Episode 11: Break Back Mountain
"Last time, on Total Drama," Chris opened along with the capstone theme, the recap montage beginning with a shot of the island malfunctioning – mountains growing, trees changing, storms suddenly popping up. "We had some, uh, 'technical difficulties'," Chris said as a chill wind blew a raccoon past the camera, and a volcano grew before the contestants' eyes. "Then someone, clearly not me," he added over a shot of Leonard accidentally launching a group of tree-rockets, "accidentally activated the island's automated self-destruct sequence." The monitor displaying the self-destruct timer was shown popping up between the host and campers, and the montage flashed away.
"We had an hour to shut down the main computer," Chris explained over a clip of him explaining the challenge to the cast by way of a series of images on his tablet, "or the island would blow! Killing everyone who wasn't aboard a fancy helicopter," he said over a clip of himself being lifted off by the military helicopter as he formally began the challenge.
"Sam and Leonard made it to the control room with loads of time," he continued as the two were shown entering the room. "And Leonard decided to use the keyboard without fully understanding what he was doing," he said over Leonard pressing a button that got Sam chased away by the bear. "With the power of teamwork and cooperation," he continued as the montage flashed ahead to Leonard opening the door for the campers to come in, "the teens carefully shut down the main computer," he added over as Zoey was shown standing triumphant next to the deactivated self-destruct timer.
"I wanted to have an elimination ceremony," Chris said over everybody standing near the cannon, "but since Leonard resigned, I decided to just shoot him away and call it a night," he said over a clip of Leonard making his speech before being blasted into the night.
The montage ended, and the scene cut to Chris standing proudly in front of a bare rock wall. "Today, five will compete," photographs of each of the Final Five slid into view around him; Alejandro and Jasmine on the left; Sam in the middle; Zoey and Tyler on the right. "And it will be sweet! Who will go kabloom, or should I say...whom? Whom cares! Let's start the show. It's Total! Drama! Paaaaaaahkitew Island!"
The camera zoomed outward as always, and at its greatest extent revealed the current state of the island: the left half smoldering and the right half partially frozen; remnants of the damage done to it the previous episode.
XXXXX
A lilting tune began as the episode opened on the partially-ruined island, the shot soon moving to the long-banged male intern pushing the frozen sasquatch over to the chubby male intern, who took out a blowdryer and started using it on the ice.
\
The music continued as the scene flashed to the treehouse, a bird flying happily past the camera before it moved inside to focus on Tyler. He was sleeping peacefully in his bed, but the sound of heavy footsteps caused him to open his eyes and yawn – and the camera pulled back to reveal that he was on the top bunk of the set of beds he was sleeping in.
"I never liked bunk beds," Tyler said, "but after days of sleeping on the floor, I have to say they're really comforting."
"I share the same opinion as you," Alejandro commented, the camera pulling back even further to show the arch villain coming over to him. "Bunk beds are less suitable than stuffed beds, but I'm not going to dwell on that."
"There's three boys and two girls," Tyler said. "And you want me and Sam to work with you to make the finals."
"How did you know I was going to say that?" Alejandro smirked.
"I thought you were going to tell me that, and I was correct, I guess," Tyler told him.
"You were," Alejandro nodded. "Sam's out collecting food, so we'll just wait for him to finish so we can recruit him in our alliance."
"Totally," Tyler agreed. "If Bridgette was still here, I'd have trouble going against her, but things are easier now."
Confessional: Alejandro
"This is why I'm glad to have executed Bridgette from the game," Alejandro smiled. "I have Tyler's trust and loyalty in my hand, and nothing can take those away from me."
"Sam does have feelings for Dakota, but since she's not competing in the challenges, I can trust Sam to stay focused in the alliance," he continued. "Once we're in the final three, I'll dispose of the two boys like I do with my shoes that get ruined by gum on the soles."
Confessional Ends
"So," Jasmine said as the scene cut to her and Zoey in the girls' side of the treehouse, "now that we're in the Final Five, we have to be careful of every move we make. We need a strategy to get us to the end."
"We just have to win the challenges and get immunity, and then we can vote out the person we don't want," Zoey replied as she finished touching up on her headband.
"That is true," Jasmine spoke up, "but we also need a way to make sure we aren't the ones voted off."
"I say the two of us should form an alliance to vote out the boys," Zoey said.
"Definitely," Jasmine said. "They outnumber us three to two, and they're obviously going to take advantage of the gender imbalance to beat us."
"I'm glad you're on my side," Zoey smiled. "Out of the three, Alejandro is definitely the stronger out of them. Sam and Tyler are pretty good, but in comparison to him, they don't stand a chance."
"Alejandro is my friend though," Jasmine said.
"I know that, but if he wins immunity today, we'd automatically lose our shot in the finale," Zoey brought up. "We can't take any chances."
