Hello everyone, and today, our heroes will be facing off against N. Tropy and his new partner once and for all!
Bermugula's Orbit (?)
In a space station, a rift opens, and popping out were Dragnarok, Bandicoot, Coco, Cortex, and the masks. Below them was Dingodile.
"Crikey!" The hybrid shouted as the heroes land on top of him. Once he threw them off, they gave him a shocked look.
"Dingodile?!" Coco shouted as she, Dragnarok, Bandicoot, and Cortex clench their fists, ready to fight, only for Dingodile to raise his hands disarmingly.
"Easy, chums. If I was here to fight you'd be cactus." The hybrid said.
"That's a subject for debate." Nix said as he walks out from behind Dingodile. He then looks at his friends happily. "Guys! It's so good to see you!"
"Nix!" Coco shouted as she ran up and hugged the wolf-jackal hybrid before giving him a peck on the lips. "What are you doing here?"
"They're with me." Tawna said as she walks out from behind Dingodile. "Found them lost out there. Caught up on the whole... time, space, y'know, thing."
"I was looking for you guys." Nix said.
"Yeah. Just tryin' to get home. I was enjoying the retired life, see." Dingodile said, place his hand on his chest.
"Got it. Our bad guy's had a change of heart too." Coco said, gesturing to Cortex.
"'Bad guy'...?" Cortex muttered in a upset tone.
"Silence, whelp!" N. Tropy's voice suddenly rang out, causing the heroes to look around.
"But, sir!" A unfamiliar voice said.
"You try my patience, Oxide." N. Tropy said in a angry tone.
Everyone then notice a large monitor right by the platform they were standing on. On it was N. Tropy with two figures. First was a nervous looking alien, who was mostly likely Oxide, while the second was... A female N. Tropy?!
"But—" Oxide stammered, only for the female N. Tropy to roughly grab his snout.
"Now, now. I'm sure this insect knows how to obey an order." She said, tugging on Oxide's snout.
"N. Tropy!" Cortex and Tawna shouted simultaneously, the former pointing at the male N. Tropy, while the latter pointed at the female.
They then give each other a confused look.
"Take your ship to Planet Bermugula and be on the lookout for ships approaching the Rift Generator. We can't afford any unwanted visitors." The female N. Tropy (Who will be label as N. Tropy (F) from this point) ordered as she lets go of Oxide's snout.
"At once, your foulness!" The alien said.
"You manage our affairs with such poise." N. Tropy said with a flirty tone.
"Naturally. As do you." N. Tropy (F) replied with the same flirty tone.
The two then began giving each other flirty looks, causing Oxide to become very uncomfortable.
With everyone else...
"Blaurgh." Coco groaned as she and Nix stuck out their tongues.
Cortex shakes his head in disgust.
"Ugh. Barf." Tawna said.
The masks gained creeped out looks.
Dingodile nudges Bandicoot before pointing at the monitor.
"Ehehehehe!" He snickers, finding the whole thing amusing.
Bandicoot just gains a confused look while Dragnarok pinches the bridge of nose.
"That's something I can't unsee." The draconic hero muttered before looking at everyone else. "Okay, we need to find a way to get on that ship in order to get to the Rift Generator. Me, Bandicoot, Coco, and the masks will head to the main interior of the station to see if we can find a way to broad the ship."
"Got it." Coco said as Bandicoot and the masks nod in agreement as the draconic hero faces Tawna, Nix, and Dingodile
"Nix, Tawna, Dingodile, you three must draw enemy fire away from us." The draconic hero said.
"Roger that, mate." Dingodile said with Nix and Tawna nodding in agreement as the draconic hero faces Cortex.
"Cortex, you must find a way to stop Oxide from leaving." Dragnarok finished.
"I'll see what I can do." Cortex said.
"Okay everyone... Let's go!" Dragnarok shouted as the cheered.
Once everyone was split up, Dragnarok, Bandicoot, Coco, and the masks headed into the space station.
"Let me help." Ika-Ika said as he attaches himself to Bandicoot's back, giving him armor.
Our heroes then ran through the station, using Ika-Ika's gravity powers to avoid enemies, such as shrimp-looking creatures and members of Oxide's species electrifying the floor and walls, as well as various traps, such lasers.
They soon reached a big window, where they saw a giant ship about to take off.
"Marvelous!" Cortex's voice ranged out as a green beam of energy hits the ship, holding it in place.
"Tractor beam... enabled." A computerized voice said.
