Truth be told

Mal had pulled video surveillance and figured out that a man posing as an officer had exposed Kathryn to the poison coursing through her body. Now they had to figure out the connection between Dr. Swan and the intel chip the murderer were looking for to then perchance get an antidote to save her.

Emma was in a hurry and the NSA and CIA didn't seem to get the urgency of the situation. Regina tried to appease the blonde by trying to reason it out with her. "Okay, the only clue we have so far is the bug that we found on Kathryn."

Mal held it up proudly. "Soundproof box. Don't want the bad guy knowing we're onto him. We've got a team working on reversing the tracking signal." Not fast enough… Emma thought and looked at the box. She snatched it from Mal's hand and opened it. "Hey, what are you doing?"

"I Found the codes." Emma stated. "Can't believe where Mason Whitney hid them. I'm going to keep them on the lady doctor until we can move them safely."

Mal snatched it back and covered it glaring at Emma, "Now the bad guy's going to come to us… Not bad, Swan." She pulled the younger woman closer and snarled. "Do that ever again and I'll kill you."

Emma let the agents go st up their trap as she sat vigil next to her sister. The tears rimed her vision as she finally felt safe with her sister. She needed to talk to someone about everything that was happening and she just hasn't been feeling like she could. "I'm going to fix this, Kathryn, I swear" She whispered taking her sister's hand. "Look, I know that you just think I'm just, your screw-up little sister, But there's a lot about me you don't know."

She wondered if she could unburden herself here and now. She missed being able to do that. She feels as though she is going a bit crazy. "See, I'm, I'm... I'm also the girl with all these... Important government secrets in my brain. I can make this better. I will make this better."

Emma kissed her sister's hand then leaned forward laying her head on Kathryn's lap. "Everything is so different now. I used to be able to come you, and ask your advice about anything. And now, my whole life is, like, a lie." she sniffed and Fred walked into the room.

Emma sighed and backed away allowing the man to be by her side. She had other things to tend to… but she'd told her sister. She hoped she would be able to do it again at a later date.

She spotted Kathryn's sweater that she had been wearing the night they had gone out. It was on the floor, so she picked it up. There was something kind of heavy in the pocket and she reached in. Emma's eyes landed on it and she flashed on the pendant within. The codes… she breathed out, and stepped out of the room.

She ran into the room where they had been setting up the sting, and ran into the mad man who dropped a vial of the poison poisoning every one in the room including him.

The bad guy snatched the codes from Emma and it started the pursuit.

In the battle that ensued, Regina was able to secure the vial with the antidote. Unfortunately the bad guy had gotten away with the codes.

Regina turned and brought it to Emma. "Here."

"No, no, it's for Kathryn." Emma refused.

Regina shook her head. "I'm sorry. There's no debate. It has to be you. You're the intersect."

"I won't take it knowing that Kathryn will die without it, that both of you have been poisoned, too."

Mal sighed, "You're a good person, Blondie, and I respect that, but I got a job to do. So take it before I shove it down your throat."

"Okay, okay, fine. I'll do it." Emma said taking it from Regina.

"Thank you." Regina breathed a sigh of relief.

"I'll pretend to agree to take it, then I'll run like hell to my sister's room and make her take it." Emma said. "Why did I just say that out loud?"

"It's poison." Regina said, "It makes you tell the truth."

"You do that, I'll give chase, put a gun to your head, threaten to pull the trigger if you don't Take it." Mal said pointing the gun at Emma

"Would you really shoot me?"

"No."

"Yeah, don't waste the bullet. We're already dead." Emma said tucking the antidote away for safekeeping. "I'm saving my sister." She ran straight to her sister's room and poured the antidote down her throat.

But now she was dead. Regina and Mal were going to be dead. Emma sat outside of Kathryn's room and slid down to the floor.

Regina sat next to her. "You know, if I had a blog this would be a really big day for me." Emma stated. "Do my laundry? Check. Save my sister's life? Check.

Save my own life? Final entry."

Regina looked at her pitifully "I am so sorry about all of this."

"That's okay." Emma said shaking her head. "It's not ideal, but I've lived a pretty good life, you know? I mean, how many people can say they've landed a helicopter and saved the lives of innocent people?"

Mal walked up to them and looked down at Emma, "Courageous and honorable members of the united states military." She said, then dropped to the other side of Regina to keep from strangling the little twat.

"And hey, and the silver lining is now I don't have to work out my five-year plan again." Emma said with a giggle. "Streamlined that down to about five hours." then she noticed the device the guy had been using to track them. She flashed on it, seeing everything she needed to see. "Bad guy's name is Riordan Payne. Used to be an Olympic gymnast, blew out his knee. Now he sells hard-to-find items, like nuclear codes, to hard-to-find people." Emma stated… "Lots of people want to spend lots of cash on these codes, but they're not going to get the chance."

"Oh. Why not?" Mal asked.