Confessional: Jasmine
"I'm a bit unsure about voting for Alejandro, but I will go through with it," Jasmine sighed. "If I voted off Cameron for being too fragile, then what would be wrong with voting off Alejandro for being too powerful?"
Confessional Ends
The scene moved to Sam and Dakota walking through the forest. Sam was picking fruit off bushes and trees and putting them in his basket. "Pomegranates are one of my favorite fruits," Sam said as he pulled one off a tree. "Want one?" he offered Dakota.
"I'd take one, but I'm watching my daily calories," Dakota replied.
"Okay then," Sam said, putting the fruit in his basket.
"I'm sorry I wasn't able to help you guys out when your lives were in danger," Dakota said. "Chris wouldn't let us interns do anything but assist him, even though you were gonna die!" she exclaimed in frustration, but returned to normal. "I'm happy you're still alive. Nobody understands me like you do."
"Really?" Sam's eyebrow went up.
"Everybody sees me as just a pretty rich girl, and I am, but nobody really gets to see me beyond my looks," Dakota continued on. "But when I first met you, you changed everything for me. You saw me for my flaws and personality, and with your help, I managed to work for a change."
"That's sweet of you to say," Sam smiled. "I got over my video game withdrawal and became less dependent on games, and who was responsible for it? You were. I tend to be seen as awkward and goofy, but you didn't judge me for that."
Confessional: Sam
"After all the time we've spent together, I feel like it's finally time for me to confess my feelings to Dakota," Sam beamed. "Wish me luck, guys!"
Confessional: Dakota
"I'm going to do it!" Dakota squealed. "I'm going to tell Sam I love him! I can't hold it off any longer!"
Confessional Ends
The static cut away to show Sam. "Dakota, there's something I have to tell you."
"I also have something to tell you as well, Sam," Dakota added.
They both took a deep breath, before they simultaneously uttered out "I like you, even more than you like me!" The two smiled at each other as they spoke, and blushed after they confessed their feelings.
"That came out at the same time," Dakota giggled.
"I know, and it was unintentional," Sam chuckled.
"But anyway, I love you and I'd like to start a relationship with you if it's not any trouble," Dakota said.
"I'd love to be your boyfriend," Sam said. "It's amazing to have new players in my life."
They began to get closer to each other, and just as their faces were about to touch, they were cut off by the sudden ear splitting sound of feedback coming over the camp's loudspeaker, causing the couple to wince and cover their ears.
"Sorry! Sorry about that, "Chris apologized. "Seems like every time I press this button," the high-pitched screech of feedback came over the loudspeaker once more, the shot cutting to Zoey and Jasmine as they were shown wincing and covering their ears as well. "Yup, it's definitely this button," Chris said. "Anyway," the shot cut to one of the booming loudspeakers, "time to join me at the base of Mount McLean. I just named the mountain," he explained. "I named it after me. Y'know? McLean? Cause I'm awesome? Aaaanyway," the shot cut back to Tyler and Alejandro, the two boys listening as well, "just get over here prrrron-tooo!"
\
A flash took the scene to a barren and rocky mountain trail, Chris and Chef standing on a slightly higher rock near the edge of a cliff while the Final Five stood nearer to the mountainside.
"Congratulations," Chris greeted. "You should be very proud of yourselves for making it to the Final Five. Proud, and utterly terrified of what awaits you."
"Is the island gonna try and kill us again?" Zoey asked.
"Nope," Chris answered. "The island is now completely offline. Thanks to a certain somebody."
"Leonard was just trying to save your island," Alejandro called out.
"Now that he's gone, my feelings have cooled down," Chris said. "Today's challenge is called 'Mount Ever-fast'," he explained. "Which is like Mount Everest, only this mountain was modeled after one in Canada."
"Can you speed this up?" Tyler asked. "I'm getting bored."
Chris sighed in annoyance. "The rules are simple," he continued in a put-upon tone. "At the top of Mt. McLean is a flag," he explained, the camera quick-panning up to show a small pinkish pendant flag waving from a metal flagpole at the peak of the mountain. "The first one to capture the flag wins immunity, and gets to feed on a fabulous take-out dinner. The last one to make it to the top is gonna suffer. Chef?" he said, turning to the right as his assistant stepped forward with an armful of climbing packs. He tossed them at the campers and they all landed on the ground with a heavy thud as the Final Five immediately began to talk all at once, their tone questioning but their words indistinguishable.
They were cut off by a blast from Chris' airhorn. "Go!" he commanded, and a fast-paced challenge tune began as the five raced up the trail – Tyler and Zoey out front, then Alejandro and Jasmine, then Sam in the rear.
Then the music cut out abruptly as the shot returned to Chris and Chef, and the host sighed happily. "This is gonna sound crazy, but I kinda miss that motor mouth great. Mountains were created by my Great Uncle Chris," he added in a mocking tone. A light tune played as the two men burst into laughter. The host took a moment to recover, then said "Okay, time to make their lives miserable." He pulled out his remote control and pressed the button. The camera pulled back and a large green shipping crate was lowered down in front of the two men. It hung about a foot off the ground, and without warning a scaly fist and the snout of a crocodile burst through two separate parts of it.
