Chapter Twelve| Kiss me Softly, Love me Gently

My relationship with Jane was progressing, though I knew she would never become close to me in a familial manner.

She stayed in my proximity and listened to me when I wanted to talk to Alec alone.

There was no anger or jealousy, she knew I was a better mother for her brother than Queen Sulpicia ever was. She could tell that things were better, and she knew she wouldn't ever try to tear apart my role as Alec's mother for the rest of eternity just because they didn't share the same mother anymore.

I was sitting in Caius and I's chambers one afternoon, lying against the loveseat that was in the room. The fireplace was lit as always, the warmth being the only thing that kept me from wrapping a blanket around me.

It also helped whenever Caius insisted on snuggling with me, carding his fingers through my hair and muttering his sweet nothings in Italian and sometimes Greek to me. The warmth kept me from demanding him to keep his arms off of me, though it would be the last thing I wanted.

I sighed and just laid there, on the loveseat, turning slowly so I could look up at the mural above me. I always seemed to find something that I hadn't seen before. Sometimes I would have Alec or Caius lay with me so they could point out details they hadn't thought much about before. Our own little Sistine Chapel mural.

The chamber doors opened and the familiar sound of Caius's boots thundering on the marble flooring as he made his way towards me allowed me to know he was coming to see me.

He had shut the chamber doors without me even realizing. I was too busy preoccupied with trying not to fall asleep from the warmth of the fireplace and the calmness that came with peering up at the mural ceiling.

"Cicco, I want to ask you something. I understand if you say no, but it would mean a lot to me if you said yes…"

My eyes flickered towards Caius, as he sat down in front of me and brought his fingers up to run through my hair. The gentleness that overcame him let me know he wouldn't be upset with me saying no. He just wanted to try something out.

"Y-Yes?"

Caius took a shaky breath and closed his eyes as he looked off to the side. There was both shame and eagerness to him. He wanted me to know what was on his mind.

"I have been wanting nothing more than to bathe you, Cicco. I want to take care of you completely. I know that Heidi is the one who takes care of you when she can or one of our female guards but…"

My breath became rattled at what he had proposed to me. I blushed bright red at the thought of Caius seeing me naked and bathing me.

I had to be honest, I had thought that I would automatically say no to him. If I were able to do so I thought I would have slapped him across the face, hard. It would result in me breaking my hand but still.

Instead what came out of my mouth was, "y-yes. O-Okay. I trust you."

Slowly but surely I opened my eyes and saw the utmost surprise across my handsome vampire king's face. He looked at me as though I had told him something he wanted to hear since the very moment he had met me. He broke out in a beautiful grin, the skin around his eyes crinkled up and a warmth swallowed the crimson in his eyes.

Holding out my arms, I allowed Caius to scoop me up in his arms before he led me into the extravagant bathroom that was in the same color scheme as the bedroom chambers.

The same black and gold accents, with a garden tub that was black marble and faucets that were golden. A large golden gilded mirror hung on one of the walls, while on another wall there was a sink. A stained glass window that took up a quarter of one of the walls was of every color there possibly could be. The ceiling was of painted golden roses with black vines.

Caius sat me on one of the antique love chairs that was in the bathroom, meant for me to lie on while my bath was being started. Caius went over to the bath and started it, making sure the water wouldn't be too hot nor too cold. He added some bath salts in the water, which came with rose petals. The stained glass window let out little twinkles of color against the dark inner scheme.

Once the bath had been prepared, Caius came over to me.

He slowly picked up the end of my shirt and pulled it up over my head, which in return made my hair rustle some from the movement.

I blushed as he grabbed the back hooks of my bra and pulled it off, revealing my bare breasts for him. He didn't brush his fingers against my breasts nor stare at them, instead he grabbed part of my waist up and pulled my pants off.

He was ever the gentleman to me. I still didn't know how I deserved him.

Then he pulled off my panties, which in return showed my bare body to him. I could feel his eyes on me, there was a heated look upon his features which let me know he was appreciating my body despite not having much muscle to it.

He stood up and began to pull his own layers off until he was dressed only in silk black boxers that clung to him deliciously.

They showed off his bulge and rested around his hip bones, there was no happy trail on him even though that didn't make him any less sexy. His abs were ever prominent and moved with every part of him that stretched.

He took off all the chained jewels from his hair in order to make sure they wouldn't get in the way when he would get into the bathwater with me.

