Chapter 50
(Phoebe's POV)
I wake up to someone kissing my neck. After the morning fog goes away, I look down to see Nathan kissing down my body. Last night we had lots of pre birthday sex. I still question how he is mine. I smile and run my hands through his hair.
He disappears under the blanket and I quickly learn why. My back arches as he fingers me. "Nathan, oh my god," that doesn't stop him. He picks up speed and sends me into a frenzy of orgasms.
I am breathless as he comes up and kisses me. "Happy birthday, my girl," he says and I smile. I take his face in my hands and kiss him.
"Thank you," I smile.
"How does it feel to be an old woman?" he asks and I smirk.
"If I am an old woman what are you?" I smirk and he laughs.
"You haven't lost your Witt in your old age," he smiles and I kiss him.
"I am going to make breakfast and wake Henry up. You do not move a muscle understand?" He asks.
"Babe," I smile.
"I mean it Phoebe Moore," he says as he slides on his boxers and pants. I relish in my half naked husband.
"Okay, I may try to go back to sleep," I say and he kisses my head.
"Whatever you want to do, it is your day," he says. He walks out and takes Henry's monitor with him. I move to Nathan's side of the bed and lay down. It smells like him, one of the most comforting scents. I fall back asleep.
When I wake back up, I hear singing. I slept for another hour and a half. I feel so refreshed. Nathan is holding a tray and Henry is singing happy birthday. He is making up the words making both Nathan and I smile. I laugh as they both come sit and the tray gets placed on my lap. My belly is in the way. The baby kicks and I smile. Hungry bean.
"Happy birfday, Bee Bee," Henry says and I smile. I kiss his head and kiss Nathan.
"Thank you boys," I say. Henry snuggles under my arm and steals a piece of bacon.
"Henry helped me put the bananas in the pancakes,'' Nathan says. I gasp and look down at Henry who has the biggest smile on his face.
"You did that all by yourself?" I ask him and he nods smiling.
"You are so helpful," I say and kiss his head.
"I so big," he says and I nod.
"You are so big now," I say and ruffle his hair. I eat my breakfast and talk to my two favorite boys.
After breakfast, Nathan takes the tray and I head to shower. I feel so loved. I dry my hair and put on a sweater and jeans. I finally ordered a pair of maternity jeans. My other ones were getting a little snug.
I walk out into the kitchen and smile. There are happy birthday balloons and Nathan is entertaining Henry by tossing him one. "Oh my goodness," I smile.
"PWESENT," Henry says and I come sit down.
"I don't need any presents," I say and Henry shoves a wrapped gift in my face.
"Oh thank you Henry," I kiss his head and open the gift. The first thing I see is a colored picture. I smile and tell him how amazing it is. He gets the biggest grin on his face.
I open a large framed picture of Nathan Henry and I. I was pregnant at the time but didn't know it. The frame is a beautiful wood. I smile and reach forward giving Henry the biggest hug.
"Thank you, buddy. I love it so much," I say. He gets rosey cheeks and smiles at Nathan.
Nathan hands me his gift. I open it and find a stunning bracelet. On it is two ruby stones, a garnet stone and a citrine stone. "All of our birthstones, babie's is on there too," he says and the pregnancy hormones get to me. After all the trials of trying to get pregnant and have babies, we have two now. I walk into Nathan's chest and hug him tightly.
"I love you so much, Bee," He says.
"I love you more," I say.
"Me," Henry says and I laugh. I pull him into our hug too.
After presents and breakfast, we play with Henry. He is in 7th heaven having all our attention on him. It is so sweet. I watch Henry play on his train table and giggle. This is the sweetest birthday yet.
At night, we head over to my parents for my birthday dinner. Henry is singing Moana in the back. Nathan has his hand resting on my leg.
"Have you had a good day?" He asks. I smile and nod.
"I especially enjoyed nap time," I blush looking down at my lap. While Henry was down for a nap Nathan and I had some one on one time.
"Lots more where that came from," he says and squeezes my leg.
