It has been some time since Lincoln called home to speak with Lori and Lily.
Lori may have been bossy and a bit of a bully while she was in hight school with her whole "being the oldest child" nonsense in so-called privileges but he had no honest reason to be mad at her. Lori was just barley in collage and from the video chat sent send home she appeared to be struggling as there was a lot more assignments and homework at college than anything she got used to in high school.
Plus it didn't help that she had to go to practice for the Fairway University's golf team every single day and she had to put extra effort as she was the only freshman student on the team and she needed to prove herself to the rest of her teammates and her coach.
So Lincoln forgave her for forgetting his birthday and that since she's been away at college she has not mistreated him in any sort of way...
Lily also got to pass in Lincoln's mind as she was still technically an infant by any definition and was just barely potty trained and she still cannot even speak in full sentences.
Lincoln had no reason to be mad at her as even if she did remember his birthday which she probably did she would have no choice in the matter as other than him most of the other family can't understand a word or action she is trying to do and most of the time she's dragged around with the others since she cannot be left alone...
"Maybe I should forgive the others...in due time as right now Lynn and Lola are probably blaming me saying everything is my fault or something like that! Those two almost never take responsibility for their actions until things get way out of hand."said Lincoln as he knew of his sister's selfish nature especially when it comes to Lynn and Lola.
"Well let's not focus on that let's just try to get to Turffield and earn your first gym badge. Now let's see I should have the advantage since I have Scorbunny, Rookidee, and Metapod on my team and each one of them has a type advantage. Chewtle won't be used until later as grass types have an advantage over water types. Also I shouldn't underestimate Milo as you don't become a gym leader from being a weak Pokemon trainer and that dude has muscles my dad would be jealous and envious to have."said Lincoln as he began to wonder how much exercise someone got from doing farm work as Milo from what he saw was an extremely good shape.
Liam worked on a farm as well so Lincoln began to wonder if future Liam would look anything like Milo.
The man looks like he could crush another person's body like an egg!
Lincoln shook his head as this was a scary thought and he didn't want to think of it anymore until his stomach started growling. Wondering what was going on he checked the time on his Rotom phone.
"Okay I guess it's lunch time in Royal Woods since my stomach is growling like crazy! I have got to get used to the different time zones as I know I have only been here in Galar for a few days so I honestly don't know when my body will get used to the different time zone since I'm literally on the other side of the world which means time works differently here."said Lincoln as he removed his backpack and pulled out his trainer cube.
Soon Lincoln pulled out cooking equipment from the trainer cube and begin to place everything in the right place as although he was only a child he already knew how to cook since in a house with so many people there are times where you have to cook your own meals if the others are too busy...since Dad who is the cook of the house is either busy with the restaurant or his sisters.
"Okay everything is now set and now for a little help from my Pokemon...Come on out everyone!"said Lincoln as he tossed his Pokeballs in the air releasing all of his Pokemon.
"Scor!
"Rook!"
"Chew!"
"Metapod!"
"Okay guys it's lunch time so let's eat some Curry! Sonia taught me a few curry recipes when we were staying at Professor Magnolia's house so let's cook!"exclaimed Lincoln as he pulled out several ingredients.
"Okay first I will use these oran and pecha berries I picked up in the Wild Area that almost got me in trouble with the wild Pokemon who are seriously territorial about their food supply...!"said Lincoln recalling the many times he was chased by various Pokemon in the wild area as he was peeling the berries skin off and placing said berries into the pot.
"Hmm...now should I use the pungent root I found near the river...no I'll use some of those tasty looking apples I found in the more wooded area of the Wild Area."said Lincoln as he pulled out some apples from his trainer cube and began to carefully remove the skin with a knife
After peeling all the apples skin carefully off Lincoln place said apple's into the pot along with several other ingredients one needed to make curry. One good stir later and it was time to heat up the pot!
"Scorbunny light up the twigs underneath the pot with ember please."said Lincoln as Scorbunny did as he was told and used ember to light up the wood underneath the pot which quickly set on fire.
"Now to fan the flames with this fan."said Lincoln as he pulled out a fan and started fatting the flames.
"Dad told me this is how many people used old school fans to make the flames more intense when they were cooking outside in the days before technology. Cowboys and Ronin would have to be outside a lot because of... their career path so learning how to make flames more intense for warm meals was an essential skill."said Lincoln as he stopped fanning the flames as he figured that the flames were at a good enough temperature.
"Okay Lincoln now stir the pot at a constant pace but don't do it too fast or the curry will spill and don't do it too slow or the curry will get burnt and it won't taste so good."said Lincoln making sure he was stirring the pot at a pace that wasn't too fast or too slow.
His Pokémon noticed that whatever was cooking in the pot started to smell good as they quickly approached Lincoln except for Metapod who for some reason look like it was spacing out.
After a couple of minutes of careful stirring while making sure to put enough love and energy into the dish as his father always told him with no love a dish will taste terrible Lincoln finished stirring the pot and had Chewtle put out the flames with water gun.