He pulled his hair up in a high bun and turned to look at me. He seemed actually shy for once, even though he didn't show his lower half to me–that would happen when I would become a vampire and we would consummate our marriage.

He came over to me and scooped me up in his arms. He had done this for what felt like a million times in the time I had been here.

He didn't run his fingers against mine, though I knew he would end up doing so when he would wash me. He led us towards the garden bathtub and stepped into it, the water rippling some and sending the petals around us. The bathwater gave off floral scents and I took deep breaths at the scent of the water, imagining that I was somewhere tropical and was about to dip into the ocean.

He settled us into the water and I opened my eyes, he had me resting against his body. The cold of his skin and the warmth of the water added a strange reaction to my body.

I both wanted to stay in the tub and in his arms but also wanted to get out.

It reminded me of when one would jump into a swimming pool and then get out so they could get into the hot tub but it was happening at the very same time for me. My skin was flushed and goosebumps had erupted and danced across the surface of my skin.

Caius grabbed the bath cloth that he had near us and wet it with some water before he began to lather up my skin with bath soap. I sighed in relief and slumped back as he made sure to rub the cloth enough that it made my muscles loosen up. The water sloshed some as he dipped the cloth further, past my navel but never going between my legs.

Without thinking I took his hand that held the cloth and placed it between my legs, for as he rubbed the cloth against my skin I felt arousal for the first time.

I wanted more and Caius took a sharp breath, before whispering, "Cicco…"

A quiet warning, letting me know that I shouldn't play with fire.

I squeezed his wrist, not saying anything, but letting him know that it was okay for him to continue.

He was gentle and made sure to give me the attention he claimed I deserved.

He let his hand move in circular motions, never pushing hard enough but not completely pulling the cloth away. I sighed in bliss, wanting to chase this ecstasy he was giving me with just a simple bath cloth in his hands. The water began to slosh some more and my body tensed up as I was about to reach completion for the very first time in my life also.

I let out a loud gasp as I exploded into tiny shards of stardust.

My body clenched and what essence was in me poured out. I shook some from the completion and Caius pulled the cloth away from between my legs before he took the side of my face and turned my head upwards so he could look at me with that sweetness he always gave me.

"I love you, Cicco. I love you and will love you no matter what. Whether you are still in this state when you are turned or not, do not mistake my feelings for you in the future. You mean the world to me, end of discussion."

His fingers were shaking some as he ran his fingers against my cheekbone and then brushed it against my lips. I opened my mouth without thinking and he pressed his lips against mine. I stiffened for a moment, not expecting to have this wondrous feeling added ten fold, as he stuck his tongue into my mouth and let it run throughout the crevices of my mouth. I gripped him hard and let my tongue shyly dance with his, losing myself in this foreign kissing technique.

Eventually he pulled away from me and brought us out of the bath before he sat me up against the tub, where there was a comfortable rug resting there I hadn't seen before.

Caius drained the tub and scooped me up along with a towel in his other hand. He left the bathroom and went over to where our large bed was before placing the towel down first, and then resting me against it. He kissed me on my forehead and then went over to where the doors were and locked them, in case Alec decided he wanted to check in on me.

Coming back over to me, Caius sat down next to me and began to dry me off.

His bun still stayed in its sexy place on the top of his head. He arched one of his eyebrows in good nature as he noticed how I seemed even more flushed with his hair pulled in a bun. "I see you approve of my hair bun. Perhaps in the future I will wear it more often like this."

As he began to dry me off some more the prickling of arousal came over me once again. My eyes widened in embarrassment and as though he sensed this, Caius pulled away from drying me off.

"I'm sorry, Cicco. I should have expected you to be overstimulated. You've never felt carnal pleasure before. Not even self pleasure for yourself. I should–"

"No."

He had turned away from me near the end of his comment, though when I had said that he snapped his head towards me. He narrowed his eyes and seemed a little weary at what I had said. As though I didn't know what I meant when I had told him he could continue cleaning me off, even if it resulted in me having a second orgasm.

"You wish for me to continue? Even if you receive the same results as in the bathtub?"

"Y-Yes. Please. M-Make me f-feel like a r-real woman."

"If anyone has ever told you that you are not a real woman I will rip their intestines out and castrate them," Caius growled, his eyes darkening enough it was concerning. It made shivers rush through my skin with tiny little goosebumps.

