"What did you say the next event was?" I asked a little nervous as he stood back up.

"You hadn't heard?" Vector stated, "All experiments that have projectile style abilities will be aiming at targets. The more targets hit; the more points you gain. It's like that human sport… 'Archery' I believed the name is?"

"Oh... Cool," I try to sound nonchalant as my eyes widened, "When will this event start?"

"It should start in about less than an hour," he explained. "I hope you do well and put on a good show."

He walked off and I gulped nervously; I ran as fast as I could down the hall.

"No, no, no, no! This can't be happening!" I muttered as I find the elevator and hopped in.

I paced as I'm panicking, "I'm horrible when it comes to shooting events! Oh, what am I going to do!? There's no way I can get myself ready for this!"

I clenched my paws, "I don't even know how to activate my powers. Oh, what am I going to do?"

The elevator stopped, opened its door and I walked through feigning calmness.

"Maybe… Maybe I can find someone to help, but who?" I muttered.

"The Next Event Will Begin in 40 minutes. All experiments please meet in the main hall," the announcement echoed.

"Got to hurry!" I muttered as I went looked around the area.

My eyes settled on someone, and I smiled widely, "Yes, that's it."

I walked over and called, "Stitch!"

The little blue experiment turned and waved over. I ran over to him and then pulled him aside.

"So…Stitch, I was wondering if you can help me with some target practicing?" I asked.

"Oh, Stitch help!" Stitch cheered and then dragged my arm to a training room.

Stitch turned on the system and the vacant room sprang to life; targets sprang in all different spots in the room. He looked at my direction and asked, "Gaba ability will you use?"

"Well… um…I," I scratched my chin as I tried to think. 'Good question… What kinds of projectiles do I use?'

I walked over to a monitor and became typing while Stitch questioned. "Gaba youga doing?"

"Since I don't remember what abilities I have," I confessed, "I was hoping Dr. Vodra would have a copy of documents listing them."

I grumbled as I typed away, "Come on… Come on… Come on… Where is it?"

I stopped as I found a document and opened. "Okay let's see this one."

I skimmed read it, "Experiment 628…yayayaya… Can shoot lasers from eyes… um… tck tck tck… fire energy orbs… yayayaya… useless…useless… My god why not just write a small list of what I can do; it would be easier than reading this…. Generate plasma fields and grenades… How long is this report?"

"The Next Event Will Begin in 25 minutes. All experiments please meet in the main hall," the announcement echoed.

"Oh geez, I literally don't have the time to read this. I'm just going to have to try energy orbs and plasma grenades," I muttered.

I walked away from the monitor and faced the targets.

"Okay… Let's try this," I mumbled as I threw my paws into the air. "Energy orb!"

Stitch waited for a couple of seconds before he walked up to where I was. "Nothing happened."

"Energy orb!"

"Energy orb!"

"Come on and work!" I groaned as I half clenched my fingers.

"Naga happened still."

"I know!" I seethed and Stitch stepped back.

Stitch knew there was a hint of annoyance behind my eyes and distant himself more away from the area. I sighed and massaged my head, "I'm sorry Stitch. I shouldn't have lashed at you like that."

"It's okie-taka," Stitch smiled.

He walked up once more, and I hugged him. "I'm really, really sorry."

We broke the hug and Stitch patted my shoulder, "Youga got this."

I halfheartedly laugh and faced the targets once more.

'Come on Max. Focus on the targets.'

I released some air and raised my paws up again; carefully lined up with a target. At Stitch's signal, I tried to fire an orb. However, nothing happened, and I shook myself once more. I turned to Stitch and nodded, he returned. I faced the target and resumed my position and waited for the signal. "Go!"

I growled and I tried to fire an energy orb, but it exploded in my paw, and I was sent flying backwards. "AHHHH!"

"Not so hard," Stitch said as I got back onto my feet. "Gotcha bro."

I walked back up to the line and extended my paw out; my paw slightly trembled and I grabbed it with my free paw.

"Not so hard," I repeated as I aimed my paw.

Stitch noticed something he hadn't seen with many other experiments… He noted that Max trembled, but there was something more to it. His eyes widened as his mind started to analyze the situation.

"Oh… Meega see." Stitch mumbled, "Max isa nervous… Uncomfortable with his abilities."

"He need help," he added and walked over.

I lowered my paw and turned around, "I-I can't do it."

Stitch placed both his paws on my shoulders, "Youga overthinking. Youga take slow breaths, focus on target and block everything else. Youga can do it."

He turned my body around, stood behind and lifted one of my paws up; Stitch showed the proper way to aim. Stitch made sure my body was in a decent position and relaxed. He walked back and spoke.

"Now focus. Look target. Focus where youga orb go."

"Right Stitch," I nodded and glared at the target.

'If I miss this shot…If I miss this shot, I could be reformatted.'

My dread and fear flooded my sense, making me lose concentration and I shook my head.

I gulped and Stitch cheered, "Youga got this!"

"Right," I remarked. "I can do it."

I smirked, doing my best to focus on the task at hand. I couldn't ignore the voices in my head fully, but my doubt lessened more and more.

