Hey Yo! NerdRyuu here and this is the 14th chapter of The Last Loud.
Last chapter Lynn was attacked by a giant bug and was killed.
Let's get to this week's question.
Dimitri Gomez: Would Lynn have survived if she had wirn her armor?
Yes, yes she would
Let's get to the chapter!
Disclaimer: I do NOT own The Loud House
"No… no…" I said, without trying to put my somber facade. Lincoln was in silence, breathing heavily. He was shaking and his eyes were flowing with tears.
"What were you doing?" Lori shouted angrily to Lincoln. "Why you're so late? Why you were without your armors?" She gasped at her own realization. "Lincoln! How could you do it!? Again! This is your fault!"
"Lori!" I shouted. "Don't blame him! Mistakes were made, but it isn't his fault!" I spoke with pain in my voice.
"You don't know what you're saying Lucy!" Lori said, turning back to Lincoln. "Is this what you two were doing while you went outside!?"
"No!" Lincoln spoke with his voice almost cracking. "It was our first time! She wanted to make me feel better…"
"Unbelievable! So what were you doing if that it was the first time with her?" Lori shouted angrily.
"We were burying the remains of our parents and friends!" Lincoln shouted back, making Lori shut her mouth. Lincoln's crackling voice continued. "Don't you know how much I love her? She… was trying to make me happy…" Lincoln fell to his knees by Lynn's body, tears flooded freely down his cheeks as he continued. "You're right Lori. It's my fault." Lincoln gently grabbed Lynn, without caring with her blood dirtying him.
He hugged her gently. Blood drooped from Lynn's neck, mixing with Lincoln's tears. We all sobbed in silence. Realization finally kicking it.
Lynn was dead.
It pained me when Lori ordered me to clean Lynn and prepare her for the burial. I had to clean the fresh blood and clean the dry. To hide her wound on the neck, I had to use bandages. I had to undress her already cooling body and dress her with the only good dress she had. It was a simple red dress that once was used to go to a marriage. Now it was going to be her burial wear. I made my best to hide my emotions while doing it, but I just couldn't refrain the tears.
Lincoln explained that she was attacked by surprise by a giant bug that looked like a mantis crossed with a wasp. Not even in my most delightful nightmare I could imagine that such creature could exist.
Lisa went back inside the house to retrieve the armors and get DNA samples of the giant bug, Lincoln accompanied her, in case another giant bug could be lurking around. Fortunately, they returned without any incident.
Lincoln insisted on carrying Lynn to the cemetery that they both made and filled. I had to be envious for not having the chance to do that myself, but it was fine. They did a simple yet fine job making that cemetery, I would add some proper tombstones, mausoleums and a death angel statue, but it was fine like that.
Lincoln gently put Lynn on a previously dug grave, it was the first on it's row and it had many other graves ready. How many people they were going to bury?
We surrounded Lynn on her grave. Looking at her, paying our respects.
Lori quietly cried.
Leni was crying desperately.
Luna sobbed with her eyes closed.
Luan sobbed while biting her lower lip
Lana had red and puffy eyes due so much crying.
Lola tried to refrain her emotions to not end like Leni.
Lisa was clearly crying, although I couldn't see her eyes due how foggy the lenses of her glasses were.
Lily cried with her face buried on Lori's leg while hugging her, our oldest sibling gently stroked her hair.
And Lincoln.
He has the look of someone that lived a thousand years of torment.
We remained in silence for a long time. Just looking at our late sister. It was starting to get dark and it started raining when we decided to finally bury her.
Lincoln insisted that he wanted to do it alone. With some protests, Lori let him, and we returned to the bunker.
We didn't saw Lincoln until sun dawn.
"Now, when you have the fist of your opponent in hand, you need to turn around and put the arm on your shoulder. And then." The Loud flipped Maria over their back and the woman fell on the ground on her back, with her hand still being hold by Loud.
They were on once was a forest, a cemetery of dead trees, with just dirt and none green on sight.
"That. Was. So. COOL" Cassie shouted excited. "Let me do it, let me, let me!" Maria sat up on the dirt ground.
"Do I really need to be the training dummy?" She said massaging her back.
"Do you want me to do that to your daughter?" Loud said simply. Maria made a nod, silently saying that she got the point.
"Uh, Uh! Do on me! Do that flip thingy on me!" Cassie asked, jumping on the fallen tree she was sitting on.
Loud looked from Cassie to Maria. Maria looked to Loud and then to Cassie.
"How do you expect me to learn something if I can't try it?" Cassie pre argued before they responded.
"Okay." Maria said with sigh. "But Loud, can you hold back a little with her?"
The Loud didn't responded as Cassie approach them. "Okay, I'm ready!" She said with a confident smile.
"Give me everything you have." Loud said, lifting their fists. They had took off their cloak for the practice, without it, them two girls could see the tall figure's physique. It was rather lean, but also very bulky on the shoulders, and god damn, or their armor made they look that way or their legs were indeed very athletic, with powerful calves and thighs that could crush a skull easily.
Cassie made a swing in a odd angle, this confused the Loud who tried to catch her hand, but she swung down, putting her hand on the ground and performed a capoeira Spinning kick on the Loud's side.
The Loud was took by surprise but was able to defend the kick. Cassie used the momentum to trade the hand that was on the ground and performed another capoeira kick, the L-kick, Loud was able to react quickly enough to defend it. Continuing with the momentum, Cassie swung her leg down made a backwards cartwheel kick, and grazed Loud's chest and finally with the momentum left threw a punch turning around but this, Loud caught.
"I'm surprised." They commented, but them they hooked their foot behind hers and sweep, making Cassie fall backwards, still with her first being held. The Loud put the foot on her abdomen assuring she stood on ground. "But still needs to learn to pay attention on your opponent's actions instead of putting a show for them."
"Oh, come on!" Cassie said with a smile. "I almost got you, didn't I?" She said in chuckles.
The Loud made a single chuckle and took their foot off Cassie and offered the hand for her to get up, which she accepted and she got up with their help. The girl went back to the bike to get water.
"Tell me something." Loud said to Maria. "Where'd she learned those moves?"
"We had a videogame back on our old bunker. She played a lot of Tekken." Maria explained.
Interesting, Cassie had learned some advanced moves just by playing videogames. That girl kept surprising them.
N/A: I don't have much to add here, but, when I kill someone that I like when O write something or when someone dies in the the DDs sections I DM, I try to give them a respectful send-off they deserve, and Lynn's funeral was my way to do it.
If you wanted to ask something to me, or have anything to say, feel free to comment, I also have a Twitter @ryuu_baku, where I'm posting updates for the story and other fun things.
Until next week.
Bye.
