After jogging for what felt like hours Lincoln manage to get to school but he was drenched in sweat. Seeing that there were many students still in the hallway was a big relief for Lincoln as this meant that school still has not officially started.
But not one to take chances especially since today was not going as planned Lincoln took a deep breath and ran like he never ran before to get to Mr. Bolhofner's class as he did not want to be late for two reasons.
One being caught by the hall monitor AKA his sister Lynn and two, he did not want to be late for Mr. Bolhofner's class.
...About five minutes later Lincoln was nearing the classroom when he heard the bell ringing indicating that school was about to start. Not wanting to be late especially today Lincoln decided to take a chance.
Once he was close enough to the Wooden shack/ classroom Lincoln dove into the door just as it was about to close and managed to make it inside just as the bell stopped ringing.
'Phew...made it!" thought Lincoln as he got up from the floor, panting like crazy as he walked towards his seat, only to be kicked by bully Chandler as he usually did every day.
"I'm really gonna miss messing with you Larry."said Chandler in a mocking tone but Lincoln was honostly not listening as he was too tired to deal with Chandler right now.
So he just decided to pay attention in class and wait until lunch time to see his inner circle of friends, as they did every lunch period.

[Royal Woods Middle School Cafeteria]
(A few hours later)
After a boring lesson with Mr. Bolhofner, Lunch time finally came around, allowing all students to leave their classrooms and go to the cafeteria to get something to eat.
As Lincoln was waiting in the lunch line he noticed that a lot of his peers were avoiding him. Lincoln couldn't blame them since he smelled like a used gym sock since he ran like crazy to get to school on time.
Next time he will use the bus.
After a few minutes it was finally time for him to get his lunch, which consisted of chicken nuggets, milk, mashed potatoes, and carrot sticks.
Looking at the lunch with great pleasure Lincoln went over to his usual table to sit with his buddies, with happy thoughts as Lincoln could already picture them saying happy 12th birthday to him.
But as soon as Lincoln reached his table he saw that no one was there.
Confused as why none of his friends were there Lincoln began looking around the cafeteria to see in they were at another table or anywhere else. But after looking around twice, and another time to be sure Lincoln didn't see his friends anywhere.
Lincoln then remembered something.
'Oh yeah Clyde said that his class was going to have a field trip to city hall, but where are the others?' thought Lincoln before remembering that he got messages on his phone on his way to school, but didn't check them since he was focused on getting to school.
Setting his food down Lincoln pulled out his phone and began to read the messages which were from his friends.
"Lincoln can't come to school today because I have a dentist appointment and I won't be fin for the next couple of days since I'm gonna have a tooth removed."said the message from Stella Zhau.
"Hey Linc, can't come today since my dad screwed up the plane tickets to Reno, which he accidentally got for today so we have to go early. wish I could go to school but my soulmate is waiting for me."said the message from Rusty Spokes.
"Lincoln buddy can't come to school since me and my folks saw a UFO land in the local woods last night so we will be in the woods hunting aliens."said the message sent by Zach.
"Really wish I could go to school today but Alice went into labor earlier than expected so it's all hands on deck at the farm."said the message sent by Liam.
As Lincoln finished reading the last message he noticed that not one of them mentioned the fact that today was his birthday, or even wished him a happy birthday.
'Its okay Lincoln, I mean things just came up and they suddenly changed plans. I mean Clyde can't exactly send me a message since his homeroom teacher has a no cell phone policy. Stella probably sent this message over at the time she was about to have her tooth removed.Rusty had to probably rush since his dad got there plane tickets messed up. Zach probably sent this message before he lost reception since there's no signal in the woods. And Liam... I don't even want to think of where his hands are right now..." thought Lincoln with optimism as he knew that he could still get a happy birthday message by the end of the day.
So without wasting another moment Lincoln put away his cell phone and began to eat his lunch, starting with the chicken nuggets.

(Hours Later: After School)
School went by surprisingly quickly and before anyone knew what was happening it was already time for everyone to go home.
After collecting some things from his locker Lincoln meet up with Clyde at the front of the school as the two usually did after school to walk home together, but not before Clyde offered him some of his emergency deodorant.
"I know this is a little late but happy birthday buddy."said Clyde as he and Lincoln hugged.
"Thanks Clyde."said Lincoln as he broke the hug.
"Sorry I can't be there for your special day, with my dad's taking me to visit my grandma and everything, but I felt at least thing I should do was tell you happy birthday."said Clyde who although loved his grandmother very much he really wanted to be there for Lincoln on his 12th birthday.
"Don't worry Clyde I completely understand after all this was something planned way in advance."said Lincoln with a reassuring smile on his face.
"Yeah...thanks for understanding buddy."
"Man I can't wait for my surprise party. I mean Lucy basically told me that today was going to be special after she accidentally let it slip this morning."said Lincoln with a joyful grin on his face as he was really looking forward to his surprise party.
