Chapter 64: A Brilliance in the Darkness

Feeling the surge of malevolent chakra spread out, Zabuza, Haku, and Hinata looked out. They looked toward Naruto and they all had the same thought.

'Someone was caught by the Mizukage.'

Only, Hinata activated her byakugan and grimaced at what she saw.

'Naruto-kun!'

SWOOSH!

"Urgh…"

Mind groggy, Naruto stood up. His skin was charred, and it looked as if they were peeling off his body as red blood and chakra mixed.

Soon, the bubbling red chakra formed a thick coat around Naruto, and behind him sprouted two tails.

"This… feels good!"

Naruto exclaimed. His body couldn't be worse, but he was feeling as if he had taken a bath for the first time in forever.

'That's because my chakra is stretching out your chakra coils at a rapid rate. Thankfully, your chakra system is strong enough to support the sudden surge. Otherwise, you'd be dead meat. Also, after this…'

'I know. After this, chakra control would be as hard as lifting the heavens…. and chakra chains would be no more.'

He can still use chakra chains as long as he can separate Kurama's chakra and his chakra. However, that would take a mountain of focus, something impossible for him to do in a hot battle.

"ROAAAR!"

Naruto roared in frustration and looked at Yagura, who was still inside his chakra cloak. Similarly, Yagura looked back at him with a frown.

"The kyuubi… is truly powerful."

Yagura could feel it. Even though Naruto was just in his two-tail chakra cloak, he was already as strong as him, who was in his final three-tail cloak.

"Yagura, let's fight again."

Naruto taunted and dashed toward YAgura. Compared to the latter, he was much faster. After all, he was a fox and the other was a turtle.

When Naruto appeared, he was already in front of Yagura. Yagura used his corals to block the assault, but even he was still blown back.

"Hmph."

Naruto scoffed. It was the first time since their battle that he wasn't hopeless against the Mizukage.

"You're foolish if you think that's it."

Yagura laughed and flickered. Naruto was the same as he charged at Yagura with his fist ready to slam against a face.

BANG! CRACK—!

When Naruto's fists hit Yagura, Yagura used his coral once again to block it. Like before, Yagura flew back but he regained his balance. However, Naruto's fist was now covered in corals.

'Naruto, the battle has to be quick. Otherwise, our link will be cut off as this is our first time using my chakra,' Kurama said, 'Our first time in a long while, anyway.'

'Got it. Thanks for the heads up.'

Naruto clenched his fist and destroyed the corals in one go.

After destroying Yagura's corals, Naruto crossed his fingers.

'It's nice to have an abundance of chakra,' Naruto grinned at the thought.

"Multi Shadow Clone Jutsu."

Hundreds of Naruto appeared, and they all had a swirling violet orb on their palms. It was the Rasengan infused with the kyuubi's chakra.

"Hmph!"

Seeing the army of clones, Yagura wasn't deterred as he gathered chakra into his mouth and after he felt a warm feeling inside his mouth, he spat it all out toward Naruto's clones.

POOF! POOF! POOF!

The clones were shaved down like flies as red bullets flew across the air and pierced each clone they struck.

"What the…"

'Naruto, don't waste chakra. Our time is being shortened…'

Kurama warned. He thought Naruto would be more conservative. He didn't expect his partner to waste half of their chakra at once.

'I didn't know he could spit out a rain of chakra bullets!'

Naruto grumbled and looked inside his mind for an answer.

The solution he found was simple. To escape.

'Damn, I thought I can defeat him with your chakra. '

Naruto shook his head and turned to rush the mist ninjas surrounding him. Seeing his action, Yagura's face darkened.

"You're not escaping!"

He yelled and chased after Naruto.

"Water Style: Waterfall Jutsu!"

The mist ninjas all yelled as one and a massive water wall that looked like a waterfall sprouted from the ground. Naruto didn't stop and charged through it, turning water into steam.

"Bunch of fodder," Naruto muttered as he swung his claws and send wind blades toward the mist ninjas. The mist ninjas tried to dodge, but the wind blades were faster than expected as half of them died all at once.

Naruto tried to run again, only to feel a very familiar type of chakra being used against him.

'I should've expected that they'll have a sealing team,' Naruto cursed. Although he can outrun the mist ninjas' sealing techniques, he still has to be careful. He was a fuinjutsu professor. He knew first-hand how tricky fuinjutsu is.

Furthermore, he was currently unable to use any of his sealing jutsu.

'I need more speed…'

Naruto thought and got to all fours. Then, he ran like a fox toward the mist ninjas, blitzing toward them before changing his mind to suddenly turn back.

'What a joke!'

If he had kept running, he would've run straight to a pit of fuinjutsu experts. Most of them were level 2 with a few level 3s.

'I didn't know there were still so many fuinjutsu experts alive!'

Naruto had Ginko, but all the fuinjutsu experts there were trained by Naruto himself. Otherwise, they'd not be able to create the Explosive Scroll Seals.

"Nice try," suddenly, Yagura appeared in front of Naruto and swung his coral-covered fists. Naruto blocked them with his arms, only for his arms to get stuck as coral glued them together.

Using the nine-tails chakra, he slowly corroded the corals but for now, he was handicapped.

"Surround him!"

Yagura ordered and his ninjas obeyed. The key part, most of those who surrounded Naruto were fuinjutsu experts. Level 2 fuinjutsu experts may not be much, but together, they were a force to be reckoned with.

"Damn…" Naruto never felt so hopeless in his entire career. 'I guess this is why you don't fight on the enemy's turf,' Naruto lamented as he looked around.

CRACK—SHATTER…

As the corals binding his arms together shattered, Naruto swung his arms to create sharp wind blades that shredded the mist ninjas… or it would've, had Yagura not created a massive wall of corals to protect his ninjas.

"He can also do that?!" Naruto was irritated. 'Kurama, what can you do?' Naruto asked. He was hoping that his partner had something that can help him.

'I… can sense negative emotions… and regenerate fast,' Kurama said a bit sorry for Naruto.

As expected, Naruto was disappointed. But he didn't mull for long as the mist ninjas were preparing to launch an offensive. Yagura stayed back to keep Naruto from escaping.

Suddenly, when all hope was lost to Naruto, he sensed a familiar chakra signature running toward his location.

"No way…"

Sensing the chakra signature, Naruto didn't hesitate to blitz Yagura, who was caught off-guard and sent him flying far into the forest behind.

Just as Naruto punched Yagura away, a commotion happened amongst the enemy ranks.

"Eight Trigrams, One Hundred Twenty-Four Palms!"

As chakra gathered around a figure, the nearby mist ninjas were blown away as their chakra paths were destroyed. Not only that but the muscles around their hearts were also shredded apart.

Hinata had entered the ring.