\
The challenge music resumed as the scene moved back to the mountain trail where Zoey and Tyler were charging onward. Jasmine and Alejandro were right behind them, but Jasmine soon looked back. "Are you doing alright back there, Sam?" she asked, the shot cutting to the boy in question still running along at the back.
"I don't want to suffer the penalty Chris has for whoever gets last place," Sam said, "but I'm not built for this kind of thing!"
The shot cut to a close-up of Alejandro as he looked back and smirked, then slowed down so that he was alongside Jasmine and thus near Sam. "If you need help staying in this game, I'll be happy to be of assistance," the latino said.
"Really?" Sam asked with a smile.
Confessional: Sam
"I knew Alejandro would get me in his alliance," Sam said. "We've only been teammates for a few days, but it's the thought that counts."
Confessional: Alejandro
"I have no interest in Sam, but if I was to face him in the final two, the million dollars will be mine faster than a pup aging into a dog," Alejandro prided.
Confessionals End
"Hop on my back, and I'll carry you for a while," Alejandro offered.
"A free ride? Okay," Sam said as he darted forward and jumped onto Alejandro's back. "Promise not to turn your back on me."
Alejandro sped up so he was even with Jasmine again. "I do not plan on betraying you, friend," the arch villain said. "For now, let's catch up to Tyler."
The camera panned to Jasmine, who simply stared at the two.
Confessional: Jasmine
"Leaving Sam with Alejandro may be a bad idea," Jasmine told the outhouse camera, "but right now, I have to focus on sticking together with Zoey."
Confessional Ends
"I can't stop you two from working together," Jasmine told Alejandro and Sam before looking back over her shoulder and gasping in sudden fright, "but I do think you should hurry up!" she said in a panic, running ahead.
Sam and Alejandro looked back too, and the music suddenly became dangerous as they screamed and ran off as well. Moments later a pack of crocodiles crawled through the scene in chase.
The shot cut ahead to show the pair standing on a relatively tall and craggy piece of rock jutting out from the cliff wall, the crocodiles waiting hungrily on the path below. "Stay back, alligators!" Alejandro shot at them, but shrieked when the closest one snapped its jaws at him.
Just then, a monitor lowered down to the left with a mechanical whir, a live feed of Chris relaxing in a deck chair already on its screen. "Actually," he pointed out, "these are killer crocodiles, and if I were you, I'd get moving."
"To where?!" Sam asked before the crocodiles lunged upward, forcing him and Alejandro to jump up and cling to the corners of the massive monitor. They screamed as the crocodiles continued to jump and snap...but then something went 'baaa' off-screen, and the shot cut to the crocs looking to the right at a small goat eating flowers growing in the cracks of a rock. It looked to the side in sudden fear, then turned and fled – the bell on its neck jangling with each hop – as the crocodiles charged it.
"What?! They're leaving?!" Chris said in shock as the shot returned to the monitor. "I mean...woo! Close call," he quickly corrected. "I am so glad you two are-"
He was cut off when one of the supports holding the monitor up snapped, causing the feed to cut to static and then off entirely. The other support snapped moments later, sending the monitor – as well as Sam and Alejandro – crashing to the ground.
\
"Hey!" Chris exclaimed in anger and annoyance, the scene moving to where he was watching the challenge though his monitor was blank now as well. "How dare they break my equipment! Do you know how much I had to pay for that monitor? Twenty bucks!"
\
Sam groaned as the scene cut to him sitting on the ground next to the fallen monitor. "That bit big time. Are you okay, Al?" he turned his head and asked, the camera panning to the right to show him on the ground.
"It's Alejandro!" Alejandro corrected, "but with a few minor injuries, I'm feeling okay."
Confessional: Sam
"At first, I was simply happy to reach the merge since my parents can get me the Superstar Series S," Sam admitted. "And even though I didn't care about how far I reached as long as I didn't get cut first, I'd like to give it my all and make it to the finale. Think of all the consoles I can buy."
Confessional: Alejandro
"I have plans for what I'd do with my cash prize," Alejandro told the outhouse camera as he twirled his pocket knife in his fingers. "One of which is to transfer me and my family over to Jamaica. The scenery there is beautiful, and the music is entertaining to listen to and groove to."
Confessionals End
The scene moved to Zoey and Tyler, still running along the mountain trail. The sound of someone approaching caught their attention and the camera zoomed out and they both looked back to see Jasmine running up to them with a look of fear.
"Jasmine? What's wrong?" Zoey asked.
"And where's Alejandro and Sam?" Tyler added.
Jasmine looked back over her shoulder. "I don't know, but they might be in trouble."
