The Break up

Somewhere in Helsinki, a very special cargo is being loaded. It will arrive in Los Angeles in 72 hours. At the same time, Ruby is waiting patiently at the Apple store entrance waiting for the moment she can walk away from it to go on her break.

The store was packed as always and Ruby seriously was in need of a mental health break. She turned and looked at her watch timer that she had set when she only had 15 minutes before break. Not too much longer she thought as she counted down. "Three, two, one, bingo. Break!" she said and walked straight toward the genius bar. Emma was talking to another nerd as The brunette interrupted. "Great news, babes. I am free this evening for a about a little surf and turf, right? Half meatball, half tuna sub. Then boom! 4 straight hours of ,Call of duty. Me and you. sniper on my back watching me. Oscar delta."

Emma smiled she was in a good mood. "I would love to, but i-i have plans tonight."

Undeterred Ruby Continued. "Don't sweat it. Me, too, are you and the lady doing?"

Emma frowned. "Uh, actually, the lady and I are no mas. " She said. "It's over". She walked away.

Ruby paused a moment and took some time to muster up sympathy.. "Ah, I knew this would happen. Dude, I'm sorry. Damn it! Women can be so cruel."

Emma parked that line of reasoning right then and there. "You know, l as a matter of fact, I'm the one who did the breaking up. She just wasn't the right girl for me."

The brunette stared at her friend like she was insane. "Right girl? Are you out of your mind, dude? She is the hottest piece we are ever gonna get!"

The blonde rolled her eyes. "Listen, I didn't really see a future for Regina and I, ultimately, and so I didn't want to waste any more time."

Then Ruby is distracted by the door. Emma turned and noticed Regina walking in. "Beg for her back, Ems." She said. Emma headed toward Regina who looked like she needed to talk. "Go yeah. Yeah."

Aladdin walked up to Ruby, "What's going on there?" He asked signaling the two very hot women walking toward the back.

"Uh, just a little thing I call "operation devastation."

"Explain."

"Okay. My girl about to dump the cheesecake chick."

Killian walked up turned. "What?"

"No way." Aladdin added watching the nuances between Emma and Regina.

"Don't lie." Killian said, "You liar."

"I'm not lying. All right? Relax." Ruby said as if she had been privy to that decision. "She wasn't the right girl."

"What?" the two men said together.

"Yeah." She nodded

"Right girl?" Aladdin scoffed, "What does that mean?"

On the far side of the store, Emma and Regina stood together. Regina folded her arms in front of her, and she spoke deliberately. "Look, Emma, I've been thinking about our break up, and I'm not so sure it's the best idea."

Emma rolled her eyes. "Miss me already, huh?"

"Well, just, you know, for the cover," Regina tried "it makes things easier."

Emma shrugged. "Well, then I guess your job's gonna be a little bit harder."

Regina sighed trying to reason with her charge. "Look, I'm sorry if you thought there was something between us." She looked around the room as she spoke and saw the geniuses watching. "It's very common in these situations to perceive a connection that isn't there."

"Of course. I get it." Emma said with another shrug. "It's the old story, you know? Girl gets a supercomputer in her brain, a beautiful CIA agent is sent to protect her, and then she tells her, while under the spell of truth serum, that she's not interested. I get it." she tried to put a bit of emotional distance between them. "But for me, the emotional roller coaster is a little much, so I think I'd rather find something a little less common, like, say, I don't know, a, uh, a real relationship."

"Okay, Emma," Regina stated. " well, if that's what you want, then I'm gonna have to sell it." Regina pursed her lips and began to cry.

Emma furrowed her brows"You okay?" Regina turned and fled the store

"Don't you mess around with Emma." Aladdin said watching as Emma walks out behind a crying Regina. "Check this out." He said to his pale friend with a smirk and made his way over to the blonde. "Hey, girl, heeey, Heard about what happened. Are you... Are you okay?"

"Yeah, I'm-i'm fine, Al. Thanks for asking." Emma said not looking as though she had broken up with the hottest woman Aladdin had ever seen.

"Yeah, no problem." He said then he looked at Regina walking toward the restaurant across the way and back to Emma. "Now that you're done with Regina, you mind if I take a crack at her?"

"Uh…." Emma said looking at the man standing in front of her.

"You said she was engaged to a dude before right?" He said.

She hesitated and realized Regina could take care of herself. "Hey, swing away, champ."

"You bet, sis." Aladdin said and sped off to see about talking to Regina.

Emma shook her head and went to the back room to start working on a device. "Where are you going?" Ruby said, walking up behind her. "Don't run from me, all right?nWe need to talk about our emotions and all that crap."

Emma looked up at her friend and smirked. "I'm sorry, Rubes. You're gonna have to weep without me, I got a date." Then she walked on to the device desk.

