See you lickin' frostin' from your own hands
Want another taste, I'm beggin', "Yes, ma'am"
I'm tired of all this candy on the dry land - Cake by the Ocean by DNCE

Fridays are the worst. I know that mostly everyone loves Friday, it means that the weekend is just one bed-time away. Unfortunately, for us heroes-in-training, it means that Mister Aizawa would work us to the bone and then we were dismissed to our private workouts or to unwind the best we could before our work studies in the morning.

For me it had meant a grueling workout, a shower, and rushing out for a date for the last double handful of weeks. This Friday was no different, except that I was staying at school this time.

"I'm excited to take you to my club, Ochaco-chan." Rikido came from behind me to shadow my steps.

I grinned, "Oh yeah! Me too! What are we making?"

"I can't tell you yet." He gave a small laugh, "I wouldn't want to ruin the surprise!"

I patted my gear, "Then I'll meet you in front of the locker room in twenty."

He flashed me a victory sign before lengthening his stride. In no time Rikido had overtaken me and entered the boy's locker room. I took a deep breath in, but was soon part of the rest of the girls as we got to the lockers and the shower I was eagerly awaiting. After that, I dressed back in my uniform, departing from all other dates at this point.

"All ready to bake?"

"Mina-chan!" I stopped outside the door, "Yep! I asked what we were going to make, but he said it was a surprise."

"Sounds… delicious!" Mina laughed at her tiny pun, and I couldn't help but share in it.

"It sure does" I giggled again before opening the door, "See you later."

"Uraraka-chan!" Rikido waved from the opposite doorway.

I smiled up at him, "Ochaco is fine, Sato-kun."

The large teen smiled, scratching his neck in a bout of adolescent awkwardness, "Rikido, then. I hope you're not too hungry."

"I would love a snack," I started, "But I'm good to go!" I gave him a fist pump and a bright smile.

He led the way across campus, "I'm sort of an unofficial member of the Healthy Eating and Baking Clubs." He seemed in his element as he explained, "So many quirks are tied to food! Tenya-kun and myself are just two examples from just our class. But where would any of us be without good energy sources, right? It's important."

"Makes me wonder why some after school activities aren't more encouraged."

He nodded solemnly, "Back in middle school, you know, clubs are for teaching accountability and how to be a good adult. That hasn't changed just because we want to go Pro."

He opened an entrance on the General Studies side of Lunch Rush's cafeteria. I followed him to the back of the cafeteria where he held another door I'd never noticed before open for me. A short hallway held a few more doors labeled with club names.

"Test kitchens?"

Rikido grinned, "Got it in one. The baking club meets in the second club room."

"Rikido-kun!" A short girl with springy hair and soft lavender eyes jumped out of her seat, "You brought your friend."

"I'm Uraraka Ochaco, it's good to meet you."

A chorus of hellos and introductions rang around the room. I saw gleaming countertops and top of the line stoves, griddles, and ovens. Even what I think is a wood-burning stove! Wow. UA really is a long step above the average high school environment.

Rikido pulled out a seat for me, "Go ahead and have a seat."

He strolled to the front of the room, "Hey guys. Thanks for letting me lead today's bake!" He turned to find a small stack of paper, which turned out to be recipes. He handed them to me, so I took one off the top and passed the rest to the girl who'd greeted me initially.

"We're making Earl Grey cake with lavender buttercream." He smiled at the group, "Ochaco-chan's name can be read as 'Tea child', so I thought this would be a fun project for her."

Rikido handed me a packet of tea, "You all brought your tea? We'll start with making the tea. We can enjoy it while the cake is baking, since it's an easy recipe for us old patissiers!" Good natured giggling met this statement, and I blushed a little. This was really sweet of him. "There's enough stations and materials for us all to try our hands, so let's get baking!"

We spent over an hour with his club, making tea, baking and then frosting our creations. Although mine was a little lop-sided, it was met with enthusiasm from the rest of the club who declared that looks aren't everything. When I ate a slice before boxing the rest to share with our class, I could only agree. It was a yummy cake.

"Thanks so much," I said as we walked back. "That was a lot of fun."

"I remembered how much you, well, everyone, enjoyed my cake when we moved in. I'm glad I could introduce you to the other club members."

"Though we can't join, I guess if we have free time, it's alright!"

Rikido just smiled again, "Anytime you want to join us, you're welcome to."

AN/ So, I was rewatching MHA, and in the Christmas episode Rikado mentions that hero course students aren't allowed to take after school clubs. ;)
