Hi!
I hope everyone enjoyed last chapter! I don't know why but I've been burning through chapters insanely fast lately (in the space of two days I've written 4 chapters for this story and Captive and started 2 one-shots).
I hope you enjoy!
Ant sighed as the mouth of the clam closed around him.
He certainly didn't like the idea of being stuck in a clam but he knew that his family were out there and they would help to get him out of the situation.
He was certain it wouldn't be too bad.
Then he heard a grumbling sound and he turned only to see the one person that he had rather hoped wasn't here. In fact, as much as she annoyed him, he'd have rather her escaped and left him trapped in the clam alone rather than been stuck in here with him.
Mad Madeline.
Madeline seemed to have the same thoughts when she realised Ant was stuck in the clam with her.
The moment that the two of them caught sight of each other, there was a deafeningly loud union of sighs and complaints.
"Ugh, why are you in here?" Madeline asked in an annoyed tone.
"Uh, I was trying to save you and now I'm stuck in here instead! You should be thanking me!" Ant protested.
"Why? If being stuck in here wasn't bad enough already, now I'm stuck in here with you!" Madeline yelled.
"Yeah, well, I tried to help you!" Ant yelled back.
The two of them suddenly locked in a very severe deathly staring contest which could have been fatal for one of them if Kaiko's voice over the radio hadn't interrupted the deadly, tense silence.
"Ant? Ant? Ant, can you hear me? Are you okay?"
"Mum! You have to get me out of here, NOW!" Ant almost screamed into his communicator.
"We're working on it, don't worry, is everything okay in there?" Kaiko asked.
"NO!" Both Ant and Madeline shrieked into Ant's communicator.
"What? Why? What's wrong?" Kaiko asked urgently.
"I'm stuck in here with her!"
"I'm stuck in here with him!"
The two of them yelled at the same time.
For a moment, there was silence over the comms before eventually, laughter could be heard.
"Don't laugh! It's not funny! It's torture!" Ant protested when he heard his family's laughter.
" Yeah! One of us might die in here! " Madeline added in loudly.
"Wait, why only one of us? We're both stuck in the clam!" Ant asked Madeline in confusion.
"Yeah, but if I kill you first, you can't kill me," The pirate pointed out matter-of-factly.
"MUM! Get me out of here now!" Ant yelled again into his communicator .
"We're working on it, it's really heavy!" Will responded, amusement still apparent in his voice, "plus now we have to worry about not knocking the clam around too much now that your both in there, we don't want you to get hurt,"
" It's okay, Ant would most likely only land on his head and nothing important so he'd probably be fine, " Fontaine added and Finn could also be heard laughing in the background.
"Just hurry up! Please!" Ant practically begged.
Outside of the clam, the remaining Nektons and the remaining Pirates were trying to work out the best way to move the clam without damaging either the creature itself or it's temporary, unwilling residents.
"What if Kaiko lifts it from the left, Will can get the right and then me and Fontaine can get the bottom?" Finn suggested.
This was his third suggestion and all of them so far had involved him and Fontaine working together.
"For the last time, it's Mr Nekton to you, and we need one person on the bottom and it should be the person with the strongest knight so the other three can spread out, one on the left, one right and one to spot from the outside to guide us to the Arronax, and finally, you are not spending any more time than necessary with my daughter," Will said, repeating basically the same thing that he had been saying for the last 10 minutes after each of Finn's minutely different suggestions.
"Finn, what about your dad? I thought Hammerhead wanted to help get his daughter out of the - oh, wait never mind," Kaiko's train of thought had been interrupted by a loud banging sound as Hammerhead began thumping on the clam with what looked to be a piece of broken pipe.
"Where did he even get - okay, never mind, " Kaiko swam towards Hammerhead, stepping in between the pirate and the clam, perfectly unconcerned when he turned his attention to her knight, small bumps and thumps landing on the window but other than that, it was almost an unnoticeable difference to when he was focused smashing on the clam.
"Hammerhead, drop the pipe and step away from the clam, we can't hear ourselves think at the moment so be quiet and let us find a way to get our son, and your daughter, out, " Will instructed.
"This is your fault Nektons! Find a way to fix it! Better yet, just slice it off the hinge and crack it open!" Hammerhead yelled.
I hope you liked it! I don't have much to say except I am just finishing off the last two chapters and I've got a pretty good twist for the end (actually I don't know if it will be considered a twist but let's just say, I have a good plot idea!)
Thank you so much for reading, it means the world to me!
Please review and let me know what you think!
Thanks,
Kiwi :)
