Summary/disclaimer: Time for another chapter of Monster and the Sniper. Enjoy the 3800-word chapter. I do not own MHA Shonen Jump, Kohei Horikoshi, and a few others do.
Kaina flopped downwards onto the couch, kicking her feet up and boots off onto the table. Oliver sighed and pushed her boots off next to the ground as he did so. He was utterly exhausted, looking down at the ground as he did so.
"I would like it if you don't put your boots where we usually eat, Kaina," Oliver said before he flopped downwards and onto the ground next to her.
"You're the one complaining about it all," Kaina said, leaning back as she did so. "I cannot believe they sell clothes at a convenience store… And you want to buy them anyway." Kaina said before getting a look from Oliver.
Oliver had been silent, only looking at her as she hummed before she seemed to fall silent as she looked downwards. She had an idea he did not at all know and she had a question he did not at all know for now, an idea that scared him to no real end for now, it had been something that needed to be addressed.
Kaina sighed and leaned on the couch, kicking her feet up still. She was utterly exhausted for now and it was not helping.
Well, not to be here when it was all said and done. She had a far larger plan to play with this for now, a plan that had not yet seemed to unfold entirely.
What she did not know was how Oliver fit into the plan. She did not at all know what to do next, an idea that was cutting into her brain.
"Is it all right if I get changed for bed? I do not want to sleep in a T-Shirt and torn jeans." Kaina questioned to which Oliver was silent.
"Sure…. I am going to make dinner if that is ok with you?" Oliver asked as she nodded and allowed him a second of violence once more.
He wanted peace, he was unsure of it all… All of it hurt, all of it seemed to be a measure of peace. He did not know how but it was a thing he could at least control to a degree again and again. He did not manage to relax at all, he simply wished to be able to control it all for now.
Olivier sighed and guessed for at least a second. She would entertain the idea of vanishing into some forgotten part of the city, where nobody at all could go.
It would bother him if he did not at all doubt her getting far, she was not going anywhere anytime soon with so many people now, and for good measure? It was not like he had a measure of mercy on his mind if she pushed her good fortune.
Olivier sighed, if she ran? She ran and he would stop her before she hurt someone but he refused to stop someone whom he believed at least deserved a second chance in history.
They had OH so much on the mind to deal with for now and yet he did not at all take a second of it for wasted again, wasted away as he hummed to himself.
He was utterly unsure of what to try and figure out as he sighed once more as he looked at her with a sort of mirth that did not at all go away anytime soon. There was a desire to be better than this, better than what had been before.
Kaina had fallen silent, utterly thrown off by her own choices at the end of the day as she looked downwards at the ground and felt some sort of silence and calm fall over the room.
"You were expecting something like this to happen, weren't you?" Kaina asked as Oliver hummed and shrugged, raising his hands.
She kicked her feet up on the table, yawning and looking to the side. This small little apartment was not something she had expected a hero like Storm Surge to own, her experiences in life had taught her most…
No, Oliver was a lot of things, but he did care about others at the end of the day, something that could only continue to build with each passing second, she was allowed to study things.
"If you are such a hero? Why don't you have some sort of fancy mansion?" Kaina asked, laying her hands behind her head as she did so.
"Because I do not want one? I do not need one. I am a superhero, Kaina, not some big-shot millionaire sellout." Oliver said as he hummed and looked downwards at the ground.
They had a lot more to see and do at the end of the day, something that he supposed he should have seen coming… It would be odd, but he supposed it was to be expected again and again.
"I'm hungry, you said you'd make dinner tonight?" Oliver heard followed by a slight kick to the side.
"Yes, dear." Oliver joked to which Kaina rolled her eyes. "You remember the last time you started to stay over? Always made things like this sort of thing odder and odder. You always used to ask why I bought more plates and utensils." Oliver said as he heard her sigh.
"Only you, who used to be a former agent like me would call things utensils as they did years ago," Kaina said as Oliver hummed.
"Forks and knives, you want me to be directly on the money?" Oliver snarked as he hummed to himself. "There's a lot of things you don't need me to point out I did," Oliver said as he sighed and looked downwards at the ground.
They had a lot of things to try and discuss, he supposed. They had a lot more time to catch up when it was all said and done for now sadly.
He did not blame her sarcasm; it was part of her charm and she had so much pity that it would drown most of them for the time being. Whatever was asked of him? it would continue to end one way and one way forward now as she looked downwards at the ground.
It was odd, so damn odd that it bothered her, and yet she did not at all back down, did not at all manage to relax… She knew what was coming and what was going on as of now, there was a lot more to try and deal with.
Yet? Did she suppose in her mind, to him? There was some mercy now that she did not even grasp for now, could and would need to relax upon for now as of this moment.
"Why do you care so much if I live or die? It is your job to make sure the bad guys are taken out and I am one… Yet not once do you just do it and move on." Kaina stated as she looked downwards at the ground, wiggling her fingers, and sighing as she rubbed her skull.
"Right, because heroes are supposed to kill someone. I must have missed that part of the hero book where we are told not only to kill heroes but to kill our closest friends in the entire world." He sneered, looking downwards at the ground as he sighed.
