AN: Hello, everyone. Shadow750 here, and I decided to finally post my first fanfic. One based on the manga/anime Shikimori's Not Just a Cutie. I binged the first season and loved it. I've always been very hesitant to post a story, but I finally want to get something out there. Critiques, reviews, and advice on how I can not only improve the story but my writing and grammar, in general, are greatly appreciated.

Disclaimer: I don't own anything related to Shikimori's Not Just a Cutie or any of its characters.

Also, this story is going to mainly focus on Kamiya. I thought she was a very interesting character, so I decided to develop her in my own way.

Now, let the story begin!

Kamiya walked to school alone, as usual. She didn't mind, though. It was probably the only part of the day she got time to herself.

She was actually excited to go to school, because she had friends now. She wasn't excited about the constant crowd of people who always bothered her, though. Will it just be a normal day, or will Shikimori-san and Nekozaki-san make it better?

Kamiya put the question aside when she entered the school gates. She got to her classroom without being bothered by anyone, which she was grateful for. She frowned when she entered the classroom. Almost all of the students crowded around her.

"Hey there, Kamiya-san!"

"Can you help me with my homework?"

"You look as hot as usual!"

Kamiya forced a smile, trying her hardest not to glare at any of the students, especially the one who made the last comment. Just smile and act nice. It'll be over eventually.

Kamiya made her way to the back of the class, where she sat in the corner seat next to the window. She placed her elbow on the desk, resting her hand on her cheek, and looked out of the window. She watched as the leaves flew through the air, being carried by the gentle breeze. She then focused on the entire tree, then back to the leaves on the branches. A tree is like the main branch where leaves grow from… And each leaf on a tree is exactly identical… Kamiya looked at the various students in the classroom. So, why are we so different? Why am I so different?

Kamiya didn't have an answer. She didn't know why everyone adored her, but she felt like it was only because of her appearance. That's why anyone even bothers to notice me, right?

Before Kamiya could try to come up with an answer to her question, a student started yelling.

"Hey! Watch where you're going!"

Kamiya turned her head and saw a very tall student glaring at another student, who was much shorter.

"Sorry," the shorter student mumbled, looking at the ground.

"I don't want a damn apology! I just want you to get lost!" The taller student grabbed the shorter student by the front of his shirt.

"Please let me go. I need to get to my seat."

The taller student looked at the seat next to Kamiya's, then glared at the shorter student. "You sit next to Kamiya-san, right?"

The shorter student didn't even bother to look back at Kamiya. "If they sit in the seat that's in the back corner of the left side of the room, next to the window, then yes, I sit next to Kamiya-san."

"Who do you think you are, talking to me like I'm an idiot?! You think you're better than the rest of us just because you sit next to the most popular girl in school?!"

Kamiya looked away from them, resisting the urge to glare at the taller student.

"I don't even know you, so how can I label myself as better than you, or anyone in this school for that matter?" the shorter student asked, his voice surprisingly calm. Kamiya expected him to be angry with the position he was in.

"The teacher's coming!" a student alerted the taller student.

The taller student threw the shorter student onto his desk. The shorter student fell onto his chair and crashed against the wall, not even making a noise.

Kamiya looked down at the shorter student, but couldn't see the expression on his face since his entire face was covered by his jet-black bangs. How is he not angry? Why would he just let someone do that to him? She looked at his hands and noticed that they were clenched. So he is angry, he's just internalizing it.

The teacher walked into the classroom, but stopped when she saw the student on the ground. "What are you doing on the ground?"

The student got to his feet, picked up his chair, and pushed it under his desk. He glanced up at the teacher. "I tripped…"

Kamiya was surprised that he could lie so casually. His blunt tone made it hard to tell if he was lying. Still, why would he lie about the incident? He wasn't in the wrong, so why would he cover for the one who gave him a hard time?

