"Saps," Yuri mutters under his breath as he takes in the scene in front of him. "It figures that those two would just end up sleeping the day away."

One of the best feature's of Victor's apartment in St. Petersburg (in most people's opinion, anyway) was the giant, floor to ceiling window on the wall of the apartment that faced the river. It gave a truly spectacular view of the water and the surrounding city and let in plenty of light—on a clear day, that is, anyway. And really, even on a less than sunny day, it still could be lovely to sit in the living room and look out at the rain or snow or fog or clouds.

Today, however, is one of those rare, glorious, sunny spring days that are rarely seen in Russia—and that are highly appreciated when they do happen to occur. Since it had been a rare day off for the skaters, Yuri had slept in, enjoying the peace and quiet and the chance to sleep in past sunrise. When he'd finally emerged from his room to snag something to eat for breakfast, he'd stumbled across the reason for the lack of activity in the rest of the apartment.

Makkachin, like many dogs, loved to soak up the sunlight that would shine through the windows in her home. And she had a favorite spot for this sunbathing, naturally: stretched out on the rug in front of the big window in the living room. With today's lovely weather, there was no exception, and the poodle had clearly made a beeline for her favorite spot.

And she wasn't the only one.

Her coziness must have been contagious, because curled up on either side of her on the rug are Victor and Yuuri, sound asleep and basking in the warm sunshine. Yuri shakes his head at the sleeping couple. "Their backs are going to kill them when they wake up, old geezers."

A soft meow catches his attention, and he reaches down to pat Bella's head as she brushes up against his leg. "Are you going to go nap in the sun too?" Another soft chirp is all he gets in response as Bella heads into the living room as well, hopping up onto the couch and curling up on a half-folded blanket in a bright puddle of sunlight.

"Can't believe that you're all just going to sleep all day when it's this nice out." Yuri heads for the kitchen to snag something for breakfast, but he can't keep the fond smile from his face as he goes.