"Okay that should be good enough let's eat everyone."said Lincoln as he pulled out a ladle and started pouring the curry in each of his Pokemon's food bowls before pulling a plate of Curry for himself.
He then placed each one of the food bowls in front of each respective Pokemon before sitting on a nearby rock to eat his Curry.
"Okay since I'm the chef I have to taste it first before you guys can eat it since I don't want you guys to eat bad Curry."said Lincoln as he took his spoon and grabbed a bit of the curry from his plate.
"Well... here goes nothing!"said Lincoln as he took a bite of the curry only to drop his spoon a few seconds later.
His Pokémon were caught off guard by this wondering what was going on until he grabbed a spoon again and began chowing down on the curry.
"This Curry is DELICIOUS!"said Lincoln who was amazed by the flavor!
His Pokemon noticed his reaction and took a bite of their curries as well and had similar reactions as they began showing down on their Curry.
Metapod was the only one not eating as Lincoln did not pour out any food for him as he knew from his Pokedex that at this stage Metapod didn't really eat as it didn't have a mouth.
Soon everyone who had food in front of them now had nothing but empty plates and bowls as they laid down on the ground with satisfied faces.
"Okay we're going to lay down here for a few minutes while the food sales in our stomachs. Then we continue on to Galar Mines until the sun sets."said Lincoln.
About half an hour later Lincoln was once again on the road after carefully cleaning the cooking equipment with help from Chewtle. All of his Pokemon were back in their pokéballs except for Metapod who Lincoln was carrying.
"Metapod are you okay you been acting very strange lately?"asked Lincoln but he got no response from the cocoon Pokemon as he just continued to stare off into the distance.
Lincoln was about to ask him if he was okay again when a Pokemon jumped right in front of them. Lincoln quickly recognized the Pokemon as a galarian Zigzagoon as he had fought one earlier courtesy of Team Yell.
"Oh great it probably smells food on us and wants to take it."said Lincoln who was about to call out another Pokemon when Metapod out of nowhere jumped out of his arms right in front of Zigzagoon.
"You want to fight Metapod but the only moves you can use are tackle, harden, and string shot."said Lincoln and in response Metapod just looked at him before turning back to Zigzagoon.
"I guess I have no choice then okay Metapod use tackle!"exclaimed Lincoln and in response to cocoon Pokemon struck Zigzagoon with tackle.
Zigzagoon didn't appear to like this and you scratch attack on the cocoon Pokemon causing it some damage.
"Metapod use harden!"said Lincoln and in response the cocoon Pokemon began glowing revealing that it's defense had been raised.
Zigzagoon was annoyed by this and used its own taco attack on the cocoon Pokemon causing it some damage.
"Metapod!"said Lincoln as he noticed a crack in Metapod's shell.
But something unexpected happened as Metapod began glowing a blue and white glow. Lincoln look down as he saw more cracks appear on Metapod's shell and soon a large crack appeared on its back as something started to come out of Metapod shell.
Soon within moments the creature that was coming out of Metapod completely came out revealing a Pokemon that look a lot like a butterfly.
"So pretty..."said Lincoln who found the Pokemon beautiful as he pulled out his Pokedex.
Pokedex: Butterfree the butterfly Pokemon and the evolved form of Metapod! In battle it flaps its wings at great speed to release highly toxic dust into the air.
Butterfree has now learned the moves gust and bug bite.
"Okay let's show this Zigzagoon what you can do Butterfree use gust!"ordered Lincoln and in response the butterfly Pokemon let out powerful gusts of wind striking Zigzagoon causing damage.
"Zigzagoon!"exclaim the raccoon Pokemon as it charge towards Butterfree intending to use scratch attack.
"Bug bite!"explain Lincoln causing Butterfree to bite Zigzagoon with the super effective move causing a great damage.
Zigzagoon, quickly realizing that this was a losing battle you send attack and started kicking sand towards Lincoln and Butterfree. Lincoln shielded his eyes as Butterfree used its wings to keep the sand at Bay until it finally settled down revealing that the raccoon Pokemon had fled.
"Oh man! I really wanted to add another member to my team...oh well at least I have an awesome new member on my team in you Butterfree!"said Lincoln as the butterfly Pokemon flew down and landed on his head.
"Now let's keep moving towards Galar mines and eventually Turffield."said Lincoln as he continued walking straight down Route 3 knowing that it was a straight line Galar Mines.
Lincoln just smiled as he looked at his newly evolved Pokemon and realize with Butterfree by his side he had a much better chance against Milo in his upcoming gym battle.

Hey guys PrimusPilus here with some news.
I know I haven't updated the story in a while and I was because of writer's block but it appears to a finally subsided.
Anyway next chapter should come out soon as Lincoln encounters a very familiar and arrogant individual that we all know and love!
We all know who I'm talking about now let's see if Lincoln can take him on as he passed through Galar Mines.
