Daughter Of Batman 2 Chapter 4

The criminals of Gotham would be shown known mercy by Robin and Lunar Rose.

A pair of muggers attacking a husband and wife on their way home are no exception.

The ruffians are about to potentially do serious harm to the couple when Danika and Damian choose to step in and intervene.

"Mind if we cut in," smirked Damian, raising his hands in a standard boxing stance.

The one restraining the woman tosses her aside, pulling a knife on them. Damian punches in the neck and kicks him in the stomach when the thug comes at him.

Unfurling her tessen fans, speaking to the wife, Danika said "Grab your husband and go. We'll take care of these guys for you."

The wife doesn't need to be given any further encouragement on the subject.

It's two on two. The twins each take one as their opponent.

These aren't seasons fighters they're dealing with, so it didn't take the twins long to have them sore and groaning, cradling their wounds on the pavement.

Sneering at their suffering, scathingly, Damian said "Get up, so I can hurt you some more."

"Enough, man, we give up," said one of the robbers, rolling onto his stomach.

"You should've thought of that before you decided to rob that couple," said Danika, eyes narrowed.

Ao is growling on her shoulder, his tail curled around her neck.

One of the ruffians tries to rise, but Damian kicks his directly in the face, knocking him back down.

"Who said surrender was an option," rebuffed Damian, picking up the discarded knife that was dropped during the fight.

Damian holds in in deft fingers, pausing in hesitation.

"What are you waiting for, Robin?"

That's not Bruce or Dick.

Standing on the edge of a neighboring alleyway is a man dressed in armor from head to toe carrying owl characteristics. Danika doesn't recognize him, but Damian does. This is the man that had killed the Dollmaker right in front of him just days prior.

Talon.

Danika instantly raises her tessen fans into a defensive position in case he's gearing up to take them on, too.

Unfazed by the display, Talon said "Men like this don't deserve to live. I won't finish it for you this time. The decision has to be yours."

That pretty much confirms for Danika that this is the guy that murdered Dollmaker, not Damian.

Her brother had been telling the truth all along.

Damian stares at the troublemakers, considering them as they cower before him.

He can't do this. Just as Danika is about to open her mouth to stop him sirens are heard rapidly approaching in the distance. Seems like the husband and wife pair had notified the cops the moment they reached a safe distance.

Ironic how these two are saved from Damian's wrath by the police. Judging by their faces they'd rather be arrested by the cops than left for Damian.

Time to make tracks.

Not planning on sticking around Talon bolts, jumping from balcony to balcony on the fire escapes.

Entirely ignoring the ruffians, taking off in pursuit of this stranger, Damian said "Wait! Who are you?"

"My name is Talon. Come on," said Talan, disappearing over the rooftop.

Damian takes off in pursuit, a mixture of curiosity and intrigue getting the better of him, leaving Danika no other option but to follow in order to keep track of him.

Talon is waiting for them up top. Making sure the twins keep up with his pace, Talon leads them to his own hideout.

A loft in a supposedly middle-class section of Gotham City.

Talon moves aside part of the skylight windows and the three of them enter.

The twins lower the hoods on their cloaked capes as they begin to look around.

"What is this place," asked Damian.

Switching on the lights for the entire loft, Talon said "Home."

All around the place are various different owl costumes, including weapons to go with them from alternate ages and times.

Danika makes a mental note of every single one she sees for later on. Especially the owl insignia shining on the center of the floor over the twins.

"You can speak freely here," encouraged Talon, invitingly, pulling a pair of sais from where they're hanging on a wall. "My respect for Batman and all he's achieved is high. But there are lines he won't cross. Perhaps out of fear or some misguided moral code. There are no lines I won't cross in order to reach my goal."

"So you've come to Gotham to…," Danika, leaving the line open for him to finish her sentence.

"To do what Batman refuses to do," finished Talon with conviction. "Eradicate crime and criminals once and for all."

Talon then makes fatal stabs at crucial junctures in the neck, face, and eyes, of one of the displays of full armor for emphasis.

Ao chitters anxiously. Danika quietly shushes him, stroking her fingers over his back fur to calm him.

Damian is unaffected. In fact, what Talon just did is rather endearing to him. Reminds him of back when they used to be with the League of Shadows.

"No lines, no limits, no rules," said Talon, tossing Damian one of the sais.

Examining the weapon closely, Damian said "You're saying the end always justifies the means."

Nodding in confirmation, Talon said "If the goal is a worthy one."

Brow quirked, Damian said "Who decides what's worthy?"

"That takes an exceptional human being," stated Talon,

"Like you," said Damian.

"And you. The both of you," said Talon.