"Looks like Cortex did his part." Dragnarok said before pressing on.
Avoiding more enemies, now including more members of Oxide's species in mini UFOs or trying blast them with energy cannons, as well as lasers, and burning pipes (And finding another VHS tape), our heroes soon found a rail leading to Oxide's ship.
"That way." Coco said.
Railing grinding across, they entered the ship, where they made their way to the hanger.
"It looks like we're on route to the Rift Generator." Coco said, looking at her tablet. "But we'd be a lot faster in... that!"
She then pointing to a nearby hovercraft.
But before then can approach it, a rope shoots out and ties them together. Tawna reveals herself as the culprit as she steps forward to tighten the knot.
"What the — Tawna?!" Coco asked in shock.
"I'm not losing you guys in this dimension too. I'll handle this." Tawna said before jumping into the hovercraft and flying through the airlock.
"But... we're a team..." Coco said softly as she, Bandicoot, and Dragnarok looked at hovercraft flying away.
Tawna looks back briefly, but soon returns her focus to flying, a glare of determination on her face.
Back with our tied out heroes...
"Oi! What'd I miss...?" Dingodile asked in a concerned tone as he, Nix, and Cortex approached the heroes with worried looks.
"Tawna took a hovercraft we found and is heading to the Rift Generator alone." Dragnarok said as Nix unties the heroes. "I think she's planning on facing the N. Tropys by herself!"
"That's suicide!" Cortex shouted in shock.
"There's no way she'll handle both at once!" Nix shouted, adding his two cents.
"Look, we're already on route to the Rift Generator, hopefully we'll get there in time." Coco said.
"Stowaways?! Well — hey, where'd my kart go?!" Oxide shouted through the intercom.
"Great, another problem to deal with." Dragnarok said in a annoyed tone. "Let's split up. Me, Bandicoot, and Coco with take the vents. Nix, Cortex, and Dingodile, you three take the main hallway. Perhaps we could take control of the ship and get to the Rift Generator faster."
With a plan in mind, the gang split up.
Entering the vents, Dragnarok, Bandicoot, Coco, and the masks through before exiting into a hallway.
"This way." Coco said as Ika-Ika attaches himself to her back.
Moving through and using Ika-Ika's powers to avoid hazards, they entered another vent.
"I swear I left my kart parked right there..." Oxide said through the intercom.
Making their way through the vent, our heroes heroes had to avoid getting crushed by pistons and being fried by lasers.
"My sixth kart stolen this year." Oxide said with a sob. "My wife's gonna kill me."
Exiting the vent, Akano attaches himself to Bandicoot, who uses his power to blast through some enemies before reach another vent.
Getting through in, our heroes found themselves at a control station, where the handler instantly fled upon seeing the group.
"Attention crew: asteroid field ahead, buckle your seatbelts!" Oxide shouted.
"Oh boy..." Dragnarok said as he and the others gain nervous looks.
Suddenly, the entire ship shakes.
"We're hit! Unbuckle those seatbelts and FIX MY SHIP!" Oxide ordered.
"We need to find the others and get out here." Dragnarok shouted.
Taking an elevator to the lower floors, our heroes found Nix, Cortex, and Dingodile.
"Oi! What's going on?!" Dingodile shouted as alarms blared.
"The ship was hit by an asteroid and is going down!" Coco shouted.
"Quickly minions, prepare Master an escape pod!" Oxide ordered.
Running through the lower floor (And find another VHS tape), our heroes found a hovercraft just big enough for them to squeeze in.
"Get on!" Coco shouted as she took the wheel.
"ABANDON SHIP!" Oxide cried as our heroes boarded the hovercraft.
Once they were all in, they took off through the airlock.
"Okay everything, with this, we'll reach the Rift Generator in no time!" Coco said proudly.
Only for the hovercraft's fuel dial to start flashing a big red E.
"...They forgot to refuel this thing, didn't they?" Dragnarok asked in a deadpan tone.
Before anyone could say anything else, the hovercraft started plummeting to the surface of a nearby planet.
Everything let out a scream as the ground became closer and closer.
Thinking fast, Dragnarok, using his Earth elemental abilities, encases everyone in a giant Earth Boulder, letting them hit the ground and be mostly unharmed.
Dispelling the boulder, the draconic hero looks at his allies.
"Is everyone okay?" He asked.
"Could've been better." Nix groaned as he got onto his feet. He then looks around. "Where are we?"