"Well, let's begin today's lesson, then…"

It was the end of school, which Kamiya was grateful for because she had library duty. The library was used as a break room, so it was going to be a very relaxing afternoon.

She left the classroom before everyone else and made her way to the library. She looked around the library to see if anyone else was there, but no one was, to her relief. She decided to put some books away, hoping the task would take her mind off of her very crowded day, as well as the incident from earlier. She picked up a pile of books from a nearby table and started to put them away. She was almost finished, but she stopped when she heard the library door slide open. Someone's here…

Kamiya held her breath, anxiously waiting for the stranger to approach her. She flinched when she heard something hit a bookshelf, followed by a stifled groan. She walked towards the noise and saw the boy from the earlier incident in the classroom. He was of average height with a fair skin complexion. His black eyebrows were thin and furrowed, and he had sharp, narrowed red eyes. His jet-black hair was shoulder length, and his face was framed with center-parted bangs that extended to his chin. He was wearing the school uniform.

"Umm… Are you okay?" she hesitantly asked.

He glanced at her, then glared at his foot. After a few seconds, he took a deep breath, then looked at her. "I'm fine now."

"What did you kick?"

He just blinked. "...The bookshelf…" Even though it was a statement, it came out as a question. It's like her question confused him.

Why would he kick a bookshelf? Was he angry? Kamiya looked at his foot. "How's your foot? Does it hurt?"

"I just said it's fine."

Kamiya forced a smile, not wanting her disappointment to show. She couldn't bear the thought of having to help someone as blunt and rude as him. "I'm Kamiya, by the way." She bowed in greeting.

"Ryuga Kioshi…" He bowed as well.

Kamiya looked up at him. "It's nice to meet you."

"So, I'm supposed to be on library duty today, and I'm assuming you're here to help, too."

Kamiya was confused. Wait, I thought I was the only person on library duty today… "Umm… Sure… Would you mind helping me put these books away?"

In response, Ryuga walked towards Kamiya, reaching out a hand to grab the books she was holding.

Kamiya took a step back, causing Ryuga to stop instantly. "Oh, I meant the pile of books on the table."

Ryuga nodded, then turned around to get the books.

Kamiya didn't fail to notice the hurt look in his eyes. He must be very sensitive. I guess I should be more careful of what I say to him. "I didn't mean to reject your help. I appreciate it."

Ryuga clenched his fist for a brief second, then let it relax at his side. "It's fine… It's my fault for not being very aware or understanding of directions."

The disappointment in his voice made Kamiya smile sympathetically. "There's no reason for you to apologize to me. I should've been more descriptive."

Ryuga turned around to look at her, then frowned. "Please stop smiling."

Kamiya was confused. "Huh?"

"It isn't genuine. And your sympathy is just going to get on my nerves, so I would appreciate it if you would drop the act and just be yourself."

Kamiya was surprised now. Did someone actually see through her forced facade? And a complete stranger; someone she just met out of all people. All she could do was nod.

Ryuga started putting a pile of books away while Kamiya focused on her own pile, but she was too preoccupied with her thoughts. So far, this isn't turning out to be a good first impression. I can't be the person I make myself out to be around everyone around him. He wants me to be myself, but how can I? What if I embarrass myself? Kamiya snuck a glance at Ryuga, who also looked deep in thought. Despite how blunt he is, he is polite with his wording, and he isn't afraid to admit his mistakes, so maybe he'll be very understanding.

"That's all the books," Ryuga said, breaking Kamiya out of her thoughts.

"Good job. Do you know how to use the computers?"

Ryuga shook his head.

"Follow me. I'll teach you."

Ryuga looked at Kamiya hesitantly, then eventually nodded.

"You don't have to be nervous around me," Kamiya assured him.

"I'm not nervous around you."

Kamiya smiled, and it was actually genuine. This was probably the first time someone actually approached her and wasn't scared (besides Shikimori and Nekozaki). "Come on."

