Summary/disclaimer: Time for another chapter of Monster and the Sniper. Enjoy the 2000-word chapter. I don't own MHA Shonen Jump, Kohei Horikoshi and a few others do.

Storm looked at Nagant, the stone-grey rooftop was plastered with rain as he slowly climbed to his feet. His eardrums rang in pain as he turned, putting a hand to his chest as he did so, curious as he shook his head.

"Kaina…" Storm said, pausing to stop himself from spilling out the crimson liquid within his body. "You're going down the wrong path." Storm added, pausing to grunt as he leaned on the wall, giving the former heroine a clear shot at his torso.

The dull crimson bricks continued to drip with rain as the duo shared a look. Both were drenched by the rain over their heads, he took a long breath, interested as to what happened next.

"And what do you know? Their monsters, they want blood, all they ever want is death and destruction." Nagant said to which Storm sighed, leaving a bloodied handprint on the wall as he pushed off it.

"No, the idiots who think crime should be killed instantly want that." Storm said, looking at Nagant with a ragged breath. "And you got rid of him. Do you think it's better to burn it all down? You think destroying everything you worked for is better?" Storm asked, brushing off his costume as he slowly staggered forward.

Nagant pointed her gun towards him, he took a deep breath as he began to tap into his quirk. He didn't want to fight her; he didn't want to lose his friend like this. She had been someone he trusted. Fighting her was fighting a colleague, someone he cared about… And she knew he cared about her when it came down to it.

"I can't go back to this pain they've given me," Nagant said, resting a hand on the long grey barrel of her weapon. "And even if I wanted to? They're going to hunt me down, I'm sure of it." Nagant said as she nodded to him.

"Then shoot me." Storm said, laying a hand on his wounded hip. "Because there is no way I'm giving up that easy. I can't if I did? Then I'd be no better a hero than those who put you up to all this contract killing." Storm stated as he pointed a finger at her.

"I…" Nagant said before she leveled her rifle at Storm's head. "Why? Why are you so eager to throw your life away? You knew I'd fight, Storm." Nagant added as Storm chuckled with amusement.

"Because I know this is a test, I'm giving you." Storm stated as he pointed while he gathered more water. "If you're willing to shoot one of your friends in cold blood? Then I know you're too far gone. Correction, I know if you kill me? If I lay dying in my blood? Then you will be past saving." Storm stated, water wrapping around his limbs as he did so.

"And if I don't?" Nagant questioned, water dripping down her arms as she contemplated the deed.

"Then you're not as monstrous as you claim." Storm responded, crossing his arms as water also constricted his wound. "You've killed people before. Did you enjoy it? Did you think their lives were worthless? No? Then you're not a monster. Whoever was stupid enough to push you into being a murdering assassin instead of a superhero was a scumbag like them. I know you Kaina, you know me enough to hesitate. You honestly want to tell me you're going to kill everyone in your way?" Storm asked, grunting and gritting his teeth as he stood up.

The woman looked at him with interest. She wanted to hurt him. She wanted to hate him, put a bullet through his skull, and watch him drop to the ground. He watched her grow more and more conflicted once more.

"Well, Kaina?" Nagant heard from Storm as he looked up into the rain cloud-covered sky above.

Storm looked at Nagant as droplets of rain continued to pelt the rooftop, soaking the duo. Storm watched the woman grow more and more angered.

'If she wanted me dead? The first bullet she fired would have gone through my head easily. She's not trying to kill, not yet.' Storm thought while he started to slowly climb to his feet.

Nagant aimed her weapon at him, Storm did not attempt to stop him. He knew she wouldn't try to kill him unless it was her final resort.

"Heroes don't kill," Nagant stated, venom coating her voice like a knife. "It's all I've done since this started. They didn't want me as a hero, they wanted an assassin, a GUN." Nagant added before she turned to the side.

"And that falls on them," Storm replied with a frown. "They turned you into the weapon. I know you killed the man in charge." Storm added to which he was met with a frown more than anything.

"What do you expect to happen? They just forgive that?" Nagant asked with a raised eyebrow. "There's blood on my hands, they know that. This doesn't have a happy ending where we all walk into the sunset." Nagant stated while she raised her arm towards him.

