortunate since he couldn't. The two turned to leave the office.
"And now, for your second punishment."
Boyfriend used all of his willpower to not whine. Instead, he sighed to himself.
"Ma'am… don't you think that cleaning everything is enough…?" He asked, shifting in his wooden chair.
Mommy Mearest shook her head.
"Don't make me give you a third for being an annoying little shit."
Boyfriend became silent.
"… You're a rapper, yes?" She asked, leaning forward once more.
Boyfriend nodded.
"Not anymore. You play metal now. You're changing classes, starting tomorrow. Now get the hell out of my office, before I give you more punishments just because I had to look at you."
*
"Well, I hope you're happy," Spirit said, as they sat in detention. Even though Spirit was in charge of the detention center, he still felt like he was in detention, too. "Now we have to spend even MORE time together." He seemed like he wanted to cry.
"I don't know why you two got dragged into it. Or me, now that I think about it." Boyfriend sighed in defeat in his chair. "It's totally unfair. All because I took her daughter out! How did she even find out about that!"
Tabi cringed out loud from beside Boyfriend.
"Yeah… about that…" He said, pulling out his phone. "That might be on me."
Boyfriend leaned over to see what he had in his phone. It was multiple selfies of Tabi and Agoti, showing the two in front of Boyfriend's car with the image they painted on it, and one other showing them in the restaurant with Boyfriend, Girlfriend, Whitty, and Carol in the back of the photo.
"WHY??? How did her parents even see it!?" Boyfriend asked in despair, going back to his seat. Agoti had to force himself to not laugh, but he failed. Boyfriend glared at him.
"What? Oh come on, it's pretty funny!" The digidevil said, wiping a tear from the corner of his eye. "But it does suck that you have to clean the entire school. Especially with those two." They looked over to Senpai and Spirit. Senpai held up a piece sign with a blinding smile. Spirit was crying on the floor.
"Me and Agoti would totally help, but…" Tabi began, looking towards Agoti. "We, uh, don't really want to. So sorry."
"Gee, thanks. You two have been very helpful." Boyfriend said. He put his face in his hands, exhaling deeply. "It's not just cleaning the school, either. I also can't even make rap here anymore. They're putting me in a metal music class."
"Well, that actually does suck. Can you even play actual instruments?" Agoti asked, finally beginning to feel pity for Boyfriend. "I'm going to assume that you can't because of you're uh... vertical challenges." Spirit could be heard laughing to himself.
Boyfriend didn't seem to understand what he meant, which was fine with Agoti. "No, not really. All I know is some guitar, but not, like, metal guitar." He said, wanting to lay on the floor like Spirit was. "Ugh, is there anybody cool in that class?"
"Um... Nate is fine, I guess... I think Whitty is in there, but I don't know... I know there's a dude named Tossler... Sunday's cool, too..." Agoti thought out loud. His eye's widened, and he laughed. "Pico's in there." Boyfriend groaned, for what seemed like the millionth time.
"Why can't my life just be really easy?" He asked no one in particular. Spirit sighed, and Senpai patted his back(?). "Maybe it won't be that bad. Maybe Pico has changed since... last night when I saw him...?" He seemed to have little hope in his voice. Tabi and Agoti laughed.
"Come on, don't kid yourself. This is Pico we're talking about." Tabi said, reminiscing about the time that they interfered with Boyfriend's double date. "If you dated him, I don't know why you're questioning his ability to be a piece of shit." Boyfriend sighed, knowing that Tabi was, unfortunately, right about this.
"Doesn't matter! I'm gonna be a rock star! Not by choice. I can maybe be a singer." Boyfriend said, holding out a peace sign. Senpai cheered. It might've sounded sarcastic, but he was being 100% genuine.
"Do you actually not know how to play any instruments? You just get everything done on computers?" Agoti asked, rolling his eyes. "Come on, man. I hope you don't go around calling yourself a musician."
"Only once!" Boyfriend said, turning his back to Agoti and crossing his arms.

"Where do you guys want to start?" Senpai asked as they stood outside the detention center. "I recommend starting from the front of the campus to the back." He somehow already had all the cleaning gear that they would need. Spirit rolled his eyes.
"I personally don't give a shit. Whatever will get us done the quickest is what I vote for." Spirit said, not being to actually pick anything up. He grabbed(?) a roll of trash bags out of Senpai's hands. The roll of trashbags floated around Spirit with a faint red glow. "Give me some." He said, annoyed.
"Damn. Why are you so mad all the time?" Boyfriend asked as he picked up his first piece of trash: a pack of cigarettes, presumably from Garcello. "Like, did my girl's dad do something to you, too?"
Sprit shivered as he began to remember. "Yup... Exactly..." Spirit said, dropping the roll. "I was just an up-and-coming artist, working under Daddy Dearest...He didn't like how my music was actually becoming popular, so he trapped me inside a game. With this idiot over here."
