Deam Kathin reels from the Royal Presentation. "They think they're the shit now. Not in my school!" Dean Kathin is sipping wine when Headmaster Chidh knocks on his office door. "Come in," he said. "Good morning. We must deliver some news to our students," Headmaster Chidh said. "Right. If this jumbie is on our campus, we must up the ante in the magical defenses." "I agree. We cannot let the burden fall on the heirs and the Knights." "Plus, we need to prove we have a handle on our school." Both men went to the main office and went on the air on the announcement camera. "Good morning, students in the Magical Attire building," Headmaster Chidh said. "You may see a packet of spells on your desk to your left. These are spells that everyone must learn by the end of the year." "It is for the protection of the school," Dean Kathin said. Rocky looks at the packet and sighs. "They change the course of the class." "Well, you better study because we must learn and apply these spells in ten weeks," Ms. Stella replies. "My head hurts," Haru said. Outside the quad, Yumi and Ulrich are cleaning the new Rhyhorns they received as presents at the Royal Prensentation. "Hold still," Yumi said as her Rhyhorn, Stella, sneezed. "Bless you," she said. Ulrich's Rhyhorn, Tyron, sleeps through the grooming. "Can you snore any louder?" Ulrich asks. Aelita walks up to them, and Stella licks Aelita. "Hey, stop that," Yumi said. "It's okay. She's cute," Aelita said. "If you say so. How is your new Altaria?" "The sass!" Yumi chuckles. "When are we going to read the plant?" Aelita asks. "Tonight. Some of us will do it. The others will be on the lookout," Yumi said. "Good. We need to see who the student is." Daah overhears the conversation and smiles. "I protected myself with rosemary oil. Plus, I took a page from Chandan/Calvin," she says with a smile. Mariam spies on her sister. "What are you up to?" "Mariam! We are needed on the Knights' Field," Devon said. "Coming," Mariam said. Daah takes out her sword. "Time to train the newbies." The trainees do squats, Pokemon, and power drills on the field. "Tired," Silver says. "Me too," Mariam said. "Little sister, keep up," Daah said. Mariam rolls her eyes. Ash sits down and drinks some water. "She looked hot in her dress," Sangharsh said. "Leave me alone," Ash said. "It's true. She did. I saw that you were getting hard." "Go back to resting in peace!" "Bothering you is better," Sangharsh teases. Ash growls and draws his sword. "Is everything okay?" Cressila asks. "Yeah. Since the beginning of the Kingdom, the Royal Advisor has helped the Queen (or King) make choices for the good of the people. The Royal Advisor sometimes plays Devil's Advocate, allowing the monarch to see both sides of a choice. At one point, the Royal Advisor was trying to outsmart a corrupt King. Both ended in disaster. When there is a Queen and a male Royal Advisor, there's conflict, like with our current Queen. Ravin Kathin, Dean of Lakeshore Academy and current Royal Advisor. He was the former King's advisor before he was the Queen's. Dean Kathin is a man who does not like to be upstage. He has taken issue with her age and ways of thinking and wishes her children were tamed.
At night, the Fairy Soldiers are in one of the upper-level rec rooms with the plant, ready for the reading, while the Knights are playing sock skating to distract Dean Kathin and Headmaster Chidh. Daah smiles as she thinks about what will go wrong. "You're next," Sajin tells Daah. Daah stans up and grabs a hockey stick. "Try to make it into the goal," Sajin says. Daah skates in her peach-colored socks and shoots the puck into the goal. "Goal," Jared said. Meanwhile, the Fairy Soldiers sit in a circle with Yumi and Ulrich in the middle. "Do you need me like last time?" Rocky asks. "Sure," Odd said. "Us too?" Dexter, Alexis, Rosé, and Apin ask. "Is that a good idea?" Aelita asks. "I think so; we have no idea what we are dealing with. Right, Allison?" Dawn asks. Allison fears answering the question because she does not want anyone else hurt. "Mom's right. I've got this. Yes. My twin will be here soon," Allison said. "I'm not doing this, but Rocky?" "Yeah," Rocky said. "We need all hands on deck." Moxie shakes her head as the lights turn off and stare at the glowing plant. In the upper lobby, Daah smiles as she sees her fellow Knights playing games. "Seven feet," Jared said. "That is a record," Aaral said. "Not so fast," Daah said. "I can beat that." She gets up and sets herself up for a down-start position. "Go!" Jared shouts. Daah skates fast as she thinks about all the times she and Sajin used to play as children. "Ten feet," Cressila said. "As I said, girls get things done," Daah said. Meanwhile, Ash and Sajin are going head to head in Hockey. "Match point," Sajin said. "Prepare to lose." "Keep telling your reflection that," Ash said. At that moment, Dean Kathin arrived. "What is going on?" "We're bonding," Jared said. At the same time, the Soldiers and friends focus all of their magic on the plant. It is bad enough all of your teens stink. At least change your socks often." Cressila rolls her eyes as Sajin speaks. "Asshole." Ash touches his shoulder. "It burns," he said. "Can I see?" Daah said. She touches it. "It will wear off. It was a truth spell." "He can't do that!" "Not as Dean, but as the Royal Advisor, since he asked about them." Dean Kathin looks at his hands. "It's green. He is telling the truth. Shit!"
Dean Kathin serves as the bridge between the ideas of people and the crown. He wants things to work smoothly on his terms. One day, Dean Kathin notices Royal Children playing tag and jumping in a fountain. "Get out!" Dean Kathin shouts. "Our mother said it was okay for us to play here," Samantha said. "Get out!" Dean Kathin said. Neo King Fredrick came by and took in the scene. "Ravin, we are allowing them to play here. This area is private," Neo King Fredrick said. "With all due respect, they need to be in training. It is their duty." "They are under the age of ten. We know what we are doing." At that moment, the Queen called her husband. Daah looks out the window as she thinks about her plan. "Right now, it should be in effect." "What plan?" Mariam asks. "The plan to distract Dean Cranky." Mariam chuckles, but she notices that her sister looks distant. Meanwhile, the plant emits white light in the rec room as everyone focuses their energy on the plants.