"Not on my watch!" Tyler declared, skidding to a stop then charging back down the trail.
Confessional: Tyler
"No guy gets left behind," Tyler declared in determination. "I want to win the competition so I can start my own baseball team, and good sportsmanship is something I want to instill in my players."
Confessional Ends
The camera moved to Jasmine and Zoey as they looked at each other. "Did you say that to distract Tyler?" Zoey asked.
"I'm being serious," Jasmine replied. "And I didn't want to leave the boys behind. I thought they'd be behind me, but I never really made sure of that."
"They'll be fine," Zoey told her. "They made it to the final five after all."
"You're right," Jasmine said. "Sam and Alejandro can defend themselves, with or without Tyler going back to help them."
"And now we have to focus on winning," Zoey said.
Confessional: Zoey
"If I win the million dollars," Zoey explained, "I'll purchase a family entertainment center chain building so that everybody can get to know each other regardless of differences. I haven't decided on a name yet, but I'm definitely not going to call it 'Zoey'."
Confessional Ends
The static cut away to show the two girls gasping and sliding to a stop as the path in front of them ended, and the camera pulled back to show a series of flat-topped stone pillars before them and a stream of lava pouring from a crack in the mountain wall.
"Now what?" Zoey exclaimed.
Another monitor lowered down from the rock wall with a video feed of Chris on its screen. "Now you hop from one hoodoo to the next," he explained, the camera panning to the right across the hoodoos to where the trail resumed, "until you make it across. And there's a trick to it, so listen up, this is important: Don't fall," he said emphatically as the camera returned to the monitor, "to, your death." He broke out in raucous laughter, and the girls shared a scowl.
"Or we could use our gear to climb down and then back up the other side!" Jasmine shot back.
"And then back up the other side!" Zoey finished.
"Sure," Chris said with an impish smile, "if you think you have time before the crocodiles arrive."
"What?" Zoey and Jasmine repeated in confusion as a chorus of snarls rose up in the background. They looked back down the trail, and the shot cut to the crocodiles in their direction.
Confessional: Jasmine
"I'm really not scared of crocs," Jasmine confessed. "They're pretty much Australia's version of the domestic housecat, only with somewhat bigger teeth. And some say a slightly more lethal death roll. But they haven't met my Whiskers, and she's a scratcher when you try to bathe her."
Confessional Ends
"You might wanna make a decision with the whole "avoiding the crocs" thing," Chris said. "Tick tock."
The shot cut to the snarling swarm in question approaching rapidly, then back to the girls watching nervously. The footage froze, a pause symbol appearing on-screen.
\
"Well, our Final Five might not make it out alive," Chris said, the shot cutting to him in his deck chair as the capstone theme began to play. "Will it be a triple elimination ceremony? Aka, funeral? Find out next, on Total! Drama! Paaaaahkitew Island!"
(Commercial Break)
TSPI 11 (pt 2)
The episode resumed over a shot of the pack of crocodiles slowly approaching and snapping their jaws, the camera panning back to the girls and the monitor.
Confessional: Jasmine
"I know I said I'm not scared of crocs, but knowing Chris, there's probably tigers inside those crocs. And sharks inside the tigers, and you'd be crazy to not be scared of a shark dressed like a tiger dressed like a croc!" Jasmine panicked.
Confessional Ends
"Zoey, we have to jump from hoodoo to hoodoo," Jasmine told the Commando girl. "It's just one tiny hop after another!"
"I'm not scared. I'll jump," Zoey began her short jump. She landed on the hoodoo, then immediately started to slip.
The shot cut to the monitor as Chris laughed. "Oh no," he asked in feigned shock. "Did I forget to mention those hoodoos are greased?"
Zoey continued to slip before crouching down and grabbing the edge of the hoodoo, stopping her slipping.
"Zoey, hang on!" Jasmine cried out, reaching a hand out towards Zoey. Zoey grabbed her hand, and the Australian woman pulled her ally up.
Confessional: Zoey
"Jasmine saved me from falling," Zoey confessed with a smile. "Granted, I could've pulled myself up easily, but it's the thought that counts."
Confessional Ends
"Took you long enough!' Chris scolded the crocodiles as they walked up to the monitor. "Next time, would you mind attacking the contestants instead of the local game?"
One of the crocodiles burped up a collar with a bell on it identical to what the goat had been wearing. "Ewww...," Chris said in disgust.
The shot cut to Zoey jumping from the final hoodoo to where the mountain trial resumed. Jasmine hopped onto the final hoodoo afterward, but before she could jump again, Chris called out from off-screen "Swingin' log, comin' at ya!"
The girls ducked just before a log swung down from the right, sailing over their heads and continuing to the left out-of-sight. "And people say I don't care for the safety and well-being of our players," he told the camera with a mischievous smile.
The girls stood back up and Jasmine made her last jump, but as she was in the air, the camera quickly cut away to the log swinging back down, then hitting her square in the back just as she touched the ground. She shrieked in pain as she was knocked forward onto her belly.
