[Galar Region: Hammerlocke]
Lincoln walked into the streets of Hammerlocke and was amazed by what he saw. It looked like Hammerlocke was all connected to a giant castle which Lincoln assume was the gym stadium where gym challengers could face the final hurdle of the gym challenge, Raihan!
As Lincoln looked around he saw a very familiar looking face...The face belonging to Bede.
"I have collected more wishing stars as you have requested, Chairman."said Bede, as Lincoln noticed that his rival was talking to the Chairman, who was in disguise.
"Good work, Bede. I see you haven't forgotten to appreciate everything the Fhairman has done for you. I and impressed that you have collected so many wishing stars and know you will continue to make the Chairman proud."said Oleana, with her usual emotionless face.
"I'm doing everything in my power to show that the Chairman was wise to choose me."said Bede, as the Chairman look like he was amused.
"I don't know about that. Now don't get me wrong Bede, I know you're a very skilled Pokemon trainer but answer me this. How do you feel when stacked up next to the champion?"asked Chairman Rose, wondering where Bede considered himself.
"With all due respect I showed one of the champion's sponsored gym challengers how weak he really was. Hop it's supposed to be the little brother of the champion and yet he was not much of a challenge. So I believe if that's the best champion can do then I will surely beat the champion. No... I will beat the champion!"said Bede with confidence.
'Pretty big talk for someone who's never beating me in a battle and I'm a champion endorsed gym Challenger.' thought Lincoln, as this guy had an ego almost as bad as Lynn's
"Well then, I guess we will see if that is true at the upcoming League battle at the Rose bowl."said Chairman Rose, wondering how far his endorsed gym Challenger will get.
"Thank you for everything as always, Chairman Rose. Now if you will excuse me I need to go and collect more wishing stars on route five."said Bede as he excused himself.
"I see you were listening to our conversation, Lincoln."said Chairman Rose, noticing the young Pokemon trainer.
"How can you endorse that guy who has a serious ego problem."said Lincoln, who clearly was not a fan of Bede.
"Bede is a bit of a complicated soul and I will admit that he has shown immaturity in his decisions. But I believe he has skill and with time he will be humbled. So it's best not to let talent go to waste just because that talent has a bit of an attitude problem."said Chairman Rose, as Lincoln just grumbled in agreement as he had a point.
"I see you have noticed the gym stadium for the dragon master, Raihan. Well, for your information, every time Raihan has a battle at the stadium that energy that he uses for dynamaxing is converted into usable electricity underneath the stadium thanks to special machines and is distributed all throughout the Galar Region."said Chairman Rose, as Lincoln figured that was the case as somehow dynamax energy could be used for energy.
"Wow. Coal, air power, solar power, and now dynamax energy. What can't you turn into energy, Chairman?"asked Lincoln, as it appeared that the Chairman had his fingers in every energy source in all of Galar.
"Well many would say that I love Galar more than anyone else in the entire world. I want to make sure this region prospers and stands for another millennia. I love Galar. It is my home and I hope that it will stand for many, many generations to come."said the Chairman, as Lincoln could see how he was so real respected as it was clear to him that the Chairman truly believed everything he said.
"Now I believe you were here to see the vault. I we'll make arrangements for you to meet up with Sonia in the vault so you can see for yourself the great history of the Galar Region."said Chairman Rose, before Oleana whispered something into his ear.
"I'm afraid I will have to be going, but Oleana we'll make the necessary arrangements for you to meet up with young Sonia on the vault. Good luck on your journey young loud as I'm sure Leon picked you out for a reason."said Chairman Rose as he and Oleana began to leave.
"I think the vault is just west of here."said Lincoln, remembering that the vault was in the same direction that would take him to Stow-on-Side.
So without hesitation Lincoln began walking in the direction that would take him to the vault. Sure enough he passed by a few shops that appear to be connected to the large castle that was technically Hammerlocke. Lincoln was amazed by how a giant castle was turned into a whole city as everything looks so interesting as it was basically a combination of medieval architecture and modern technology.
"Man I can't wait for Clyde, Ronnie Anne, and the others to get a look at this."said Lincoln as he began to leave the gates of Hammerlocke.
"Okay. According to my Rotom phone... the vault should just be beyond this door."said Lincoln as he stepped through a large wooden door and was amazed to see that Raihan was there.
"Oh, I know you. Your one of the Pokemon trainers Leon decided to endorse."said Raihan, who look like he was playing with his Rotom phone."I think your name was Larry."
"My name is Lincoln."corrected Lincoln, as he hated being called Larry.
