[Galar region: Professor Magnolia's House]

Around the same time the Loud family was heading towards the Royal Woods Retirement Community, there was a similar adventure going on on the other side of the world or more specifically in the Galar region.

All throughout the fields of Postwick and Wedgehurst the sun was rising up in to the sky changing night into day as the Wooloo woke up to run around in the fields and the Rookidee's woke up to fly around to find berries and perhaps a worthy opponent to fight.

Meanwhile in Professor Magnolia's house at the end of route two, things were certainly lively in the house.

Putting everything into their backpacks to make sure they didn't forget anything was Lincoln and Hop as today they would begin the long journey to head to Monostoke city, or more specifically Monostoke stadium.

It was there that they planned to give their endorsements from Leon in order to officially participate in the gym challenge.

Lincoln was particularly nervous as he was still a rookie and knew very little about the world of Pokémon as he has only been in Galar a few days.

"Okay this is it Lincoln! Time to head out into the depths of the Galar region and truly discover what it has to offer! You have already been emancipated and as soon as you get to Monostoke city or more specifically the Pokémon center you're going to contact Pop-pop and tell him how you are doing!"said Lincoln to himself as he was giving himself a self pep talk.

Hop then barged in and pointed at his Rotom phone.

"Come on Lincoln we don't want to miss the train as the next train to Monostoke city is at least going to take several hours for it to arrive.

"Yeah Hop I'm coming."said Lincoln as he followed Hop out of the room the two of them used last night to stay over.

As the two young trainers were making their way out of the house they passed by the kitchen where Professor Magnolia and Sonia look like they were having a cup of tea.

"Wait a minute you two!"said the Professor stopping the two young trainers in their tracks.

"Hop you told me yesterday that you and Lincoln encountered a strange Pokemon in the Slumbering Weald and you didn't recognize it at all."recounted Sonia hoping that Hop would recall the conversation they had yesterday.

"Yeah it was really weird as I tried to get a good look but the fog made it difficult so I couldn't really describe it. But I'll tell you one thing it was strong as none of Lincoln's Scorbunny's attacks worked as they appeared to just phase through it almost like it wasn't there."said Hop as he began to wonder what did that Pokemon wanted with him and Lincoln.

"Right amount of information you are. Perhaps I'll do some investigating in the meantime you guys get to Wedgehurst station or you'll be late for your train."said Sonia as the two young trainers excused themselves before heading out the door.

"Come on Lincoln was one third is a rotten exeggcute!"exclaimed Hop as he quickly went from a light walk to a sprint.

"Your on Hop!"exclaimed Lincoln as he did some quick stretching before running after his new friend and rival.

[Wedgehurst: Train Station]

About twenty minutes later the two Pokemon trainers arrived at Wedgehurst train station and were utterly exhausted as they did not take a single break once in their sprint to get to the train station on time/ racing to see who would get there first.

"Looks like I win Lincoln..."said Hop as he was catching his breath happy that he finally beat Lincoln at something.

"...Yeah I'm man enough to admit that you're the better runner but don't think I'll lose next time..."said Lincoln as he took some deep breaths as he had never run like that before in his life.

After taking a minute to two minutes to catch their breath the two young trainers entered the train station and began making their way to the terminal when they heard someone call out to them.

Both turned back to see Hop's mother and Mrs. Taylor were the one's who called out to them.

"Mum what are you doing here?"asked Hop as he was not expecting his mother to be at the train station at the same time he was planning to be there.

"Professor Magnolia let us know that you two were preparing to head to Monostoke city and we decided to come here as fast as we could to give you a proper farewell."said Hop's mother as she and Mrs. Taylor walked up to the young aspiring Pokémon trainers.

"Lincoln although we have not known each other long it was a pleasure having you in my house as you have been a good guest and I hope you and Scorbunny go places."said Mrs. Taylor with a smile on her face.

"Thanks Mrs.Taylor it was a pleasure and I hope I see you again one day."replied Lincoln who was glad that Mrs. Taylor was such a kind woman who allowed him to stay in her house despite not knowing him at all.

"Just you wait Mum and you're about to be the first mother to have a pair of champion son's as I'm certain I'm going to be the next Champion just you wait!"said Hop as he crossed his arms over his chest to dignify his confidence.

"I'm sure you will Hop, and before you to go consider this a parting gift."said Hop's mother as she and Mrs. Taylor handed to meet your bag.

When the two open the bags they revealed it was full of camping equipment.

"These supplies will allow you to rough it outside since on a Pokémon journey you can always stay at a Pokemon center so use these items whenever it becomes necessary."explained Mrs. Taylor.

Hop and Lincoln thanked both of them for the kind parting gift and place the camping equipment in their trainer cube so that way the camping equipment would be easier to carry.

"Okay we're off and don't worry we'll be fine!"said Lincoln as he and Hop ran into the terminal to catch their train all the while their respective guardian and temporary guardian waving them off with smiles on both of their faces.

Hop and Lincoln meanwhile show their tickets to the ticket man and got on board the train that would take them to Monostoke city.

A short while later on the train as Hop and Lincoln were checking their Rotom phones they train suddenly stopped and it appeared that they had stopped at some train station.

Both assume that it was Monostoke city train station so that you got off only to see that was not the case. As soon as the two went to the front terminal they saw it was the Wild Area station not the Monostoke city station.

Hop saw the conductor and decided to ask him what was going on.

"Hey conductor I thought we were going to Monostoke city train station but this is clearly the Wild Area train station?"inquired Hop as the conductor turned to face him to tell him what was going on.