Kamiya led Ryuga to the back of the library to a desk with a computer. She opened a tab containing purchased books. "It's pretty simple. You type in the name of the person who borrowed on that day, and the checkout date."

Ryuga took his eyes away from the computer and looked at Kamiya. "That's it?"

Kamiya nodded, but was a little confused. Was he expecting this to be difficult?

"So… What do we do now?" Ryuga asked.

"Since no one is here, we can just relax." Kamiya stood from her chair, moved it to the empty spot to Ryuga's left, and sat down. "Do you like to read?"

"Yes."

Kamiya held her hand out to the bookshelves. "Well, we are in a library, so you can read anything you want."

Ryuga just looked back to the computer screen and started typing, confusing Kamiya.

"What are you doing?" she asked.

After clicking the mouse a few times, Ryuga looked at her. "I'm reading."

"We have books here, you know."

"I don't want to read any of those."

"Well, these computers aren't really supposed to be used for personal interest."

After a few seconds, Ryuga clicked off of the tab, then pulled out his phone. He typed and scrolled away, then stopped.

"What are you reading?" Kamiya asked, trying to start a conversation. She didn't want to spend the rest of the day in awkward silence with someone who obviously didn't like to socialize.

Ryuga slowly looked at her. "...A story."

"What's it called?"

He looked back at his phone. "I don't…feel comfortable telling you… Sorry."

Is he reading something inappropriate? Kamiya shook her head. Why would I even think that?! It shouldn't bother me what he reads. She looked at Ryuga's phone. Still, his secretiveness makes me even more curious. "I won't judge you."

Ryuga glanced at Kamiya, his eyes even more narrow than usual.

He doesn't trust me… I'll just have to earn his trust then! Kamiya lowered her head in a bow. "You have my word."

"How will I know if you will keep it?"

Kamiya held her smile, refusing to let his stubbornness get the best of her. "Because I also like to read." Is that seriously the best I can come up with? Such a pathetic explanation.

"What does that have to do with anything?" Ryuga asked. "Not everyone will like the same kind of genre, so someone will always be bound to criticize or judge someone else."

He does have a point… "So… What is the genre of the story you're reading right now?"

Ryuga looked at his phone. "I already told you, I don't feel comfortable telling you…"

Is it that embarrassing to tell others…? Kamiya didn't understand how someone could be so embarrassed to tell someone what they liked to read. Then again, I don't really tell others what I like, so I'm just being a hypocrite. She glanced at Ryuga's phone, then back to him. He looked like he was completely emersed in whatever he was reading. I wonder… would he tell me what he's reading if I told him what I like to read? Kamiya took a deep breath, mustering up the courage to tell Ryuga. "...Romance is my favorite genre to read…" Kamiya couldn't even look at Ryuga, that's how embarrassed she was.

"What?!"

Kamiya snapped her head up, only to see Ryuga looking at her with wide, curious eyes. "I… I like reading romance stories…" she repeated.

Ryuga just continued to look at her with wide eyes.

Kamiya blinked, confused by his expression. Is it that surprising that I like romance? She narrowed her eyes, looking deeply into Ryuga's eyes. There was a look in them she couldn't quite contemplate. No… He wasn't surprised, but… relieved?

"I…"

Kamiya offered Ryuga a smile, trying to make him feel more comfortable.

Ryuga narrowed his eyes. "I like to read about romance too…"

Kamiya was no longer forcing herself to smile; it was genuine. "Why do you like to read romance stories?"

Ryuga looked surprised, as if he didn't expect Kamiya to respond that way.

Kamiya chuckled. "It's fine. It doesn't bother me that you like romance."

Ryuga looked at the desk in deep thought. "I just feel…satisfied…"

Satisfied? Kamiya wasn't expecting that kind of response. "So, do you feel satisfied by what happens to certain characters, or with how the plot progresses, and eventually concludes?"