"Sorry about that. I'll be sure to remember that as I have a feeling you're going to face me sooner or later. Just to let you know you need seven other gym badges before you can face me in a gym battle."said Raihan as Lincoln wondered how he could talk and mess with his Rotom phone at the same time.
"I'm actually here to check out the vault. I got permission from Chairman Rose to look at the contents inside."said Lincoln, as Raihan appeared to be taking a selfie.
"Well that's quite a good idea if I do say so myself. Learning about the great history of the Galar Region is quite an interesting way to become a better Pokemon trainer and I can totally dig that. Look all you want and I'm pretty sure Leon's childhood friend is there as well."said Raihan, before he began leaving and somehow he was able to look where he was going despite having his eyes stare at nothing but his Rotom phone.
"How do people do that?"said Lincoln, as not even Lori could be on her phone and not look where she was going.
"Oh well, I'm not here for him anyway... not yet at least."said Lincoln as he began to go up the stone staircase that would take him to the vault.
"Raihan must be the one in charge of protecting the vault and that's why he was here. I heard rumors that he could be a champion anywhere else but he chooses to stay in Galar for the sole purpose of beating Leon. That guy has been the closest to defeating Leon and yet he has not even accomplished it yet. I wonder if he'll keep on trying until he finally defeats him."said Lincoln as he finished walking up the final step before reaching the vault.
"Okay... at any moment the electric locks will open and I can go in."said Lincoln as he heard a click sound in he quickly pushed the large wooden doors away so he can enter the vault.
What Lincoln saw neck was amazing as he saw four old tapestries on the walls of the vault that looked like they were older than anything he has ever seen before. And at the center of the vault was none other than Sonia.
"Oh, your here. It's fascinating to see that they're still treasure tapestries around to tell us the great history of Galar."said Sonia as she began pointing at each tapestry.
"Two youths watching a wishing Star."
"A disaster occurs...the to bewildered youths."
"The youths looking on to the sword and shield to stop the disaster."
"The youths being crowned."
Lincoln looked at each tapestry and was amazed by the story it told as he can somehow feel like the tapestries were showing images into his head about the story of The Darkest Day!
"These tapestries tell the story of a creation of a kingdom in Galar. Say, young Challenger, what sticks out the most to you about these tapestries?"asked Sonia.
"That there are two heroes instead of one."was d Lincoln, as the statue at the Budew Inn showed only one hero but these tapestry show two youths.
"bang on! The statue at the hotel in Monostoke clearly only showed one hero, no matter how you slice it. But here, we clearly have two youths. Was they're only one hero or were there two? And what even caused The Darkest Day?"asked Sonia, as there was more questions than answers.
"Maybe someone messed with the history."said Lincoln, as it wouldn't be the first time that someone tried to alter history for their own benefit.
"Maybe. Thanks for letting me spout my theories to you. I know you must be busy especially since you're going to Stow-on-Side to face the fighting type prodigy, Bea."said Sonia, as she knew Lincoln must be busy with his gym challenge.
"No problem. I'm actually glad I came to the vault as this place is beautiful and I hope to learn more about the history of Galar."said Lincoln with a smile before he waved Sonia goodbye and left the vault.
As Lincoln accident the vault he began making his way to Stow-on-Side before he noticed Hop.
"Hop!"shouted Lincoln as he ran over to his friend.
"Oh, hey Lincoln."said Hop with a weak smile.
"I heard what Bede did to you! Are you okay?!"asked Lincoln with worry.
"Yeah... I lost pretty badly."said Hop, has Lincoln sat down and patted him on the back.
"Talking usually helps."said Lincoln, willing to lend his friend an ear.
"I can take a loss. Being in Pokemon battles means you lose sometimes. But after Bede defeated me he said I was an embarrassment to Lee's name. He said that Lee must be a pathetic champion to have a brother like me. I can't stand the thought of anyone thinking Lee is weak. He's the unbeatable champion! So I got to show everyone that Lee is not weak by proving that jerking anyone else wrong with the perfect team!"said Hop, before getting up and running off!
"Hop! Wait!"shouted Lincoln, but his friend was far too gone to hear.
"No one things the champion is weak, Hop. I hope you can realize that and work for yourself instead of working for your brother. I know if he was here right now he would tell you the same thing."said Lincoln, feeling like his friend needed help as he was clearly stuck in a rut.
Bede insulting his brother must have really struck a nerve with Hop and now the idea of everyone thinking Leon was weak was consuming him.
"I have to fix this before he waste his talents."said Lincoln, as Hop should be training his Pokemon for him, not Leon and he knew Leon would agree with him on this!
