A delivery from Sargon

XXXXX, XXXX, Sargon

Morning, April XX, 109X

(X weeks after Watchtower 33 incident)

(Intro: The Merchant)

A merchant caravan looks at a temporarily parked landship at a border town near Sargon. Stationary towns were common in Sargon since Catastrophes (Originium-charged weather systems that also become catalyst for Oripathy outbreaks) were rare here. The dessert town itself was designed to accommodate passing landships since these part of the Sargonian dessert was a common route that landships take.

The head of the merchant caravan was tasked to deliver a set of metal containers to be given at a specific group currently staying at the currently parked Rhodes Island landship. He first denied the lord from Long Spring since they were still recovering from a family-fuelled coup, but the lord was able to settle a reasonable trade in exchange for this delivery. He was going to give them to a Penguin Logistics outpost, since he was aware that the delivery company was partners with Rhodes Island, but he is thankful that the RI landship was currently parked and resupplying at the town his caravan were staying. Maybe he can even sell some trinkets and more to those Rhodes Islanders after the delivery was done.

What the head merchant didn't expect was the influx of the desperate infected lining up at one of the medical tents blocking the main entrance of the landship. Rhodes Island medical supplies and other affiliate shops were also available on the side of the landship as the citizenry acquire much needed items and curiosities. The hospital inside the landship was also busy with human traffic that the in-patient lines were reaching the streets.

Luckily, the resupply hangar of the landship was passable enough that he and his caravan was able to enter.

He was under heavy observation from Rhodes Island security when he presented the documents. He was told to wait for a few more minutes when a group enters the hangar all checking the details of the containers. They check out on what they look like based on what the Long Spring lord told him: 4 mercenaries with guns but not Sankta, not limited to one gun, and also have a holstered knife as back-up weapon. He then talked to a lady in a hat & glasses as he was told to present a gift for one of their members from the Long Spring lord himself. She pointed at the one who wears a greenish helmet that covers his entire head with a lot of weapons holstered on the side of his backpack.

He calms down, the presents a letter from the Long Spring lord and an ornate container. He then read aloud (as he was told) about the armor itself:

To: Alexandr 'Tachanka/Tachankin' Sanaviev, member of Team Rainbow 6

This is the armor that you wore during the last stand at the town palace against my brother and his 'beasts.' We were thankful that you returned the armor despite its state after the battle. During reconstruction, my advisors were angry as to why I let a foreigner like you wore such armor when what you already have an 'armour' fitting to your station. I do have the same opinion with them for a time, but quickly retracted them when we found your group's weapons and equipments scattered about the 'cave' as well as leftovers from the Rhodes Island watchtower.

We were able to identify your specific equipments, only to find out that most of them were heavy damaged. The elders assumed that decades of combat can damage your armours to such extent that even your spares have some battle markings. I surmised that the reason why you took the armour was out of necessity. The one you wore before was nearing in tatters and you already assume that you will enter in melee with those 'beasts' when you run out of bolts from that weird weapon of yours. You took the armour for the needs of that battle, an advantage against odds. And we stood our guard until Rhodes Island reinforcements arrived and destroy the threat my brother has supported.

Now, I was just appointed as the lord of my humble town by the Sargonian chiefs. They also provided me with a new armour to reflect my new standing. I was able to convince my advisers to 'dispose' of the armour while I ordered the local smiths to secretly repair and refurbish the armour for 'disposal'. The pictures, drawings and, when translated, your life as a soldier of many wars was very entertaining if read in the context of fantasy. But the damages in every weapon and equipment you have reflects every battle you have participated in this 'fantasy' of yours.

The Ursunian trader and his caravan who visited the town during palace repairs arrives to sell his wares at the public marketplace when I requested his skills to further translate some of texts. He accepted it in exchange for a recommendation to sell to other towns. He was silent at first, then he was shouting loudly in his language in anger. Me and an advisor (a local translator of Ursine) was about to ask him on what happened. He then presented a badge, representing a foreign organization, demanding the surrender of all items in relation to this 'Tachankin' as well as his last known location. He was presenting his blade, unsheated, as well as members of his highly armed caravan to solidify his negotiations. He then shouted that this 'lord Tachankin' should be executed under Ursunian law for false claims of royalty.

My adviser laughed hard beside me, as if to mock the armed traders. All of us were confused as his behaviour as the adviser explains that the title was given to him by his fellow men as both a joke and respect that he earned during years in combat. The Ursunian shouts in anger and repeats his demands when crossbow bolts fly through the windows, killing all of the Ursunians except the head trader. He was then arrested by my forces standing by outside and dragged away for interrogation. We will later found out that majority of the equipment they were selling were tampered with some sort of observation arts along with other similar equipments falsely declared on his caravan. The adviser then told me that majority of the Ursunian traders were spies or headhunters working for their government, and that you were an exemption from the rule since you were part of a multi-national task force.

He then advised to hasten the repairs and sent all of this equipment to you before it can cause a mess in this still recovering town. He also told me that another armour 'slated for disposal' was refurbished, adjusted to your style of combat, and given a different coat of arms. 'To continue a running joke and honor' in his own words.

Included in this armor is also a written document giving you title of an honorary lord representative of Long Spring while traveling in Sargon, something that Rhodes Island never acquired in their long trade agreements with us.

I do hope we were able to deliver everything in proper order, your highness.

