3 Years Later
Shiho works on NPA as a scientist; she never joins the real mission like before , she works in her own lab. She is the mother of the son now, Hiro is already 4 years old. Hiro really looks like his father, his hair is the same color as his, his skin is dark, and his face is handsome. How could she forget that man if God sent her a little miniature of him.
Today is the day, her cousin came to Japan , Shuichi Akai, who is an FBI agent who lives in America. Akai is Hiro's godfather, and a little boy is really excited because he can meet him today.
She had promised to pick up Shuichi Akai from the airport along with her son, but now she had misplaced Hiro. Shiho and Hiro went to the airport to pick up Shuichi. Shiho couldn't believe it when she lost Hiro. She frantically searched everywhere, calling out his name, but there was no response.
Just then, her phone rang - it was Akai. "Shiho, where are you? I'm at the airport already," he asked.
Shiho's voice trembled as she replied, ''Shu- Nii, I can't find Hiro anywhere. I think I lost him."
Akai tried to calm her down and assured her that they would find Hiro soon. They quickly came up with a plan to search for him at the airport.
As they searched for Hiro, they heard an announcement over the loudspeaker about a man who had found a child that matched Hiro's description. Shiho and Akai rushed towards the spot, and Shiho found her dearest son.
Shiho had been looking for Hiro, her son, for hours. The whole time, she had been incredibly worried for him, imagining all sorts of terrible things that might have happened to him.
"Where have you been? We've been looking everywhere for you," Shiho cried, feeling overjoyed and relieved that she had found her precious son.
Hiro looked at her guiltyly. "I'm sorry, Mom. I didn't mean to worry you," he said, his eyes filling with tears.
Shiho was a mixture of emotions, she was so relieved and overjoyed to have her son safe in her arms, but she was also scared and angry at him for running away like that. She scolded him sternly, but her voice was shaking, betraying her true feelings.
Hiro listened to her chastisement and started crying. "I'm so sorry, Mom. I didn't mean to upset you," he said, sobbing uncontrollably.
Shiho felt terrible for making him cry and immediately hugged him tightly. "It's okay, baby. I'm sorry, I'm just glad you're safe. I love you so much," she said, her voice softening.
"That Uncle found me, mommy,'' Hiro was pointing to the blonde man, Shiho and Akai looked in that direction, that man was on the phone with someone. Then He turned his body, was walking in their direction, then waved his hand to Hiro, the kid smiling brightly at him.
Shiho was taken aback by his sudden appearance. The man looked exactly like Furuya Rei, Shiho's deceased husband and Hiro's father. Although his eyes looked cold and distant, Shiho could see that he had the same features as Rei.
"Uncle... this is my mom and my shuu-otousan'', Hiro introduced Shiho and Akai to that man.
"Rei,'' Shiho mumbled, her voice faltering.
"Where have you been all this time, Furuya?'' Akai suddenly asked that man.
"Me? I'm sorry, Mr. and Mrs., i'm not Furuya, i'm Amuro Tooru , and as i remember, this is our first meeting'', Amuro said, then smiled politely.
''Yes, Amuro Tooru is your fake name, and your real name is Furuya Rei, I'm Shiho, Don't you know me, Rei?'', Shiho approached Amuro with teary eyes while still embracing her child.
''I'm so sorry, i think you're wrong, Amuro Tooru is my real name, it's me, Amuro Tooru'', Amuro replied.
"We're sorry, Amuro-san. We mistook you for our friend, he really looked like you. I'm Akai Shuichi, and this woman is Miyano Shiho. We appreciate your help in finding Hiro. We'll make sure to compensate you for your efforts." Akai said.
Amuro shrugged. "It's not necessary. I just happened to be in the right place at the right time." He looked at Shiho again, as if expecting her to say something more. That woman stood silently, still embracing her child.
Shiho couldn't help but feel suspicious of Amuro. She had hoped that Amuro would at least remember something about their life together, but it seemed like that was too much to ask for, perhaps he is not her Rei. She forced a smile and thanked him for his help before heading off with Akai and Hiro.
As they walked away, Shiho couldn't hold back her tears anymore. She had finally come face-to-face with the man she had loved and lost, and it was clear that he was gone forever. She silently mourned what could have been, feeling the heavy weight of regret and longing tug at her heart.