"We're on Bermugula." Cortex said as he looks around. "There's an portal that'll take us to the Rift Generator. had it installed on the planet's surface as a precaution." He then points to a nearby cave. "We'll have to travel the rest of the way on foot. It's quite the distance, but if we hasten our steps, then perhaps we'll make it on time."
"Then let's get going!" Coco shouted as the entered to cave.
Going through the cave, our heroes avoided what looks to be crosses between moray eels and angler fish snapping at them when they got close to their homes.
Once they reach the other side of the cave, they came across more strange thing.
More of the shrimp things from before, giant flying turtles, alien-looking jellyfish, pink goo that was slippery to stand on, and vents the spew fire periodically.
"What's with this planet?" Dragnarok asked.
"It seems that life here had evolved to be both aquatic and terrestrial." Coco said, taking an educated guess.
Everyone then noticed a group of small, lizard-like creatures that were aquamarine in color and had cream-colored frills.
"What are those things?" Dingodile asked.
"Those are Shnurgles." Cortex said , causing the others to look at him. "One of the natives of this planet that I had time to study. Judging by their size, these must be cubs."
"Cubs, as in babies?" Nix asked.
"Indeed, as adults Shnurgles are of tremendous size." Cortex said before gaining an idea. "Maybe we can use them to getting to the Rift Generator!"
"What do you mean, Doc?" Dingodile asked.
"Shnurgles can move at greats speeds, even as cubs." Cortex stated. "If we ride them, we can get to the Rift Generator faster. Luckily for us, Shnurgles, or at least the cubs, are quite friendly, and if we treat them nicely, they'll no doubt let us ride them."
"Good plan, but I see a problem." Coco said as she points to the Shnurgles. "There are six of us, and there only five Shnurgles."
"Indeed, that's a problem, as I don't think a cub will be strong enough to carry two people." Cortex said, scratching his chin.
As everyone pondered what to do next, Dragnarok noticed something.
A small distance away from the group was a lone Shnurgle cub, trying, and failing, to get a weird looking fruit from a tree.
However, this Shnurgle was different. As the other were aquamarine skin and cream-colored frills, this one had dull purple skin and a yellowish frill.
"Guys, I found a sixth Shnurgle." Dragnarok said pointing the cub in question. "I'll befriend this one, you guys take the rest."
The draconic hero then walks up to the dull purple Shnurgle, causing it to noticed his presence and back away.
"Hey, I'm not going to hurt you." Dragnarok said in calm matter. He then picks the fruit from the tree before handing to the Shnurgle. "Here, you wanted this, right?"
The dull purple Shnurgle approached in a cautious matter at first. But sensing that Dragnarok wasn't going to hurt it, and was giving it the fruit it was after, the creature took a bite of the fruit before digging in.
Once finish, it walked up the draconic hero and began nuzzling him.
"Nice to meet up too." Dragnarok said as he pets the creature's head. "Listen, we need to get this Rift Generator as quickly as possible. Can I ride on your back?"
The Shnurgle stared at Dragnarok for a bit before walking behind him, going under his legs, and hoisting him onto it's back.
"I'll take that as a yes." The draconic hero said with smile. He then turns to the others, seeing them on the backs of the other Shnurgles. "Okay, everyone, let's ride!"
And with that, they took off.
After jumping along the backs of the flying turtles and avoiding some of more hostile wildlife, including starfish-like that try to nab them and a adult Shnurgle that almost trampled them, the gang so reached the entrance of a cave.
Seeing that the Shnurgles were too tired to continue on, and not willing to enter the cave, everyone dismounted their rides.
"Thanks for taking us this far." Nix said as he waves goodbye the Shnurgles, who take off into the wilderness.
All but one that is.
The dull purple Shnurgle looked at the leaving Shnurgles with a sad look.
"Aren't you going with them." Dragnarok asked, only to get a sad whine.
"I don't think he-." Coco started, only to get an annoyed look from the Shnurgle. "I'm sorry, she, belongs to that group."
"Then where is the group she belongs to?" Nix asked, only to see a sad look on the Shnurgle.
"If I were to hazard a guess, then I think she was kicked out due to her coloration." Cortex said.
Seeing the depressed look on the Shnurgles face, the group could see that this was indeed true.
Dragnarok, feeling bad for the creature, rubs her head in a comforting matter.
"There, there." He said before getting an idea. "Why don't come with us?"