And so he did what I asked him to do. He rubbed all the curves and nerves of my body with his towel I was lying on, pressing in a little bit when he would receive a little wanton moan from me. My head thrashed to the side in the pleasure he brought me, pieces of hair sticking to my forehead from the bathwater and the sweat. My fingers did not tighten upon the bedsheets I was on, they were moving some but never clenched in fists or grasping the bedsheets.

He dried me off and slipped on a nice late summer dress over my head, one that was a cheerful yellow. It wasn't lacy or anything that was too girly but it was cute. It wasn't really something I would have picked out for myself but I didn't find any faults in it. I just never had the chance to pick clothes I wanted and wear them since so many clothes I wanted were hard to wear due to my disability. The last thing we needed was me struggling with putting clothes on.

He began to brush out my hair, humming one of the opera ballads he always had played or sang for me. He had made sure he squeezed the water out from the roots of my hair, along with the ends. Every now and then he leant his head down and kissed me on the crown of my head. He was just taking in the fact that he was able to pleasure me once with a simple bath cloth, only for me to be wanting him to use the towel he was going to dry me off a second time.

"Caius?"

"Hmm?"

"I love you."

Silence.

The only thing that I could feel and swore I could hear was the beating of my heart. I knew he would be able to hear my heart beating rapidly in my chest. He knew I was more than nervous at what he would end up doing. Even if he told me he loved me already, in that sweet secluded slice of heaven we had back in the bathtub.

We were interrupted by the sound of knocking on the chamber doors, which in return made Caius sigh. He propped me up against the decorative pillows and slid off the bed before going over to where the doors were. I watched him patiently, my fingers tapping against the skirt of my dress, part of my legs were bare and able to see while there were other parts that were covered with the skirt.

The doors opened and I watched weary as Aro came gliding into the chambers with that signature smile upon his lips. He clasped his hands together, noting with a smirk how his king brother made sure to not have any skin of his touch.

"Good afternoon, brother. Ah and Bella, my darling future sister, you look exquisite in that yellow dress. I am pleased to think I won't have to see that same color in your eyes after you are turned into one of us, do I?"

I frowned at the blatant disrespect Aro had towards animal drinkers. I still didn't think there was anything wrong with drinking animals instead of humans, but I didn't think too much about it to be honest. I would decide my diet of choice after I became a vampire, perhaps once I would try both styles and see which one I liked more.

"Aro, please explain why you are here. Unlike you, Bella and I are not keen to drag out conversations or situations more than they are needed to," Caius commanded, in a tone that I knew no one else could get away with if they were speaking to Aro. Since Caius was his brother, he was able to do this, otherwise he would have probably been executed.

"You're no fun, Caius. If you insist though, I am here to tell Bella she will start her etiquette and other classes on how to become a queen today. Sulpicia will be teaching her."

Caius growled, a little deeper than I expected, though he bit his tongue. He merely placed his arms around him and scooped me up. I laid easily in his arms as he walked out of the chambers with Aro behind him. Aro brought the wheelchair with him, since he knew that I would still need it, and might possibly need it even when I would be turned.

We went through a couple corridors, nowhere that really seemed out of place. Something that even the tourists might have seen down on the ground/first floor of the castle.

The sunlight came gleaming through the windows and didn't make any shimmers appear upon my vampire but I still thought he was beautiful. He shot me a small smile, his high bun reminding me how he was being more of his true self slowly but surely in front of everyone instead of just me. He gently squeezed me in his arms, so quick I barely even felt it, but enough to let me know he wouldn't just outright accept this outrage of scheduling lessons.

Finally we reached two stained glass doors that were designed with the Volturi Crest in the middle of each of the doors with their traditional dark scheme coven colors. Aro came up and opened the doors, the crimson glass doorknobs twinkled, catching a little ray of sunlight. They opened without any sound, which in return brought to attention the room we were to go into.

The room was on the smaller, cozier side than the large and grand open spaced rooms that were usually found in this castle. The walls were the original stone of the castle, while the floors had deep red carpet that covered every inch. There were multiple bookshelves, pointing out that this was a private library.

A bay window was straight across from where I was in Caius's arms, but in front of the window there were two armchairs and a side table between them, a silver curved candelabra with the same crimson hue wax candles I usually saw in this castle were lit–three of them (they probably represented the kings). The bay windows were covered with velvet black curtains that danced across the carpeted floor. One of the armchairs held Queen Sulpicia in all her glory.

