In front of a seemingly innocent field, where trees gathered and birds sang as they sit atop branches and nests, eight figures could be seen as they stood straight, wearing solemn faces and with their alertness set to max.
One of the figures was a giant crow, and the rest were humans. One of the humans had red hair, and he was currently standing still with shut eyes, his arm was stretched outward, straight like a spear as if trying to grab something out of thin air.
DRIP… DRIP…
Suddenly, blue energy gathered around his fingers and turned into black ink as they dripped down to his palm and gathered into a pool of black orbs.
SWIISH…
Spinning like a whirlpool, the black orb slowly expanded into a thin circle and turned into a clean, refreshing white.
SHAAAA!
Just as the spectators were admiring the porcelain-like sheet, it exploded into a brilliant light show of multiple colors, and another world was unveiled in front of their eyes.
"Wow…"
At first, they were amazed at the spectacle happening as Naruto opened the Space Barrier, but as they saw what was beyond the Space Barrier, they all frowned simultaneously.
"Horrible…"
Hinata mumbled, taking in the sight of ruined buildings and crushed homes with her powerful Byakugan eyes.
Looking to his side, Naruto noticed that no one reacted to what he was seeing, as he had expected. 'My theory is correct, I can see Sealing Chakra. It's still a bit odd that the Byakugan can't see it, though.'
Hinata had her Byakugan active, but she showed no reaction to what looked like hell to Naruto. From her reaction, Naruto deduced that she could only see ruined buildings, otherwise, she would be freaking out right about now or at least, have a stronger reaction. Everywhere he looked, there would be residual Sealing Chakra. Some were as charred as charcoal, while some were as crimson as blood. But there was one thing that connected them all. They were all filled with despair, and they all moved erratically at speeds only a ninja could see. They looked like a swarm of ants or a bee hive.
'I wonder how gruesome the final battle between the clan and that alien was,' Naruto thought as they walked closer and closer to the center of this ruined village.
"Wow…"
Naruto heard someone exclaim, although he wasn't sure who. That was his first reaction too when he first saw the Clan Head's Tower cleaved cleanly in half. Now that he was seeing it again, this time with the ability to see Sealing Chakra, Naruto was awestruck, his eyes could almost be as round as a dinner plate.
'Amazing…'
In front of him was a golden beacon of translucent, Sealing Chakra. The golden Sealing Chakra covered the entire building like it was trying to burn it in flames, yet actually doing no harm.
'This is the Sealing Chakra of the last Clan Head? It's so beautiful… I wonder what his Fuinjutsu Path was.'
From what Karasu told him, no one knew the Clan Head's Fuinjutsu Path even as he died.
Suddenly, Naruto had an idea.
'I'm a Fuinjutsu Professor now. Maybe I can read the Uzumaki Scroll now that I can see Sealing Chakra? Maybe the Clan Head wrote down his Fuinjutsu Path and experience there.'
As he lead the group to the highest floor of the tower and into the office, Naruto couldn't wait to tear open the Uzumaki Scroll that he had gotten all those years ago. Back then, he couldn't read a single sentence, but he felt that it should be different now.
Embracing himself, Naruto unsealed a scroll and opened it for everyone to see. Unsurprisingly, aside from him, no one was able to see anything written in the scroll, not even Karasu.
"What's this…?"
Naruto's eyes twitched, and his hands began trembling from fright at the disorderly handwriting of the Clan Head. The first few sentences were neat and organized, but then as if a hungry dog had invaded the Clan Head's mind, his writing began to deteriorate and the sentences he wrote were barely coherent.
'Just what exactly happened?'
As he read more and more of the Clan Head's tale, his palm began to sweat and he felt hot everywhere, his body tensed up as if preparing for a fight or a run.
"My name is Chisuke Uzumaki. If you're reading this, then that means that I picked you as my successor. Congratulations! I hope you lead Uzushiogakure well. When you are about to retire, don't forget to write in the diary section of the Uzumaki Scroll.
There are many things I want to tell you, but I'm sure already told you everything I wanted to. After all, I have a very long lifespan, much longer than a regular Uzumaki. In fact, I think I can live for three hundred years! So, if you have any questions regarding how to—"
Suddenly, the words were cut off and a thick layer of black Sealing Chakra covered the words, as if the Clan Head splashed a bottle of ink into the scroll. As he read more of the diary, Naruto realized that the contents of the diary had been erased to make room for a more recent paragraph.
