They really are friendship goals. I hate how the show did its best to ruin that. So here.

Harm jogged to the other side of the Jeep to open the door for Mac, helping her maneuver her leg out of the car.
She tried to shoo him away but he just gave her a glare.
"We had a deal," he reminded her.
She sighed defeated and accepted his hand on one, and set her cane down on the other.
"Thank you," Harm said as he helped her with her balance and gain her footing.
She flashed him a clearly fake smile as he grabbed her small cross-body purse, the long straps in a bundle in his hand. Mac used her cane to get out of the way as Harm shut the door.
"I can carry my own purse, you know."
"You don't like how it looks on me?"
"Not really your color, Rabb."
She was clearly favoring her right leg as she took a step with her cane and dragged the other leg over.
They were lucky enough to have snagged a parking spot across the street from The Mall where Harm persuaded Mac they should go. More for his sake than hers.
After a week long of Mac in convalescence while Harm only attended to his critical duties at JAG, they were about to tear each other into pieces AND Mac was about to lose her mind being cooped up.
Harm asked her if she'd like to take a field trip to the National Museum of Natural History where she could "ooh" and "ahh" at the fossils…. On the condition that she allow him to push her around in a wheelchair.
She hesitantly agreed, only because she loved that museum, despite only having been there twice. There was not enough time between TADs and cases for her to really explore all that DC had to offer.
Once Harm found out that Mac had not really ever explored or taken advantage of the beauty and culture of DC. He vowed to change that.
Harm patiently walked with Mac, insisting she take her time and watched for her expression to ensure she was feeling well enough.
Wordlessly they entered the museum, and Harm made a motion for her to stay put. "Wait here, I'll get you the chair."
"Hopefully not the electric kind."
"No, I think I'll have to push you. Innocent until proven guilty, and all," he said as he walked away from her and towards guest services.
Mac did as Harm asked, knowing how annoying he would be if she tried to walk to guest services with him. Throughout the week, she has had to remind herself that it was okay to accept help. But it was damn hard for her, especially as someone who has been taking care of herself since sixteen.
Mac decided she would distract herself from the stubborn independence and plan out their day at the museum.
She took in the sounds and sights around her, watching families crowd in. She wanted a life like that. A simple life. A good life.
And she was slowly starting to believe that maybe she could have that life. Maybe she was worthy.
"Hey, you okay?" Harm asked her, as he approached with a wheelchair.
She forced a small smile and nodded. "Just in my head."
Harm maneuvered the chair so she could easily sit without having to move around. He held the chair and she slowly lowered herself onto it, setting the cane on her lap.
"Do you want your purse now?" Harm asked her. A grip still on the bundles straps in her purse.
"Yeah, I can put it on my lap."
He handed her the bag.
"Never thought I'd see the day that the great Harmon Rabb wore a purse. "
"There is no photographic evidence. That would be hear-say."
"I'm sure we could subpoena the interior cameras."
"Not without probable cause," Harm pushed her to the atrium. "Where to first, Marine?"
She looked around and her eyes immediately glued to the "Fossils" sign. She titled her head to look up at him, a sparkle in her eyes.
Harm let out a chuckle. "Of course."
He wheeled her to the direction of the fossils, keeping an eye on all the people around. He was assessing threats and escape routes, factoring in whether he'd be able to sprint with one Sarah Mackenzie over his shoulder.
"Do you want to start at a certain area?"
"Maybe the right side first. I want to read some things about those specific dinosaurs."
He feigned a gasp. "What? You mean you don't already know? It's not in that big Book of Disnouaurs on the dinning table?!"
"Never enough information, do you know everything about every plane?"
"Damn near. I can still viz-recce you know."
"Yeah, well, bad example. Take me to my destination, plebe."
Harm faked a shudder. "Don't think I've been called a plebe since… plebe year at the Academy."
"You know, I'd love to see the sights of THE United States Naval Academy, too."
"One field trip at a time, kiddo," Harm said, maneuvering her with some ease through the crowds and exhibits, to the fossil and display she pointed out earlier.
Harm stopped the wheelchair in front of the exhibit and watched Mac as she read the inscriptions on the wall explaining something about some time when the animal whose bones they were looking at was alive.
There was a subtle way her eyes squinted as she read. The way her head tilted, and her lips pursed as she mulled a statement. The expressions were similar to those he would observe when they worked through a case whether in her home or the court room. And it was these subtle expressions that reminded him he was not looking at Diane's twin.
Harm was lost in thought comparing the way that Mac's eye shines to that of how Diane's did when he realized she'd been looking at him with one eye brow raised. Distinctively a Sarah Mackenzie expression.
"Yes?"
"Are fossils that boring to you?" Mac asked him, in slight humor.
"No, I like the history and dinosaurs. I grew up as a boy, you know. T-Rex...GRRR"
Harm raised his hands up to a claw as as made the noise. She chuckled and an eyebrow raised higher. "Ah, I see. As opposed to … what, exactly? A girl isn't supposed to like dinosaurs?"
He sighed. "No, that's not what I meant."
"What did you mean?"
"That… that…"
Mac broke out in a self satisfied smile, letting Harm know she was messing with him.
"Anyone ever tell you, you're annoying?"he asked her as he pushed her towards the direction she was gesturing.
"Only you, every one hour, six minutes, and nine seconds on average."
"Really? One- sixty-nine?"
She chuckled, causing Harm to join as he pushed her to the next display.
Hope you enjoyed!
