"Calibration system started, Weapon System 01" Orion stated as the RRA's pauldron opened up to reveal rows of rockets and firing off into the crowd of grimm and devastating both the grimm and the vegetation surrounding them
"Weapon System 01 Check, Weapon System 02" Orion continued as Jaune both felt and saw on the diagram that energy was being diverted to his gauntlet, Curious, he pointed his hand at a Beowolf that survived the explosion only for a beam of light to evaporate a portion of it's stomach and turning it into dust anyways
"Weapon System 02 Check, Core efficiency" Jaune was confused until he felt his Cores ramping up and saw the excessive energy that was being charged into the batteries, Luckily, Any grimm that would have been there are now dead thanks to the two weapon system test. Unluckily, he was still in the Hunter as the electricity overflowed from the battery and started to conduct through the plates
"Core Efficiency Rating: S" Orion stated after a few agonizing moments, with the cores finally regulated and power output slowly decreasing, The electric current was finally cut off, Jaune wasn't sure if his battery had survive the encounter but he hoped that it did. He poured a large portion of the funding into the batteries of the RRA
"Automatic Calibration System completed. Manual Calibration System required." Orion reported before the entire RRA system simply shut off and allowed Jaune to step out into the open field where he was surrounded by his team and friends
"nonononononono YES" Ruby cheered when the generator came out with both cores offline and looking a little scratched up than previously but not entirely fried as she quickly insert a large electric dust crystal into the generator before slotting the entire thing back into the RRA
"Jaune are you alright? hurt anywhere?" Pyrrha asked worriedly as she checked Jaune over, He shook his head as he walked closer to his RRA, His brows knit together as he observe the Armor in front of him. There were no obvious damage but he recalled seeing something through the flash of electricity that caught his interest
"Power it on Ruby." Jaune said out loud as he shifted his feet, Ruby's head popped out from the back of the RRA as she stared at him in confusion but after seeing the expression on Jaune's face, she simply returned to the cores and inserted the pair into the generator and stepped away while the Armor powered on. The rest of Team RWBY and JNPR looking on as they waited for Jaune to do something
"Orion, Shadow Mode" Jaune tested and he saw the lights of the helmet temporarily shut off before a dark purple replaced them and mimicked Jaune's stance, The Armor rose it's hand when Jaune did, It punched when Jaune punched. whatever Jaune did it mimicked
"Woah, Your Armor has Shadow too?" Yang asked as she looked back at her own armor and beckoned it forward, The RRA made it's way over before kneeling in front of Yang. Head tilted as if it was questioning what it's owner was doing
"Zhan, Shadow Mode" Yang ordered excitedly and her armor nodded, The golden lights also being replaced by dark purple as the Hunter rose to it's feet to mimic Yang's stance while she tested out her combo's, giggling gleefully while she watched her RRA follow her lightning fast strikes with ease
Jab jab cross hook... damn yang is fast Jaune silently observed while Yang continued to test out her features, He turned back to his RRA which stared back silently. Awaiting orders despite still being in Shadow mode
"Orion, Stand Sentry" Jaune ordered as the Armor nodded before the light returned to the natural bluish-white before going to stand guard with the others, Yang still showing of her combos while Jaune thought of how he could use this

Jaune grit his teeth as he endured another punch, he tried to throw one of his own but his opponent simply duck under the strike and retaliated with an hook into the stomach forcing him back into his corner. Blows rained down onto his defense as he waited for his opportunity and that's when he saw the overextension that would surely lead to his opponent's downfall. He ducked under the jab as he swung with everything he got only for his opponent to brush his punch to the side and retaliate with a sharp hook into the nose
"That would have gotten anyone but me Jaune, Good try but I don't think being a counter-boxer suit you" Yang laughed as she bounced on her feet, Her golden hair bobbing along as she gave him a wild grin, Yang had been teaching him the basics of boxing and trying to figure out a style ever since they found Shadow mode for Orion as Jaune groaned and sat on his ass again. Holding a small piece of ice dust to his face, allowing the cool sensation to dull the pain as his adrenaline slowly start to bleed out
"I don't think it's the problem of the style, More like you are too good at boxing" Jaune grumbled, His teacher flipped her hair in such a flamboyant way with a huff as she stood, Her hands resting on her hips as she smiled again
"More like you are getting BOXed in by me. Seriously though, Don't let me or anyone box you into a corner. That for a beginner almost always mean a quick KO" Yang said seriously while she stretched. Most likely the little spar that they just had was nothing but warm up for an experienced boxer like her. Jaune groaned as he pushed himself to his feet
"And you are giving away your intention too much, The moment I left a gap in my defense your eyes locked onto it and never left it. Hide your intentions and hide it well" Yang advised as she gestured for Jaune to try again, Her hands staying laxed and by her side while Jaune shifted into the stance he had been taught.