"Because this thing's going to lead us right to him." Emma turned on the device and she took off out of the hospital to find Riordan.

The honesty between her handlers was refreshing. The love and respect they shared was admirable. She knew that even though the two bickered and disagreed they respected each other's opinions.

The three of them got into an elevator. Emma looked at her companions. She looked at Regina and breathed out. "God, you're so pretty…" Regina blushed and she turned to Mal. "Blaize, your body was chiseled by Michelangelo himself."

Mal furrowed her brow and looked at herself. "Thank you." She said.

"Oh, yeah." Emma said feeling surrounded by beauty.

When they got to his apartment they knocked on the door. "Yes? Who is it?" Came from the other side.

"The NSA, CIA, and me, who's a little tougher to explain, but…" Emma started, and Mal shot the door to stop her rambling.

"We all have our skill set." she said and the three of them went in. Mal and Regina with their guns drawn.

"Freeze." Regina shouted. "My partner would rather shoot you in the face than let you get away."

Mal looked at Regina and smiled. "You called me your partner?" Regina nodded and smiled. Then she turned to the villain of the story. "Where are the codes, you son of a bitch?"

"Where's the antidote?" Regina added.

Riordan descended the stairs with his hands up, he was cocky. "Actually, I was just about to enjoy a little antidote myself. What kind of host would I be if I didn't offer you some as well?"

Mal cocked her gun, "Careful there. Haven't killed anyone in a while. Getting a little hungry."

Riordan picked up three vials and handed one to each of them. He also had one in his hand. And raised it as if in cheers.

Emma watched this and paused. "No, no, no! Wait, wait, wait! Don't, don't, don't!"

Regina furrowed her brow glancing at Emma but not removing the gun from the target. "You have a flash?"

Emma shook her head. "No…No. I've just read tons of comic books. And the villain always samples it first."

Mal paused, "Good one, Chuck." She moved closer to give the man the vial.

"All right." Riordan said and looked at the three women in front of him. Then knocked the poison aside and flipped across the room.

Regina watched him flip around the room and on his final landing, she shot at his knee felling him immediately. "Very unsportsmanlike." Mal said still pointing the gun at him. She smiled at her partner. "I like it."

They poisoned Riordan and wired til the truth serum started to work then asked all of the questions. He spilled. "The antidote in the cabinet, bottom right is in my pocket. Codes are in my right shoe."

The three women collected it all. Regina handed Emma an antidote right away not wasting any time. "No, wait, wait, wait. Wait, wait." Emma said before Regina could bring the antidote to her lips. "Not yet. Not yet."

"Why?" Regina said knowing she was about to get trapped. Whatever Emma was about to ask her she needed to concentrate on her answer. "What's the matter?"

"Nothing. It's just that this… This will probably be the last chance that I have to know the truth." Emma swallowed. "I know you're… You're just doing your job here, but sometimes it feels so real, you know?"

Regina nodded. "So, tell me." Emma continued. "You and me. Us. Our thing under the undercover thing. Is this ever going anywhere?"

Regina swallowed and tried to remain on the fringes of this answer. "I'm sorry, Emma… No."

Regina needed to go away from the room. Emma blinked the hurt from her eyes… "Got it… Got it. Thank you for being honest. Even though I guess you don't really have a choice in the matter." Regina smiled and drunk the antidote. Emma followed suit. "Not bad."

Regina nodded took the vial from Emma's hand and got away from her as fast as possible before she said anything that she would regret.

At the debrief, Alan Clark stumbled onto the operation. SO Regina and Mal got Clark transferred to a store in a different state. Therefore ridding the store of some major tensions. Emma had a few days to decompress and get over the fact that she and Regina would never be, and decided to confront the question and go after Lou.

So on a day off, Emma showed up at the cheesecake factory. Regina smiled. "oh, hey. I… Didn't know you were coming by."

Emma steeled herself for what she was about to say because there was no way she should give up what she could have with her. But she wanted to be happy so she cleared her throat and started. "Regina, you know when you think you're going to die, and your whole life is supposed to flash in front of you?" she paused for confirmation. "That didn't exactly happen for me yesterday. In fact, mostly it was just a list… That I saw."

Regina wrapped her arms around herself as she listened. "A list of stuff that I haven't done and things that I haven't had a chance to say. So today…" Emma continued, "Today, I want to start crossing things off of my list. And this is the first thing that I promised myself that I'd do."

The blonde paused again because she had never done the dumping before. "We need to break up."

"What?" Regina said incredulously.

"You know, like, fake-fake break up our pretend relationship." Emma responded, "I just can't do this anymore, you know? The longer we go, the longer we keep trying to fool people into believing that we're a real Couple… The person I keep fooling the most is me."

Regina stood there dumbfounded as Emma ran out the door. She went directly to the Deli, and Emma was going to be loved. She was going to get the affection she craved. She was going to get laid.