"Jasmine!" Zoey cried out, rushing forward to Jasmine's side. "Are you good?"
"I'm fine," Jasmine said, pushing herself up but then grunting in pain and collapsing again, getting caught by Zoey.
Confessional: Zoey
"Jasmine helped me out when I was about to die," Zoey commented. "I'll carry her for a while until she regains consciousness."
Confessional Ends
A grand tune started to build up as Zoey hefted Jasmine onto her back. The social seeker continued up the trail at a spring as she started straining with every step.
The camera panned back across the hoodoos to where the crocodiles were standing, whimpering in fear at the edge of the cliff. "What's wrong?" Chris asked them, the shot zooming in on the monitor. "Afraid of a little hundred-and-fifty-foot drop? Maybe this will change your mind!"
He pulled out his remote and pressed the button, the background music turning ominous as the crocodiles' eyes turned red. They growled and crawled forward on their bellies with a growl, and the camera cut to them climbing straight down the side of the cliff.
The music abruptly cut out as the camera panned back up and to the left to show Alejandro, Tyler, and Sam arriving. "I don't see the crocs," Sam commented. "Hopefully, we're not too far behind."
They skidded to a stop at the edge of the cliff, and the camera focused in on the monitor – and Chris. "Gentlemen, welcome, you're still alive," Chris informed them. "That's okay. There's still plenty of time," he added. "And, it's a long way-" to his shock, his feed was cut off by the monitor's support suddenly breaking, sending the monitor plummeting into the hoodoo-filled gorge.
"Whoa," Tyler said as he and Alejandro looked down from the cliff's edge as Sam walked ahead while looking at the sky. "That's a long way down."
"It'll be fine," Alejandro said. "I'll help us get through this."
"Thanks, but I'm comfortable jumping through the hoodoos on my own," Tyler assured the arch villain before seeing Sam walking through the hoodoos in surprise. "How are you doing that?"
Sam walked off the final hoodoo and turned around. "Doing what?" the gamer asked in confusion before realizing his surroundings. "Hey, I made it through the hoodoos!"
Confessional: Sam
"I was thinking about how I'd improve my game room if I won, and when I'm in deep thought, I walk around just to keep my brain active," Sam said to the audience.
Confessional Ends
The static cut away to show Tyler hopping on to the final hoodoo, then quickly ducking as the log swung down from the right. Unfortunately, he did so just as Alejandro hopped onto the final hoodoo right behind him, causing them to bump into one another.
Tyler stood up in surprise, and it caused Alejandro to lose his balance. The latino started windmilling his arms as he slowly fell backwards. The music spiked as it looked like he was about to fall, but became grand and triumphant as Tyler suddenly pulled him back. "This is because I don't want you to die, not because I have feelings for you," Tyler claimed.
Alejandro's gaze drifted behind him – and his eyes suddenly widened in shock. "Look out!" he said, grabbing Tyler and pulling him into a crouch just as the log swung back over them.
Confessional: Alejandro
"I'll admit that Tyler is fairly attractive in his own way, but I am only interested in women," Alejandro confirmed.
Confessional Ends
The scene moved back to Jasmine and Zoey, the latter grunting with every step as she carried the former on her back. "Really, Zoey. I'm feeling much better. You can put me down now.," Jasmine said.
"If you say so...," Zoey said, stopping and letting Jasmine go so she could stand on her own.
They reached the end of the trail. "Hope your arms are in better shape than your legs," Jasmine said, craning her neck upward, "'cause it's time to break out the climbing gear!"
\
The scene flashed to the opening of the cave as the boys ran up to it.
"Gentlemen, if this cave has an exit somewhere higher up the mountain, we could catch up to the ladies and pass them," Alejandro said.
"But what if it doesn't?" Tyler doubted.
"It's a big risk, but if we continue to stay on the trail, we'll never catch up to the girls," Sam pointed out.
"Then what are we waiting for?" Alejandro grinned, and moments later, the three ran into the cave.
\
A dramatic tune played as the scene flashed back to the hoodoos...and the crocodiles, still red-eyed suddenly flew up with fire spewing out of their feet like rockets.
"Oh killer robot crocodiles," Chris said as the shot moved to him watching the crocodiles on his TV, "is there anything you can't do?"
\
The scene flashed back to Zoey and Jasmine, the girls now scaling the side of the mountain with Jasmine in the lead and Zoey tied to her a few yards below.
"So," Zoey called out to her partner, "what are you going to do if you win?"
The camera panned back up to Jasmine as she stuck the handpick she was using into the rock. "It's always been my dream to have my own business. A flower shop/cage-fighting school called "Roses are Red, Bruises are Blue"!"
"I've never heard anything about those," Zoey said as the focus moved back down to her, "but I'm not going to judge you."
