Loki ran down the staircase completely forgetting he could teleport all the way down to the dungeons. He halted as he came upon Slytherins door. He laughed to himself as he remembered when he had this painting done. His good friend Godric teased him senselessly over the amount of green he had been wearing. Godric had been the only one he told about being a God though he was sure Rowena knew. She always knew things sometimes even before they happened.
"Well aren't you a sight for sore eyes." my painting said to me. "If you would, I'm in a bit of a hurry." I asked with a gesture towards the door. He walked through to the common room and headed towards the fifth year dorms. As he walked in the group of boys all turned and looked at him.
"Father!" Sleipnir said excitedly as he ran to him. Loki opened his arms and embraced his son for the first time in years. Severus looked on at his father and brother, whom he had been getting to know before their father walked in. He had found out he had two more brothers and a sister. Inside he was overjoyed. He had always wanted a big family with brothers and sisters but was content with his aunt and her family. He had lived with them for so long he had seen them as his mother and father and sister.
"Father is something wrong?" Sleipnir asked " I had planned to stay longer but it would appear my sister is in need of help." Loki said keeping eye contact with Severus.
"Mother is in trouble? I'm going with you." Severus said quickly Loki sighed as he knew this would be difficult for him to convey to his son.
"Severus, I didn't tell you to bring you with me. I told you so as not to keep it from you. I know how much she means to you, but trust that I will bring her home. I fear that this may have to do with my past and now Its come back to haunt me." Loki said as he held both his sons close. "Sleipnir I do have something I would like for you to do. It would seem your grandfather is in a very giving mood. This is where your brothers are located. I need for you to find them and bring them here. Once here the portrait that's at the entrance of these dorms will be able to tell you how to get to my personal chambers here." Loki was about to continue when one of the other boys in the dorm gasped and yelled " Your Salazar Slytherin!"
" Yes I am, how observant of you" Loki rolled his eyes. "It might be easier for Jör to get into the chamber but I would like for all of you to be here. Once there you'll be able to contact your sister. Let her know what's going on and if she's able to keep an eye out for anything ask her to do so. I hope to return soon." Loki said bringing both his boys to him. "Look after each other and please try not to worry."
"I just got you. I don't want to lose you." Severus said in a quiet voice. "I know and I wouldn't be going anywhere if I didn't have to but our family is in trouble and we do all we can to protect our family. I won't be gone long and when I return I'll have my sister with me. "Loki said in a hushed tone as he looked at Severus.
Severus nodded and released Loki. "Hurry back." Loki gave one final glance at his sons and was out the door.
"I know you're worried but there's no time like the present to go on an adventure of our own. What do you say brother?" Sleipnir turned, asking Severus. Severus, still looking at the door, turned and looked to his brother then down at the map. "It would appear that Jör is close… really close." Just then there was a slap on the window that showed the black lake. An emerald eye was all that could be seen. The boys looked at each other then back at the window. "You don't think that's him do you?" Ask Sleipnir. "How would I know. I've never met him." said Severus. The eye rolled at them as if it knew they were talking about him and over the conversation.
"He says to meet him at the lake." Salazar's portrait said. The boys ran out of the dorm and up the stairs to the main entrance of Hogwarts. They raced down the hill to the black lake. They came to a halt trying to catch their breath. "Do you see him?" Asked Severus once he got his breathing under control. Just then a giant serpent head came out of the water and bent down towards them. As it got closer it started to shrink in size. It slithered towards Sleipnir and began to climb his leg. Once settled on his shoulders he nudged his head at Sleipnir then the school. " I think he wants us to go back inside. Father did say that he could help us into his chamber. Let's go ask him where it is." Said Sleipnir. They walked back to the castle and began to make their way down to the Slytherin dorms when a cat crossed their path. "Oh no Filch's cat Mrs. Norris, run" Severus said to Sleipnir.
The boys ran all the way back down to the Slytherin dormitory. "And what are we running from?" The door asked. "A cat" Sleipnir stated. "That is not just any cat. That is Filch's cat Mrs. Norris and she somehow has the ability to tell him about students out after curfew. If you would be so kind sir to let us back in that would be more than appreciated." Severus said in a slightly nervous tone. The door swung open for the and they immediately walked inside and back up the dorm room. "I think we should wait until tomorrow to try to find the rooms. Get some sleep and start fresh in the morning" Severus said to his brother's. "Sounds good to me. Um, do you mind if we share the bed with you?" Sleipnir asked. "Oh, um sure I suppose. It's not like there's anywhere else for you two to sleep. "Severus stated.
The boys climbed into bed and went to sleep almost instantly. Severus had pleasant dreams of his family for the first time in months.
Thor was enjoying his favorite Midgardian foods for breakfast, his pop tarts and coffee, when he got a call from Hemidal that his presence was requested in Scotland from his father and brother. Thor had never been to Scotland before so this had confused him greatly. He made his way to the main living room where most of his Avenger friends could be found. Natasha and Bruce were in an intense game of chess. Clint watched both their game and some card game Bucky and Steve were playing. Tony as usual was in his lab.
"I need to go to the Land of Scotts. "Thor announced to no one in particular. Bucky's attention was instantly on Thor. " What happened?"
"I do not know. Hemidal has said my father requested my assistance there." Thor said, unsure of why Bucky was so tense. "I'm going with you. Give me five minutes." Bucky said as he walked out the room and headed down to Tony's lab.
"Loki's in trouble and I need to go. Please tell me we've managed to clear up my head enough for this." Bucky said as he walked into Tony's lab. " Um well you really only needed one more round with B.A.R.F. I think you'll be ok to go but you have to be mindful that if anything happens it can cause some setbacks. Oh and take these with you." Tony said as he tossed a small case to Bucky. "What's this?" "That Snowflake, is something special I've been working on. There's no way to really test if you're ready for field work until you go out into the field. We're going to have to implant it fast so you and lightning can get going. "Tony said excitedly. "What's it do, Tony?" Bucky asked. "Think of it as a mini B.A.R.F. or travel size B.A.R.F. It'll help me keep track of you and if need be let you know you're going into a red zone. Like I said you only needed one more round but this will be more of the longer term solution for you."
Bucky looked at him for a few moments before a quiet thank you was whispered. He walked over to Tony and gave him a quick hug before leaving the room altogether. As he was leaving he nearly ran into Steve. "Just wanted to let you know I was coming with you and to talk to Tony before we left" Steve said matter of factly. Bucky raised an eyebrow and looked between Steve and Tony . Raising his hands he just continues on.
"Was he red eyed there?" Steve asked Tony. "It's possible, I just gave him B.A.R.F. junior." "Thank you Tony. I know that this has been hard for you as well considering what happened with your parents, but I'm glad that the two of you are able to work past it together." Steve had said to Tony. "Regardless of the past that he had with my parents, everyone deserves to feel safe not only with themselves but also their friends. Besides I already
told you he's important to you so he's important to me as well."
Steve walked over to Tony and grabbed his hands in his own. " I'll be back and when I do well start looking into adopting yeah?" Steve asked, a bit unsure. Tony squeezed his hands and smiled. " Well Virgil's gonna need a cousin to have around right." Steve leaned in, a smile of his own on his face and kissed Tony. " Stay safe Steve. " Tony said with one last kiss. " I will Tones. I'll be back soon."
