Prisoner of Azkaban

Chapter Two

Back Home

Fuhrer's Mansion

Yuery was glad to be home, Draco's mom had picked him up an hour ago and his doctor as well as one of the wizard nurses from Xerxes had looked him over. They agreed Yuery was fine to his Dad's relief, before he was finally allowed to go upstairs. Yuery was exhausted mentally and physically after everything that had happened and he knew the lecture was still coming. He could see it in his Dad's eyes.

Yuery knew he had been reckless and that his Dad was unhappy about it, but he also knew it was the only choice he had that kept everyone safe. Surely, when he explained that to Dad he would understand. For tonight at least, Yuery was given a reprieve. Dad had said that he should rest, and they would talk tomorrow. Yuery walked into the apartment with his Dad right behind him and was immediately surrounded by his brothers and sisters, Tad and Lizzie. Mom and Yeye and Nainai were right behind them, everyone rushing to hug him.

Yuery smiled at them all, even as Dad ushered them all back into the sitting room. "I will tell you all about it later, right now he needs rest." Dad said as he sat Yuery down on the couch and then sat beside him.

"It was that bad then?" Yeye asked with a frown.

"Worse." Dad muttered. "Not in front of the children."

"Did you retrieve it though?" Yeye whispered, so that only Dad and Yuery heard him, Dad nodded. Yeye sighed with relief. Yuery looked between them, but realized they were not going to explain right away, maybe not at all unless he managed to convince them. "It is good to have you home Yuery."

"Thanks, Yeye. It was a long year." Yuery said with a sigh. "Some of my new friends promised to write though."

"Good, I am glad you made some friends there." Mom said as she leaned down to hug him. "I'm glad they plan to stay your friends. We already decided you are not going back to Europe any time soon, if Dad hasn't had a chance to tell you yet."

"Not at all?" Yuery frowned. "I knew and didn't want to go back to the school, but what if I wanted to visit my friends?"

"We will consider it later. Right now, I'm more concerned with your well-being." Dad said. "You were just attacked, that isn't something that I want to repeat itself."

"Dad, when you were my age- "Yuery began and knew from Dad's expression it was the wrong way to start.

"When I was your age, I was alone, and foolish, and reckless." Dad frowned at him. "You are not alone, therefore it does not matter what I did what matters is that you are a child."

"Did Dad just call you foolish and reckless?" William stage whispered.

"Yes, I did. He is almost twelve. It is in the nature of his age." Dad nodded. "Which is why it is my job to prevent him from doing anything that he'll regret when he's older and to make sure he gets and chance to grow older."

"Alright children, off you go. Dad and I need to speak to your brother now." Mom said, as she leads the other children to the door. "Go play for a bit, Yuery will join you soon."

"Dad said we could wait until tomorrow." Yuery stalled as Mom came to sit back down.

"We will wait for tomorrow for the details. We are not sleeping on the lecture." Mom said with a frown. "What were you thinking?! You willingly and knowingly walked right into a dangerous trap. You endangered your friends. You were completely reckless."

"No one would listen to me! What else could I do? He was going to get the stone!" Yuery said.

"No, he wasn't." Dad said quietly. "Dumbledore's final trap, it only worked for you Yuery. You walked right into it; it was a set up. He never would have gotten to the stone because it would never have released the stone to someone who intended to use it."

"But I- "Yuery began.

"It does not matter." Yeye added. "You are far more important to us than the stone. Yes, we want to avoid anyone using one, but not at the expense of you."

"They were going to use it to bring Voldemort back to his body." Yuery frowned.

"There isn't enough power left in this stone to restore anyone, even with his soul lingering nearby. The attempt would have killed him." Dad said. "Which again, is beside the point. You are a child; this isn't your fight."

"It is Dad." Yuery stood. "Whether you like it or not, it is, and they are going to continue to make it my fight."

"That's enough." Yeye said before Dad could respond. "Go to bed Yuery. We will discuss your punishment tomorrow."

Yuery stomped out of the room as he heard Yeye say to Dad "He is you all over again. I keep telling you that. So, think about what you would say or do and that's what to expect."

"Again, I apologize for basically my entire time in Eastern Command." Dad said tiredly.

Snape Cottage

"I should have followed Yuery and the others down there." Draco said after his mother hugged him and lead him into the living room. "They were putting themselves into danger and I just stayed behind."

"None of you should have gone down there at all." Narcissa said, hugging him to her. "Did you not tell me Yuery asked you to stay behind to send help? You did exactly as you were asked, and you stayed safe therefore, you did exactly what you should have done."

"Yes but, Yuery was attacked, and Ron was injured. If I had been there perhaps, I could have helped." Draco insisted. "Am I returning to Hogwarts next year?"

