Hey Yo! NerdRyuu here and here is the 15th chapter of The Last Loud!
last chapter, the Louds realized a funeral for their deceased sister Lynn...
I didn't received any question this week so let's go straight to the chapter!
DISCLAIMER: I do NOT own The Loud House
Some months passed since Lynn's passing. Seven to be exactly. I've been busy organizing and managing our supplies. As the leader, it's my duty to keep everyone safe and alive. I feel like the death of Lynn was my fault, although it wasn't my idea to get out of the bunker, I've let myself be convinced to let two of my siblings go outside completely blind.
And again, by Lisa's request, I accepted her proposal on making a outside plantation to test if the ground of the wasteland was fertile or nothing could be planted there. To the surprise of all of us, the soy beans actually started to grow. To maintain our prospering plantation, I commissioned a group to do the job.
I didn't wanted a small group, so said group was made of Luna, Luan, Lana and me to manage them. Everyday we would go outside and work at our growing farm. Just Luna that didn't do the hard work, due her pregnancy, she just acted like a supervisor for me. I normally wouldn't let her be part of the farming group, but she insisted on participating.
But there's one thing that was bothering me. And it's Lincoln. Ever since Lynn's death, he started to work out, using Lynn's old equipment we found on the house. He's been also practicing shooting, with a airsoft handgun we also found when we explored the abandoned mall.
He became such a hunk, he was already pretty well built before, but now he was really strong now, I read once that often men would try compensate their depression working out. This made me sad for him.
But god damn, he already was good looking before, but now, wow. I think it may be because of me being frustrated for nearly six years now, but I literally couldn't stop looking at his biceps while we ate breakfast.
I considered in doing like Luna and sneaking to his room at night and have some fun, but I just couldn't, firstly, he's literally my brother, secondly, I'm the leader, I need to set the example for the others.
Oh what the hell, who am I kidding? I'm marching to his room at this moment. It's 4 am and I already checked of everybody is asleep. I also managed to convince Luna to sleep with Luan this night, as she lately has been sleeping on Lincoln's room.
I swallowed dryly looking at his door. I'm doing this just because how pent up I am… just that. Just that.
I slowly opened the door, making my best to not make any noise as I entered the room and closed the door again. I walked up to his bed, where the blanket slowly raised and lowered with his breath.
I swallowed a lump in my throat. I removed his blanket. He was sleeping calmly on his back. I crawled up the bed and sat on his stomach and admired him for a moment.
Just pent up…
"Lincoln." I called lowly, tapping gently his shoulder. He shifted his head left and right and opened his eyes.
"Lori?" he replied also lowly. "w-what are you doing here? A-and why are-" I put my finger on his lips, making him stop.
"You're going to do me, no questions made." I said with conviction.
"Wha-"
"No. Questions." I repeated, cutting him off. I leaned to kiss him.
He didn't objected anymore that night.
The trio had stopped for the night. The only thing illuminating them was the moonlight and the fire pit the Last Loud had set. It has been four months since the Loud had helped Cassie and Maria, and their training continued.
The two had became a lot more proficient in combat, Maria specially, she became particularly good with handguns and other firearms.
Cassie, who had recently completed 15 years, wasn't so good with firearms. Although she was good with short range firearms, like shotguns, her specialty laid with hand to hand. She had became even better than Loud at hand to hand.
As their accomplishments, they had jury rigged two old sidecars on the bike to make the voyages more comfortable for the three of them, and upgraded their improvised sledge into a small trailer for the bike, where they would put their important stuff into. Cassie started calling the bike their home and even named her "Ripley". Loud and Maria though that it was a foul's idea naming a bike, but the name stuck and in the end, even Loud started calling the bike Ripley
They raided several places on these months, acquiring a rifle, three semi auto pistols and a combat knife. The rifle was stored on the trailer, while the pistols were with Maria and the knife with Cassie, with the third pistol hidden for a emergency, inside her sock.
In the end, they didn't went back to Michigan to retrieve a Geiger counter, this task ended being side lined time and time again as more and more things appeared for them to do.
Maria was already asleep, leaving Cassie and Loud alone, looking at the fire pit.
"You know what I noticed Loud?" Cassie asked. The Loud just looked at the girl. "We still don't know who you really are." The Loud said nothing, just looked at the fire pit. "Don't misunderstand me, I'm not asking you anything, if you don't want to say anything, you don't need to, I'm just pointing out."
"I was born in Michigan." The Loud said finally, surprising Cassie. She didn't knew what "Michigan" was, but she wouldn't say anything, they were finally opening to her. "Before day Zero. My family was big."
"How big?" Cassie asked. The Loud looked at the girl.
"I had ten siblings." They answered, Cassie whistled.
"Yeah, that's one big family." She said in a playful tone.
"Yeah, we…" The Loud looked past Cassie. "Grab your things. Wake your mother."
"What happened?" Cassie asked confused, but doing exactly what the Loud ordered.
"We're being followed." The Loud simply as they put out the fire pit. "Wake your mother." Cassie nodded, surprised how the Loud could be so sure they were being followed. She looked around as she went to wake her mother. No signs of anyone or anything. No, far away on the distance she could see a light coming in their direction, and fast.
"Mom!" Cassie called, shaking her mother's shoulder, who woke in a brief panic.
"What?" Maria asked confused.
"Get up, someone or something is following us!" Cassie warned as she started getting her fur coat on. Maria got up and also put the coat she was using as her sleeping bag.
"It isn't another of Loud's paranoia attacks, is it?" Maria said, more annoyed than anything.
"You tell me!" Cassie pointed to the light, which was getting bigger and closer, now being able to be discerned as two headlights of some vehicle.
"Oh crap." Maria said jumping on the left sidecar, Cassie jumped on the right one. Loud had already mounted the bike and started it.
But the bike didn't started. They tried again, the gargled and died. "Oh, come on!" The Loud spoke out loud, punching the speedometer frustrated. "This isn't the time;" The Loud tried to bargain with Ripley, but again it failed to start. The Loud groaned. " We don't have time to fix Ripley, get your weapons, we'll need to fight.
They got out Ripley and pulled their preferred choice of weapons. Cassie made her knife ready, Maria pulled her two pistols and Loud just pulled their shotgun on their hands.
N/A: So yeah, Lincoln hooked up with another of his sisters, and they finally 'lost' the fear of the outside and started a farm on the premises close to the bunker.
In the future arc, I made a time jump, because I thought it would be repetitive, making them travel, find something, make something, train, and repeat, over and over again, so I jumped ahead to make things more interesting.
The nickname of the bike "Ripley" is a reference of one of my favorite films and character, Ellen Ripley from Alien.
