35: Gorizilla
For the first time in a while, Adrien and I had a weekend off.
And just in time too.
Adrien mentioned that a certain theater was going to present a movie only once in a scheduled time where his mother acted in.
It was called 'Solitude'.
And the thing about that movie is that there are no DVD or other digital copies of that movie. So far, only Gabriel has a copy in his possession.
I've told Adrien if Gabriel will allow it to play in his house, but he quickly changed the subject. And I knew not to bring it up again.
Though, it was nice that we would finally be going on an outside date after a long time.
Eating out with him during our free afternoons is nice, but it doesn't feel like a real date. We are careful to act like normal friends and not two people who are in love.
It's hard not to notice couples around me as they walk hand-in-hand, or kissing in public. I would like to do that with Adrien, but we know we can't.
And that's because I said so.
This is the closest we have as a movie date outside of my apartment. But we have to be cautious about it.
Adrien has to disguise himself.
I've been placing pieces of his disguise in his locker for the past several days so that he can take them to his place.
And just so he doesn't feel left out, I'm going to disguise myself as well.
So here I am, preparing a blonde wig, reminding myself a lot of Hannah Montana, as I put on blue contacts.
Wearing ripped high waisted jeans, a black tank top, white go-go boots and a matching white biker jacket.
Adrien was going to be wearing a black shaggy wig, dark shades and fake eyebrow piercings. I told him to wear all black to complete the look.
Just as I was getting ready, my phone rang.
It was Alya.
"Allo?" I answered.
"Hey, girl," She answers, "I know you're busy, but I'm just letting you know that you can still meet us at the pool if you can spare some time."
"That's… nice of you," I said slowly. "But I'm not going to keep hopes up when I know I'm not going."
"Girl, you've been working too hard," Alya starts, "You need to take a break. Doctor's orders."
I laughed, "I'll take a break soon enough, I promise."
"Oh really? How soon?"
"…I'll be free tomorrow," I admitted.
"Okay, that settles it, we are having a girl's day out tomorrow as well!"
In the background I heard the girls' excitement.
Oh boy, what have I gotten myself into?
"You heard that, Jolene? You can't back out for tomorrow," Alya taunts. "We'll see you then. I'll text you the details. Bye!"
I groaned, blaming only myself in my predicament. I would like to swim with the girls, but Adrien is more important to me.
I know if I told him that the girl's invited me out, he would have encouraged me to go with them. But knowing what this movie means to him, I didn't want him to know. Plus, if he did suggest for me to go with the girls, I would still have chosen him.
Now, it's time I go towards our date.
As I walked out of my apartment, I couldn't help smiling wryly at the excessive posters of Adrien the Fragrance.
I remember how much he complained that he didn't want to be the face of a cologne. And that the ad was embarrassing to make.
"Why didn't you say that to your father? I'm sure he could influence that the ad could go in a different direction. Like more action, less dreamy?" I offered him.
He sighed loudly, "I tried, but he doesn't let me put a word in when it comes to his work."
I was lost for words to help him, so instead I pulled his head on my lap. Adrien the Fragrance ad was gone and we were watching a French comedy dubbed movie on the TV.
He relaxed as I ran my fingers through his hair, giving him the scalp massage that he enjoys so much.
The light to cross the street helped me get my mind back on track as I made my way towards the theater.
I was very early, the only one sitting there with a bag of fresh popcorn and a drink. We agreed to sit in the middle row in the very middle seats so we would have the best view.
"Radiant… Carefree… Dreamy… Adrien, the fragrance." The ad plays, as a wry smile appears on my lips.
Though I have to admit that my boyfriend looks flattering and very handsome. Like someone once said, he has a face that looks like it's been carved by angels.
Personally, I like it when his hair is as Cat.
Marinette's been acting differently towards me after her birthday. She's trying harder than usual to bring Cat Noir in conversations. Usually, with the help of Alya talking about Ladybug in her blog.
Her most recent attempt wanted me to tell her to 'back off'. Somehow I bit my tongue and instead walked away.
Just thinking about it, makes a bitter taste on my tongue.
It was just after school, we were getting things from our lockers when the girls approached me.
"Jolene, do you have plans this Saturday?" Alya asks.
Immediately my guard was up as I easily lied to them, "Yeah. Work."
"You really need a break," Marinette says softly, "I'm sure you can spare a couple of hours."
"Not for this Saturday," I said. "I have a deadline."
"Come on, it'll be fun!" Marinette cheers. "We are all going to the pool to relax and have a good time, right girls?"
The girls nodded and agreed with their orchestrator.