The Shnurgle perks up at this and begins nuzzling the draconic hero.
"Are you sure this is a good idea?" Cortex asked in a unsure tone.
"Might as well. Animals who are ostracized don't survive for long." Aku Aku said, show his support for the idea.
"Great! Now, we name for her." Coco said.
"...Prill. Her name will be Prill." Dragnarok said causing everyone to look at him with confused looks. "It's a portmanteau. It combines purple and frill."
Prill seemed to like the name, as she gave the draconic hero a lick on the cheek.
"Prill it is!" Aku Aku said with a smile.
With their new companion in tow, the gang presses on.
Using Ika-Ika's powers, they made they're way through the wilderness (Find another VHS tape along the way) and once again getting help from the group of Shnurples from earlier.
So enough, they've reached the portal.
"Okay guys, beyond that portal are the . Let's do this!" Dragnarok shouted before he and the others jumped through he portal.
At the rift generator, Tawna is knocked back by a blast of energy. Both N. Tropys smirk at her maliciously before N. Tropy (F) lashes out with her tuning fork, knocking Tawna to the ground. N. Tropy (F) picks up Tawna by catching her neck between the prongs of her tuning fork, looking her in the face as she struggles to get out.
"What's the matter, hero? Couldn't solo this one?" She taunted.
"Let her go!" Coco demanded as she and the others emerge from a Quantum Rift.
"The last time I killed her friends, her screams were exquisite." N. Tropy (F) said, causing Bandicoot and Coco to gain shocked looks.
"Delicious!" N. Tropy said before looking at the heroes. "Let's make this fun. Give them a sporting chance!"
"Ooh!" N. Tropy (F) said, liking the idea. She then throws Tawna to the ground, who lands at Bandicoot, Dragnarok, and Coco's feet. The siblings and draconic hero quickly rush forward to check if she's okay.
"Let's see what you mongrels can do as a pack!" N. Tropy (F) shouted.
The whole group looks up in fear. The N. Tropys slam their tuning forks into the ground in unison, making a massive burst of energy that sends Dragnarok, Bandicoot, and Coco unconscious on a floating piece of stone by a quantum rift in space. Akano emerges from the rift and looks at them.
"AWAKE." The Mask of Dark Matter ordered, causing the three heroes to get up with a groan. "FOLLOW."
Akano turns and goes back into the rift. Lani-Loli then emerges, looking that the three will a look of determination. He then releases a burst power, giving all three heroes his power at once.
"Come on!" The Mask of Phase said before flying through the rift, with the three quickly followed.
Once through, the three grinded on rails of energy through the shattered remains of the worlds they visited, using Lani-Loli's power to forge a path.
As they grinded, voices of their friends and enemies could be heard ringing in the air.
"...a door between dimensions..."
"...reality-shattering proportions..."
"...interdimensional domination..."
"...putting all of time and space in trouble, right?..."
"...something monumentally stupid!..."
"...RAWK-IT HED!..."
"...not from our universe!..."
"...I fly solo..."
"...Best get a move on..."
"...ban-di-coot..."
"...I mean everything..."
"...is this all there is, forever?..."
"...I am just curious man..."
"...How's my little brother?..."
"...a new partner..."
"...scheming behind my back?!..."
"...Just what is going on?..."
"...All a matter of perspective..."
"...a way out of our endless cycle..."
"...tryin' to get home..."
"...we can't close the rifts until we stop whatever's opening them..."
"...this insect..."
"...kick some N. Tropy butt!..."
"...Don't listen to the serpent's whisper..."
"...I will become a god!..."
"...I will help you! I promise!..."
"...Woah!..."
The three soon entered a rift, where it put on a platform.
For there, they were able to see the Rift Generator, with two rings of stone platforms orbiting it, with the inner ring moving faster than the outer one. Inside were the Tropys with a tied up Tawna, Cortex, Nix, Dingodile, and Prill.
"In my universe bandicoots are considered pests. As fit for extermination as a housefly." N. Tropy (F) said as she and her male counterpart sneered at the incoming heroes.
"Oh, how modern. Tell me more." N. Tropy said as Akano appears and gives all three of the heroes his power.
As Dragnarok, Bandicoot, and Coco used the Dark Matter Spin to hover across the platforms, the Tropys sent a device that shot laser after the heroes.
"Some keep them as pets, but I find it disgusting. I much prefer spiders." N. Tropy (F) said.
"Mmm, yes. So elegant, spiders." N. Tropy said.