As they drove away, Shiho couldn't stop thinking about Amuro, and his uncanny resemblance to her late husband, Rei. She couldn't shake the feeling that something wasn't right about him. Her mind kept wandering, filled with thoughts and questions she couldn't answer. Did Rei have a twin brother she didn't know about? Was there any possibility that Amuro and Rei were the same person?
Days turned into weeks, One night, as Shiho was reviewing evidence, Akai entered the room with a solemn look on his face. "I have something to tell you," he said, his voice low.
"Niisan, why are you here?'', Shiho replied.
"I've been doing some digging, and I think I know who Amuro really is." Shiho's heart raced as Akai revealed his findings. Apparently, Amuro had been in a serious car accident 4 years ago, which had resulted in his amnesia. He had been taken in by a young woman named Hikari, who had helped nurse him back to health. As they spoke, Akai pulled up photos of Hikari and Amuro on his laptop. His heart sank as he looked at the images, his heartache for Shiho palpable.
Shiho was silent for a long moment, staring at the images on the screen. A part of her was relieved to have some answers, but the thought of Rei with another woman only added to her pain. She took a deep breath, trying to steady herself. "What am I supposed to do now, Niisan?" she asked, her voice barely a whisper.
Akai didn't have the answer. All he could do was offer his support and love, assuring her that they would get through this together. As they hugged, Akai made a silent vow to do all he could to help Shiho uncover the truth about Amuro, no matter where it led them.
Over the next few days, Shiho couldn't stop thinking about Hikari and Amuro. Did Amuro really not remember anything about his past life? Did he not remember their time as colleagues at NPA? She couldn't shake the feeling of hurt and betrayal, but at the same time, she couldn't help but feel grateful to Hikari for taking care of Amuro when he needed it the most.
One day, Akai called her with an update. He had managed to track down Hikari's address and suggested they pay her a visit. Shiho hesitantly agreed, feeling nervous about confronting the woman who had taken care of the man she still loved.
As they walked towards Hikari's apartment building, Shiho couldn't help but feel her heart racing. Akai noticed her anxiety and took her hand, offering her a reassuring smile. Together, they made their way up to Hikari's apartment.
When they reached Hikari's door, Shiho could feel the nerves settling in her stomach. She took a deep breath and knocked on the door. After a few moments, the door opened, and Hikari was standing there, seemed surprised to see them, but she invited them both inside.
"Hi Hikari-san, I'm Akai Shuichi, friend of Amuro-san, and this woman is Miyano Shiho, We wanted to talk to you about Amuro-san ," Akai said, trying to break the ice.
Hikari's expression immediately shifted. She looked guarded, defensive.
"What about Tooru-kun?" she asked.
"Miyano-san lost her husband four years ago when she was pregnant, her husband is a secret agent of the NPA,Furuya Rei. We never found his body, and Amuro Tooru had amnesia four years ago, it is not a coincidence Hikari-san'', Akai said.
"NO.. He is Amuro Tooru, my boyfriend, not her husband, I have loved him since high school'', Hikari said.
"Maybe he didn't recognize me, but i'm still his wife. I know Amuro Tooru is Rei, please don't lie to me'', Shiho replied.
"I love Tooru-kun. I don't want him to leave me. Your husband is dead, Miyano-san. He is my boyfriend, Amuro Tooru, not yours," Shiho felt a pang of anger rising within her. She couldn't believe that Hikari said that.
"Hikari-san, I understand your feelings. I know you love him and don't want to lose him. And neither do I. But the truth is, Tooru-kun is Rei, my husband. He has lost his memories, and we need to help him remember his past and who he truly is. We need your help," Shiho said, her voice firm but gentle.
"You had no right to lie to him, he has his own life, and family," Shiho said, her voice tense.
"I did what I had to do," Hikari snapped back, her voice rising. "You don't know how it feels to love someone and lose them. You have no idea."
"Believe me, I know that. I lost my husband, the love of my life'', Shiho took a deep breath, trying to control her emotions. She knew that getting angry wouldn't solve anything. She looked at Hikari with a calm expression, trying to reason with her.