This time, each sentence was written with a layer of Sealing Chakra, as if the one writing in the scroll was constantly leaking Sealing Chakra like a bleeding person.
"The clan has suffered—
Torn apart by that monster, beware of the Sage's…
I failed. My last attempt at killing him…
I sealed him, though he will return. I plan on reviving the clan.
The clan is dead. I've doomed the clan.
Uzumaki, you're—… capable of reading this. Only y—
…you're blood. Give your blood to the scroll… and chakra.
Please…"
Seeing the increasingly chaotic words, Naruto tilted his head. 'Does he mean to add my blood and chakra into the scroll?'
Trusting the clan head's words, Naruto took out a kunai and sliced at his palm while pouring chakra into his blood. As soon as the blood touched the scroll, he felt increasingly dizzy until he suddenly fell to the ground, much to the shock of the entire group.
Opening his eyes, Naruto felt like his entire body had turned into a chunk of metal as he was forced to move against his will.
'This… am I watching through the Clan Head's eyes?'
As Chisuke cast his cold, hateful gaze at a figure in front of him who had snow-white skin, bluish-white hair, sporting the Byakugan eyes and a horn on the side of his head, wrapping around his ears like a sheep's horn, the mysterious figure laughed.
"What an interesting human. I was right, this planet is a gold mine," the man chuckled and Naruto felt an infinite bubbling emotion rise from deep inside his heart. It was like being burned alive by his own passion and hatred, totally a new feeling for Naruto, who had only seen the world through filmed glasses.
Even though he grew up with the Nine-Tailed Fox inside of him, he never really cared about the villagers. He only cared about Fuinjutsu, and only Fuinjutsu could make him move. Soon, his interests changed to a few more matters such as protection and love, but his hunger for Fuinjutsu never waned. It was simply waiting for the right opportunity to spring back.
When Naruto heard a growl come out of his throat, Naruto was startled back into the illusion he was in. 'Hatred… is an interesting emotion. I'll take it to mind.'
"Whoever you are, I warn you now, do not take a step further into our lands or you'll suffer the consequences, foreign visitor," Chisuke growled, his fists clenched and golden spiky chains emerging from his back, slowly, silently, but at the same time fast and energetic.
"Humph, a mere mortal dares to order me around? Foolish. Whatever, you're pitifully ignorant of your circumstances anyway, I won't bother with you any longer. Come, let me turn you into a fine crop."
Suddenly, everything turned black for Naruto.
"Ha… Ha… Something… is inside me. I can sense that bastard's chakra signature inside of me!"
As Chisuke panted on the ground, around him were countless dead ninjas. The Uzumaki clan was under attack by nearly every ninja village in the world, and he could feel that a catastrophe was about to happen, he just didn't what.
"I'm… dying. No, I need to die. It doesn't matter even if the Uzumaki wins this war, as long as I'm alive, that guy will resurrect," stopping at that sentence, Chisuke's breathing halted, and his mind slowly processed what he has to do.
"Maybe… maybe… I can try and resurrect the fallen Uzumaki."
The Uzumaki was an ancient clan, dating as far back as the Senju and Uchiha, the rumored origin of all kekkei genkai and dojutsu. As an ancient clan, the Uzumaki has many records about the legends that walked the world, and one of them was the tales of the Sage of Six Paths.
Rumor has it, the Sage once resurrected a fallen kingdom after every citizen there went extinct.
"That way, I can hit two birds with one stone. My body will burn, while the Uzumaki will rise from my ashes! Perfect!"
Grinning from ear to ear, Chisuke limped toward the Clan Head's tower, clutching his head with one arm as a mysterious pattern was drawn at the side of his head.
"I have to hurry…"
One step at a time, he mutters as he opened a scroll, pouring all his insight, emotions, and soul into a single Sealing Formula.
"I… have to hurry…"
He smiled, grinning from ear to ear as he watched his masterpiece come to life with crazed, bleeding bloodshot eyes.