Smiling at the underlying praise in Talon's tone of voice, twirling the sai in his hand Damian aims it straight into the helmeted forehead. Tugging it out Damian holds it out to return it to the proper owner.

Holding out a palm in refusal, much to Damian's surprise and pleasure, Talon said "Keep it. A gift."

Talon offers the seconds to Danika.

"No, thank you," said Danika, politely, concealing her uncertainty and unease with an expressionless face.

"Why me," said Damian. "Why us?"

Moving with purpose, Talon said "We're kindred spirits. I've been watching you especially for some time, Robin. I want you to join me."

Stopping there is no accident. In two glass cases adjacent to them are separate owl costumes exactly Damian and Danika's size. Beneath the cloaks are white full-face masks. If he already has these prepared, then Talon must be genuine about what he's saying.

"And if we say no," said Damian, arms crossed.

"When you've made your decision, use this to contact me. It's not a tracking device. Feel free to give it a thorough inspection," said Talon, handing Damian a small communicator.

All he has to do is press the button on the end and Talon will know what Damian's decision will be.

Pocketing it in his utility belt, smiling pleasantly at how this encounter has gone, Damian said "I will."

"Oh, and one last thing," said Talon, firmly. "Don't tell him about me."

This isn't a request.

Grinning, pulling the hood back over his head, Damian promised "Not a word. From either of us."

The last part was spoken with a warning glance at Danika.

Out of the both of them, he's well aware that his sister is more than likely to relay all that transpired here to Bruce. If Danika wants to prove to him that she's still on his side, then she'll keep her mouth shut in loyalty to Damian.

Although Danika already had decided what her choice will be.

But Danika's not foolish enough to let them figure it out yet.

Authors Note:

Heads up everyone there's someone on fanfiction you need to seriously watch out for. Early a couple of days ago after I woke up I was checking my email and I saw I had a new guest review on my A Dog's Purpose Is Strange Magic 2 sequel. I took a look at it and got a very big shock. Some random person I've never spoken to before on here or anywhere else in my life was basically threatening me. Intimidating and practically ordering me to write a threatening letter to someone on their behalf, telling to stay off of for life or else they and everyone else close to them would be killed, disgustingly telling them to kill themselves. And at the bottom of the message this crazy person wasn't done. Warning me that if I don't send the letter then they would kill me and for confirmation to email them to make absolutely sure I complied with their demands. Of course, I did nothing of the sort. Instead of doing what they wanted I reported them to the website, sent copies of this deplorable guest review message to police officer cousins of mine so they could have it on file, and I went to a nearby police station and reported it.

When I spoke to the police officers and they checked everything on the message they saw, that while the address and names of business were accurate the people and their names were not. They agree it was more than likely a scam because of the email address on the bottom in order to perhaps get access to personal information or potentially hack my computer. Despite that I'm still very happy they took it seriously as I showed and told them everything. All the same I'm still very happy that I brought this to the attention of law enforcement. Even though the entire thing might be fake I'm still very happy to have brought this to the attention of those who can do something about it if it was legit in someway. This may have been a scam, but it's obvious these people are beyond irresponsible if they try to goad people into sending death threats to random strangers just to get access to info.

Be that as it may if this does unfortunately happen to you do not send any messages to the email addresses they put down and I HIGHLY RECOMMEND that you bring the message to the authorities immediately whether it is legit or not.

Because it's a guest review it might not be visible for a couple of days as it loads if it is sent to you. But when it does you should definitely pressing the report abuse button and send it to the email that leads to the support staff that is available.

Just a heads up to those of you who aren't aware of this yet, Email alerts for this website are now only active if Email opts is enabled in account settings.

I hope you all like this one! I certainly did while writing it for your vast enjoyment! ;D

For those of you just starting out with my stuff there are other works on my profile that may catch your interest. I highly recommend you take a look as soon as the opportunity presents itself to you. Who knows, you may be pleasantly surprised by what you discover.

Stay safe everyone. Especially with all of these crazy natural disasters occurring a lot lately due to global warming and climate change everywhere for sure. I swear it's like they're getting worse and worse all the time and it's like officials are simply just ignoring it or pretending it doesn't exist entirely just to go on with their daily lives. Especially those in multi-million dollar companies that rely on certain elements of our planet that we rely on to naturally keep us safe instead of adapting and finding new safer ways to keep in business. There are so many options out there where they can adapt, but they just refuse to see it because all they care about is money. Climate change is altering so much faster than anyone can really keep track of.

So, in light of all this, it is important to live life to the fullest as much as anyone can.

I know I am. ;) See you guys next time.