"Please, Hikari-san, we need your help to find out what happened to Furuya-san. We need to know why he lost his memories and who did this to him," Akai said, trying to back up Shiho.
"Maybe you're right," she said, her voice softer now. "But, I'm sorry, Miyano-san , Akai-san, i can't help you, Please leave my house", Hikari stood up and was walking to the door, Open that door.
Shiho and Akai exchanged a worried glance before slowly making their way towards the door. As they reached the threshold, Akai turned back to look at Hikari.
"I understand how you feel, Hikari-san," he said, his voice low. "But please remember that Amuro-san is his own person. He deserves to make his own choices - even if they're not the ones we want him to make."
Hikari didn't respond, but there was a look of deep sorrow on her face as she watched Shiho and Akai leave. As the door closed behind them, Shiho let out a deep breath.
"Well," she said, turning to Akai. "That was... not quite what I was expecting."
Akai just nodded in agreement. "We'll have to find another way to get through to Furuya. But I have a feeling it won't be easy."
That Night at Shiho's House
Hiro sat on the couch, his eyes fixed on a picture of his mother that sat on the coffee table. He clasped and unclasped his hands, mustering up the courage to ask his mother the question that had been nagging at him for weeks.
"Mommy?" he said, his voice barely above a whisper.
Shiho was reading a book, but her mind was preoccupied with worry for Rei, She thought about her earlier conversation with Hikari. She looked up from her book, sensing that something was troubling her son. "Yes, baby?"
"I want to have a father like my friends, mom", Hiro said.
Shiho's heart ached for her son. She knew how hard it was for him to navigate the world without a father figure. "I understand, Hiro. And I wish things were different too. "
Shiho hugged him tightly, promising herself to do everything in her power to make her son feel loved and cherished. She knew that it wouldn't make up for the absence of a father in his life, but she was determined to give him the best life possible.
The little boy took a deep breath. "Can I ask you about my father?"
Shiho's heart sank. She had always known that this day would come, but she never knew how she would respond. "Of course, sweetie. What do you want to know?"
Hiro fidgeted with his hands, avoiding his mother's gaze. "I don't... I don't even know his name," he said, his voice cracking with emotion.
Shiho reached out to her son, placing her hand over his. "Furuya Rei, your father's name is Furuya Rei, Hiro. "
Hiro pulled his hand away, his eyes burning with tears. "Why did he leave us? Why didn't he want me?"
Shiho's heart shattered into a million pieces. She did not want her son to ever feel like he was unwanted or unloved. "He didn't leave us because of you. He really loves you, he named you after his best friend, Hiro. It was a complicated situation, and he couldn't stay with us, baby."
Hiro nodded, still feeling sad but comforted by his mother's words. "Okay, Mom, I love you.
Shiho wrapped her arms around Hiro, holding him close. She knew that this wouldn't be the last time they would talk about Hiro's father, but she vowed to always be there for her son, no matter what.
Hiro looked up at his mother, his eyes shining with a newfound sense of curiosity. "Mom, can you tell me more about my father?"
Shiho smiled at her son, knowing that she had kept much of his father's identity a secret over the years. "Of course, your father is a great man."
Hiro leaned in, eager to hear more about the father he had never known. "What was he like? Did he look like me?"
Shiho nodded, her eyes misting with tears. "Your father was very handsome, Hiro. He had the same hair color as you. He has blue eyes, your eyes look like mine, and his skin tone is just like yours. And he was so kind and humorous, just like you."
The little boy grinned, feeling a sense of pride at hearing his father's traits echoed in himself. "He seems like Uncle Amuro then, people in the airport said I look like him, mommy''
Shiho nodded, her eyes welled up with tears as she hugged her son close. She felt grateful to have such a loving son.
Two days Later
A few weeks had passed since Shiho's first encounter with Amuro, two days after she visited Hikari, and she couldn't stop thinking about him. She contacted Shinichi and expressed her wish to investigate Amuro further.
Hiro and Ran were enjoying a peaceful afternoon in the park. Hiro was running around, trying to catch butterflies. Suddenly, he tripped and fell, scraping his knee in the process. Tears started to form in his eyes as he clutched his sore knee.
