Liv pondered alone in her office for a few minutes before pushing her hands against her desk, sliding her chair back. Of course Fin was right. Damn him. She didn't need to lay everything on the line right now, but she could at least show up for Elliot in the way he had for her recently. She let out a nervous breath, grabbed her keys and nodded at Fin on her way out of the precinct.

Her nerves started to get the better of her as she got closer to Elliot's room, but a bubbly Kathleen met her in the hall.

"Liv," her grin was contagious, "you made it! I wasn't sure you got my message."

Olivia gave some lame excuse about work that neither of them believed. "How's your dad," Liv asked.

Kathleen rolled her eyes, "You know him, he wants out of here."

Olivia smiled, she knew he had been begging for freedom for days now. "When do we get to spring him out?"

"In like five minutes actually." She glanced at her watch, "They should have his discharge paperwork any minute." Kathleen pulled out her phone, "Work keeps calling so I'm going to take this," she put her phone to her ear, "go ahead and go see him." She smiled a knowing smile, "I think he's anxious to see you." Whoever she called answered, "Hello. Yeah…"

Olivia left Kathleen to her call and closed the distance to Elliot's room. Weighed down by the guilt from ghosting him all weekend, she gathered courage and pushed the door open.

Elliot didn't look up when she pushed her way in, probably assuming she was Kathleen. She took a minute to watch him. His glasses perched on this nose while he read through some paperwork. He wore jeans, but remained shirtless. It looked like they just changed his dressing. She swallowed back the lump in her throat as she again realized how close she had been to losing him.

He finally realized she was there. He smiled wide. "Hey," he greeted.

"Hey," she smiled back and stepped further into the room. Her coat stayed draped over her arm as she sat in the chair closest to the hospital bed.

"You came." She couldn't tell if he was more happy or relieved.

"Well, Fin handed me my ass in my office an hour ago, and told me to get my shit together, so here I am.

"Remind me to send him a thank you card." He grinned. He reached his hand out for her and she willingly took it.

"I think the joy he got from meddling should be enough."

"Yeah probably," Elliot agreed.

Silence passed between them for a few moments before Olivia started, "I'm sorry. I,"

Elliot waved her off, "It's okay." His voice lowered, "I know all of this was a lot, and it all came on really fast."

She smiled slowly, "Yeah, moving fast isn't my strong suit."

"I get it Liv, I figured you needed some space to process everything."

Her eyes dropped, "Sorry I worried you."

"It's really okay." He shook her hand a little to get her to look at him, "We can take it slow from here. You pick the pace okay?"

A warmth filled her heart as she remembered how much he knew her. He was handing her the control, he knew she needed to feel secure, and she loved him for it.

"Thanks," She whispered. She stood from her chair and leaned in, giving him a quick kiss on his lips before Kathleen opened the door with two hospital personnel trailing behind her.

One of the nurses handed Elliot the last bit of paperwork to sign. Once he finished the last paper he handed the stack to the nurse who said, "Alright, looks like we got everything, you are free to go." Another nurse wheeled in a wheelchair, and Olivia watched with amusement as a disgusted look crossed his face. "We need you to use the wheelchair until you make it to your vehicle." She turned to Olivia and Kathleen, "Remember he needs someone there 24 hours a day for the next few days." Olivia internally chuckled, knowing Elliot would hate having a babysitter. "Do your physical therapy exercises, I have them listed on the paperwork in that folder. No work for a week, and then desk duty until you are cleared by a physician." Elliot groaned. The nurse smiled in return. "You'll get back to work faster if you follow my instructions." She eyed him warily, probably knowing he was one who would push too much to get back to work.

"Got it." he said.

"Great," she smiled. "Good luck." She said mostly to Kathleen and Olivia, as she left the room.

Kathleen tossed a shirt at her dad, "You're going to freeze, get dressed. I need to talk to Olivia for a minute.

Liv followed Kathleen to the corner of the room where Kathleen had a planner with a calendar open. "Are you able to help over the next few days?" Kathleen asked. "I tried to get the time off, but they need me in for night shifts this week." Kathleen worked as a nurse in a different hospital.

"I could do nights, Noah would love a couple sleep overs," she chuckled. "You know I'm basically always on call though."

"I thought of that, Maureen said she could make it over there if you got called in."

Liv nodded. It seemed pretty well thought out. "I think that works. Let's get him home and settled in, and we can talk about details."