"Come on, Jol," Alix says, "I want to have a swimming race with you! You said that you're a good swimmer."
I smiled nervously as I mentioned that to her when we were talking about the sports we have been involved in.
"I'm sorry, but that will have to be another time," I said to them. "I really can't go out."
"It's going to be just us girls," Marinette continues, "And we can talk about anything we want without the boys eavesdropping."
Alya then suddenly had that glint in her eyes.
"Yeah, like I would like to talk about that little stunt you did to protect Cat," She starts.
"That looked very romantic," Marinette smiles as the rest of the girls, minus Alix, had the match glints in their eyes. "It reminded me of a princess protecting the knight she loves."
That sneaky little-
"I'm going to be late," I quickly said as I closed my locker a little harder than necessary. "I'm sorry, but I'm not going to make it. I'm very busy."
And I left before any of them could say more. Especially Marinette.
There was no doubt that Marinette wanted me to give Cat a 'second chance'. But that isn't going to happen. I'm ready for the world to know that I'm with Adrien.
Less danger for the two of us if I'm with Cat.
Though, I have a feeling Adrien's fans are going to be foaming from their mouths when they hear about it. When that happens, I need to be prepared.
I don't think I'll be able to go out as Jolene as casually anymore. If it's anything like Adrien's life, I'm not able to do groceries without someone taking pictures and posting it on the internet.
So I have to move into a different apartment, that way my friend's will have blissful ignorance. And Ladybug/Marinette will stop snooping around.
Huh, this time I'll be able to get an apartment of my liking.
I don't know how long I've been daydreaming of apartment hunting, but then I heard people coming very close to me.
I recognized Adrien, wearing his usual clothes and a helmet. But there was also Marinette. She was wearing pajamas, some cheap shades and a towel over her head.
Adrien sat next to me.
Marinette looked at me curiously, but thankfully I kept my gaze focused on the screen. Kind of glad I painted fake freckles at the last minute before heading out.
I felt tapping on the side of my thigh.
'I can explain'.
I nodded slowly, as I carefully moved my hand and tapped his thigh. 'At my place. Tonight.'
But then once again, the Adrien the Fragrance ad plays again.
I can literally feel the annoyance pouring out of him as he watches it. But then Marinette, not so quietly, was whispering the ad's dialogue.
Mentally I rolled my eyes, while Marinette was making some sort of conversation with Adrien.
But thankfully the movie was about to start.
I had no idea what to expect, but the opening scene was so… somber. Well, maybe I should have since the name of the movie is 'Solitude'.
Though, what was interesting was that who produced it was A. Bourgeois. There is only one person that I know that could be A. Bourgeois. And if it is who I think it is… I'm very curious why he would change his profession from movie producer to mayor of Paris.
We barely made it to show Emilie Agreste's name on the screen when suddenly a flash of light blinded us.
"Adrien in a helmet at the movies with his girlfriend wearing a towel!" A random guy sitting in our row said out loud as he was typing on his phone.
Adrien quickly put on his helmet again, but it was too late.
"Adrien's at the movies!" Another random guy yells from the top of his lungs behind us.
We all turn around and I swear I've seen this guy a lot. He wears almost the exact same clothes as Adrien, but just a tad bit different to not be identical. He's a huge fan as far as I remember.
And that statement is backed up as he's holding on to a life size cardboard cut off of Adrien.
Not even three seconds later, a huge crowd started heading towards him and I knew that I had to leave if I didn't want to become trampled.
Lots of pictures were taken in flash, blinding me as I tried to get away.
I fell back into a chair, but then the roof was broken in by a huge hairy hand.
I covered my head as small debris fell on top of me.
There were lots of screams and running around me as I tried to look for Adrien, only for him to be taken by the mysterious hand.
"Wait… you're my bodyguard!" I heard him yell.
Giles… got akumatized into a giant gorilla.
"Let go of Adrien!" Adrien's fanboy yells as he starts throwing popcorn or whatever was in reach towards Giles. Others were following his lead.
"You have me, leave them alone!" Adrien yells.
Giles left, making the other leave as well.
Then I saw that it was just Marinette and me.
I saw her about to turn in my direction, but I quickly ducked under the seats.
"Tikki, spots on!"
I waited for a while after hearing her yo-yo snap into action before rising again.
I looked at the movie screen to see that it was frozen, showing a silhouette of Emilie's face peeking from the side of the black umbrella.
Even if the Ladybugs restore this place, it's not going to reverse time. The movie would not play again. Meaning Adrien, nor I, will be able to see it.
There's no point in waiting here.
As I walked out of the theater, I texted Adrien that I returned to my apartment.
So much for a free weekend.
