Disclaimer: I do NOT own The Loud House
It's today… When I and Lincoln got out the bunker for our daily radiation patrol, I stopped right away, and grabbed Lincoln's shoulder. He looked back.
"Lynn." He said in a monotone voice that could rival Lucy's.
"Lincoln… I want… I need to talk to you… And… I want it to be on the house." I said. I was apprehensive, Lincoln could refuse my request, and seeing his current mood, it was a real possibility.
"Okay." He said finally. I smiled under my helmet, and grabbed his hand and dragged him to the front door and entered the house.
We had entered the house just one more time, to retrieve our parents' remains to bury them. I dragged him upstairs and pushed him to his old bedroom.
"Lynn? What are you doing?" Lincoln asked. I removed my helmet, and motioned to him to remove his. He did and looked at me. His dark eyes were like they were the last time I saw them. Blank. Without shine. I gulped. I had to do this right to work. I sat on his bed, making it squeak and dust fly up. I patted the bed by my side and he sat there.
"Lincoln… Are you alright?" I asked, tilting my head a little. Lincoln also tilted, but with confusion.
"I'm fine." He said plainly. I pursed my lips for a second, before speaking again.
"Lincoln, I can see that you're not good. We all can see. We know you Lincoln." Lincoln silence and blank stare remembered me Lucy, but with him, I could feel that it wasn't just an act, like her. "Please Lincoln… just tell me why you're like this. If you don't , we'll never be able to help you."
Lincoln closed his eyes for a second, then he stood up. Then he shouted. He shouted as hard as he could. He kept yelling until his head became red and he needed air, he made a deep breath and resumed yelling. His hands had curled into fists, he was closing his hands as hard as he could. I could see the veins on his neck dilating with all the force he was doing, like when a weightlifter used all their muscles to lift 400 pounds.
He fell to his knees and then to his elbows, finally turning the yelling into crying. I got off the bed and crouched by his side, putting my hand on his back and patting softly.
That definitely wasn't the reaction I was expecting. To be honest I didn't knew exactly what I was expecting, but that reaction had took me by surprise.
"Why?" Lincoln Finally said weakly between sobs and hiccups. "Why this happened? Why they had to die? Why? Why?"
"Lincoln…" I wanted to say something, but couldn't. I also had those questions, and I also wanted the answers badly.
"And why we had to survive…" He continued. "Just to live like animals in a cage! Our life's are ruined! Lily won't be able to live a normal life! Our future is ruined… Your futures are…"
"Shshsh…" I said, helping him sit on the floor. "Don't say those things Linc, you know that it isn't true." I said. "We received a second chance. And we need to use this chance to honor them. Live for them. God gave this to us, and even if it feels unfair, we must go on. For them." Lincoln made silence, just making some sobs between breaths.
Lincoln suddenly hugged me, taking me by surprise, he kept sobbing as I patted his back. I closed my eyes… what I was about to do was wrong. And it would be even worse by the state that he is… I hope this doesn't worsen things.
"Lincoln…" I looked him in the eyes. His were red and puffy, they gave me a sorrow sensation that made my heart throb. I'm a sudden movement, I gave him a kiss. Right in the lips. I rubbed his back, I think that he didn't even felt because of the armor, but I did so anyway.
I slowly pressed the button on the back of my neck, and the armor's form fitting got loose, it was how we got into it. And slowly started to rake it out.
That day, me and Lincoln played the game of our life.
They traveled slowly with the bike, as the Last Loud had hooked the cooler on the generator of the bike, but the cooler had to be on the sledge as it hadn't space for it on the bike, it was already full with three people riding it.
They should find a new mean of transport, the bike was starting to get too small. Well, The Loud didn't expected to have extra weight.
The Last Loud had used the last stop at the gas station to sew the coats they promised making for the two. While the girls slept, the Loud sewed. They both woke with a surprise, as Loud had put their new coats on them while they slept.
That coats would be very useful, to keep them warm and as the hide of the pufferbear was so thick, they got a new layer of protection against knives, and maybe even gunshots of low caliber guns. And they're comfy! Cassie had added when The Loud listed the perks of the coats.
Maria had asked why they didn't got a coat for them own. The Last Loud said that it's armor was enough protection, and their cape was all they needed to keep warm on the cold of the night.