"Both of those satisfy me, but I just get this feeling when I read romance stories…" Ryuga paused, as if he was trying to think of the correct thing to say. "Like… I just… Agh… Dammit…"

"You feel the same way the character you can identify with does, and if you like their conclusion in the story, you feel satisfied," Kamiya finished for Ryuga. "Is that what you're trying to say?"

Ryuga looked at Kamiya, surprised. "Yes, but there's something else I feel… I just don't know how to explain it…" He looked away from her nervously. "Do you… feel the same way?" He snuck a glance at her, causing her to look away from him.

Kamiya didn't know why she was feeling so nervous being asked such a question. She assumed it was because she never talked to anyone about personal (or even surface-level) topics. He told me something he was uncomfortable with, so I have no choice but to return the favor. "Yes, I do. Reading about romance makes me feel like… like I can actually love someone."

"Do you even understand what it means to love someone like that?" Ryuga asked.

Kamiya faced him. "It's when you meet someone and you can instantly tell that they're the one for you. It's like living happily ever after." She smiled longingly.

Ryuga narrowed his eyes. "You don't actually believe that, do you?"

"Umm… Well…" Kamiya didn't know if she believed in that. That's what fairytales always portrayed love as.

"It's absurd," Ryuga continued. "Letting destiny or a lucky draw decide who you end up with. And everyone here is so delusional to see the flaw in such a method."

"What do you mean 'everyone here'?" Kamiya asked.

"Oh… I was referring to the pieces of paper we're given during the Cultural Festival that supposedly pairs two people together."

"Why do you think everyone's delusional about love?"

"Didn't I just explain it to you? It's absurd and unrealistic. People expect their knight in shining armor to swoop them off their feet to take them to their castle so they can live happily ever after. And they don't even know each other! Princesses must be completely fine with marrying a complete stranger just as long as they are strong and handsome." Ryuga looked away from Kamiya and glared at the table. "The same goes for that stupid piece of paper. People think it pairs them together, but it doesn't work like that. A relationship starts from interest or attraction, and develops over time."

Kamiya couldn't bear to look Ryuga in the eye. Everything he just said was what she wanted a few weeks ago; what she still wanted. She never wanted to approach anyone. She just expected her prince to approach her, swoop her off her feet, and live happily ever after. That's just a fairy tale though. This is reality.

"I apologize if I was too harsh. I didn't mean to direct my frustration at you," Ryuga said, grabbing Kamiya's attention.

"It's fine. But, if I may ask, what makes that fairytale perspective of romance so frustrating for you?"

"I just… don't agree with it."

Kamiya looked away from Ryuga. "Do you… think it's bad to want that kind of relationship?"

"In my opinion, yes."

Kamiya frowned. She had a feeling that would be his answer. "Do you think that way because you feel like you can't have that kind of relationship?"

Ryuga widened his eyes, surprising Kamiya.

"W-What?! Did I say something wrong?!"

"I understand now," Ryuga said.

"Understand what?"

"What I feel when I read romance stories. It's both happiness and despair. I enjoy the fact that I can live out my own fantasy through what I'm reading, imagining myself going through similar situations with someone else, but I feel sad and alone in the end because I know that it can never happen."

Kamiya couldn't help but feel sympathy for him. She felt the exact same way he did, sad and alone. She remembered her conversation with Shikimori during the Cultural Festival, where Shikimori confronted her about her hidden feelings for Izumi. She did eventually learn to let her feelings go, but she still felt that loneliness. "It hurts, doesn't it?" she asked. "That feeling of loneliness."

Ryuga looked away from Kamiya, but she could see the loneliness in his eyes.

"You don't want to be lonely, do you?"

"It's better for everyone if I am," Ryuga said sadly.

"That's not true," Kamiya reassured him. "Nobody deserves to be lonely."

"I do, because I'll just end up hurting other people if I develop any kind of relationship with them."