The two looked at Senpai with a trashbag already full as he took a selfie.
"I was in there for years. I think it was when he opened this school that he brought me and Senpai out to work for him again. He told me... 'If I don't learn my place... I would have a worse fate than being trapped in a game.' I desperately want revenge, but I can't. Not alone."
Boyfriend stood in place, dumbfounded.
"Damn, that's intense. I'm sorry you had to go through that. I feel you, brother." The rapper said, putting his hand to his heart. "But at least you two got out alive...?" Boyfriend looked as Spirit sighed. He grabbed his trash bags again and began to go into the classrooms.
The first rooms on a list the Senpai made without Boyfriend and Spirit knowing were the Hip-Hop classes. They were full of fancy computers, drum pads, keyboards, and a recording studio for vocals. Boyfriend groaned, going over to one of the computers.
"THIS is the class I should be in!" He complained, looking around the room. "Not some silly class for a genre I don't even play! Or listen to it! Or like it!" Boyfriend sat down in front of a keyboard.
"I personally think that I don't give a single fuck." Spirit said, as he grabbed trash bags from this room's trash can, and put the bag into his bigger bag. Senpai patted him on his back.
"The message was flawed, but at least you got some trash! Well done!" He said cheerily. "Should we also wipe the computers?"
Boyfriend shook his head. Right as he went to play the keyboard, a booming voice made him nearly jump out of his seat.
"Don't even think about it."
Boyfriend turned to see Daddy Dearest standing in the doorway, glaring at Boyfriend.
"You only play metal now, remember? Also... aren't you supposed to be cleaning?" He asked, even though he knew the answer.
Spirit turned his back to DD, trying his best not to say a sarcastic comment or give him a dirty look. Senpai simply smiled and waved.
Boyfriend sighed, standing up from the keyboard seat.
"...yeah..." He said, looking down.
"That's right. Now, get back to it. I want it done by tomorrow night." The demon said, before seeming to disappear in thin air.
"Where did he...?" Senpai began, before gasping. "He disappeared! That was so cool!" The cheery boy said, eyes sparkling.
Spirit rolled his eyes. "No shit. Let's hurry this up, I want to leave as soon as possible."
The trio moved throughout the school, half-assing their current task, except Senpai who almost seemed like he wanted to be there. Spirit, however, wanted to spend as little time there as possible. Boyfriend just lets them do most of the work. After what seemed like forever, the group was finally almost done with the school building. All they had left to clean was the Front Desks, the Admin's offices, and the nurse's office.
"This school doesn't even have a nurse! Why do we have to clean this one??" Spirit asked, looking up and being dramatic. "Why must life be like this??"
Boyfriend shrugged. "That's a good question, Spirit. I'm sure you and Senpai can figure it out, while I go to the bathroom!" Boyfriend said and ran off. Senpai and Spirit were 80% sure that Boyfriend didn't even know where to look.
"Well, I guess it's just us," Senpai said, yawning. Spirit noticed that Senpai finally seemed a little worn out. He began to think back and remember that after they escaped the video game, Senpai never really seemed to get tired of interacting with people. Spirit sighed softly.
"Yeah, I guess. Hopefully, he uses the bathroom quickly." Spirit walked over to the trash can and picked up the bag. Senpai held up the bigger trash bag for Spirit.
"Thanks." He said, dropping the trash bag into the larger bag. Senpai nodded, tying off his bag, and setting it aside.
"Hey, can I ask you something?" Senpai asked as he pulled out a trash bag for the trash can. Spirit sighed as he went over to reluctantly dust off the desks. He nodded.
"I guess. Make it fast, I was enjoying the silence." He said as a dust cloth with a faint red glow began to wipe the desks, computer monitors, and keyboards.
"Why are you always being rude to me? It's not like I did anything wrong..." Senpai said, glancing over to Spirit, the sparkle in his eyes seemed to have dimmed. "I just... I don't know, I've always enjoyed our time together."
Spirit stopped his dusting for a moment to think about how he should word his next sentence. He sighed, looking to Senpai, who seemed to be eager for a positive response.
"Being trapped in that game for so long... years, with no one to talk to, except an NPC who wouldn't leave me alone. It's just... I've gotten so used to not interacting with anyone, that it's become my thing. And then to have this person who was the only other person I could interact with become the only person I really talk with in the real world, it's kind of upsetting. What I need is to get out of this loop, and start interacting with other people. But Daddy Dearest can't seem to let me find a way out."
Senpai stood silent, taking in all the information. Spirit went right back to wiping the desks in silence as well.
"I'm sorry I made you feel like you were stuck in a loop. You've been one of my only friends since I escaped that game, and... I guess I might have been a little clingy..." Senpai said, looking up at Spirit.