The Loud pondered to itself. Maybe it was a good idea on training the two of them in combat?
Well, Cassie already had demonstrated that it had the spirit of a warrior. She didn't though twice on helping them when they had freed her from her bounds, and also didn't showed sorry or mercy when she exploded the insides of the pufferbear.
Maria on other hand, was about to get raped when they saved her, and she also froze when the pufferbear attacked them.
Thinking better, maybe the one who needed to be trained to defend itself the most was Maria. Maybe it's because Cassie was born after Day Zero, but she had the survival instincts that the Loud had to acquire with pain and tragedy.
"What do you have in mind?" Cassie asked looking back to the Loud.
"I decided that in between the voyage, I'll be training you two to defend yourselves."
"What?" Maria gasped surprised.
"Cool!" Cassie cheered.
"I'm sorry Loud, but I don't think that us-" Maria as cut off when the Loud spoke with a harsh tone.
"You two need. To survive you need to be able to fight for your life. I taught myself in the hard way, and survived this far. I'm not going to carry dead weight." Maria pursed her lips.
"Okay." She said simply with her head low.
"Don't be sad mom! It'll be fun!" Cassie said with a smile.
I laid in silence in my old bed. Looking at the decaying ceiling. I did it again. Lynn laid by my side, using my shoulder as a pillow. I looked at her.
This was wrong but damn… She was beautiful. I made a smile. Maybe I was really being to hard on myself… I'm with my sisters. And this is all that I needed.
I looked at my window. It was night already. It was better if we got back to the bunker quick. I shook her gently.
"Lynn, are you awake?" I asked lowly.
Lynn opened her eyes and looked at me. "Yes Linc…" She said with a smile "We should get on our armors and get out of here." She said as both of us sat up. "Wait, are you hearing this?"
It was a low buzz. Lynn got up the bed, wearing a old jersey, and a short she got on her old room. I also was wearing a old orange t-shirt. It was incredible that those still fit us five years later, but we wouldn't complain. She opened the rotten door and the buzz got louder. I also got up from the bed, and grabbed the first thing that looked like a weapon.
It was a old, rusted robot toy, the rusted helmet of the toy was now sharp and pointy. Lynn exited the room to the corridor. We slowly got closer to the buzz. We looked up, it was coming from the attic. Lynn reached for the string that opened the attic and pulled down, and the stairs shifted down.
For a solid minute, we looked up to the darkness that was the attic. The buzz became louder and louder.
And it happened.
I saw, in a split second a shape flying to Lynn. The world seemed to stop for a second as I looked at Lynn's eyes and she looked to mine.
A gigantic bug thing attacked Lynn, lacerating Lynn's neck with their claws and mandibles.
It was like a crossbreed between a mantis and a wasp, with a greenish yellow tint on their abdomen.
Lynn fell backwards, while trying to get the insect off her neck, but it was determined and resisted, digging their claws deeply on Lynn's flesh. Blood drizzled down the neck and Lynn also started to coughing up blood, she probably was having trouble breathing.
I used the toy robot, impaling it on the abdomen of the insect and pulled out Lynn's neck. I tossed it on the wall and it fell hard on the floor. I stomped on the insect repeatedly until my foot was covered in bug goo and the insect was unrecognizable.
I shifted my attention to Lynn and desperately lowered myself, putting my hand on her neck, to stop the blood coming out.
Lynn coughed and blood spurted out her mouth. She was drowning on her own blood.
"Linc…" She forced it out. "I… Love… You…" She continued to force out words.
"Lynn… Stop!" I said panicking.
"Linc… Please… live." She said and stopped, looking at the ceiling.
"NO!" I screamed and grabbed the unconscious Lynn in my arms and rushed outside and screamed at the bunker entrance.
"HELP! HELP! WE NEED HELP! QUICK! HELP!" The bunker's hatch swung open and Lisa appeared with a radiation mask.
"Why do you took sOH MY GOD!" She shouted and rushed outside, wing followed by the rest of my sisters.
When they looked at the situation, they shouted, screamed, squealed or cried in dispair.
I gently placed Lynn on the ground as Lisa looked her.
"Lisa, you need to be fast, we still can save her, we just need to-"
"Lincoln." Lisa spoke. I stopped.
"Lynn is dead."
N/A: I do not have anything to add. yeah, she died, The Last Loud isn't Lynn.