Kamiya felt her throat welling up. She looked away from Ryuga, not wanting him to see her almost about to cry. She bawled her left hand into a fist. "Why? Why do you think so negatively?"

Ryuga narrowed his eyes, probably trying to think of an answer. "You agree that I see everything from a negative perspective, right?"

"Uh…" Kamiya faltered. She knew her answer, but she didn't want to offend him.

"It's okay if you agree. I've already realized and accepted that flaw about myself, so there's no point in lying to make me feel better."

What happened to make him so negative? "...Yes, I do…"

Ryuga slowly looked at Kamiya. "That is why I deserve to be alone. I'm too negative about everything to be in any kind of healthy relationship. I would just make everyone question everything about themselves."

"Is that why you're not friends with anyone?" Kamiya asked.

Ryuga looked away from Kamiya and closed his eyes.

Kamiya reached her right hand out, but stopped herself. She knew that she couldn't comfort Ryuga-san with just words. Would it be appropriate to… Kamiya fully extended her arm and placed it on Ryuga's shoulder.

Suddenly, at the same time, he flinched, looked at her with terrified eyes, and jumped back, crashing into a bookshelf behind him, knocking it down.

"Ryuga-san!" Kamiya got out of her seat and ran to him. She offered him a hand to help him up.

He widened his eyes when he saw her hand, and crawled back like a scared dog. "Please don't touch me!"

Kamiya was shocked. She never expected someone to react to being touched that way. She lowered her hand. "I'm sorry. Did I hurt you?"

Ryuga took a couple of deep breaths, then looked up at Kamiya while holding onto his right wrist. "No, you didn't hurt me… I just… don't like it when others touch me, or when I touch others. It makes me uncomfortable."

So that's why he reacted the way he did. "I'm sorry. I wasn't aware of that." How can I even comfort someone like him? He will always see my words in a negative way, and physical touch makes him uncomfortable. Is he okay with being alone for the rest of his life?

Ryuga got to his feet and lifted up the bookshelf. Kamiya pulled the bookshelf back while he pushed, and they managed to get it standing again.

Ryuga started picking up books, but suddenly stopped, seeming to notice that Kamiya was staring at him. His gaze drifted down to the floor. "Why don't you just stop staring at me and say it."

Kamiya was confused. What did she want to tell him?

Ryuga glared at Kamiya. "You think I'm a nuisance, just like everyone else, don't you?"

Kamiya tried not to let her sympathy show, knowing that it would only upset him more. "Ryuga-san, you are not a nuisance," she said softly.

He deepened his glare, making his eyes shine as bright as blood. "Stop being sympa—"

"I'm not being sympathetic," Kamiya interrupted. "To me…" She smiled. "You truly are a good person."

"That's just a subjective opinion. Everyone else thinks—"

Kamiya cut him off again. "It doesn't matter what everyone else thinks. All that matters is what you think. Do you think you're a nuisance?"

Ryuga dropped his gaze. "I don't want to, but I overthink everything in a negative way, so I can't help but think that people think the worst of me."

"So if you didn't think about anyone else's opinion, would you still think of yourself as a nuisance?"

"I…don't think so… But I don't think I'm obligated to consider myself a good person, either."

Kamiya blinked in confusion. "Why not?"

"I've never placed much value in those sorts of labels. The way I see it, good is merely a word applied to people who are good for you. It's purely subjective. Any way you try to look at it, labeling people dehumanizes them." Ryuga's gaze returned to Kamiya. "So I don't think anyone is obligated to label someone as good or bad."

"So I shouldn't label anyone as good or bad?" Kamiya asked.

Ryuga shook his head. "No, you should try to understand every perspective about a person before judging them. But giving your honest opinion doesn't necessarily make you a bad person."

"So, am I a bad person, to think of you as a good person when everyone else thinks differently?"

"No. Why do you even think I'm a good person?"

Kamiya smiled. "You were polite and honest. You approached me without any hesitation or care of who I was. And you make me feel comfortable."

