Family Game Night

It was family game night. Emma, Kathryn, and Fred hoasted at least once a month. It was their way of reconnecting especially when they had busy schedules. And Emma's schedule had been busier than ever because of the lovely intersect.

But as far as Kathryn knew Regina was taking up a lot of her time. Since Kathryn had Fred, She asked Emma to bring Regina. But Ruby also showed up and was weirdly territorial. She had never been one to hang on to Emma through her relationships.

The fact was that Emma had never even come close to having such a serious relationship Ruby thought and could feel her friend slipping from her fingers. She really knows how to deal with it.

Neither did Emma. Because she was the only one that knew that her relationship status had not changed. She was as single as ever with no possibilities at all of parole. She was going to die a dateless sexless existence, and it was bad because… Regina was sooooo hot.

So this game sat on the couch near Emma, who sat in front of her on the ground eating some pizza. Ruby sat next to Regina on Emma's other side. Fred and Kathryn were on the other side of the table.

They were playing the Dating game. Which… was strange with Ruby as the fifth wheel. But Ruby was out to prove that she knew Emma better than Regina ever would. Besides Emma would never say anything to the contrary, she agreed. She had only ever kept one secret from Ruby.

Needless to say Team Awesome was winning. "Why do I even bother playing?' Emma asked looking at Regina who chuckled. Emma rolled. "OOOOH six!" she said then looked at both Ruby and Regina. "Okay, easy easy, my all-time favorite pet?"

Regina lit up, this was something she had studied up on. "Um... Cocker Spaniel…"

Emma smiled up at her, " Yeah!"

" Peaches!"

"Oh, who got Peaches?" Emma said turning her paddle around and showing her answer.

"! Wrong." Ruby piped up. "Incorrect. It was a Springer Spaniel named Peaches Two, not to be confused with Original Peaches who got hit by a car."

Emma furrowed her brows and looked at her friend. Kathryn interrupted Ruby's diatribe and forcefully said. "I think we can just give it to Regina, Ruby."

Emma looked at Kathryn dubiously, as Ruby continued. "Yeah. Yeah, fine, fine. I'll just say anything next time and I'll just take a point."

Emma ignored her obnoxious friend in favor of questioning her sister. "You told me that the original Peaches ran away."

"She did," Kathryn said. "She did." She looked away and toward Ruby who had turned and taken a long draw of her drink.

Emma blinked and continued the game. Ruby continued to compete to answer the questions about Emma before Regina could.

Emma got to her last question, and she didn't want to play anymore. She read, "My most hated person ever?" Emma put her paddle down.

"Ah, it's so easy," Ruby stated. "A total gimme."

Regina looked around the room at everyone. They all knew who Emma hated the most. But due to her tone, Fred and Kathryn got quiet. Regina guessed. "I don't know, Clark?"

"Clark?" Ruby said not reading the room. "Come on. Guys."

"I don't know. I'm sorry." Regina said shaking her head.

"It's okay." Emma said shaking her head "It's- it's a stupid game."

"No, no, hold on a second." Ruby said turning to Regina. "it's Daniel Colt. I mean how could you not know Daniel Colt?" Ruby shook her head plowing ahead happy to have the edge on Regina. "Dude pretended to be her buddy, sexed up her girl and got her kicked out of Stanford. If Chuck is Solo, Colt is his Fett. Okay. Do you understand what I'm saying?"

"Okay," Emma said trying to stop RUby's rant. "No point. No point."

"Understood," Ruby said leaning back in the chair.

After that, the party dissolved fast. "Hey, I'll walk you to your car," Emma said and waited for Regina to say her goodbyes. "See you in a bit." She said to Kathryn as she took Regina's hands.

"Take your time."

They walked hand in hand for a few paces and let go of each other. "Well, we did great tonight."

"Yeah, you know, I like to win," Regina shrugged, "but, uh, Ruby clearly has an edge."

"Yeah, when she started to list off my favorite thirty-one-derful flavors of ice cream in descending order, that was a little much." the blonde grimaced.

"Yeah, she's like the Intersect on you." The brunette teased.

"Yeah. Wish I could access your file, know everything there is to know about you." Emma said, pushing her hands deep in her pockets as her Skinny Jeans would allow. "but the stupid thing doesn't really work like that."

"Well, you could always just ask me," Regina said pausing in her walk.

Emma quirked a brow pausing beside her. "Really?" The brunette nodded "I... Okay. Yeah. Um... Well, I mean, you know, I know that you and Daniel worked together, but how close were the two of you exactly?"

"Uh, well, Daniel was my partner, but we were never really friends if that's what you're asking."

"Right. Right." Emma said tilting her head to the side in thought. Regina was keeping something from her. As always. Her lie detector was always pinging around her. "So your relationship, you'd say, was more like, "You, hey, get that bad guy, " or "Nice judo-chop" or "How about them Redskins? " Or something like that?"

Regina tilted her head she found it hard to lie to Emma. She walked away as she answered. "Yeah, well, you know, when you're undercover, you're still you, but the details are different."

Emma sighed and trailed behind her lying handler. But that was just it. She was her handler, not her girlfriend. She didn't need to pry. "Yeah, speaking of details, there were a couple of those questions we could've done better with."

"Which ones?" Regina asked turning her head to look at the Blonde.

Emma was suddenly nervous to even broach the subject. "You know those... those questions. The... questions."

Regina smirked "The sex questions?"

Emma nodded awkwardly, "There you go."

Regina quirked her own brow the smirk not falling from her face. "Ruby did well with those, too."

"Well, what exactly is our cover for that topic?" Emma asked this time undeterred.

Regina paused in her walk again. "Uh, we're taking it slow."

"Right!" Emma stated. "Yeah. We're being prudent, aren't we?"

Just then, Ruby came out from Emma's window. She spotted the two of them talking. The two women turned toward Ruby "Oh, you meant... walk Sarah to her car?" Ruby said narrowing her eyes at her best friend. "Makes sense. I don't... I don't have a car." Then she walked away ahead of the two.

Regina and Emma looked at each other and said their goodbyes.

At Regina's hotel room. Regina is feeding her fish. She's taking a shower she spots somebody spying on her. She put a bar of soap in a sock and waited for them to approach her then beats them down with a soap sock. Regina runs out to her bed grabbed a gun, and in a tense round grabbed a gold vase smashed it on the person narrowly missing them and hitting the table sending the fish flying in the air. the intruder saved her fish.

Regina tilted her head and persisted to tackle the intruder. When she unmasks them. A beautiful woman with dark skin and voluminous dark curls emerges. She smirks. "I knew it was you. You always telegraph your punches."

"Bloody nose says otherwise." The woman said.

"Your cover?" Regina asked.

"Sabine. You?"

"Regina. Regina Mills."

"So, Regina Mills, what brings the CIA to Los Angeles?" Sabine asked panting still on Regina's floor.

"Same thing that brings a DEA agent like yourself: a job," Regina stated also panting and sitting over her.

"Well, whatever it is," Pant, "it looks boring."

Regina tried not to react. She was having the time of her life with Emma. She was falling for Emma. Though she would never admit it to the girl, or act on it. It was nice to pretend. It can't hurt to pretend. But she wasn't going to allow Sabine to ruin it for her. "All right, Sabine, what is it? If you're here, it means you need something."

Sabine smirked. "A diamond."

Regina raised her brows. "Wow, are you, uh... you looking to settle down?"

Sabine finally stands from the floor. "No, I'm going to steal one." The darker woman held out her hand to the panting woman on the floor. "And you're going to help me."

Regina laughed and slapped the proffered hand away. She shifted her weight and stood on her own. "Well, couldn't you just have called?"