Feet back, dominant hand forward, lower center of gravity, quick on your feet Jaune went through his mental checklist as he looked at Yang again who gave him another smile that made his heart flutter. It wasn't any of that sappy kind as if he was in love. No, it was just that he has seen that smile so many time before getting a jab in the nose that he was certain his heart is going to give out due to fear
"I don't think I can go another round with you Yang. I know you said my stamina is crazy but seriously 20 rounds with almost no time to rest. I think my body is about to give" Jaune admitted as his teacher's smile only grew wider and wilder
"Well, we can stop here but I think you can learn something from boxing. It's not suited for you but it's would be nice to see someone learn from me" Yang said earnestly as Jaune collapsed to the ground, His arms were about to give out and his body felt like it had been pummeled with trucks all day, which given Yang's strength. Isn't far from the truth
"Maybe he could try another time?" A new voice interrupted the newly started match as both boxer, New and Old. Turned to the voice and Jaune's expression lit up in relief. His savior was finally here and her name was Pyrrha
"Hey Pyrrha" Jaune greeted tiredly from the floor, Not even bothering to wave as his entire arm protested at just the idea of the motion. Yang laughed to herself as she looked upon her newly established pupil with pride and turned to Pyrrha
"So. What are you here for Pyrrha?" Yang asked as she slumped onto a chair, She may have been confident and experience but boxing and guarding for two straight hours was an incredible workout for her too.
"Class is starting in about an hour, I thought it be good to inform you two since you've been in here since-" she glanced down at her watch "-nine this morning and haven't come for breakfast or lunch."
"Right." Jaune groaned as he pushed himself up from the ground, His legs still shaky from the intense training session as he pushed some of the hair in his face out of the way before turning to Pyrrha
"We'll freshen up and then meet you at the lunch room in a few, Can you get me some food from cafe before it closes?" Jaune asked as Pyrrha smiled and pushed herself off the doorway before responding, "Sure Jaune, I'll get some food for you. And you as well Yang"
"Great you are the best Pyrrha/Thanks Pyrrha" The two blondes thanked the Mistral champion before going their separate ways
-(After a few moments)-
"Greetings, Pilot-in-training. I am Ozpin, The headmaster of this establishment and your Reinforced Reactor Armor Professor" Ozpin started his lecture as many of the freshman stared intensely at the professor with the only exceptions being Ruby and Jaune, along with a few that has already learnt and built their own RRAs.
"Now, This lecture's topics is going to be boring to what I assume is the majority of you. But I assure you it is still good to brush up on the basic concepts." The professor stopped for a few second to let his gaze sweep over the room before continuing, "Now. Can someone in this room please list the three main types of RRAs currently listed"
No one raised their hand or volunteered as Ozpin scanned the room, Jaune looked around as subtly as he could and saw Ruby was doing the same yet no one rose their hand. Everyone was waiting for someone else to answer and Ozpin picked up onto this fact
"Students." His voice boomed through the room and caught the attention of everybody there. He already had everyone's attention but this reinforced it as he sat down onto his chair
"You are future Pilots, Those who command Hunters into combat to save the ones who can not save themselves. if you hesitate on answering such an simple question and wait for someone else to do it. What will you do on the field?" Ozpin asked, His tone neither accusing the class nor was it gentle in laying down the harsh fact but it still made many advert their eyes in guilt. Seeing this Ozpin continued
"Will you leave the innocent to die because you were waiting for someone else to leap into action?" The question whipped everyone into frenzy as many shouted their disagreement and answers bringing a smile to Ozpin's face before he slammed his cane down onto the concrete and creating an loud bang. One that instantly silenced the crowd
"Good. You are the future of Remnant and people depend on you to save them. Now, the three main classes a RRA is classified as are Titan, Recon and Kinetic. today's homework will be just for those of you who haven't read up on the three class type to do so" Ozpin explained as a thin packet is handed out across the room, those who didn't need one simply passed it onwards while those who did took one
"Guess I have some reading to brush up on" Jaune muttered as he took a packet and placed it into his bag, His team also grabbing a packet before getting up to leave to their next class
(The Three Main Archetype of RRAs)
Titans: Majority of Titan-class Hunters are heavily-armored and heavily-armed. Favoring more offensive and defensive tactics rather than evasive ones. Hunters that falls into the Titan-class are much more bulky than the other two classes and owe much of their weight to the armor plates and defensive counter-measures built into the Armor against both Grimm and Rogue Hunters. Titan-class are more suited for larger groups of grimms because of it's ability to be the perfect damage dampener whilst also being able to deal damage back
Recons: Despite it's name, Recon-class Hunters are not focused on observation and reporting but rather dealing with another Hunter, Recon-class Hunters are slim yet heavily armored and built with thoughts of going up against an Human Hunter Opponents rather than the Grimm, Hunters that fall into the Recon-Class Hunters often carry more weapon systems and Hunter Countermeasures than the other classes which ironically helps with Grimms when utilized correctly. Which makes Recon a jack-of-all-trade class
Kinetics: Kinetic-class Hunters focus on evasion and outmaneuvering tactics, The opposite of Titan-class in both tactics and armor. Due to it's necessity, Kinetic-class Hunters are the least armored Hunters in favor of more ammunition and dust carriage although some Veteran hunter has abandon those as well to lighten their Hunter. Kinetic-class Hunters often lose out when dealing with ancient or hordes of Grimms but when it comes to small groups and one versus one. Kinetic-class Hunters excel due to it's high speeds and ability to outmaneuver their opponents