When we get to my parents Henry is already trying to unbuckle himself. I smile and lift him out. He runs up the steps and Nathan and I follow him. When we walk in Mia's family and Ava's family are already there. My dad wraps me in his arms first. "Happy birthday, Bubs. You are my heart walking around," he says and I smile.
"Thank you dad," I smile and hug him tightly. I will forever be a daddy's girl.
"BUBS UP PEAS," Henry yells asking my dad to pick him up please. At least he said please.
I get passed around with lots of hugs and happy birthdays. "GREY, your bump," Ava says and gasps.
"I know," I say and turn to the side. She laughs and rubs my belly.
"Hi baby, it is your favorite Aunt here," she says.
"Watch it, this baby has one favorite aunt," Mia says and we laugh. I give Mia a hug.
"Hi Pheebs, you look great. Happy birthday kiddo," Andrew says and hugs me tightly. Oh I love Andrew so much.
"How does it feel to be 27?" my aunt Kate asks. Nathan stands behind me with his hands rested on the counter while I lean forward.
"No different than 26," I say.
"What'd I'd give," she says and we laugh. I watch as Henry and my dad sit on the couch together and talk. Henry is showing him his new car. I love watching them.
The door opens and I see Claire. Claire went home two nights ago. I have texted her every night to make sure she is okay. I do miss having her at the house.
"Phoebe, happy birthday," Claire says and I smile. She wraps her arms tightly around me and I kiss her head.
"Thank you, Claire bear," I say. "How are you?" I ask her.
"I am okay, I miss you guys," she says.
"We miss you too, you know you are welcome anytime," I say and she nods. She goes over and hugs Nathan. I smile as William walks over ready to greet her. William and her hug and I look away giving them a moment.
We are all sitting in the living room and talking. Henry is playing cars with Claire and William. Nana Moore and Noel walk in. They come sit down after swooning over my bump. Baby is getting a lot of attention tonight. Nathan hugs his nana tightly. I love their relationship.
"Phoebe, when is your due date again, hun?" Mia asks.
"July 11th," I smile and she claps her hands.
"We need to get started on the baby shower," Mia says and Ava perks up.
"Oh my gosh, we need a theme, Mia we have to get on this," Ava says. I look at Nathan and he laughs.
"Hey hey hey, she's my daughter," my mom says.
"Oh this will be so fun," Kate says. With the four of them planning I am sure it will be way over the top. This baby is going to have more clothes than me.
"Phoebe, you sure you don't want to find out the gender, it will make planning this and gift giving easier," Ava says and I laugh.
"As much as I would love to give up the surprise of knowing the gender of our first baby for the sake of a party, I will pass," I say and everyone laughs.
"Suit yourself," Ava says and I smile at her.
"Where is Berk," Nathan asks his mom.
"Her and Cole are in Portland visiting Cole's parents. She said she's going to find a time to get dinner with you guys," his mom says and we nod.
"Oh my god," my mom gasps and I turn she has the phone to her ear. Everyone turns.
"Olivia is in labor," those four words turn the house into a frenzy. It is like the scene from home alone when they wake up late for their flight.
"Hey," my dad yells. Everyone turns and looks at him.
"The only people who are going to the hospital as of now are Nathan, Ana, Phoebe and I. Once the baby is born everyone can come visit once Teddy says. He will text us in the group conversation. Now can anyone take Henry for the night?" My dad says and everyone starts offering.
"I will, I already have some of his clothes and toys at my house," Noel says.
"Thank you, okay now everyone we will have to redo this night another week. We will have another Grey with us then," everyone smiles and starts packing up.
I pick up Henry and take him with Nathan. "Henry you are going to be staying at Nono's house tonight. It is going to be so much fun," I say.
"NONO pway," He says and we nod.
"Yes, Nono is going to play with you," Nathan smiles.
"Give us big hugs okay?" I say and Henry wraps his arms tightly around my neck. I kiss his forehead then his cheek. After Nathan and him hug we pass him to Noel. When he sees us leave he starts to cry.
"Buddy, we will be back okay?" I say and give him another kiss. I know prolonging the goodbye is only making it harder.