I knew I shouldn't have turned on the news, but I wanted to know how things worked out.
When I turned to the news channel, what I saw was Adrien falling from a building. But Ladybug was trapped in Gorizilla's hand.
I thought Adrien was going to die.
I haven't had a panic attack in a while, so I didn't realize I was having one.
All I know is that I could feel my heart trying to get out of my chest, the hairs on my body were standing on end. I looked at my hands to see them shaking uncontrollably and my burning eyes made it seem like I had eight hands.
My chest started to hurt, and I felt like I couldn't get enough air.
I think I passed out because the next thing I know, Ladybugs was all I saw before I focused on the TV.
"And once again, Paris is safe thanks to Ladybug and Cat Noir," Nadja Chamack says.
"And because of popular demand we will replay Ladybug's heroic rescue to Adrien Agreste, model and son to famous fashion designer Gabriel Agreste."
Strangely I felt calm as I watched Adrien falling, probably knowing that he was saved.
It was strange how suddenly Gorizilla let Ladybug go when he clearly had her immobile. And I saw that it wasn't his choice.
I've noticed there's dark circles surrounding Akumatized people's eyes, they come and go, but usually when they are talking to thin air. But I have a feeling they are talking to Hawkmoth, or rather Hawkmoth is talking to them.
It's kind of hard to see because of Gorizilla's face wasn't the main close up, but I swear I saw those dark circles on his eyes just a second before he let go of Ladybug.
And I want to thank Hawkmoth for giving that order. If he didn't…
"And here's proof that Adrien Agreste can charm even strong heroines," Nadja comments as the screen shows Ladybug, holding Adrien very tightly as she slowly descends them safely to the ground.
I noticed Adrien taking his hands off her the moment he touched ground, but Ladybug took a couple of seconds to do so.
I turned off the TV and looked at my phone.
No messages.
Sorry we didn't get to see the movie, I texted him.
Soon I got a reply.
Me too. I'll come over after dinner.
I stared at my phone for a while.
Should I reply?
My phone buzzed, and it was Alix.
I answered, "Allo?"
"Girl, it's my turn to convince you to join us," She says. "And really, I'm kind of bored just competing with myself."
In the background I heard some people talking loudly, but Alix must have muffled her phone with something because I couldn't hear a clear word.
"Come on! Marinette is barely joining!"
"This late?" I asked casually, even though I knew the reason.
"You haven't seen the posts on any social media?" She asks a little softer.
"No," I drawled. "What happened?"
She sighed, "I'll send them to you. Let me know if you want to come, yeah? And if you do… bring your swimsuit."
"Okay, ciao," I said softly.
"Bye," Alix replies as she hangs up.
Seconds later, I saw her sending me posts from my InstaSnap. I opened them and I don't know if I wanted to laugh or groan.
So Marinette wearing her pajamas was unintentional from the start. From the pictures posted, I could tell they were like deer caught in headlights.
Out of morbid curiosity, I read the comments.
Some say they looked like a cute couple.
Others say that Adrien could do better.
But most were about lamenting that Adrien wasn't single.
If only the world knew that Adrien hasn't been single for months.
I wonder if Adrien will make a public statement about the photos? I better hope so and clear up the misunderstanding. Not because I'm jealous…
Okay, not super jealous, but it still bothered me that I read that they looked like a cute couple, by around a hundred people.
I found myself looking at my closet before realizing that I was pulling out my black monokini. It was less revealing than the two piece navy blue with white polka dots bandeau.
Quickly I packed my things and got out of my apartment.
Hopefully, I will not be roped into hanging out with them tomorrow. There's only so much large social interaction I can withstand.
"Jolene!" The girls yelled as they saw me.
"Hi," I waved at them. "Room for one more?"
They smiled as I quickly excused myself to change.
When I came out, Alix whistled and I think Juleka was blushing. It was hard to tell as she covered her face more with her hair.
"Jolene, let's race!" Alix yelled as she got out of the pool and stood on towards the deep edge.
"Let me just finish my braid," I told her as I stood beside her as I tied up the end of my French braid.
"I'll be the judge!" Rose readily exclaims as she and the rest of the girls got out of the pool.
All of them were wearing the typical one piece modest bathing suits, except for Rose. She was wearing a two piece, but her bottom part was a frilly pink swim skirt with a matching top; still modest compared to mine.
"Need goggles?" Alix asks as she puts her over her eyes.
"Thank you," I smiled wryly as I accepted them. When I put them on, we got ready into position.
"Ready. Set. Go!" Rose yells and immediately we dived in.
There's a different preference between us.
Alix did the freestyle stroke as she swam on the surface.
