Love Me Forever More (Datherine)
Summary: Several years after Elena died but Damon is still a vampire, he hears that Katherine's alive in New Orleans, but in trouble, so he looks for her, only to find out that there's a crazy vampire loose Klaus had put in the Garden ages ago. Aurora. And she's the only that went after Kat. Can he find the buried box in time that she's in, or will he be too late? Can he get rid of Aurora since older vampires are stronger, or will he have to enlist help?
It was a dismal night, as Damon entered the only bar in the Quarter. He was in town to find Katherine. He'd heard she was in trouble with a vampire named Aurora. Before he went looking though, he needed a drink. He also needed someone that could help him. He just wasn't sure if the only living Mikaelson witch would help. After all, witches had a habit of hating him for simply being a vampire, or there were other reasons they hated him. He needed a witch or older vampire to help him. After all, he knew a vampire being after her had to be five hundred years old or older, which he figured meant he couldn't take down Aurora by himself.
He sat down at the bar, ordered a shot glass of Bourbon and, once was served, he began to drink it. Then, when he was done, he left the money for her and headed to the Mikaelson compound. He hoped Freya would be kind enough to help him locate her.
Once at the compound in the courtyard, he saw her on the ground. Though he didn't know her, having only known about her from Hope and seen pictures of her, he blurred over to her and knelt by her, which was when she began to wake up.
"What happened?" Damon quizzed.
"A vampire named Aurora escaped. Klaus sealed her behind a wall in the Garden for punishment years ago. Who are you?"
He helped her up and got to his feet.
"Damon Salvatore. I need your help. Aurora has done something drastic. I can't take down Aurora on my own, but I can find Katherine with your help. I heard she was back and is in trouble with Aurora, so I came here. I may not love her anymore, but I won't let an enemy hurt her or worse. Besides, we may always throw knives at each other, but we have always had the rule that if an enemy comes after one of us, the other will do whatever they see fit to the enemy. No one hurts either of us and gets to live. So, will you help me find her?" he introduced and explained, before asking her for help.
"Of course, but why would she want Katherine?" Freya replied and quizzed.
"You know more about her than I do, but despite everything she'd done, she and Elijah had something special when she was a vampire for five hundred years. I don't know if that means anything, but that's the only thing I can think of."
After he told her that, she realized that Aurora was getting back at Elijah, despite him and Klaus being dead, which meant that Aurora was making it a game to see how long it would take for her to be found.
"Then let's find her. Aurora did something similar to me years ago. I was buried in a box. She made it into a game to see if Klaus could find me in time. She thought if she got rid of everyone he cared about, Klaus would go back to her. She also wanted revenge. When Elijah compelled for the first time, it was when he wanted to know from her what secret Klaus had that he hadn't told anyone. When she told him that he killed our mother, he was angry. He compelled her to tell Klaus that she never loved him. When Aurora came here, she was ready to kill Elijah and warm herself back into his life to be together with him again. She's insane, but still causes a lot of trouble. We don't know what she'd done to her, much less how much time she has left, so let's work quickly. I'll deal with the crazy bitch. Once I locate her, you go get Katherine."
Damon agreed with her. Then, once they were at a table with a map in front of them, Freya spoke again.
"Katherine turned you. Whether she's a vampire or not, they'll always be a connection. Blood calls blood. Because she turned you, the two of you are blood. It should work if we use your blood."
He understood what she was saying, and let her cut his hand so some of his blood would go onto the map. Then his hand healed, and Freya did the spell. As she did the spell, the blood began moving toward Kat's location. It didn't take long for it to stop, which told them that she was in the Bayou.
Great, he thought, and hoped none of the wolves would come after him. He hoped they'd stay hidden and left him alone.
Half an hour later, he was in the Bayou, heading towards the area she was at, keeping an alert for any wolves.
Meanwhile, Katherine was in a box, injured from Aurora. She didn't know how long she'd been in there, but she was weak with her vision going black. She knew she'd lost a lot of blood. The worst part was she didn't think anyone knew that she was in trouble. She didn't know for sure though, since she didn't know if Aurora had told anyone. If anyone was coming though, she hoped whoever it was would find her soon. She knew she was losing the battle.
Once Damon got to the location, he saw the wolfsbane plant in different areas. Apparently, she thought a wolf would be coming to the rescue, rather than a vampire. Because it was only wolfsbane, it didn't affect his vampire senses. Since it didn't affect them, he could smell the familiar scent of blood. Then, after figuring that out, he began digging as quickly as he could.
Ten minutes later, he had the box unburied. He then opened it to reveal an injured and pale ex-vampiress. He then gently got her out and gently pulled her into his arms, supporting her head. He could tell that she'd lost a lot of blood. Her lower stomach was heavily bleeding, and her thigh artery had been opened up. He could also hear her barely breathing with a slow heart.
"Stay with me, Katherine," he said, not wanting to lose her, but knew he was close to doing so. He then gently took her jacket off and used it to tie around her thigh wound, trying to stop her from bleeding out any further. He then got to his feet with her in his arms, before blurring out of the Bayou to get her taken care of by Freya.
Please, stay with me, he thought, as he blurred there, knowing she couldn't digest vampire blood last time she was human. He also knew Freya was the only person right now that could save her.
Half an hour later, he entered the compound and blurred over to the table that wasn't far from the stairs. He then gently layed her down and used a close by jacket as a pillow for her head.
He rested a hand on the side of her face, looking down at her.
"I'm sorry. I wish I would've known sooner that you were in trouble. If you can hear me, don't you dare give up. I'm right here."
Freya entered after finding and dealing with Aurora, only to find Damon with quite an injured Katherine. When she saw that, she rushed over to them, but before she could say anything, he informed her, "I need you to do anything you can and help her."
"I'll do what I can," she assured him.
Kat found herself in a dark but peaceful place. She knew she wasn't dead, though. Not yet, anyway. She knew it, because she could hear Damon telling her not to give up and that he was there. For once in several years, he was there for her. He'd rescued her. She just had to do what he asked her, but she was tempted to stay here. She was tired of fighting. She wanted to give up and stay where it was peaceful. However, she knew she couldn't do that to Damon.
After getting ingredients and healing her wounds, she began to try and magically bring her back. As she did, Damon kept talking to her, hoping it would urge her to fight and come back.
Twenty minutes later, Freya stopped her magic when Damon heard her come back. Then Freya went upstairs.
"Kat," Damon greeted when she woke up and saw him.
She gave a smile and sat up.
"Damon. Long time no see."
He helped her up off the table, but she didn't have much strength after she'd lost a lot of blood because of Aurora, so he put an arm around her, helping her stay on her feet.
"Let's get you taken care of."
After she was fully recovered a couple days later, they patched things up, and they eventually got back together again.