"What?" Ruby said excitedly. "Get out of here. Already?" The brunette was impressed. She tried to think of any woman or man she may have seen Emma with recently. And for the life of her she couldn't think of anyone except… Mal. "Good for you, hotshot. With who?"

Emma shrugged, "Just someone I met. Makes sandwiches." She said as she walked out on to the floor." "Deli owner."

Ruby's jaw dropped open. "Okay, hold on a second. A pro?"

At Mal's Apartment, both Regina and Mal talk to General mills about the state of the mission. The older woman pursed her lips and looked at Regina. "I don't like the idea of this break up at all, Regina. What happened?"

"She got dumped." Mal Said.

"Well… Mother, We decided that it would be best for Emma to date a civilian." Regina stated self consciously. "It will help secure her cover in the event that someone ID's me.

Mal chuckled, "Yeah, because she got dumped."

"Let me get this straight." General Mills said looking at her daughter. "Some woman comes in off the street and starts dating the asset, and this doesn't strike either of you as suspicious."

"It's not completely unfeasible." Regina said, slightly offended. "She is a reasonably charming and attractive woman."

General Mills notices the look on her daughter's face. It tells her she is feeling more than she is trying to show. Attempting to stay professional. She frowned and leaned back in her seat. "I've heard enough." She closed the file on her desk and reached for something else off screen. "I want to know everything there is to know about this woman before she gets too close."

Regina and Mal nod. The blond taking note of the brunette's discomfort. Her eyes narrowed but she did not say anything.

Meanwhile, Emma and Lou are in the Apple mobile making out like mad. This was Everything. Emma's head was in a giddy fog, Just to be able to be with someone, and not to pretend that she likes them. To get to touch her and make out with her and yes damn it finally have sex again was so great.

Just at the thought, she could feel Lou's hand at the waist of her pants, she gasped and pulled away to breathe. She turned down the window and inhaled. "Wait, wait. Wow, it's, uh, it's been a while since I've done that."

Lou giggled and got one more peck on the lips, "Me, too. I think I tweaked my neck."

Emma smirked, "Well, it, uh, it wouldn't be an official Emma Swan date if the woman didn't leave injured in some way."

Lou giggled again and kissed Emma deeply once more, then she gasped out. "And I don't...Usually do this on first dates, but you want to come inside?"

Emma nodded. "Oh, Yeah." they make out for a moment more, before stepping out of the car. They don't separate for long, and come back together as they make their way to Lou's sandwich shop as soon as they stepped inside, Lou led the way to her office. The baby stud pulled Emma up and put her on her desk, the two of them undressing each other really not wanting to break contact.

It had been so long, Emma didn't know if she could keep up. She only knew she didn't want to stop, and Lou's hot open mouthed kisses and slick fingered caresses were really doing a number on her.

Emma enjoyed it, but there was a guilt that was pushing at the back of her mind. Because even though she was here with this beautiful woman, she really just wanted Regina. But she needed to move on. Regina was never going to be available to her.

Later, The two of them were in The Deli's kitchen. Emma sat on the floor of the kitchen disheveled, in a post coital mess watching Lou make a sandwich. "I'm about to make you a very happy woman."

Emma smiled and watched as Lou gave her a sub she had just created. Emma took a bite and moaned. The noise from her rivaled the sex nosies she had made just before and Lou bit her lip. "Oh, my god, you're so good." Emma said and Lou thrilled. She came closer and sat on the Blonde's lap "That is so amazing. Wow!"

"Do you really like it?" The brunette said.

Emma rolled her eyes of course she did. "Oh!Oh! Like it?Yeah!" Then she spotted something across the room. "Yeah, I like it…" She began to trail off. "I-i love it." As she flashed on a name on the bulletin board. Emma had stumbled upon a smuggling ring.

"What's wrong?" Lou asked worried, Emma's eyes were at the same time alarmed and unfocused. "You don't like it? It's the chopped liver, isn't it?"

"Huh? What?" Emma said snapping out of the Flash trance. "No, no, i… No, it's amazing. It's amazing. You're… You're... Amazing." She looked back to the board where she saw the name and she couldn't help but ask. "What is, um, what is, what is that?"

"What?" Lou asked, confused.

"The invite thing?" Emma asked of the paper that had made her flash.

Lou looked around to the bulletin board, and stood up to get it. "Oh, it's nothing. Some invitation for a party at, uh...Club Ares."

"Who is Stella Demetrios?" Emma asked, looking at the paper.

"My ex." Lou said, throwing away the invitation. "He owns the place. Why do you know her?"

Emma shook her head. "No, not really, no."

Lou nodded, "Good. You don't want to. She thought I was dating some guy and she trashed his car. Then she threatened to kill him… Believe me, the last thing you want is that lunatic swimming around in your head."

Emma smiled but now she was deeply worried. Her girlfriend had been involved with a smuggler. She wondered if she would ever have one relationship free from Government influence.