"You want to die so bad I'm convinced this has nothing to do with heroics and more to do with someone screwing you over," Oliver said as he looked downwards. "Spill it, what the hell is going on? You have never been like this and you know it. you know this is not how things normally go." Oliver stated before he fell silent.
She sighed at him, watching as he sat downwards on the chair next to her, reminding him that something had gone well enough alone that she had been reminded something was off… VERY off at the end of the day… A part of life that continued to bother her for now.
She could feel the tension in his mind eating up at him for now. it was a big part of whom she was a big part of a piece within her that kept growing and growing again and again… Such things were beneath her again and again. It was going to be much harder to try and understand.
"You've never changed, not even a little…" Oliver heard as he snorted before looking downwards at the ground.
"Neither have you. You are pretending to, badly." Oliver stated as she raised an eyebrow. "If you wanted someone dead? You would have done it. I know you, Kaina. You are one of the best snipers in the world, hero or not… You would have put a bullet in my head either way." Oliver stated as Kaina sighed.
Of course, he had to remind her that she was not like that… At all, there was not something she could normally deal with and see it all now, something about it all would be odder and odder for now.
She did not at all know what was going on since then and she did not know him, he did not know her at all… But he wished to… There was just something that could be dealt with for now.
It would be dealt with for now… It was not going to be dealt with for now… They had a lot of garbage to unpack.
"You remember the last time I had been brought here?" Kaina questioned before Oliver hummed.
"Yes… You remember how terrible you were at dealing with my cooking when stuff is going on… You have a lot of things to try and figure out, like not dying…. There is just too much to try and figure out… Like not trying to die." Kaina heard as she sighed.
She looked around the room, utterly tired and flustered, unsure of what was going to be dealt with as of now. She leaned backward on the couch, resting her feet up on the couch, utterly thrown off as of this very moment.
She had a LOT of exhaustion for now, not being willing to admit that she had no plan, no real goal. They had a LOT more to try and relax upon for now…
"Do the others know you're harboring a fugitive?" Kaina questioned before she paused and hummed, watching as she was handed a plate.
"More or less. I have told some of the more well-known heroes that I am giving you a chance to reform." Oliver said before he sighed. "Now if you dump my pancakes in the trash like last time? I am telling them I have changed my mind." Oliver stated before he sighed.
Kaina was silent, unsure of what was going on, unsure of her plans when it came to them. She knew Oliver beyond the jokes was DEAD serious about this and deadly serious about her… It would not help that such a thing.
"This is going to fall apart sooner or later," Kaina stated before she hummed.
"No more than most plans. The more you run, the worse it will get… You act like you have killed the monster at the end of some fairy tale… Not one bad guy who blackmailed you into doing something and then threatened to kill you when you backed out." Oliver said before turning to the side, utterly amused for now.
He could tell that she of all people was utterly amused… It felt like something holy terrible for now and something that could be dealt with purely.
He turned, holding the pancakes he had cooked, and dimply paused to look at her, unsure of what was coming and going… Now? Now he simply had more and more to try and figure out something.
There are a lot of things that could be done to try and fix it… This is not going to be one way or another, knowing that it all seemed to be dealt with in a personally insane way when it came down to it.
This was not going to be something that could be dealt with easily… Not even a little for now or else they would go down the line as of this moment.
She did not even know what the next idea would be, not unsure of what was going on, she did not know when it came down to it.
She looked over to Oliver who had been tired, too fascinated by it, too interested in it for now as he paused to keep relaxed, tired only for a moment, and then looked downwards now.
She paused to look at him as she wiggled her fingers and toes, too exhausted for now. She had been bored, too exhausted for now, and unwilling to do more than rest sooner or later now before it came down to it for now.
"You have a habit of kicking your feet up on everything, you know," Oliver stated before he paused to relax, too interested in something else. "This was only a matter of time before you forget you didn't always live here," Oliver said as he hummed.
He had something for now and then looked downwards at the ground for now.
"I am just amused you want to continue to keep a person called a villain in this place… Because I honestly cannot believe I am dealing with this right now." Kaina stated.
"Really should not have to point out how insane that is for now, because I'm far too interested in something to try and deal with for now, it's a lot harder for now and then I have to think for a few seconds," Oliver stated as he sighed before he looked downwards at the ground.
He did not even know what was going on and he did not want to, not wanting at the time.
She did not know what the next game would be and it would be something to deal with on his mind.
Perhaps she was meant to be here. She looked over the others and felt too interested in it for now and then it seemed to keep ending.
"You know that there will be more to do next. This will be more to see and do next." Kaina stated to which Oliver stayed silent.
"Maybe, but there will always be plans to make, we both know that this is going to end badly for now. Your plans always do." Kaina stated before Oliver rolled his eyes.
"You of all people will not be over this for now. You are an assassin; I know you are mopey for a reason and I already reminded you that reason is not a bad one. It is guilt, people have guilt when their sad or worn down from their work. It is not like you kicked someone's dog and then shot their kid." Oliver stated before he paused and looked downwards at the ground.