\
The scene moved back to Sam, Alejandro, and Tyler, the trio now walking up a slope through a cave. Alejandro was in front, holding a flashlight and looking straight ahead.
"This place smells like my coach when he doesn't shower," Tyler said in disgust.
"At least we're almost out," Sam said with a smile as the group reached level ground. "I can see daylight up ahead!"
The three immediately froze in shock, and the shot jumped outward to show the three at the right end of a room full of sleeping bears, an exit to the outside world on the far left.
Alejandro shushed them as the shot cut back into him. The three started to creep quietly to the left...and then a monitor showing the live feed of Chris descended from the cave ceiling.
"HEY!" Chris greeted enthusiastically. "I SEE YOU'VE FOUND OUR BEAR CAVE!" The music rose up dramatically along with a dangerous number of angry growls and mechanical whirs. "Oops," Chris said mischievously.
The shot jumped outward again to show the bears awake and glaring at the three campers with angry red eyes.
"RUN!" Alejandro screamed, the background music booming dramatically as the three made a mad sprint for the exit.
\
The shot immediately cut to the outside, a large flat area with a small tree growing to the left. The boys ran screaming out of it and stopped in their tracks. "Help me out on this one!" Sam said, pulling a large coil of rope from his pack and handing one end to Alejandro and Tyler; the three took up positions on either side of the cave exit and pulled the rope taut between them.
Moments later, the first of the bears came charging out, only to trip on the rope and barrel end-over-end off to the left. The camera followed it as it rolled all the way off the side of a cliff with a series of metallic crashing noises, and several more bears followed it in a stream that started seconds later. Once the last one had fallen off the mountain and the din of their crashing falls lessened, the camera panned back to show the three men regrouping.
"Amigo, nice work!" Alejandro said.
"Yeah," Tyler added. "You totally saved our butts."
"I've been a gamer ever since I was young," Sam claimed. "It's made me think on my feet."
"I see that it has," Alejandro said as they began to walk to the left again. "Keep using these skills, and I may consider you a big-time threat."
Sam chuckled, but began to get serious. "Wait a minute. Are you saying that I'm weak?"
"No no no. You misinterpreted me," Alejandro backed up. "I was just saying that I rarely see you as the active type."
"Hey, gamers are athletes too!" Sam shot back. "We've got keen hand and eye coordination, cat-like reflexes."
The camera cut to show Tyler and Alejandro staring at him in confusion. "We'll keep that in mind," Tyler said.
Confessional: Sam
"Alejandro's fine, but if he's going to look down on me like that, I may have to reconsider our alliance," Sam firmly told the outhouse.
Confessional: Tyler
"Frankly, I thought what Alejandro said to Sam was a bit harsh, but at least he didn't outright bully him," Tyler said.
Confessionals End
"We're almost at the top!" Jasmine called down as the scene moved back to her on the mountain side.
"That's good news!" Zoey replied as the camera panned down to her. "Just a little more and the flag will be ours, but I'm wondering why you're so reluctant to vote off Alejandro at first."
"Well… the thing is… I already voted off Cameron once," Jasmine explained nervously.
"WHAT?!" Zoey freaked out. "Why would you do that?"
"Alejandro told me how fragile he can be, and I took it to heart," Jasmine smiled sheepishly.
"If he said that, then he's lying to you," Zoey responded. "Alejandro was just trying to get you to eliminate Cameron."
"How come you say that? Cameron isn't exactly the strong type," Jasmine raised an eyebrow.
"But he's one of the smartest people of the cast," Zoey pointed out. "Alejandro probably didn't want him here because he'd be on our side and we'd be unstoppable."
"But..." Jasmine tried to respond.
"I'm a little bit mad at you, but I'm focusing my anger on Alejandro," Zoey claimed. "We vote him off, and that'll avenge Cameron."
Confessional: Jasmine
"I don't want to lose Zoey, so for her sake, I'll definitely get rid of Alejandro," Jasmine said.
Confessional Ends
The scene flashed back to Sam, Tyler, and Alejandro, the three now running to the right up the mountain trail. "Alright, we have no idea where Jasmine and Zoey are, so we must vamanos all the way to the top!" Alejandro said.
\
A slow yet triumphant tune began welling up as the scene cut to the top of a cliff, Jasmine grunting as she pulled herself up to it. "Finally, we're here," she muttered before reaching down to her side and pulling Zoey up next to her.
"There's the flag!" Zoey said, pointing to the side. The viewpoint shifted to show the small flag billowing in the wind, but the camera then panned down to show a monitor embedded in the rock below it – and a red-eyed robotic crocodile standing guard and snapping its jaws.
"How did it even get up here?!" Jasmine asked in disbelief.
The monitor turned on to show Chris' smiling face. "Are you kidding me? These robo-crocs can do anything!" The camera zoomed out as three more robo-crocs flew down to a hover above the first, flames still coming from their feet. "They're even equipped with the latest version of MyTunes!"