"Oh don't get me wrong young man this is the Wild Area station but because of a flock of wild Wooloo deciding to graze on the tracks we had to stop here temporarily until they decide to move on."answered the conductor who apologized for the inconvenience.

"This. Is. Amazing!"exclaimed Hop.

"What is amazing?!"asked Lincoln as he was a little freaked out from his friends outburst.

"The Wild Area is full of various Pokemon that I can add to my team! This is a great opportunity to add variety to my team as well as make some new friends along the way! Plus Monostoke city isn't too far away from here so if we hurry we should get there before the sun sets!"said Hop as he ran out of the station.

"Well I guess that is looking for the bright side for inconvenient circumstances. Hop wait for me!"said Lincoln as he ran after his friend trying to see the bright side in an inconvenience situation.

As soon as Lincoln caught up to Hop on the outside of the train station near a fence he was absolutely amazed at what he saw.

All for as far as you can see there was untamed wilderness as he could see trees and grassy fields as far as his eyes would let him. There we're also various lakes and mountain ranges and from what he could see there was a large ancient looking Tower not too far from where he was.

"Wow..."was all Lincoln could say has this was truly a breathtaking sight.

"I see you two are reacting the same way me and Leon reacted the first time we saw the Wild Area."said a female voice behind them.

The two trainers look behind them to see who was talking to them and they saw it was none other than Sonia, who they had no idea was on the train with them.

"I got on around the time it was departing the station. Gram gave me an earful in her own way as she basically said that you two are heading out for your journey so what am I doing with my life."said Sonia as she was twirling her hair.

"Ouch!"said Lincoln as that really cut deep.

"Oh don't worry about it as I was actually planning to head out and learn more about that mysterious Pokemon you and Hop saw. Really it's no big deal it's will be fun to rough it outside and go on an adventure."

"Geez being an adult really does have its issues."said Hop

"I said you shouldn't worry about it as honestly I plan to give it my all."said Sonia trying to put up a brave face.

"Well if you need me I'm going to go out and find some new Pokemon and maybe stick my head into some of those dynamax dens and battle some dynamax Pokemon!"said Hop as he departed before either Sonia or Lincoln could get a word in.

"What cheek! Dynamax Pokemon are really on another level so if you really want to take one on you better dynamax your Pokemon as well."said Sonia as she wondered if Hop got this overconfidence from Leon.

"Well I want to try to catch some new Pokemon as well so I'll see you around Sonia."said Lincoln energy decided to head off himself to try to add some new members to his team.

"Good luck and be careful the weather in the wild area changes drastically depending on the area!"Yelled Sonia as she herself began walking into the wild area to try to get to Monostoke city.

As for Lincoln he thought adding some new Pokemon to his team was going to be easy... nothing could be further from the truth.

On moment he is about to capture what looks like a grub like Pokémon when suddenly out of nowhere a Pokemon that looks like it's a giant snake made of rocks appeared out of nowhere and attacked him so he had no choice but to run.

Then when he went near the water to get some fresh water a Pokemon that look like a sea serpent jumped out of the water and fired a hyper beam attack at him causing him to run off.

As Lincoln went near the Old Tower he suddenly was attacked by several Ghost Pokemon so he ran as fast as he could as although he loved ghost it was another story to be confronted by them.

Lincoln ran and ran until he ran out of breath.

"Okay... this is going to be a lot... harder than I thought."said Lincoln to himself as he noticed a Pokemon that look like a caterpillar coming near his location.

"And who are you?"asked Lincoln to himself as he pulled out his Pokedex to identify the Pokémon in front of him.

Pokedex: Caterpie, the caterpillar Pokemon. For protection, it releases a horrible stench from the antenna on its head to drive away enemies.

"Hmm... you're cute and at this point I'm literally desperate so I'm definitely going to catch you."said Lincoln as he prepared to pull out a Pokeball when Caterpie on a little nowhere started.

"What is going on?"said when you can ask Caterpie started to change shape as it was glowing until it took the form of some kind of Green pod.

"What the?"said Lincoln as he pulled out his Pokedex to identify what was going on in front of him.

Pokedex: Metapod the cocoon Pokemon. It is waiting for the moment to evolve. At this stage, it can only harden so it remains motionless so I can avoid attacks.

Lincoln didn't say anything as he put the Pokeball he was going to use away and pull that another and threw it at Metapod without saying another word.

A Pokeball light and wiggling later Metapod was successfully captured.

"While unconventional I just caught a Metapod!"said Lincoln as he picked up the Pokeball and held it high in the air.

"You really evolved at an inconvenient time so there was no way I was going to leave you there. Besides I have a feeling you will be a great member of my team in the long run."said Lincoln as he plays the Pokeball on his trainer belt.

"Well...it's getting late and I really don't want to be chased by other Pokemon so I'm just going to head to Monostoke city now."said Lincoln who decided to call Pokémon catching quits for the day as he was mentally exhausted from being chased around by a lot of super strong Pokémon.

About an hour later Lincoln arrived at the large gate walls of Monostoke city. There he was a large staircase that led directly into the city.

"Well after a quick stop at the Pokemon center it's straight to Monostoke stadium to officially sign up for the Pokemon gym challenge."said Lincoln as he took the first step that led him into Monostoke city.

Hey guys PrimusPilus here to give his two cents.

Sorry this chapter is a little late as I have been a little busy lately so I haven't really been focused.

Also it didn't help how the Pokemon anime is going lately as it has really disappointed me.

But I'm over it so I should be back to writing these stories on a more regular... hopefully.

Anyway next chapter two friends who have wondered where Lincoln has been all this time will start to question what is going on as one informs the other on what is going on.

What will they do about it?