"Well good luck with that buddy, I really need to get home since A, I forgot to charge my battery this morning so I don't have much cell service left and B, because my dad's made it very clear to me that as soon as I got home we would be going on our trip to see my grandma."explained Clyde as the pair were reaching his street.
"Understandable, see you when you get back from your trip buddy."said Lincoln as he waved his friend goodbye as Clyde ran home.
As soon as Clyde was out of sight Lincoln decided to go home as well since he didn't want to be late for his own surprise party."Well I'd better get home."
(Twenty minutes later)
After walking home for almost half an hour Lincoln finally arrived at twelve sixteen Franklin avenue, or as he calls it home. As soon as Lincoln arrived at the front of the house he noticed that all the light were off and not a sound could be heard.
"Man this is gonna be a blast. I can already tell that as soon as I walk through the door they are gonna well surprised and probably confetti is going to fall from the ceiling or something."said Lincoln with a smile on his face as he slowly but steadily walk towards the front door as he pulled out his house key.
After getting to the front door Lincoln took a deep breath and but the key into the door and turned the locking mechanism, opening the door after a click sound was heard.
"Well he goes nothing..."whispered Lincoln with much enthusiasm as he oped the door to let himself inside.
Just as Lincoln walked through the door he expected within the next couple of seconds for the lights to turn on and for a bunch of people to yell surprise.
But after a few seconds past none of that happened as Lincoln looked around and noticed that no one was in the living room despite the darkness. He turned on the lights just to make sure.
"Huh?...Oh I know the party must be in the backyard!"said Lincoln with much optimism as he quickly ran to the back door opened it, expecting the same thing he expected in the living room.
Unfortunately just like last time there was no one in the backyard either, not even a sign that anyone was there.
"What is going on?!"Wondered Lincoln as he began searching there house to try to find his family and his birthday party.
Lincoln first went to the basement expecting the party there but there was no one. He then started searching room to room seeing if anyone was home.
After running through the whole house Lincoln searched room to room for a sign of a note saying that his birthday party will be at some location like dad's restaurant or maybe at Gus's Games and Grubs, but after looking through every nook and cranny he found no such note.
"...Could...Could it be...That they forgot today was my birthday!"said Lincoln who didn't want to accept this as there was no way his family would forget his birthday.
"I mean there has to be an explanation...right?!"wondered Lincoln as tears started to form in his pupils.
Unfortunately for Lincoln his family did indeed forget that today was his birthday.
His father was busy as the restaurant surfing people as divas chatting it up with his best friend and employee Kintaro.
His mother was working late at the Royal Woods Gazette working on a column on how to be a great mother.
Lori was on a date with Bobby in Great Lake City with both of those phones off.
Leni was spending the evening with her friends Fiona, Miguel, Jackie, and Mandie watching operation dessert storm.
Luna was having band practice at her friend/crush Sam Sharp's house.
Luan was at the high School working on a late rehearsal on Hamlet.
Lynn was at Margo's house watching a football game in Margo's family den.
Lucy was having a meeting in the Royal Woods cemetery with the Royal Woods Elementary School Morticians club, where she was the president.
Lola and Lana were at a sleepover with Lola's friend Milly Ramos.
Lisa was giving a lecture at a science conference on the other side of town.
And Lily was staying with Mr. Grouse after the old man was bribe with food.
Meanwhile the realization that his family had forgot his birthday was slowly dawning on Lincoln. Soon tears started to fall down his face as he just couldn't believe his family would have been nerve to forget his birthday.
"Did I do something wrong?! I mean I helped organize everyone else's surprise parties this year and they went off without a hitch so why did they forget mine?!"" thought Lincoln as his knees gave out and he fell to the floor.
How was this even possible wondered Lincoln? How dare they forget his birthday he thought!"
Soon sadness turned to anger as he got up and used a nearby tissue box to wipe away his tears and snot.
"I cannot believe them! After all the BS I have dealt with this really takes the cake! First there was that stupid sister fight protocol that has cause me nothing but grief! Then there was that time at the grocery store! I just wanted my cereal but of course my sister's had to get in my way and get our whole family banned from the store! And Let's not even mentioned the whole bad luck incident! They literally locked me out of the house all because of their superstitions! But for them to have the nerve to forget my birthday when I helped organize and celebrate theirs is really going over the edge!"exclaimed Lincoln with his face red with anger as he noticed the envelope on the floor that was addressed to him.
"An envelope address to me?"said Lincoln to himself as he walked over and picked up the envelope from the floor.
Ripping it open Lincoln pulled the contents out of the envelope and saw that it was a plane ticket along with a letter.
Confused Lincoln put down the plane ticket and opened up the letter to read it. What was inside the letter surely surprised him.
Dear Lincoln Loud.
You do not know me but allow me to introduce myself. I am a friend of your grandfather and my name is Magnolia, I am a professor of Pokemon research.
"What is a Pokemon?"Lincoln asked himself as he continued to read the letter.