The leitmotif of a certain past hot contestant began playing, and Zoey and Jasmine – now standing on the mountaintop – shared a wary look.
"Anyway," Chris told them, "they're gonna eat you. Good luck!" he said as the three hovering crocs flew towards the girls.
Jasmine and Zoey nodded at one another, and the dreamy background music was replaced by a more action-packed tune as they charged forward. The camera followed them as they met the crocodiles, Zoey jumping over the first while Jasmine slid under leg-first. The shot focused in on her exclusively as she got back on her feet just in time to front flip over the third crocodile, then continue forward.
Jasmine slid to a stop in front of the flag with a smile and kicked the fourth croc in the upper jaw as it lunged at her, but just before she could grab the flag, a scream caught her attention. "Zoey!" she turned and cried out in panic, and the shot cut to her partner fending off the jaws of one robo-croc as the other two hovered around her.
Zoey was struggling to keep the jaws from closing around her. "Don't worry, Jasmine," she told her partner, "just take the win. I'll be fine."
The music spiked, Zoey yelped, and the jaws snapped shut around her.
Jasmine gasped in horror as the shot cut back to her.
Chris just laughed. "So close," he joked.
Jasmine grabbed the flag, pulling it out of the ground and charging back towards the crocodiles with it held above her in both hands like some kind of spear.
But she quickly skidded to a confused stop as the crocodile that had swallowed Zoey suddenly stood up on two legs and started moonwalking in place, the same dreamy music issuing forth from it.
Then it exploded, taking out the two robo-crocs hovering nearby and revealing Zoey, coughing heavily and blackened with soot but otherwise alive.
Jasmine gasped in excitement, then rushed over and hugged her. "You're alive!" she said.
"I wanted to rescue myself for once," Zoey laughed then noticed the flag still in Jasmine's hands. "Looks like you won!"
Jasmine paused to look at the flag as well. "You're right. I did!" she said in delight.
\
"We have a winner!" Chris announced as the scene cut to the three boys still continuing up the mountain trail, a victorious tune playing as the three stopped and looked at the nearby monitor displaying a live feed of Chris and Jasmine. "Jasmine captured the flag and won immunity," Chris continued before leaning off-screen to the right and pulling Zoey into frame, who smiled at the camera. "Zoey got here too, so that means the next two people here won't have to suffer what I have in store for last place tonight."
Tyler, Alejandro, and Sam shared a nervous look, then started running again.
Confessional: Alejandro
"I know exactly what Chris has in mind for whoever gets last place," Alejandro confessed, "and I want nothing to do with it." he finished. "Now it's time to leave Sam and Tyler in the dust," he said with a smirk.
Confessional Ends
The static cut away to the three campers running up the trail. "My insincere apologies," Alejandro told the two as the camera zoomed in to him, "but this is where I must leave you." He stopped in front of Tyler and Sam, kicking the latter in the shin and punching the former in the gut, and they both fell down to the ground.
"Al! How can you do this to us?!" Tyler coughed. "We're friends."
Alejandro paused to laugh briefly. "I'll be honest with you two. None of you were ever my allies. You were all simply pawns in my game," he admitted.
"What are you talking about?" Sam asked.
"Do you want to know why certain people got eliminated?" Alejandro clued them in. "It was because of me. I mostly played everyone and feigned politeness just to win them over and get their votes to eliminate who was on the menu. And best of all, they never realized who I really was until it was too late for them," he smirked.
"That's unfair and you know it!" Sam scolded the arch villain.
"I can't believe I thought you were cool!" Tyler squinted his eyes at Alejandro. "All this time, you were just a womanizing slimeball!"
"That's an understatement. I wish you the best of luck in recovering fast enough to beat me to the finish!" Alejandro told them before racing off.
After a while, Tyler managed to stand up. "C'mon, Sam, we have to hurry!" he said.
Sam groaned in pain again. "Alejandro got me good when he hoofed me in the leg. You can go on ahead. I'll be fine with taking the penalty."
"Are you sure about this?" Tyler wondered.
"I'm positive," Sam nodded. "My leg needs all the time to heal. Now go before-"
A loud cheer echoed down from the mountaintop, and the camera cut to Alejandro arriving at the plateau where Chris, Jasmine, and Zoey were waiting. "And Alejandro takes third," Chris announced, turning to the monitor behind him which showed Tyler and Sam. "Tyler and Sam should probably stop working together and start trying to avoid last place."
"Good luck making your way to the top," Sam smiled at the jock while tending to his leg. "I'll catch up soon."
"I've got the speed and the determination!" Tyler smirked back and took off.
\
The scene flashed to Tyler arriving onto the plateau. "Tyler makes it to the top!" Chris announced with glee. "Sorry Sam, but that means you're in last, and because of this you're suffering the penalty, aka you're eliminated." he added as the nice-guy gamer pulled himself up into view causing everyone except Alejandro to gasp in shock.
