With a sigh, Michael Grey (totally random name) gradually woke from his sleep, then started upright, staring at his hands in shock. They were tiny! He was tiny! What the HELL had happened.
Last he knew, he had been an ordinary twenty-year-old weeb. Now he was… he checked his memories. He was FIVE! Worse, he recalled a news story on last night about a group know as the Slaughterhouse Nine. He was in WORM!
In short, he was fucked. Even if he got his hands on a power, it would be shit. Worse, no matter how hard he tried, he couldn't enhance things far enough to take care of Scion, regardless of the number of charges he used! And he was a CHILD!
Okay, let's see. Ten years until Taylor triggers? Thereabouts? That would give hum something like fifteen… thousand… charges.
Charges?
He closed his eyes. There, floating in front of him in the dark, were three blueish balls. Charges. HE HAD POWERS!
Quick as he could, he did a run-down on them. Could enhance any material, no limit. High grade starts, higher grade effects. Could enhance any item, same idea. Could only enhance things that counted as 'his' in a deep way. Beloved pets, yes. Slaves or family? No, they were their own people. Gifts given by strangers? Yup. As long as no-one had a better claim on it than him, and it had minimal will, he could enhance it. AND he was immune from the Simurgh and Contessa. That was it. He would get, for now, three charges a day, and the degree of the change was based off the charge's strength. Idea to powerful? Need more charges. Thankfully, he could bank up to a week's charges, but that was it. So, basically he was Dauntless, but better.
A grin started to grow on his face. He was a better Dauntless, he had rich, indulgent parents, and he had more than TEN YEARS before things got real. He could handle this!
(Empowerment is based on Tier (up to ten, being one below Scion's tier, but two or three above the Triumvirate) or added effect. If a Tier One charge was worth one point, each level thereafter is ten time the previous. Boosting number of charges costs 100 charges for the first, then 250, then 500, 1000, 2500, and so on. Moreover, an item is easier to empower if it the change is in line with the initial purpose of the item.
His stuff will be in five categories: Throw-away (tests items, one-shots, things he did for fun, etc.); everyday use (his clothes, his toothbrush, and so on. These won't be tier ten before he is… twenty, maybe?); active duty (his cape gear, weapons, cars, dogs, bodyguard's gear, parents' protective gear, etc.); targeted (tools made for specific situations); and SCION-class (both trump cards he is meticulously preparing, and stuff to kill the big bad).
In SCION-class, he doesn't just enhance something to make it work. He gets the best materials available, to make the best components. Enhances the materials before the creation process, enhances the components to spec after they are made, builds the device, then enhances IT, too. For example, using a high-quality Tinker mannequin, an ancient and legendary fox mask from Japan, and nine made to order fake fox tails, he makes himself a subservient, tier ten-plus, Kyuubi. But, to do so, he refines and empowers the mask with Kyuubi powers, has the mannequin built out of tier ten materials, then enhanced until it is tier ten in EVERY power category, and empowers EACH and EVERY HAIR of the fox tails to tier ten. Moreover, on each tail, 1/21 of the hairs are granted one of each of the intended Kyuubi powers (the ones that the tail was NOT supposed to support), 4/21 of the hairs were granted basic enhancement powers (Speed, Cunning, Regeneration, and Strength, in that order), and the remaining NINE would be enhanced with that tail's specialty power.
Some ideas for the base of various targeted items:
To kill Leviathan: A trident claimed to be used by Poseidon to kill a giant sea monster.
To pop Grey Boy bubbles: What is believed to be the origin of the 'Kronos' Scythe' myth.
To kill/ depower Jack Slash: The first pair of shears or scissors used to cut off someone's tv service.