Queen Sulpicia was sitting calmly in her chair, a wine glass flute. One could see the crimson liquid that was swirling within the contained glass. She was after all lightly twirling the glass flute around with a twirl of her wrist. None of the liquid came out, the balance she was able to have and coordination was obviously linked to her vampirism.

She was still wearing that stupid crown with that black train of a veil. In fact, she was wearing the same exact ensemble she had worn when she had officially met me. A power play in her eyes. Everything about her was a power play to be honest.

"Husband, Brother…Sister…"

The sourness in her voice was obvious.

She wasn't trying to not show her displeasure at seeing and addressing me.

She was acknowledging we would be sister wives, but that was all it was.

A title, a title without anything sweet and kind attached to it.

She knew she couldn't get rid of me but she wasn't going to fight about it anymore, especially because that would mean Alec would have to use his Gift on her. Something had happened to her also long before I had come into the picture.

Caius led me to the other chair and sat me down before kissing me on the forehead, eyes closing, and I knew the both of us were remembering what had taken place within our chambers, both in the bedroom and in the bathroom. He gave a low chuckle as he could feel my face heat up at the way he had used his hands with that cloth and then that towel.

Queen Sulpicia cleared her throat, and Caius pulled away from me. She had sat her wine glass flute down onto a coaster so that the precipitation did not ruin the table. She picked up the other wine glass flute and poured some of that red liquid into it from the glass wine pitcher. She had an amused smirk on her crimson painted lips.

"Wine, dear sister?"

"No-No thank you."

"Ah, why? Is it because of the fact that you're just a child, only eighteen? Or is it because of the fact that you can't even hold the fucking flute to begin with?"

"Sulpicia."

Said vampire queen chewed the corner of her mouth before she sat the wine glass flute down. She let her eyes flicker from me to her brother king and then her husband. She nodded her head, as though she was thinking something, before she decided to say something.

"Yes. I did not call you here to verbally abuse you. Even if I find it quite amusing…"

" I called you here so I can mentor you in the proper ways on how to become a queen. You'll need to learn all the rules of eloquence and the history of vampirism. Every other day will be one subject and then the other. You'll have the weekends off, of course. I am not a complete monster."

"Demetri will watch over the lessons. He is a neutral observer, Sulpicia. He will not take your side or mine. He has been one of our original guards, one of the four," Caius decided, in a manner to let everyone they would not even think to contradict his decision.

"I shall go and get Demetri then. You can stay with Bella until Demetri comes. Then I need you to come to the main library so you can help me with some ancient manuscripts on vampirism that our archaeologists have discovered from China."

Caius nodded his head and Aro walked out of the room, the stained glass doors shutting behind him.

A minute later Caius grabbed the vampire queen by her throat and growled, deep and throaty enough I shivered from the anger. Her burgundy red eyes widened for once in fear, her body shaking at the fact that he had put his hands on her. He had never done this in the past, but for once he had snapped and she knew he wouldn't kill her but that didn't mean it wasn't terrifying.

"I am sick and tired of the way you think you are holier than anyone else in this coven. If anyone is the most holy in this coven it is Bella for she is an angel and embodies purity. You will keep your mouth shut, and be a proper monarch for fuck's sake! You are a queen, act like it! You have been in power by yourself when it comes to queenly duties but no more. That stops right now. I will rip your jaw from your pretty little face and hand it back to you after you learn your lesson if you ever think about speaking that way to my mate ever again."

My mouth fell open at the proclamation before Caius threw her back, enough for her veiled crown to fall off her head and hit the ground in a thud. The veil was a few inches away from hitting the lit candle when it was falling, but thankfully we didn't have to worry about starting a fire in the private library. It merely sat there, on its side.

Caius picked up the wine pitcher and opened one of the bay windows with the crank handle before throwing it out and letting it fall down onto the stone pathways below. He turned and looked at her, "and don't think I didn't smell the blood you put into that wine."

He gave me one last kiss on the head as Demetri came into the room while Aro waited outside of the room. The doors shut behind him and I turned to look at the queen. She straightened herself up and picked up her crown before fixing it on her head. Clearing her throat, she began an introduction in the world of vampires and the meaning of being a queen.

AUTHOR'S NOTE: update 3 of 3

I was wondering, should I have Bella be healed from her disability when she is changed or flip the script and keep her in her wheelchair?

as always: Twilight doesn't belong to me.