'I have… to hurry… but… but…'
He was a Fuinjutsu Master, the last Uzumaki Fuinjutsu Master, so he was confident with himself. If he wanted to, he could write any Sealing Formula he wanted.
But he had a certain feeling, a feeling that something will go wrong.
"I want to… ha… I want to review this Seal, but there's… no more time. That guy is waking up, ugh—gah!"
COUGH! COUGH!
Looking down at his own hands, covered in dark, crimson liquid and bits of flesh, a flash of light crossed Chisuke's eyes as he steeled his resolve.
"For better or for worse, my clan… my beloved clan, I hope you can forgive me if I fail."
Hesitating one final time, Chisuke took out the Uzumaki Scroll and overwrote the section below his name, channeling his chakra continuously like a trickling faucet, broken yet intentionally so.
"Adamantine Sealing Chains, Sealing Formation: Heaven and Earth!"
SHAAA! BURST—PSHUUUU!
CLANG! CLANG! CLANG!
Like hungry wolves, golden chains doused in blood sprouted out of his back and traveled far into four directions outside the protective Space Barrier of the Uzumaki Clan.
Chisuke looked one final time at the kneeling Uzumaki not too far away from him as he made his final vow.
"Sealing Formation: Heaven and Earth, Gates to Ressurection."
BOOM—FUSHAAA!
Bursting like a mad dragon of flame and a volcano that had waited for a hundred years to erupt, Chisuke's body was engulfed in flames as he endured silently the unbearable pain.
"All for the… clan…"
Suddenly, he frowned, clutching his head as a peal of laughter reverberated inside his mind. Smiling bitterly, Chisuke closed his eyes and sighed.
He realized that his plan to resurrect the clan failed, judging from the fact that no green light emerged from his body like green rain dousing the thirsty dead bodies of his clansmen.
'But I'll hold off this guy for as long as I can. Until then, my successor, I hope you can find my body.'
"Blood Fuinjutsu Art, Eight Trigrams: Eternal Imprisonment."
CLANG! CLANG! PCHUU—CHUUUK!
All of a sudden, Chisuke's own chakra chains burst forth from the ground and stabbed his limbs, pinning him to the ground. However, when the chains aimed for his head, horns suddenly grew from the side of his head as he let out a bitter smile.
"I hurried… but I was too late. It's up to you now, successor."
Just before Naruto's view was cut off by the Clan Head, he left an ominous sentence.
"Find me and destroy my body, whoever you are."
"GASP!"
"Naruto! What happened?"
Hearing Hinata's alarmed voice, Naruto's head nearly snapped as he looked to his side. Seeing that the group was all surrounding him with worried stances, Naruto smiled.
"I… the last Clan Head's name is Chisuke Uzumaki, and he left us a valuable clue and an ominous warning. He wants us to destroy his body," Naruto said and looked at Karasu.
"Why…? His body should've burned during the ceremony!" Karasu said, dumbfounded by the clan head's words.
"Hold on…" Naruto raised his hand and massaged his forehead. Then, he picked up the Uzumaki scroll and skimmed through it one more time. "Clan Head Chisuke's Fuinjutsu Path is Time. Specifically, he can slow down time, that's why in his original description, he wrote that he could live for a very long time," Naruto sighed. 'What a powerful Path. I wonder how the Chisuke managed to do it...'
After a while, Naruto started to wonder what his Path would be. 'Godfather's path is 'Stealth,' Orochimaru's path is 'Parasitism,' and the Clan Head's path is 'Time.' I'm guessing the Clan Head was being pressured by the lack of time, so he awakened the ability to slow down time. My main goal is to become a god, I wonder what path I will awaken?'
"The path of Time? That's… unexpected. Maybe he slowed down his death? But why would he do that?" Karasu said, ever doubtful of the events.
"No, the clan head didn't do it. He was already under the control of the alien force the clan encountered way back…"
"WHAT?! Does… that mean we have to fight that alien?" Karasu yelled out. He was the only one in the group who experienced that alien's might, only he could understand its true power.
"Most likely, but if we find the clan head's body in time, maybe we can surpass this calamity without suffering anything…" Naruto mumbled, his mind spinning to find an answer to his one glaring question.
'Where the hell should we search for the clan head's body?'