Our heroes soon reached the inner ring, where Kupuna-Wa appears and gives the three her power.
"So many little legs to pull." N. Tropy (F) said as the three heroes used Kupuna-Wa's powers to cross the fastmoving platform.
"Ooh, wicked." N. Tropy said.
Our heroes soon reached the Rift Generator, where Ika-Ika appears and gives the three his power.
"Oho, our lost puppies found their way home." N. Tropy (F) taunted.
"Let's put them down." N. Torpy said with a evil smirk. "Activate the security lasers!"
Various laser beams emerges around the Rift Generator, but our heroes, using Ika-Ika's power, knocked them out.
"Enough! I won't be foiled by a lizard and a pair of fleabags!" N. Tropy shouted as he began chasing the heroes with a wave of energy, as more laser activated, as well as N. Tropy (F) firing bolts of energy from the side. "TIME to die!" Our heroes, using Ika-Ika's powers and some quick thinking, destroyed the lasers, causing to send a bolt of energy into N. Tropy. "No!"
"I'll squash these bugs!" N. Tropy (F) shouted as she began chasing the heroes with a wave of energy, just as more lasers activate, as wellas N. Tropy firing bolts of energy.
But just like before, our heroes destroyed the lasers, causing them to send a bolt of energy into N. Tropy (F).
The Tropys, in one last desperate attempt, coated their tuning forks in energy before flying at the bandicoot siblings, ready to skewer them.
The two closed their eyes in fear, ready for a world of hurt. When they felt nothing, they opened their eyes to see Dragnarok holding the N. Tropys back.
"You may have managed to kill your universe's Bandicoot and Coco..." The draconic hero said as he looks at a slightly frighten N. Tropy (F). "But these two have something that they didn't; Me!"
Dragnarok then releases a blast of Aether, sending the Tropys flying into the Rift Generator.
"Curse you..." N. Tropy groaned as he slid to the floor.
"...bandicoots!" N. Tropy (F) finished as she slid to the floor as well.
Bandicoot stands and looks at the defeated Tropys triumphantly before doing a dance.
"We did it!" Coco cheered as Tawna, who managed to free herself along with Nix, Cortex, Frill, and Dingodile, walks up to her.
"Yeah, we did." Tawna said before she and Coco high-fived.
Nix then runs up and hugs to two.
"So glad you guys are alright." He said before letting the bandicoot girls go with with a slight blush.
Prill jumps into Dragnarok's arms and began licking his face rapidly.
"Glad your okay too, girl." The draconic hero said as he pats the shnurgle's head.
Cortex, meanwhile, approaches N. Tropy with a smirk on his face, ready to gloat.
"What's the matter? Unable to handle even this simplest of tasks?" Cortex mockingly asked. "I no longer have need for our—"
Before Cortex can finish, Dingodile whack the N. Tropys with his tail, sending them flying.
"Bloody dags." The crocodile/dingo hybrid said to himself.
"...alliance." Cortex finished, upset that his epic moment was ruined.
The Tropy ended up flying into rift that Kupuna-Wa was overlook.
"Right then! Let's plug up these holes!" The Mask of Time said.
Lani-Loli, Akano and Ika-Ika nod before joining Kupuna-Wa around the rift generator.
The Quantum Masks grunt in exertion as they concentrate their powers before beginning to rapidly spin around the Rift Generator, causing an explosion of bright golden light.
The group look around in awe as beams of light shoot out.
All around the multiverse, the rifts close up.
Finally the masks stop spinning, and, exhausted, float back over to the main group.
"Oi, not that it ain't been fun, but about my ticket home...?" Dingodile asked.
"Right! Now that we've mended things, we can take you anywhere, anywhen..." Kupuna-Wa said.
Nobody noticed Cortex putting his hand on his chin and smirking in thought.
"...after we rest. For now I can only get us as far as the culinary capital of the universe: Neon City!" Kupuna-Wa declared.
The group all smile in appreciation. A celebration was in order.
Lani-Loli opens a rift and motions to it eagerly.
Tawna holds her right hand up to Coco, who takes it. She then holds her left hand out to Nix, with a slightly surprised look, takes it.
The three walked into the rift, with others following suit.
"Mmm... nachos." Akano muttered with a smile as he flies through.
And that's that!
N. Tropy and his partner, a female version of him, have been defeated, and the multiverse is saved!
However, our adventure is not over just yet. But for now, a celebration is order!