Now I bet you're wondering what the heck of Pokemon even is so allow me to explain. Where I live there are many wonderful creatures known as Pocket monsters, or as people more affectionately call them Pokemon. Pokemon are basically animals that can harness the very forces of nature for battle or everyday convenience. In my homeland of Galar, an island off the coast of the United Kingdom Pokemon and people live side by side one another in perfect Harmony. But there is a special group of individuals who capture and train Pokemon for the purpose of battle, these people are known as Pokemon trainers. And before you ask no the Pokemon are not abused in any way in fact Pokemon by nature battle each other on a regular faces to get stronger, and by joining up with a trainer this process happens at a much faster rate so at the end of the day it's a win-win system."
Lincoln couldn't believe what he was reading? Monsters are you one that can be captured and trained for the purpose of battle? Surely this Magnolia lady must be pulling his leg, but then again if she's a friend of his grandfather she can't be a liar since Pop-pop would never be a friend with a liar.
I can guess what you're already thinking young man. How can Pokemon be real if I've never seen them before? Well check your mailbox, there is a package in there that should be more than enough proof that I am telling the truth.
Lincoln decided to give the letter the benefit of the doubt so he went outside and checked the mailbox. Sure there was a small package inside. Now intrigue Lincoln took out the package and went back inside.
After closing the door Lincoln quickly ripped open the package and out of nowhere a device that looked like a touch touch screen with a red teamed electric casing popped out of the package and started to flow down in the air.
"Wow!"said Lincoln who was a little scared but at the same time intrigued.
Wondering what this phone like creature was Lincoln decided to read the rest of the letter.
By now you have already went to the mailbox and I've opened the package. The device you are currently staring at is a rotom phone, a special phone that houses the Pokemon rotom inside of it that acts both as its controller and battery allowing the user to use his phone without the need of his hands.
Lincoln stop reading the letter for a second as he came to a realization. What Professor Magnolia set was the truth as basically the proof was literally flying in front of him? Pokemon are real! Now Lincoln wanted to know everything about them as what 12-year-old wouldn't want to know everything about these mysterious creatures.
Now that you believe what I say is fact allow me to explain why I have sent these things to you. Your grandfather Albert and I have been friends for the longest of times and in one of our most recent conversations he told me that you were turning twelve years old this year and how you are a skilled strategist as you are the self-proclaimed man with the plan. So without a moment of hesitation I decided to send you a rotom phone and a plane ticket to allow you to come to Galar to become a Pokemon trainer. Now if you accept you will have to take an exam when you get here to be fully licensed as that is the rules of the Pokemon League...
Lincoln once again stop reading the letter. This Pokemon trainer thing sounded like exactly something he would want to do but what about his family? As soon as that question popped in his head his thoughts immediately turned back to anger as he recalled how they forgot his 12th birthday and are probably doing their own thing right now!
Shaking his had Lincoln decided to put those thoughts away for now and continue reading the letter.
But I can assure you there are a lot of benefits to becoming a Pokemon trainer. For one thing you are legally emancipated as you are considered fully capable individual Galar and other regions that have Pokemon leagues.
As soon as Lincoln read this part of the letter a smile formed on his face. He was smart enough to know what emancipated means as it basically meant that he would be free from his parents custody and could do decisions on his own without his parents say so.
Lincoln had honestly had enough living in this house as for twelve long years he's had to put up with a lot of BS from every individual and his family. From his little sister's bullying him to being forced to sleep outside like a wild animal all because they thought he was bad luck! Now that they forgot his 12th birthday after everything they have been through together it was easy to say that Lincoln had had it living in the loud house.
With a devious smile on his face Lincoln continued to read the letter.
Anyway my point is this is the adventure of a lifetime and I owe your grandfather a lot so I went to a lot of trouble to arrange this for you. I really hope you accept my offer Lincoln Loud and if you do I can't wait to see you when you arrive in Galar.
Sincerely
Professor Magnolia.
Once and finish reading the letter he quickly made his way to the kitchen and turned on the stove.
Without a moment of hesitation Lincoln burned the letter to destroy any trace of where he was planning to go.
"Well if she went to all this trouble to send me the stuff I might as well use it, I mean after all it would be a waste if all of this stuff went to waste I mean it had to be expensive."said Lincoln as he walked back into the living room and took the plane ticket as well as motioning for the rotom phone to follow him.
Lincoln decided then and there that he was going to teach his family a lesson they would never forget!
He would run away to Galar and by the time they figure out where he was he would already be legally emancipated so they wouldn't be able to do anything about it! All he needed to do now was gather everything he would need and by himself some time.
Hey guys PrimusPilus here to give his two cents. Just finish the chapter of my second Galar storing I can say with 100% certainty that I am quite proud of it. Next chapter will be here soon as Lincoln commences his plan to run away with no thoughts of coming back, but if you want to see exactly what he's going to do you have to read the next chapter to find out.