However, I did the dolphin kick as I swam right under her.
When I was in swallower waters, I kicked the floor and quickly swam up where my hand would reach the edge.
I gasped for air as I smiled tiredly as I looked at Alix who caught up to me seconds later.
The girls ran towards us and I saw that Alya was recording.
"Girl, you held your breath for over a minute!" She exclaims.
"You reminded me of a mermaid," Rose squeals.
Alix gently bumps shoulders, "I knew you would give me a challenge."
I smiled wryly, "I've been swimming longer than I have been walking."
"That's possible?" Mylène asks softly.
I nodded, "And plus, I had the world's largest pool available for me to use. I would swim and surf for hours."
Then I smiled sadly as I remembered the good times I spent with family and friends.
On the first day of a full moon, Dad and Mom would reserve a place on the beach to have a bonfire with us. Dad would bring his guitar or ukulele and play for us.
As we grew older, we would bring our instruments to join him.
"Oh yeah, you used to live near the beach," Mylène says, getting me out of my thoughts.
I pulled myself up and sat on the ledge, Alix doing the same and the girls joining us to just soak our feet.
I raised my goggles up to my forehead and just swayed my feet together back and forth.
"Jolene," Alya said as she sat beside me. "Have you seen the posts that show Marinette and Adrien together? People think they are a couple. Isn't that cute?"
"Alya," Marinette blushes.
"I saw them," I said casually as I did my best not to look at her.
"I still can't believe I was in my pajamas," She blushes more, causing the rest of the girls to giggle. "But it was nice to be with him."
"It's about time that you guys were alone," Alya cheers for her. Then she turned towards me, "Hey, do you think you can set up a date between them?"
Everyone's eyes were on me. I had a feeling this day would come, but not this soon.
"No," I answered.
I should be glad they weren't mad at first, but Alya's eyes were analyzing every millimeter of my face.
"You do know that Marinette has a huge crush on him, right?"
"It's very obvious to everyone in here," I told her blandly, but it still made Marinette blush from Alya's other side. "Look, I understand that you girls tried to play matchmaker, but count me out."
Alya was about to interrupt, but I stopped her.
"Adrien is one of my best friends. I'm not going behind his back to set him up with someone he never expected to go out on a date," I told them. "Sorry, Marinette, but I will not be your wingman.
"I'll be Adrien's wingman, not yours. I hope you understand."
Everyone was watching our reaction, Marinette did take her sweet time to answer.
I could tell that she was surprised, but also frustrated. In the end she took a deep breath, "I guess I can understand where you are coming from. I'm sorry if I put you on the spot."
I waved my hand in front of me, hoping to still act casual, "Don't worry about it. But if you really want to go out with Adrien on a real date… you literally just need to ask up front."
It hurts to say that. Not just because I'm telling her to ask Adrien to date her, but because I know if she ever does that, he's going to reject her. Of course, gently, but Marinette is too emotional and she's not going to react well.
…Would she be akumatized?
Can Ladybug be akumatized? And if she is, how can Cat de-evilize that? He doesn't have the magical yo-yo to return everything back to normal.
My head is going to explode.
"Anyways, I thought we were going to swim?" I asked as I jumped into the pool again. The girls joined in and things were fine.
Or that's what I hope.
I was dozing off in my bed when I heard tapping on my window. I sat up and saw Cat staring in.
Quietly I unlocked the window, inviting Cat in.
"Are you mad?" He asks softly as I lock the window behind me.
"Should I be mad?" I asked as I crossed my arms in front of me. "I mean, we had a fool-proof plan that would have gotten you outside of the mess we tried to avoid to happen in the first place."
He winced, "I'm sorry."
"Sorry isn't going to fix it," I told him with a frown. "What happened? And why the hell you just didn't ditch Marinette the first chance you got to stop the rumor that she's your girlfriend? Oh, by the way, congrats for that."
"You know that's not true," He frowned as he went to grab me, but I moved around him as I exited my room.
"Jolene," He whines as he follows me to the kitchen. "Look, I know I could have done things differently, but the costume wasn't going to happen."
I only looked at him as I sat on the island counter, waiting for him to give me an explanation.
He sighed, "I had it ready in the morning, but Nathalie came into my room and saw it on the couch.
"She thought that I wanted the clothes to be dry-cleaned and she threw away the wig…
"Look, I should have texted you sooner, but my priority was to go to the theater as fast as I could before anyone can see me.
"But… even with shades… someone still recognized me," He said softly as he stood in front of me. "Can you forgive me?"
I stared into his eyes for a bit more, before I sighed, "Yeah. Sorry if I snapped."