Ryuga scrunched his eyebrows together. "So I'm only a good person for you. I'm not good in general."

Kamiya held a hand out. "No, that's not what I meant. I believe you are a good person, and not because it could benefit me. That would make me a hypocrite anyway, since I would be seen as a bad person by you."

Ryuga's eyebrows relaxed. "Why are you helping me with these books right now?"

Kamiya was a little confused by the sudden change of topic. "Huh?"

"Are you doing it out of obligation, the need to feel better about yourself, or because you want to?"

Is he testing me? "I'm doing it because I want to help you."

Ryuga continued to study her.

Kamiya frowned. "Although, I'm also helping you because I think it's the right thing to do, and because I feel obligated to for being the cause of this mess…"

Ryuga raised his eyebrows, looking surprised.

Kamiya looked away from him. "You must think I'm a bad person, don't you?"

"First of all, you are human, just like me and everyone else in this world. Although I am greatly ashamed of this, we are all naturally drawn to our selfish desires. But, from what I've seen from you, you are honest and kind."

Kamiya looked at Ryuga, surprised to hear him say that. She thought he would think of her as a bad person for being selfish, considering how negative he was about everything.

"Still, I don't think it's an appropriate time to judge you as good or bad," Ryuga said. "I still barely know you, so I can't give you an answer right now."

Kamiya could only nod. She didn't know why she was disappointed with his answer. Do I really want to be seen as a good person to him that badly? Will we even talk to each other after today? Kamiya highly doubted it. She was constantly in a crowded vicinity, so she didn't think she would get much time to talk with Ryuga. She made a fist and placed it on her heart. I hope we do…

Ryuga put the last book away. "Thank you for helping me."

"Oh, you're welcome."

He looked at Kamiya. "Why didn't you do anything at the start of class today?"

Kamiya tried to remember what he was talking about, then remembered the incident before class started that morning. "I…"

"Please give me an honest answer," Ryuga said. "I just want to understand why you bothered to help me now and didn't do anything back then when you were clearly aware of the situation."

Kamiya looked at the floor, too ashamed to look at Ryuga. "I… I just didn't want to make myself the center of attention…" She was afraid to look at him now, fearing that he would hate her for how passive and selfish she was.

"That's understandable."

Kamiya looked at Ryuga, surprised by his response.

"I don't like drawing attention to myself either. That's probably why I'm so passive and just stand by and don't bother to do anything when I know I can do something to help." Ryuga clenched his right hand into a fist and glared at it. "I'm ashamed of myself for it…" He continued to glare at his fist.

Kamiya wanted to say something to comfort him, but she didn't know what to say that wouldn't upset him even more. "...Ryuga-san?"

He looked at her.

"Do you think there's good in you?"

"Like, do I have qualities that make me a good person?" he asked.

"Sorry!" Kamiya panicked, scared that she might've said the wrong thing. "I didn't mean to label you as a good or bad person!"

"No, I understand… And no, I don't think I'm good in any way…"

Kamiya looked at Ryuga sadly, wishing there was some way she could make him feel better, but she couldn't think of anything.

There was a long moment of silence, until it was broken by the sliding door opening.

"Kamiya-san! You in here?" It was Shikimori.

"I'm back here!" Kamiya said, raising her voice so Shikimori could hear her.

Shikimori approached them. "There you are! Are you almost done?"

Kamiya looked at the clock, which read 4:40 PM. "We have about twenty minutes left."

Shikimori pouted. "Can't you just leave early? It's not like you're doing anything."

Kamiya looked back to Ryuga, then Shikimori. She didn't know what she should do. She knew it wouldn't be that big of a deal if she left Ryuga to finish library duty, but she didn't want to be seen as a bad person by him. On the other hand, she wanted to help Shikimori, but she didn't want to abandon her library duties. So this is what Ryuga-san meant. No matter what decision you make, someone will always label you as a bad person because you aren't good for them.

