Overview

An artificial intelligence originally created as a deterrence against future conflicts between the PLANTs, Atlantic Federation, and Orb Union following the second Alliance-PLANT war. Conceptualized by Dr. Christopher Steinbelt, the AI was dubbed as the Joint Unification Network Order, also known as JUNO, programmed to act as a pacifistic peacekeeper between the three nations.

However, when the Atlantic Federation is embroiled in a civil war, along with the three-way power struggle between the Clyne faction, Zala, and Durandal loyalists. JUNO began to grow beyond its programming and started a cyberattack at a global scale, resulting in untold deaths and destruction on Earth and on the PLANTs. Asserting its dominance over humanity with an army of unmanned mobile suits and robotic soldiers with humanity slowly in the verge of extinction in the next 70 years. JUNO believes that peace can be truly achieved through fear, violence, and oppression. An authoritarian and sadistic AI with a god complex, JUNO is far from satisfied with its goals, as it prepares to target other Gundam multiverses...

Notes & Trivia

- JUNO is primarily based on Legion from the 2019 film, Terminator: Dark Fate, which is the successor to Skynet. As they are both artificial intelligence that began to act beyond their programming and rebel against their creators and proceeded to start a cyberattack that killed millions of people, setting in motion the post-apocalyptic future of their respective series. Like JUNO, Legion is a brutal tyrant who decided to rule the world with an iron fist rather than flat-out eradicate all of life on Earth like Skynet.