"Aw man." Sam sighed sadly, but all Alejandro did was smirk.
Confessional: Tyler
"I'm going to talk to the girls and get their help in voting off Alejandro," Tyler confessed. "I'm not letting that dude get away with messing with me."
Confessional: Alejandro
"As I predicted. Last place would get the boot. Chris is very predictable at this point. At least now I can get rid of Tyler and all I will have to worry about is Jasmine and maybe Zoey."
Confessional Ends
The standard elimination theme opened over a shot of the moonlit island, the shot soon moving to the firepit.
"I imagined a different outcome," Chris said as the camera zoomed in to him and his plate of marshmallows, Dakota standing from afar. "But, as long as I get to shoot someone out of a cannon, I'll sleep okay."
"But before I hand out the marshmallows, remember how I said the person who got last place was gonna suffer?" the host smirked.
The shot immediately cut to Sam. "I already know where this is gonna go," he groaned.
"See, we've got one player too many hanging around. So I decided to make this a double elimination by axing whoever got last in the challenge as well as whoever got the most votes. That means Sam's the first person out of here!" Chris declared.
Sam sighed and stood up. "Well, looks like I'm out of continues," he said, "but since I don't want to leave negatively, I'll say that I'm happy to make it as far as I did. And I got a girlfriend as well," he smiled.
"You've got my respect, dude," Tyler said, "and sorry you have to leave this way."
Sam high-fived the clumsy boy, and walked out to meet up with Dakota, who was looking sad. "Dakota! You came to see me off!"
"I'm going to miss you a lot," Dakota sighed, "but I came here to give you something so you won't lose touch with me." She pulled out a piece of paper and handed it over to Sam.
"Nice. I have your phone number. I lost the game, but I did win your heart," Sam said as he hugged Dakota. "And here's my goodbye gift." He grabbed her face and kissed her. Dakota returned the favor, and eventually, they took their lips off each other and headed off to the cannon hand-in-hand.
"Ain't love so sweet?" Chris sighed before getting serious. "But we have to move on to the next eliminated person. Jasmine," the shot cut to the girl in question sitting with Zoey and smiling proudly, "you're safe thanks to winning the challenge." Jasmine caught the marshmallow that was thrown at her. "You also win dinner," Chris added with a smile as a slow country tune began to play, pulling out a brown paper bag with a picture of a bull on it. "Aaaaa takeout order from the Prairie Oyster Palace!"
Jasmine caught the bag as well, and the camera panned onto the other campers looking worried.
"Moving on," Chris said as the shot briefly cut back to him, "Tyler, you received no votes against you." The boy in question smiled as he caught his own prize, and Zoey and Alejandro tensed up. "And because of a three-vote majority," Chris said with an impish smile as he picked up the final marshmallow, "Alejandro is leaving the competition."
"Que?!" Alejandro stood up and protested. "Is this some kind of sick joke?!"
"It's not," Chris said before tossing the final marshmallow, the shot cutting to an eager Zoey catching it. "You're done, Al."
"This is unbelievable!" Alejandro ranted. "I had Jasmine and Zoey by my side."
"You manipulated Jasmine into getting Cameron eliminated," Zoey spat out. "And after what you did to Tyler and Sam, we definitely voted you off."
"Later, Al!" Tyler taunted the loser.
"Here's a little gift from me to you," Jasmine marched over to Alejandro. She swung her foot into his groin, to which the womanizer howled at, and she finished it off with a punch to the jaw, sending him to the ground. "Try and talk your way outta this now!"
Alejandro felt his jaw, and shrieked when he saw that it was broken. "My sexy jaw! My burfet symmadry! It's ruewid!" he slurred as he talked.
"Can't understand what you're saying, amigo, but it's off to the Cannon with you!" Chris instructed.
\
The scene cut to the Cannon of Shame – Alejandro and Sam both loaded into it and squirming uncomfortably. "Do we have to leave like this?" Sam asked while Alejandro continued to stay upset and frustrated at his loss. The latino had his jaw wrapped with bandages, and an ice pack was attached to it.
The shot cut to Chris as he shrugged. "We're running out on time, so you're leaving this way."
"I'll see you soon, Dakota!" Sam said right before he and Alejandro were blasted off into the night with a pair of screams.
Chris sighed in contentment as the camera panned down to him, Chef, and the Final Three. "And five becomes three," he said as the capstone theme began to play, looking over at Zoey, Tyler, and Jasmine. "Who won't taste victory? Just wait and see, on the next, Total! Drama! Paaaaaaahkitew Island!"
(Fade to Credits)
Final Three: Jasmine, Tyler, Zoey
Author's Note: Sam had almost no plot left after getting together with Dakota but I did feel he deserved the merge so I let him make it this far, as for Alejandro, I wanted to make his antagonism less predictable and dump him in the final four instead of the final three like most people.