"No, no," He quickly says, "I understand why you're mad.
"It was going to be like a real date, wasn't it?"
And there go the waterworks.
"Y-yeah. I was really looking forward to it," My voice cracked.
Cat wiped away my tears as he kissed me tenderly.
"I promise I'll take you out on a real date outside of your apartment," He says. "It might take a while, but I'm going to do it."
I could only nod as I hugged him.
"Felino?" I asked softly.
"Yeah?"
"Please make a public statement that Marinette isn't your girlfriend," I said.
I heard him chuckle, "Oh, don't worry. My father already ordered Nathalie to do it for me."
It was a small victory, but then insecurity started to build in me.
"Do you think your dad isn't going to like me dating you?"
"You're wonderful," He says as he pulls me away so we could be face to face. "I can't find a reason why he wouldn't." He kisses me tenderly again, "And if he did, I don't care.
"No one is going to stop me from being with you," He finalized as his lips trailed to my neck.
"And by the way, Alya sent Nino a picture of you and the girls in the public pool."
He gently nibbled my ear as his hands cupped my ass. "Can you model that suit for me?"
My cheeks heated up, but I smiled, "Yeah. Give me a minute."
"I'll take you to your room," He says as he holds my thighs. I wrapped my legs around his waist and held onto him as he carried me back to my room.
Once he put me down, I ran towards the bathroom, where I was drying my monokini and closed the door behind me.
It was thankfully dry, but the fabric was cold. When I put it on, my nipples immediately started to harden and I was about to add the breast padding when I thought better about it.
It's just us.
And it's not like he hasn't seen my boobs before.
So I was just wearing my swimsuit, my nipples standing out as I walked towards my bed, where a previously sitting Cat was now standing up as he saw me.
His cheeks had a soft blush, but not for long.
He licked his lips as his hands reached for me.
He pulled me roughly against him, his hands slapping my ass and groping them as he French kissed me.
He led me back to my bed and sat me down.
"I want pictures," He growls into my ear.
It startled me a little, but I was a little lost.
"How do you want me to pose?"
Let's just say his experience as a model really was showing.
When he was satisfied, he got to his knees and grabbed my knees and spread them apart.
Immediately, I could feel my juices starting to gather, and my clit throbbing at the anticipation.
"You naughty kitty," His voice got deeper as he dragged his nose against my lower lips. He sniffed loudly, making me squirm.
But I couldn't help bucking my hips when he gently traced my labia with his clawed finger. Then he pulled the fabric aside, leaving me completely exposed to him.
"Tonight, I'm going to show how much you mean to me," He says. "I'm here to pleasure you. So sit back and relax, my love.
"My reward is to have you for dessert."
And he did.
His tongue did devilishly amazing things.
I grabbed the back of his head, keeping him in place.
The more I heard him lick my juices, the more I wanted him to continue.
I don't know how many times I orgasmed, but when I saw Cat's face again, all I saw were my juices dripping off from his smirking lips.
He kissed me as he crawled on top of me.
I could feel his erection bumping against me.
"Grind me like you mean it," I told him as I moved my hips, my naked parts rubbing against very hot leather.
He didn't hold back as he placed my leg over his shoulder and moved so fast that my bed coils screeched in protest.
When he was done, he stayed still for a couple of moments before laying down next to me.
We were a sweaty mess.
I grabbed his hand and he pulled me against his chest.
"I love you," He said softly after kissing my forehead.
"I love you, too," I answered back as I kissed his neck.
We stayed in each other's arms for a while before Cat finally spoke.
"I saw the movie," He whispers.
"Yeah? Gabriel gave it to you?" I asked.
"We saw it together," He smiled softly. "I don't remember when was the last time we sat down for almost 90 minutes."
"I'm glad you were able to see it," I said.
"It was a sad, but beautiful movie," He continues as he brushes my hair away from my face. "It was nice to see my mom.
"And it made me think about you."
"Hmm? How come?"
He didn't answer immediately, instead he only smiled fondly, making me blush. I could just feel the love in his eyes as he stared at me.
"I don't want to live with regrets," He started. "And I know that I want you to be in my life forever."
"…What are you trying to say?" I whispered, my heart picking up speed.
Once again, he didn't say anything for a while, instead he kissed me with so much tenderness that made me melt into his arms.
When we parted, he only said, "Each day I love you, today more than yesterday and less than tomorrow."
I caressed his face as I said softly, "I know that there is nowhere in the world love like the one you give me. And I know that night by night, it's growing more and more."
Cat may not have been able to sleep with me through the night, but I was still happy with the pillow talk.
One of many to come.