"Bee, come on," Nathan says and ushers us out. We get into the car with my parents and head towards the hospital.
"This is so exciting, we're going to be grandparents Christian," my mom says and squeezes my dad's hand. I smile at Nathan.
"I can't believe it. I swear we were making the drive to have Phoebe last week," My dad says.
"That birth was a difficult one," my mom says. I hope my baby's birth is nothing like mine. My mom had to have an emergency C-section.
When we get to the hospital, we rush inside. They take us to a room where Olivia is on her side laying eating ice chips. Teddy is behind her massaging her back. Olivia's parents still live in Florida, so we are the only ones here.
"Hi Liv," I say and grab her hand. She gives me a tight smile. I can tell she is in pain.
"Happy birthday Pheebs, thank you for being here," she says. There is no place I would rather be. Teddy looks as concerned as I have ever seen him. I walk around and give him a hug.
"Happy birthday, Bubs," he says and kisses my head.
"Thank you, Teddy bear. You are doing great," I say and he smiles at me. Poor guy looks so stressed. I rub his back and watch as my mom holds Olivia's hand giving her some words of wisdom.
As a contraction comes Olivia squeezes her eyes closed. I can see how much pain she is in. This is not what I should be watching while I am almost 5 months pregnant. Teddy rubs her back and comforts her. This breaks my heart to see her in so much pain.
The nurse comes in and checks her IV lines and says we need to leave the room while she checks how dilated she is. We wait in the hall and when the doctor comes out she says that they are going to start pushing so to head to the waiting room.
We go back in and say good luck to them. I hug Teddy tightly. "You are going to be the best dad," I say and he smiles hugging me tightly. I hug Olivia and wish her good luck. I watch as Nathan and Teddy hug. It makes me smile. They have gotten so close recently.
"You ready for this?" Nathan asks as he walks us down the hall to the waiting room.
"Not even close," I say and he laughs.
"We have time," he says and kisses my head. We sit down in the waiting room across from my parents. My dad is pacing and my mom looks nervous.
Nathan draws circles on my wrist. I rest my head against his shoulder. He is so sweet.
"I am sorry we didn't get to finish your birthday dinner," My dad says and sits across from us next to my mom.
"Are you kidding? This is the best birthday present I could have asked for. I am going to be an Auntie," I say and my dad smiles.
"And a mom all in one year," my mom says and I nod rubbing my bump.
After an hour and a half of waiting, my belly growls. I laugh and look down. "Phoebe, we didn't eat dinner. You must be starving," My mom says.
"I am okay, baby is just being feisty," I say and they laugh.
"Let's go to the cafeteria. I will give the nurse my cell," my dad says.
"It is really okay," I say.
"Phoebe," my dad says sharply. I roll my eyes and stand up. Nathan puts his hand at the small of my back and we start to walk down to the cafeteria. When we get there it smells so good. Cheap fried food.
"What do you want?" Nathan asks.
"I'll just do the chicken fingers and french fries," I say and Nathan smiles. He gets some and my dad gets him and my mom food. I watch as my dad and Nathan argue over who will pay. Of course my dad wins.
"So, I was thinking," my mom starts.
"Oh no," I say and she laughs.
"We should do a family vacation," she says. Not what I was expecting, but okay.
"When?" I ask.
"Well, since Ted and Olivia are going to have a newborn we should probably wait a bit. I was thinking April or May. That way you aren't 8 month's pregnant and the baby is through the newborn stage," she says.
"I think that would be a lot of fun. Obviously well have to plan more in detail later but where would we go," I ask.
"SOmewhere warm. Henry would love the beach," she says and I nod. I would too.
"Yeah, that would be a lot of fun. As long as we don't have any conflicts we are in," I smile. Nathan and my dad sit down and I grab a chicken finger.
"What are our bets on the name," my mom says.
"I would have no clue," I say.
"I think one syllable," my dad says and I nod. Probably.
"Nothing too out of the box either," I say and they agree.