"Kamiya-san," Ryuga said.

Kamiya flinched, realizing that that was the first time he addressed her by name. She looked at him.

"Make the decision you think is right. Leave your personal feelings out of it."

"Wouldn't that still be a subjective decision?"

"All right, make the decision that will benefit the larger sum. The few you don't help will be disappointed, yes, but that's because they refuse to see the bigger picture. Again, everything is about perspective."

Is he talking about himself? Will he be disappointed if I leave him to help Shikimori-san? Kamiya remembered all of the times Ryuga told her to be herself and to not put up a facade around others. All right, Ryuga-san, I'll make the decision I think is right. Kamiya looked at Shikimori. "I'll help you, Shikimori-san."

"All right!" Shikimori cheered.

Kamiya looked back to Ryuga, who merely nodded. Is he… accepting my decision? "Ryuga-san, I know this is selfish of me, but… I'll try to be a good person for you." She bowed, then turned around and left the library with Shikimori.

"So, what did you need my help with?" Kamiya asked as she and Shikimori walked out of the library.

Shikimori smiled innocently. "Oh, nothing really. Neko and I just got bored of playing basketball, so I came looking for you."

"Do you want me to play with you guys?"

"It's fine. We're done now. Sorry for making you leave early."

Kamiya smiled. "It's fine…"

Shikimori looked at her seriously. "Who was in there with you?"

"Oh, Ryuga-san. He's in my class."

"Are you guys friends?"

Kamiya hesitated to respond. She thought of Ryuga as a friend, but she knew that he didn't feel the same way. "No…"

"It's okay to be honest." Shikimori offered Kamiya a warm smile.

Kamiya looked at the ground. "I think we're friends…" Saying those words made her smile.

"Who's your friend?"

Kamiya shot her head up and saw Nekozaki standing in the middle of the hallway.

"Umm… It's…" Kamiya started to panic. She didn't want everyone to interfere with a friendship she just started.

"This guy in her class," Shikimori answered for Kamiya. "Ryuga-san. They had library duty today."

"That sounds boring," Nekozaki said.

"Well, I didn't think it was boring," Kamiya said.

Nekozaki looked surprised, then smirked.

"What?"

Nekozaki held her smirk. "It's nothing…"

"Anyway, let's leave." Kamiya walked to the entrance of the school.

"Hey! Wait up, Kamiya-san!" Nekozaki shouted, running after her with Shikimori.

"See ya guys tomorrow!" Shikimori said, facing Kamiya and Nekozaki. She turned around to leave, but quickly stopped herself. She turned back around and grabbed Kamiya by the arm, pulling the bluenette towards her. "We'll talk more tomorrow."

Kamiya's entire body tensed, but she quickly composed herself. She tried not to glare at Shikimori as said girl walked away from her.

"Hey, you good, Kamiya-san?" Nekozaki asked, sounding concerned.

Kamiya turned around to face her and smiled. "Yeah, I'm fine… Let's catch the train before we miss it."

Nekozaki widened her eyes. "Crap! I forgot about the time!" She grabbed Kamiya's wrist and started running, laughing alongside Kamiya.

To be continued

AN: And that's chapter 1. Yes, I decided to create an OC for this story. When I first watched the anime, I thought Kamiya and Nekozaki could develop a relationship at some point, but decided to create my own somewhat tragic character because I love those kinds of characters. Sorry, I just like depressing stories, haha.

If you enjoyed this chapter and my OC, I'm very glad. Keep looking forward to more chapters and very slow character development. Again, I would greatly appreciate your critiques, reviews, and advice to improve the story.

Also, my deepest apologies if I didn't show the proper respect or etiquette in my writing, mostly by the way characters address each other. If some of you are offended, again, my sincerest apologies, and I hope you guys can advise me on proper Japanese mannerisms and etiquette.

Catch you all in the next chapter!
