I'm excited to show you guys where this story will go next. I have many chapters planned out for this story. I hope that I do alright with this. Without further ado Chapter 24. ENJOY!

Chapter 24

Violet with the assault team waiting for the go signal from Morita and the rest of the team. She had to say that she was rather thankful that Steve put her with the assault team because, with her curse/gift, she needed to be away from others if she had been shot at.

"We're in. Go! Go! Go! Assault team! Go!" Morita shouted over the radio.

Phillips got to his feet on the top of the ridge where they were at. "You heard him! Move out!"

Violet came out with Peggy and hundreds of allied troops coming out of hiding.

Phillips looked at both Violet and Peggy before cocking his gun.

Violet cocked her gun for a moment looking at the heavily weighted item in her hands. Did she want to use the gun or would she do better with her claws and take out the other's beating hearts killing them before moving on? She took a shaky breath through her teeth not liking the thought that was going through her mind, but she knew that was what she was. Violet moved with the rest of the team holding the heavy weapon in her hands knowing that she was going to have to tell anyone the truth that would see her covered in blood after this was all over. She followed the team into the double doors leading into Hydra's final base.

She moved away from the team firing her gun killing one Hydra agent after another. But it was only to last so long. Her gun had run out of rounds and she dropped her gun knowing that there was no reason to reload her weapon. Her nails began to extend, snarling in anger.

The Hydra agent fired his gun hitting her in the shoulder and sending a blast of blood out the front and the back of her shoulder.

Violet snarled moving forward quickly slashing at him with her nails causing a shriek to come from him as she tore through his uniform.

"You should…"

"Be dead?" She snarled out. "Far from it. You can't kill someone like me." She said slamming him into the wall before running her nails across his throat, slitting it easily. She turned sharply seeing a man trying to get the device that would kill him easily.

"Cut off one head, two more shall rise."

A loud gunshot was heard and the man fell dead.

Violet looked up, shortening her nails seeing that it was none other than Colonel Phillips.

"Let's go find two more."

A dozen marines went inside.

"We're going to have to have a long talk about this." Colonel Phillips said, looking at her.

Violet let out a laugh shaking her head. "I highly doubt you will believe me, even if I told you, sir."

"I don't doubt that Agent. Now let's go find more."

Violet nodded her head.

"You'll need a weapon."

Violet elongated her nails again. "Sorry sir, but I have mine." She said, raising her clawed hand.

Colonel Phillips looked at her in surprise. "You surprised me, Agent Howlett."

"I'm always a wonder, Colonel." She said crouching down before beginning to run, keeping herself low to the ground to avoid being shot at.

Colonel Phillips let out a breath. "This is just too weird."

Phillips quickly got into a car. "Hurry up, get in."

Peggy quickly got into the car to see Violet also getting into the car. Her eyes widened seeing her covered in blood. "What…"

"Now isn't the time to explain. Rogers needs us now… he won't be able to catch up to the aircraft."

Phillips started the car up and threw it into gear fairly quickly speeding up to where Steve was. "Get in."

Steve jumped into the car without it slowing down.

Peggy quickly chambered a round into Phillips's shotgun.

Phillips sped after the plane.

Violet nervously looked up. "Oh son of a bitch…" She said as she noticed that the propellers began to spin around into a blur widening the gap between the plane and the car.

Phillips spotted a toggle switch and hit it.

The car leaped forward, throwing them back into their seats.

Steve climbed over the windshield steadying himself. "Closer."

Phillips pressed his foot down on the accelerator more.

The car surged towards the propellers.

Steve dropped just as the propellers shaved off the Hydra hood ornament. Steve locked eyes with Peggy sharing a concerned look with her.

Violet ducked down as Phillips came up alongside the plane's huge tire.

"Hold it steady this time."

"Wait!" Peggy grabbed Steve by the neck and kissed him full on the mouth in a passionate kiss. She pulled away from him.

Steve looked at her gobsmacked at what she had done.

Peggy smiled rather pleased with herself. "Go get him."

Steve nodded his head, still stunned looking at Violet who gave him a firm nod of her head before looking at Phillips.

"I'm not kissing you!"

Steve braced himself on the hood of the car as Phillips pulled to inches of the spinning wheels.

Suddenly the plane busted out of the tunnel.

Phillips spotted the gorge ahead and slammed on the brakes at the last moment Steve jumped snagging the landing gear. He skidded the car to a stop.

Violet and Peggy looked out over the gorge looking at Steve who was hanging on.

Violet let out a breath of relief. "It's in his hands now." She said softly knowing that Bucky would be watching over his friend as he fought to bring Schmidt down in a flaming wreckage. Her hand shot to the dog tags that were around her neck and closed her eyes knowing that this was something that Steve needed to do. He needed to pull through or no one would come out of this alive.
