Hi!
I loved this chapter (it's pretty action packed!) But the next one is definitely better (in my opinion anyway). I don't have much to chat about today so I'm going to stop rambling and say:
I hope you enjoy!
"These clams must be a whole new species! " Fontaine exclaimed as she gazed at the huge, iridescent pearl laying before her.
A whole two hours had passed since the Dark Orca pirates had received the Nektons' signal for help. They had arrived at the site of the signal and, as Captain Hammerhead had predicted, there was a huge clam with a slightly smaller but still huge pearl within it.
"Great, very informative," Madeline mocked before kicking forward in a rapid, violent motion, "Mine!" She yelled.
"Hey!" Ant yelled as the youngest pirate rushed forward out of reach, "that doesn't belong to you!"
" Anything belongs to me if I want it! I'm a pirate! " Madeline replied indignantly, beginning to pull at the pearl, seeking to yank it from its comfortable position within the clam, yet she was having little success, "come on, come on, you pearl!" She yelled as her attempts failed.
Finn began to swim forward, with the intention of assisting his little sister before a large metal arm stopped him in his tracks and restrained him, accompanied by Fontaine's stern voice demanding, "Don't. Even. Think about it."
Hammerhead also began to swim forward to help his daughter with the pearl yet he was held back by a large metal hand, belonging to Will Nekton's knight, gripping his diving helmet, causing him to yell in frustration.
"Argh! Get your filthy metal hands off me!" Hammerhead bellowed.
"We can resolve this peacefully," Will replied, perfectly calm and relaxed.
"Madeline, let go of the pearl," Kaiko instructed.
Madeline didn't seem to hear Kaiko, or perhaps she just ignored her, as she continued pulling at the stubborn pearl with all of her might, huffing with frustration when she still didn't succeed.
Suddenly there was a loud, creaking sound as the clam began to close.
"Mad, it's closing!" Finn cried out in alarm, still held back by Fontaine, though he was struggling much more, trying to reach his sister.
Madeline ignored him, still fighting with the pearl.
"You've got to get out of there! Now!" Finn yelled as the clam continued to close on his little sister.
Madeline continued to ignore him, still struggling to obtain the pearl.
Finn finally escaped Fontaine's trap when suddenly he was recaptured, this time by Fontaine's knight being in the way.
Oh.
He should have thought about that.
Nektons have fancy machinery that always works and that can go much faster than a delayed pirate.
Noted.
Her knight's claw-like grip connected itself with Finn's right arm and continued restraining him.
"Let me go, Fontaine! I have to help her, she's my sister!" Finn demanded, almost yelling.
Fontaine seemed to hesitate for a moment before releasing Finn from the grip. However, before the claw could fully open, Fontaine's knight whirred a little before breaking down and stopping all together, the claw still firmly fixed on Finn's forearm.
Side note.
Nektons have fancy machinery that sometimes works and that can go much faster than a delayed pirate when it is functioning.
"Seriously! I thought Nekton tech worked better than pirate tech!" Finn exclaimed in frustration as he watched his sister still pulling at the pearl.
"It normally does!" Fontaine pointed out before yelling into her communicator, "Antaeus Nekton, I am going to kill you! "
"Yeah, yeah, I got it," Ant replied dismissively as he exited his knight.
" Ant! What are you doing?" Will asked as he watched his son abandon the knight, leaving Jeffrey still within it.
"The shadow knight is too big to fit in the clam now that it's closing, I'll be fine, Dad, don't worry, "
He swam towards the clam and grabbed hold of Madeline's air tank.
"Be careful! " Will warned from his position of restricting Hammerhead's inevitable damage.
"Careful not to touch the mollusk, Ant, it might disrupt the clam!" Kaiko advised as she watched her son with worry.
But it was too late.
Madeline made it very clear that she wasn't moving and in an attempt to get her to move, Ant pulled her up by the tank attached to her suit...
...Using his feet against the clam as leverage.
Just as soon as his mother's words had reached him, Ant realised his mistake and removed his feet from the clam and yet it was already too late: the clam was almost completely closed.
Fontaine's knight was still refusing to budge - apparently much to both her and Finn's dismay as the pair of them were united in the action of trying to get it to move. Admittedly, Fontaine's actions were most likely to have a slightly higher success rate given the fact that while she was flicking through various switches and buttons on her knight, Finn was using his free arm and his feet to hit and kick the knight with all his strength.
"Ant!"
"Ant!"
"Ant! "
The Nekton family called out to its youngest as the huge clam sealed him inside.
"Madeline!"
" Maddie! "
The Dark Orca pirates that were present called out to their lost member as she was trapped within the giant mollusk.
You don't even want to know how many times I had to watch, rewind and rewatch the episode to get the first half of this chapter right! XD (Here's a hint, I think I can probably recite the whole episode's script word for word, in my sleep!)
Also, well done to LiIy who correctly guessed that Madeline and Ant would end up trapped in the clam.
I hope everyone enjoyed and thank you so much for reading!
Please review, they're really helpful and it gives me something to read!
Thanks!
Kiwi :)