"Eh, I'm being dramatic a lot of the time. You're actually not that bad. But I would rather have more than one person who I hang out with on a daily basis, you know?" Spirit said, glancing at the cherry blonde. Senpai chuckled softly.
"Yeah, I guess we both do."
*
"And this..." Boyfriend opened a random door, hoping that he had finally found the bathroom. He had been looking for at least 3 minutes, and it was getting hard for him to hold it in. The door creaked open, light spilling into the unused Nurse's office. He groaned. "Are there even any bathrooms?" He asked nobody. He grumbled to himself as he walked to the next door to his left. He opened it, hoping he finally found the bathroom. The door opened, and it was not a bathroom. He groaned once more, looking up to see what room the door led to.
Daddy Dearest
Wait... this was Daddy Dearest's office? He thought to himself. Boyfriend looked over his shoulders to make sure that Daddy Dearest wouldn't just appear out of nowhere to scare Boyfriend. He didn't seem to be anywhere. He cautiously took a step into the office.
The walls were painted a gray color, and it actually seemed more basic than Boyfriend was expecting. He was expecting gold walls, giant thrones, and a giant monitor to show the camera feed for the school. Instead, it was just one desk, one chair, and a computer. Boyfriend laughed. This was it? The entire office? It was very pathetic. Boyfriend walked more into the office, going over to examine the desk. It was rather tall, but that's about the only interesting thing about it. As he went to sit in the chair, he noticed a small button on the bottom of the desk.
Daddy Dearest must have assumed that no one as short as Boyfriend would ever be on this side of the desk. Unfortunately, Boyfriend was here now and was ready to push random buttons at any time. So that's exactly what he did.
A soft boom could be heard coming from behind Boyfriend. He slowly turned around, worried that he accidentally blew something up. Instead, the sound of a machine starting filled Boyfriend's ears as the wall opposite the door that he entered began to move, revealing a secret room.
How original
Boyfriend rolled his eyes as he walked into the secret room, walls painted with a more lavender color. Now Boyfriend had his expectations fulfilled. A giant monitor displayed a camera feed from the school. One of them showed Senpai and Spirit cleaning a room, chatting with each other. Opposite the monitor was a lone file cabinet. This caught Boyfriend's curiosity. He slowly walked to it and opened the cabinet that was about his height. He picked up a random file. Boyfriend looked to see what the file was called.
Secret Project
Well, that was certainly an interesting name. Boyfriend figured that Daddy Dearest was probably opening some sort of venue for the students to perform. Or, more realistically, for Daddy Dearest to perform. Boyfriend put the file back into its place and closed the cabinet.
"WHAT do you think you think you're doing in here!?"
Well shit.
Boyfriend's back straightened. The hairs on the back of his neck stood straight out. Boyfriend began to get sad now. He wouldn't even be able to say goodbye Girlfriend. Instead, his moments would be him snooping around her dad's secret office.
"...Beep boop."
"That's it, I think I've had enough of your shit." Daddy Dearest said, picking up Boyfriend by his collar, pushing the button, and leaving his secret office.
Boyfriend grunted as Daddy Dearest slammed him against the wall by his shirt. Daddy Dearest had a giant scowl on his beet-red face. Something told Boyfriend that DD wasn't in the best mood.
"Give me ONE good reason why I shouldn't kick you out of the school, ruin your career, and send you to the hospital right now." The demon said, trying his hardest to contain the fury he felt at that moment.
"Oh shit. Is this time-sensitive???" Boyfriend asked, worried that he wouldn't be able to come up with a good reason in time.
"Yeah, you 5 seconds. That's me being generous."
"Um-Um-Um... Girlfriend would hate you forever?" Boyfriend said, and then immediately winced, ready to be hurt. When he wasn't, he opened his eyes to see that Daddy Dearest was deep in thought. He groaned loudly, punching the wall next to Boyfriend. Bits of brick and paint flew by. Boyfriend screamed.
"Damn you!! You're a lucky little shit-head. I can't tell you how badly I want to hurt you. But I love my daughter more than I hate you. Now tell me..."
Daddy Dearest took a breath.
"What did you see?"
Boyfriend shrugged, taking shaky breaths. He collected his wits for a moment, then spoke.
"U-Um, I only opened your file cabinet. Honest!" The rapper said desperately. "Now, can you put me back on the ground, please?"
Daddy Dearest grumbled as he let Boyfriend fall to the floor.
"If I ever see you near my office again, I'm actually going to do something that I will not regret." Daddy Dearest said. "This is a very serious threat. Tread lightly. Or, don't. I'm fine either way."
Boyfriend sighed with relief as Daddy Dearest disappeared.
"Well, I totally won that confrontation." He said to himself, getting up, dusting off his shirt, fixing his hat, and going back to join Senpai and Spirit.