"And what's the plan, hmm?" Storm asked, his arms crossed over his chest as he did so. "You run off and be a villain? Throw away all that you stood for? I'm not going to let that happen so easily. You are better than this, Kaina." Storm said with a shake of his head.

"DON'T PRETEND YOU KNOW ME!" Nagant roared with hate and pain in her voice. "This is what I am. Heroes don't kill! They don't cower behind the scope of a gun! I'm a soldier, not a hero." Nagant hissed out while her friend rolled his eyes under his costume.

There was almost nothing that made him think that. Storm was aware of Nagant's path as a hero that had been stained by this… But she wasn't a monster like she seemed to think she was. Storm slowly started to pace back and forth as he started to mull over what to say.

"Villains don't feel remorse, Kaina." Storm responded which caused Nagant to turn. "They don't hesitate to hurt someone. They cross lines as easy as breathing. If you're such a monster? Then shoot me. I'm going to keep pushing until the end or I'm dead." Storm added while his eyes narrowed.

Nagant nodded to herself as she realized that no matter how bad this went? Storm would keep his word. He didn't want her on this path… Kaina was well aware that Storm would push more and more on her for her to stop.

"Don't do this," Nagant said while Storm frowned and shook his head. "It's too late for me. You know that." Nagant added and frowned in return towards her friend.

Still? Part of her knew Storm wouldn't stop and she'd not force him to. Storm was many things, but he wasn't a coward who betrayed anyone who put trust in him. It wasn't in his nature to abandon someone who he cared about even if it ended with him being harmed or getting a raw deal from it. He was simply too caring to consider the problems with it.

Kania said nothing and simply waited for her friend to say something. He cleared his throat at the moment while he clicked his jaw against the roof of his mouth. This woman often drove him crazy and it annoyed him to no end.

"What happens now?" Kania asked with a raised eyebrow as she looked at him. "They'd throw me in jail for it. They don't care if I'm right or wrong. I'm an assassin in their eyes. A hero is what their think you are for stopping me." Kania said while her friend frowned at her.

He said nothing as he slowly slid down the building towards her side. He raised an eyebrow towards his friend as the rain continued to beat down on them like a giant drum.

It reminded him of many old days and pieces of life that had come and gone from now. So much was lost to the fires despite his best efforts.

Yet, he wasn't one to throw someone away if they were able to be protected. She had been through so much for him to throw her away. He had seen too much in his life simply to throw her life away as well. She had been through a lot and it wasn't fair for her first offense to shatter what was left of her life… If she considered this sort of life to be living at the end of the day.

'We all earned the attempt to try and be better than this. There's no damn way I'll let her be the monster she wants to be. Not without a fight nor without a try to do something better.' Storm mentally stated while he leaned on the wall next to him as he sighed to himself.

He wasn't going to fight her despite how she had chosen this path. He was far too tired to bother her or drag this battle out further than he had to. He had won or lost and it was clear that there was no real way to handle it yet. Still, he didn't at all let it bother him deep down.

Storm sighed and slowly started to slide down the wall next to her as he glanced at the former hero sharpshooter. It had been far too much for him to handle as of now. The stare in her eye showed him that she wasn't as into this change as it seemed.

If she was so easy on the other side? She'd do something to show him that it mattered. She had yet to fully commit to the idea of being a monster or changing sides and it showed in her eyes how they still had some sort of light within them. It was simple facts.

"We need to go if we go anywhere, to be honest." Storm started before he started to flic the water away from his eyes. "And something honestly tells me there's going to be something hunting you every single second of every single day. Now if I'm being honest at the time if we don't find somewhere to hide out at as of the second? It's really going too hard. Like really really hard to deal with." Storm stated before he glanced and looked around.

Still? This would need to be harder, they had a lot more on the line than just their sad little lives, and both knew it. Storm didn't want to throw her life away to save him and he damn sure wasn't going to kill her just to save himself. The more time he put into this? The more he doubted himself and this mission he had assigned himself. She wasn't evil, she wasn't anything close to evil and he was aware of it… But that didn't question what to do next.

He was going to be tilting his head as of the second. He was going to be hopeful as of the second. There was more on the line than this. It'd be hopeful as of the time, hopeful as to how this was to be at the second. If he was honest? It'd need to end sometime soon and he'd be there when it did.