Signed by Lord Picale, Lord of Long Spring

After that long letter, he then opened the ornate container to present the 'Lord of Long Spring' armor as well given the authentication document to the now amused 'Lord Tachanka.' The rest of team Rainbow Reserve team R6 was laughing hard that Blitz called out Tachanka on wearing one of the most absurd armors he wore since 'The Pink Unicorn' armour he wore for his kids. Tachanka told the trade leader there will be payment as thanks as he presented a thick wad of Lungmen Dollars (or LMD), on which the trader happily accepts before leaving with his caravan. The team leader of R6 also

The rest of Rhodes Island personnel in the hangar, along with other Sargonian suppliers, were stunned to see some unknown "Ursunian' soldier from the newly formed reserve team was given such armor that was rarely seen worn, let alone used, by the Sargonian lords. Some Rhodes Island supervisors also arrived to ask on details on the newly acquired equipments as they start to transfer it to R&D department for reverse engineering, all excited that they were finally have the basis on the technologies they were only heard from R6.

(Mid- The Lord and the Lynx)

The head of Medical department arrives promptly at the hangar, demanding that all R6 equipment was under classified items and to be sealed at the archives. Everyone from R&D was complaining but Kal'sit ignored them when members of Rhodes Island Elite Operators Group (or RI Elite Ops) also arrived and started to carry R6's equipments. Ash was confronting Kal'sit since these equipment will be helpful on their incoming combat assessment, only to be rebuked for having dangerous equipment that can be detrimental to Rhodes Island. Kal'sit also added it's highly likely that Ursus Empire is aware of one 'Lord Tachankin,' that by itself is detrimental to the already shaky trade deals they have with that empire.

"Let them come then." Tachanka said as he blocks the Elite Operators from grabbing the containers. Silence loomed for a few seconds before Kal'sit approached Tachanka.

"Operator Tachanka, be careful on what you say about the Ursus Empire. I won't be surprised if they included you in their headhunting lists just because of that false title you have. That armor does not help you in this situation either." Kal'sit said in a harder tone.

"Then let them come. I heard about your 'relations' with this 'empire,' especially after Chernobog." Everyone flitched at Tachanka's statement.

"They condemn all infected by Oripathy… no, those who are weak to serve their empire to their death or worse. I served my time in a Gulag due to some misunderstanding during my service at Afghanistan but that is cake walk to those who were condemned at Ursus. And with the actions during your conflict against this 'Reunion' organization, do you really think that Ursus will keep their promises when their lords and agents find out that you keep the rebel leader alive?" Tachanka continued.

"You sure are brave. And yes, I am aware. They are angry at us that we have to smuggle of medical products to Ursus hospitals at the moment. You are your groups' weapons and equipment however…" Kal'sit summons Mon3tr and pointed his medical gun at Tachanka. "Are very dangerous on all aspects of life here on Terra. So I order you to surrender these things now."

Tachanka casually disarms his weapons to the ground… along with his armour and shirt, his helmet, and finally, his balaclava. Kal'sit and the Elite operators was surprise on how many wound marks Tachanka wear as along with his tattoos. Even his face was heavily XXXXXXX and XXXXX that it horrified some of the observers at the Hangar. Mon3tr was heavily growling, ready to pounce the entity insulting its master.

"No, we are under contract by Amiya and the Doctor of Rhodes Island. You are only allowed to seal the medical records and other assessments during our stay here. The case of sealing our weapons and equipments is still pending until those two approve it. You have no other authority to be held on my team." Tachanka stated as he held his ground, crossed armed and ready to face the crystalline beast.

Mon3tr roared as it charges at Tachanka only to stop at Kal'sit's command. "You do read your contracts too. That by itself is impressive than those idiotic ones who sign their contracts. FINE!" Kal'sit dismisses the monster, returning on her back as a crystal mark. "Your team may have your items during your combat assessment. Then it will be The Doctor's decision for a better move against those technologies of yours. I will advise R&D to be discreet on the results of whatever it is they found on your equipments." Kal'sit explains as she signals the Elite operators to stand down.

Kal'sit then approaches Tachanka as wear his clothes back, balaclava and helmet first. "I highly advise not to do that again, if you do not want to be sent at the brig next time. Understood?" Kal'sit said at the lower voice. "Yes, ma'am." Tachanka replies as he rummages to his weapons equipment.

"Here, a glass of peace." Tachanka revealed his other set of essential equipment: a bottle of pure Vodka and two shot glasses, already filled. He presented the surprised Kal'sit a peace offering after all that tension earlier, in which she hold her glass, then observed on how Tachanka drank his glass in one gulp before placing it down at a weapon container. Kal'sit copied the gesture, surprised on how strong the drink is as she places it down near Tachanka's glass after finishing it.

"Peace?" Tachanka asked.

"Peace." Kal'sit replied as she prepares to return to her office.

The elite operators exit themselves along with Kal'sit when she stops the door from closing.

"The Sargonian armor, along with its accessories, will not be included at the restrictions. You may use it whenever you wish, your highness." A coy smile appeared at Kal'sit face as she closes the door.

Tachanka breathe a sigh of relief as he return the drink back at the weapon container. The rest of the team along with some R&D personnel started to carry the equipment as if nothing happened. When Tachanka asked his team on why they didn't help him, they answered him that all was ok since he was handling the Medical head well enough. The R&D personnel nod in agreement, stating that nearly no one denies Kal'sit in her orders. Tachanka just shrugged as he just stated that he had worse experiences than that, before all of them deliver the containers to R&D.

"At least your legend continues, Lord Tachanka." Blitz joking said.

"True, it will continue on as legends should." Tachanka laughed back as the rest groaned on joke.

Writer's Note:

My apologies if the writing this time around maybe bad, a lot of erasures both digitally and by paper were done not just on this chapter, but others as well. I do give my best to present the best after all.
I have no idea on when I will finish the rest, but I will finish this.

Thank you for reading this chapter, and good luck on the current rerun event at Arknights.
