Hey Yo! NerdRyuu here, and here's the seventh Chapter is here!
Last chapter was the first turning point on this fic, with Luna was pregnant with Lincoln's child. And also The Last Loud helped a woman and she asked them to rescue her daughter!
I didn't received any question this week, so let's go straight to the chapter!
Disclaimer: I do NOT own The Loud House
A week passed since Luna's shocking revelation. Things are complicated, Lincoln and Luna we're acting very… clingy. I don't think I can call them boyfriend and girlfriend, because Lori and our other older sisters, and well, the situation is very wrong already. And the grossest part, not the gross I like, but the real gross, is that I think that some of our older sisters are actually jealous of Luna!
The preparations for the baby started already, I built a crib for them! Well, actually I rebuilt Lily's crib, that we dismantled when she got too big for it.
I've been helping Lisa on her workshop. While she makes the project, I do the real hard work. I helped her on this secret project, she didn't wanted to anyone to know it was before it was ready, and not even me she told. Today, she gathering us again in the meeting room. She had put something on the center of the table, it was covered by a white sheet, so I couldn't say for sure what it was.
"I'm glad that you all could be present here for this meeting, I know that you all are very preoccupied with the child that's coming." I looked at Luna, she was sitting by Lincoln's side, they were holding hands. Luna just looked down, I'm not sure if it was shame, embarrassment or even joy.
"But I have some notices to share with you all." She cleared her throat. "My studies points that the radiation levels outside are lowering, and maybe, even be survivable outside." We shared some looks, finally we could go outside again? See the sun, feel the wind on our skin? This was awesome.
"Are you sure Lisa?" Lori asked, with a hint of hope in her voice.
"No, I'm not. One error of design on my part is that when we shut the bunker, we became completely unable to have any direct contact with the world above." She adjusted her glasses.
"So the world outside still can be deadly?" My twin asked.
"We're in a Schrodinger's cat state." She just said.
"Oh, there's cats outside? This, like, keeps getting better!" Leni said squirming with happiness. Lisa bit her lip, and the rest of us rolled our eyes.
"No Leni." Lisa spoke. "We're in a predicament that doesn't have any way to resolve. The only way to know if the land above is safe for living is by going outside. We won't know for sure unless that, did you understand?" Lisa asked. Leni nodded, but something on her face made me doubt that.
"What are the chances that it's safe or dangerous?" Lori asked.
"35 to 65." Lisa said. Lori sighed, hope fading away from her eyes.
"It's too risky." She looked down. "I can't risk the wellbeing of any of you." We sighed in defeat.
"Well, Lori, it's because of this that I, with the help of Lana here." Lisa pointed to me. "Created two protection suits, designed mainly to protect the wearer from the high levels of radiation." She pulled the sheet out the table, revealing that below it, there was a metal helmet.
We stood in silent and surprise. So that's what she's been working on, her secret project. "I propose." Lisa restarted. "For a scout duo, protected by the suit, venture outside and read the radiation levels on our surrounding area." Lori looked at the helmet, thinking.
"Are you sure these armors are secure?" She asked. Lisa nodded.
"The suits are made of a synthetic alloy of lead. It has a life support unit built in, generating oxygen direct from the suit, without the need to use the outside air. It is alto adjusting, being able to comfortably be dressed by anyone with more than 5.6 feet." Lisa said, listing the aspects of the suits.
"So any of us can use it. Well, Lily and you not, the rest can." I said. From all of us, just Lily and Lisa were under 5.6, and the tallest was Lincoln, that had a growth spurt and is now 5.11.
To be honest, we didn't changed much from five years ago, yeah, we grew, taller and the older girls also grew in other places. Lincoln didn't changed much, he shaves daily, so he doesn't have any beard or moustache or anything, a shame, he would look so manly. Ah, maybe one day.
"I propose that the strongest physically of us be the one who wears the suit." Lisa said, we all turned to Lynn, who, for once looked shy, looking down with a forced smile.
"…Ok… I think I don't have a choice anyway…" She said. "So… Who's going to partner with me?"
"I'll go." Lincoln said. Everyone looked at him. Luan laughed.
"The baby didn't even got born yet and the dad is already planning to buy cigarettes!" She said, before laughing. We looked at her incredulous. She dared to make that joke. She noticed our expressions. "Sorry, I'm joking."
"No…" Lincoln spoke. "I think she right… I…" Lynn got up in a jump and shouted.
"YES!" She went silent when she noticed what did. She cleared her throat and continued. "Lincoln is the strongest of us, well, after me, but he also has brains! I'm not as dumb as Leni…"
"Hey!" Leni spoke up offended.
"… But I'm not a genius either! Lincoln is the perfect balance of brains and brawls He has to come with me!" Lincoln looked surprised at Lynn. We couldn't remember the last time she complimented him like that, or any of us on that matter.
"…Okay…" Lori said slowly. "Lincoln?"
Lincoln looked at Luna, who just smiled and nodded. He sighed.
"Okay. I'll go." He said.
"Well." Lisa spoke up. "This ends our meeting. Lincoln, Lynn, may you come with me?"
The Slavers. What a rotten bunch. Pillagers, kidnappers, rapists, murderers, slavers. The lowest scum was what remained on earth and came together to make the most grotesque gang that ever existed.
They assault innocent, and the ones that don't kill, they enslave, and sell to other slavers. It became a huge chain of horrible people, trading innocent souls like Pokémon cards. What else they did to their slaves was unspeakable. For them, the slaves aren't considered people anymore.
The Last Loud harbored hate for them. They had encountered them in the past before, all of those times were unpleasant experiences.
Very unpleasant.
The woman said a group of 3 Slavers had kidnapped her 14 years old daughter and ran north. The Last Loud ordered her to stay on the building they made camp, and wait for their return. They headed north, hoping to find the group before they find another Slaver group, if they did, the chances to rescue the girl would fall through the ground.
Good that they had acquired the bike and another fire weapon. They planned to don't even ask questions. Find them, kill them, bring the girl to her mother. Maybe steal what they had on them before? Yeah, maybe a new gun and ammo is a good thing.
They didn't knew why exactly they wanted to rescue that girl, being in conflict was a fast lane to death, and the Slavers aren't a joke. Maybe they just wanted an excuse to kill some Slavers. Yeah, that must be it.
It must be it.
N/A: So yeah, this chapter we start the outside dwelling arc for the past time, and we were formally presented to the antagonists for the future time, the Slavers.
I don't have much to comment on this chapter, just that writing Leni is also a little hard, to make her feel ditzy and forgetful (or dumb) in a manner that it's believable and in character, I also face the same problem when writing Lisa and Lucy, making their dialogues feel natural but true to the character is hard for me, but I'm doing my best.
Also, in this chapter we had Lana narrate the past section. I'll try to make all of the Louds narrate at least once in this fic, but as I started above, I'm dreading the moment I have to write Leni, Lisa and Lucy's narration.
If you have any question, please, feel free to ask them in the comment section, or if you prefer, DM me that I'll try to respond as soon as I can.