"Are you okay there, little guy?" a familiar voice asked. Hiro looked up and saw Uncle Amuro standing in front of him, concern etched on his face. Hiro's eyes lit up when he saw him, and he quickly scrambled up to his feet.
"Uncle Amuro! Look what happened to me!" Hiro pointed to his scraped knee.
Amuro knelt down in front of him and examined the wound. "It's just a small scrape, you'll be alright. Let's clean it up and put a band-aid on it, okay?"
Hiro nodded eagerly, and Amuro took out a pack of tissues from his pocket. He gently wiped away the dirt and blood from Hiro's knee before sticking a colorful band-aid on it.
"There, good as new," Amuro said with a smile.
Hiro beamed up at him. "Thank you, Uncle Amuro! You always know how to make things better!"
Amuro ruffled his hair affectionately.
"Hiro, I was looking for you, baby ", Ran suddenly hugged Hiro.
"Aunty Ran'', Hiro said.
Ran looked up and saw the man who was standing beside Hiro. Her eyes widened as she recognized him as the man that Shiho and Akai talked about Furuya Rei.
"Furuya-san?" She asked hesitantly as he approached.
Amuro smiled politely. "Actually, my name is Amuro Tooru," he corrected her.
Ran looked taken aback. "I'm sorry, I thought you were someone else," she said, embarrassed.
Amuro chuckled. "It's quite alright. I get mistaken for Furuya-san often. We do have a passing resemblance, after all," he explained.
Hiro tugged at Amuro's sleeve. "Uncle Amuro helped me when I fell and got hurt earlier!" he exclaimed.
Ran smiled at Amuro. "Thank you for taking care of my nephew. It's very kind of you," she said gratefully.
Amuro shrugged. "It was nothing, really. I'm just glad I could help."
As they continued to chat and share stories, Ran couldn't help but think about Amuro and Hiro's interactions. She couldn't shake the feeling that Amuro felt a deeper connection to Hiro, almost like a fatherly figure.
She glanced over at Amuro, who was now playing with Hiro and the ducks, a gentle smile on his face. Ran couldn't deny the warmth and fondness she felt for him. She hoped he was Furuya, and that this chance encounter in the park was a sign that the missing pieces of Shiho's family may finally be coming together.
As the sun began to set, Hiro yawned and stretched. Amuro gently scooped him up in his arms, and he insisted on driving Ran and Hiro home to Kudou's house.
At Kudou's residence
Shiho had already retrieved her son from her best friend's home. As Ran spoke to her husband, Shinichi, she shared the events of her encounter with Amuro-san earlier that day.
"I'm sure that Amuro-san is actually Furuya-san," Ran stated.
"I agree, but it's strange that he introduced himself as Amuro Tooru even though he knew we recognized him as Furuya-san from his time undercover at Poirot," Shinichi replied.
Ran nodded, wondering why he hadn't revealed his true identity now that he was no longer in hiding. "Maybe there's a reason he kept it a secret, even though it doesn't make sense to me," she said.
Shinichi pondered, rubbing his chin. "Akai-san mentioned that Amuro-san has amnesia, so maybe he doesn't remember his real name. Still, I'm curious about who named him Amuro Tooru. We need to support Shiho in every way possible."
Grateful for her husband's caring nature and good judgment, Ran smiled. "Definitely. We'll be there for Shiho and Hiro whenever they need us."
After finishing the conversation with Ran, Shinichi picked up the phone and dialed his best friend Heiji Hattori's number.
"Hey Kudo, what's up?" Heiji answered after a couple of rings.
"Hey, Hattori, have you heard about Amuro Tooru?" Shinichi asked.
"Yeah, what about him?" Heiji replied curiously.
Shinichi explained the situation to Heiji, telling him about his suspicion that Amuro was actually Furuya-san. He then asked for Heiji's opinion.
"Knowing him as well as we do, I'd say it's a strong possibility. But why would he continue to go by his undercover name, even after being out of hiding? Have he and Shiho met?" Heiji mused.
"Emm.. That's what we were trying to figure out, too. Akai-san did mention Furuya-san has amnesia, but it still doesn't add up," Shinichi agreed.
As they continued to brainstorm, they were determined to uncover the truth and support Shiho in any way they could.