"Hopefully it is not the one we picked for a boy," I laugh and look at Nathan.
"That name wouldn't work for them babe," he says and I realize he is right. Greyson Grey would be a mean name to give a child.
"You are right," I laugh. I look at my parents and realize we shouldn't have said anything.
"You have a name," she says.
"Well, kind of," I say.
"Oh you have to tell us Phoebe," she says and I smile. My mom is always hungry for information. I look at Nathan. He gives me the it is up to you look.
"We are keeping them to just us until we have the baby," I say and my mom groans. My dad laughs patting her hand.
"Phoebe you are going to kill your mother. Both the gender and the name," my dad says and I laugh.
"It is special for us too. It'll be so exciting when the baby is finally here," I reassure her.
"You and I never did that. We found out the genders and name right away. Ugh remember trying to pick a name for Teddy," my mom says and I smile.
(Christian's POV)
I am across the counter from my wife who is resting her hand on her baby bump with a scowl on her face. "Why not," she says and I sigh running my hand over my face.
We are trying to name our baby boy who is going to be born any day now. We always start this conversation and it never ends well. Right now, I know we have to have it because we cannot go to the hospital without a name.
"Ana, it is a great name. I just can't say yes to it for our son. Suggest it to Kate maybe they'll use it someday," I say trying to placate her.
"Christian, this is our baby. It is a great name. Why do you hate it so much," she says and I can feel the frustration coming off of her.
"Nolan Grey, it doesn't sound right and it definitely does not feel like our baby is a Nolan," I say and she sighs.
"You haven't met him yet Grey," she says and I can see her lip starting to quiver. She is extremely emotional lately. Her hormones have her crying or yelling about everything.
I walk around the counter and cup her face in my hands. "Are there any other names," I ask. She has been stuck on Nolan for months. It is a horrible name. I can't stand it and she thinks it has to be his name. She starts to cry and I pull her to my chest as best as I can with her belly in the way.
"I just really like it," she says and I nod. I rest my chin on her head.
"What about Andrew," I say. She shakes her head.
"The boy I had my first kiss with was named Andrew," she says. And I can't mistake the jealousy that fills me.
"Okay, what about Owen," I say.
"Ew," she says and I sigh.
"I want him to be able to have a nickname," she says into my chest. We are still standing there hugging. What nickname would he have with Nolan? I don't even bring it up. I don't want to upset her more.
"Theodore?" I suggest. I wait for the groan or the head shake. I don't feel it though. I look down and see the wheels in her head turning. Hm.
"Teddy Grey, Theodore Raymond Grey," she is whispering to herself as she pulls back.
"I love it," she smiles. For a second I think I am being punked.
"Really?" I say. She cups my cheeks and pulls my lips down to meet hers.
"We can call him Teddy or Ted or Theodore, and it goes perfect with Raymond," she says and I smile.
"Teddy," she smiles and rubs her belly. I smile and kiss her so deeply. Oh this wife of mine.
(Phoebe's POV)
I am laughing as my dad explains the story about how picky my mom was. I don't hate the name Nolan, I would just never use it.
"Was it that difficult for you guys?" My dad asks.
"Not at all, I suggested a girl name we both loved and Pheebs came up with the boy name," Nathan explains as he rubs my back.
"Jeez, can you imagine," my mom says and my dad shakes his head.
All of a sudden my phone rings. It is Teddy. I smile as I pick it up. "Do you want to come meet your healthy nephew," he says and I smile.
We all basically run up the stairs and to Liv's room. Nathan has his hand on mine as we open the door. Liv looks exhausted as she holds a swaddled baby to her chest. Ted is leaned over looking at the baby. The sight brings tears to my eyes. Liv gives Ted the baby.
"I am very proud to introduce Leo Christian Grey," he says. My mom starts to cry as she goes over gushing over the baby. I go over and hug Teddy tightly. Nathan is talking to Liv. I look at my dad and see tears coming out of his eyes.
We all gush over how sweet little leo is. My dad is the proudest of all. It is the sweetest sight. Now I am excited to bring a babe into the world.