"No, I agree with Edward and Severus. You will be returning to Xerxes; I do not want you so far from home. Especially with your father's likely release sometime next year. I do not trust that he would be kept from the castle."

"I would rather avoid having to room with Vincent and Gregory again anyway." Draco shrugged. "They are not fond of me; they keep saying things about my choice in friends and how my mother is a blood traitor."

"I am sorry you had a bad time last year. Next year will be better, you have plenty of friends in Xerxes."

"Mother…will You Know Who find us here? He wants Yuery we all know that." Draco frowned in concern. "He wasn't supposed to be able to get into the school, but he did, so if he could get into Hogwarts, couldn't he get into Xerxes."

"From my understanding, he was allowed to enter the castle by his ally, which he has none in Xerxes. So, I would like to say no he cannot get here. The protection spells around the country should prevent him or any of his allies from entering." His mother assured him, but she looked uncertain. Draco nodded in agreement. He was still worried. If death eaters found a way around the spell, not only was Yuery in danger from Voldemort, but his mother would be in danger from his father.

After all, his father was not stupid, even with the precautions taken to prevent anyone from directly linking it all together, including Yuery and Draco pretending they hadn't met before the train, surely his father would guess that they were hidden in Amestris now that Draco had been spotted by the children of other death eaters. It was likely his father had suspected as much before now anyway, considering how careful they had insisted they needed to be all along. Sometimes he wished he was older already so that the adults would be more willing to tell him things.

Hogwarts

Ron and Hermione were sitting in the common room when his brothers came in from dinner. Percy and the twins immediately crowded around them to check on their brother. All they had heard was that he had been injured but they had not been allowed up into the hospital wing to check on him. Fred and George had also heard from Yuery had been withdrawn from the school and would not be returning next year. They wanted to know if it was true. Wood was rather hoping that next year Yuery would be allowed to join the team and was disappointed.

"I'm alright. I just hit me head." Ron assured his brothers with a shrug to explain it was no big deal." I'm already perfectly healed."

"Mum's going to lose her mind Ron." Percy said as he frowned at his brother. "You could have been killed."

"I can't believe you didn't invite us to help." George moaned. "We would have been there in an instant."

"Then we would have gotten caught before we got down there!" Ron shrugged.

"You have no idea what we get away with." Fred smirked. "Even Percy has no idea what we get away with."

"I am not hearing this!" Percy walked away from the conversation before he heard anything he would have to take points from his brothers for or worse have to write his mother. "Mum will be here in a few hours; the school wrote her about your injuries."

Ron groaned. He was going to be in so much trouble. Hermione was fidgeting in her seat worried about how they would be punished for their behavior. She did not want to be expelled, learning magic was very important to her, but she still knew they had done the right thing in helping Yuery. He couldn't have gone there alone. That would have been wrong.

She wasn't sure if they had written her parents as well, after all she wasn't injured, and her parents were not likely to be invited up to the school. Maybe. Probably. She still wasn't entirely sure how that part worked. She knew they could enter the platform so perhaps they could be invited to the school. Still, she didn't think they would be informed.

Professor McGonagall entered the dorm as she was thinking about it, and Hermione stiffened before standing. Surely now they would be informed of their punishments. They had been out of bounds after all, there would be some punishment involved, hopefully just detention.

"Miss Granger, Mister Weasley, please follow me." McGonagall said as she leads them a quiet corner of the common room. Once there she cast a charm to prevent the other students from listening into their conversation. "Normally, I would insist on meeting in my office, but I believe you both have had enough excitement for the day. Weasley, you really should be in bed, Granger, did they check you for shock?"

"I will head back to bed shortly ma'am, we had to see Yuery off, then I had to speak to my brothers." Ron said as Hermione shook her head to her question.

"Very well, early to bed with both of you." She said with sigh. "Now, for your behavior this afternoon. The Headmaster believes, and I agree, that given the nature of the situation you were acting to protect a friend which is commendable. You will not be punished at this time. However, I feel the need to inform you that should you get into trouble like this again, you will then be given detention for this incident as well."

"Thank you, Professor." Hermione said with relief.

"Now, are the two of you alright? Would you wish to leave early? I can arrange for your early departure much like Mister Elric."

"No, we only have a couple of days left, I would like to stay." Hermione said and Ron nodded.

"Very well. Get some sleep children. I insist." McGonagall then stood and with a nod at the other students left the room.

"We should do as she said, we already pushed things far enough today." Hermione said as she stood as well.

"Yeah, and my mum is already going to be angry enough, I do not need her to hear I disobeyed anything else. Have a good night, Hermione."