This was not usually how he and Kaina felt about these sorts of things when it all comes to a head. There will be something to deal with for now… It was to be expected from their sort of thing at the time being, too tired, too unsure.
Kaina paused, placing another piece of food in her mouth, and starting to kick her feet and forth, wincing as she realized she might have blisters from fighting in the rain.
"You couldn't have held back at least a little with the rain?" Kaina questioned. "I might need to stick around for a bit."
"I do not at all understand," Oliver said, a slight smile on his face.
"And? There are a lot of things I know you do get in your damn mind… There is always something on your damn mind." Kaina stated.
"Like how your aim has gotten worse?" Oliver asked with clear amusement.
"If I wanted you dead? I would have shot you in the head, you said it yourself." Kaina stated, rubbing at the forming blisters.
"As I said, you still do not want to hurt someone… You do not know what is going on… And you will not be able to relax… There will be too much chaos on the mind, there will be something to deal with." Oliver stated.
She did not know; she could not have known… She would continue to act, she was a warrior, she would not be tied down… Even then? This was too chaotic for now, something which would act more and more chaotic for now.
She paused, leaning her head into her arms, and then sighed, not knowing what would come next as a result of it… She would not allow it to have been willing to have acted… Yes, there was too much to try and deal with for now… They had more.
"What is the plan? To float around here, gathering space?" Kaina questioned for now, wanting it all to come to an end.
Oliver shrugged and simply popped another piece of candy into his mouth as he knew more and more with chaos equal to it all for now. She smiled at him and poked his side with her arm and then her foot to mess with him, he was skilled enough to have done it.
She did not manage to relax; she did not even know what was going on… For that? She would not relent for she saw no real reason to have relaxed, she would not be willing to let it all come to an end… There was something else here, something about it all would be needing it for now…
There was too much to this, something that needed to be dismayed for now… The chaos which would not have mattered, which would have been done with for the moment as of now.
She was not going to relent, to relax… Even when it came down to something like this, she would not be allowed to let it all come crashing down, she would not be ready to deal with it for this very moment.
The more he had on his mind? The more he felt ready to scream, to cry, to relax, and let it all come crashing down to the ground.
Oliver looked over to Kaina who had been exhausted, she had been too tired for now as she seemed to be too tired.
Even then? He had been too interested in whatever next came. He sighed and took another bite of his food before deciding to slowly start to climb to his feet, tapping his fingers on the ground before he shook his head and then looked around the ground.
She had been too interested in whatever was going on before she seemed to be too interested in the next sort of idea for now.
"You know more and more? The longer we are going to be here…. It will not end today and it will not end well at all… There is a LOT of chaos which I need to deal with it." Oliver stated.
"You are the one who had caused problems with the way things are," Kaina stated to which she paused.
She knew more and more about what was coming next and what would come next… Even then? She could not allow it to come down this way.
She could not blame him for doing what was heroic for now, it had been something that needed to be dealt with for now. She clicked her tongue against the roof of her mouth and then slowly started to climb to her feet.
The boy was annoying… But it was her friend and she knew him at that moment, she knew more and more with each passing moment what was going on… She had been too unwilling to deal with the fact it was her fault that had slowly started to spiral from control.
Kaina crossed the room, one-foot step behind the other as she knew whatever was coming next? There was an idea that needed to brew, they had to be willing to make more and more mistakes.
"You are a fool at times, Ollie. You never stop trying to see the beast in people even when it came down to it… There was always going to be problems. They always make more and more problems." Oliver heard from Kaina as he rolled his eyes.
"There is always going to be problems with society at the end of the day, Kaina… That is how life is. You never get what you want, the more time you push forwards." Oliver stated.
It was not meant to be some cruel joke. She knew him and she knew he was not going to be a soldier for now and she knew at the end of the day that they were both beyond it for now.
This chaos was something that she could not manage when it came down to it as it was all said and done as of now. They had a rhythm that had been prepared for the worst part of it.
There was too much to deal with for now, it was too much to bear at the end of the day, such chaos seemed to be dealt with for now as it all came crashing down to the ground.
He had not been able to think, to act, and to let it all come down to it as he seemed to be dealt with it.
Oliver was too interested in what was growing on his mind as he clicked a finger, he had been willing to put in.
Kaina was too interested in what he had in mind, knowing that sometimes? She was just as thrown off by him at the end of the day and she would not let it all come crashing down to the ground, she would not allow it to end as she paused.
She clicked and rested her hands on her knees, knowing what the next move would have been for now. It was too amusing and it would remain too amusing to her as she tapped a hand on her wounded arm then sighed to let it all sink in.
"Your roommate is a wanted fugitive," Kaina stated.
"Vigilante," Oliver said as he hummed as he paused, and then looked to the side, knowing what was growing on the mend. "Vigilante… Ms. Super shot." Oliver stated before he sighed and then looked to the ground.
He sighed to look downwards at the ground, too interested in the next move he could have possibly made.
She sighed as she looked to the ground, knowing what was growing on the brain.
She would not be able to relax lest she fall apart. So much was growing more and more on her mind and she paused to let it all come to the forefront.