I felt aware of the energy running through my body. The warmth being collected at the center of my paws; I held my breath while my heart raced loudly. It made thinking and focusing almost difficult… almost.

I found myself again and nodded as I focused on the target.

'Don't overthink. Relax. No need to worry and breathe.'

I released my breath and could feel my body become lighter.

"Butifa. Now imagine youga orb hit target. Naga doubt youga." Stitch remarked.

I blinked again and I waited for the signal.

"Now… Fire!" Stitch shouted.

I released a small electrical orb and I watched it hit the target dead center.

"Yay Max!" Stitch cheered.

I glanced at it and smiled happily at the fact I hit the target. "Oh my god. I did it. I did it! Look!"

"Nice job Max," Stitch said and positioned another target. "Again."

I took a deep breath to center myself, lifted my paw and felt the energy gathered in my paw. I fired the orb and I hit the target dead center.

"Ha! Yes, I did it again!" I said as I looked at Stitch as he ran up and hugged tightly.

"Okay… Now time for -" I started but the intercom interjected.

"The Next Event Will Begin in 10 minutes. All experiments please meet in the main hall," the announcement echoed.

"10 minutes?!" I repeated. "B-but I only practiced on one of my abilities…"

"Stitch how far are we from the main hall?" I asked.

"We need go now to make event," he answered and walked over to the hub.

"Wait Stitch please," I followed him, "Can I at least train some more?"

"Naga time," he replied as he pushed a button and I watched as the lively room; returned to a vacant space.

We left and headed to the elevator. We exited the elevator and entered the main floor; it started to become more and more packed as more experiments filled the main room.

"Welcome to the next event! All experiments with projectile abilities on one side and experiments who don't have projectile abilities to the other," the announcement echoed.

I turned to Stitch, and he nodded as we parted ways. I noted the many types of experiments with projectile abilities and prayed they would be far ahead of myself.

"The first Experiment to show off their marksman skill is…" The announcer trailed off.

"Don't be me… Don't be me… Don't be me…" I prayed with my eyes closed.

"Congrats to experiment 628!" the announcer shouted, and everyone cheered.

I opened and gulped as I walked in front of the group. Before I could ever say a thing; I was teleported in the space.

"Now Experiment 628 please demonstrate one of your projectile abilities!" the announcer said as bullseye targets appeared around the area.

I looked around, my nerves building up and my confidence declining. Then I saw Stitch with a thumbs up while he was with Angel. 'You can do this!'

I faced the targets on the over side of the area and gulped. I quickly looked and I raised my paw as energy formed in the center of it. I threw the orb straight through a bullseye; then I ran through the tree and jumped over them and threw another orb over a target high above. I swung through the trees and fired my orb into another target.

Within minutes, I had found the targets, and all were bullseye. I smiled happily and the announcer started, "What an amazing start! Experiment 628 sure looked like a natural given the short time he has been active. Let's see his score…"

Everyone waited in silence as I clenched my paw.

"80 out of 100! Not too bad!" the announcer finished.

"So… I did it?" I asked as the crowd started cheering.

"I did it! I did it! I can't believe it! Do you all see that!" I screamed as I ran around.

In my excitement, I was unaware of what was happening… My arms started to glow as if I had the sun on them; they were encased in electricity. When I faced The Grand Councilwoman, I raised my arms up and a huge ball of electricity fired from my arms. The ball headed straight for The Grand Councilwoman; until it collided with the barrier and exploded. All the cheering stopped as a silence swept through the crowd.

"Oh no…" I covered my mouth.

I was teleported out and when I landed; I was face-to-face with many bodyguards.

"Now, let's not be hasty," a voice broke through, and I growled, "Vektor."

"As it stands to reason," Vektor spoke, "no one was injured. No damage happened on the ship. SO, there is no reason for this."

The bodyguard walked up to Vektor, "That creature tried to attack a Grand Council member.…and by the orders given to me-"

"You're wrong," Vektor remarked, "Experiment 628 was just demonstrating another ability he has which is a projectile one. From what I saw…He was eager to show it off to the Grand Councilwoman as a way of appreciation. It seems to have worked a little too well."

"Am I right 628?" he asked, and I nodded in agreement begrudgingly. "See…Since there was no harm done to the Council member; there is no need for such harsh treatment."

"But Dr. Vektor Vodra I-" The Grand Councilwoman interrupted the guard, "That's enough. 628 hasn't done anything…this time. Leave him be."

The bodyguard bowed and walked over back to his team while she continued.

"As for you Dr. Vodra… if you are quite right and this was in good favor… Then there is no need for any punishment. However, if there is something amiss here and you are hiding it; and that thing which could be detrimental… you will lose more than your license. Is that clear?"

"Affirmative," Vektor stated as he bowed.

The group of bodyguards and The Grand Councilwoman left. Dr. Vodra stood firm and then looked over his shoulder towards me. He walked off the opposite direction of the prior party. I clenched my fist and while the assessment resumed; I followed Vodra's direction.

I followed his scent down through the ship and then in a hallway; there he stood as he faced me.

"So… You've come?" he asked.
