Flareon Light had nodded off while the cruise ship moved. His body warmed up, and the gentle sounds of water made him feel calmer than he had been ever since the other night. From sleeping under his bed's white covers, he decided he wanted to live out near the ocean. He always dreamed of living somewhere quiet and secluded, but he had an extra parameter on it now.

A gentle voice woke him from his stupor. Helifted his head.

Manaphy Jewel stood in the doorway. She bounced a little on her feet with her hands behind her back.

"We're hitting land in a little bit. You alright?" Jewel asked.

"Mmm, yah," Light said.

"We set up some seafood up in the lobby for you. We're just an hour or two away."

"Oh. Thank you," he chirped. "I'll, uh, be there."

Jewel disappeared in the time it took for Light to blink.

When the Manaphy left, Light rubbed his back against the mattress one more time before standing up. He hopped down on the floor. The shock going up through his arms and legs woke him up and helped him realize that he was a bit hungry.

Light pushed the door open and back until it clicked. He kept staring down at the floor, recalling the path he took to get here. It only came to him as he was walking back.

The short wooden table stuck out from the empty room. It was the only furniture other than the velvet carpet on the ramp leading up to the wooden double doors.

On top of the table, there were huge bowls filled with cooked fish, and Light didn't recognize any of it. All he had seen before were he brown, white, and crunchy looking textures in magazines. With how many bowls there were, all of the food probably weighed more than he did.

An empty white plate was already set aside, presumably for him, at the edge of the table. Light performed the classic strategy of trying one of everything. His favorite ended up being the rolls. He wasn't sure what they were filled with, but they were covered with soft, heavenly, white rice and were even better dipped in the sauce left out. The hot, and mild flavors danced together in his mouth. He only ate less than half of what had been put in the bowl.

Flareon Light ate fast without realizing it. A sluggish feeling wormed its way into his stomach. If it were a meal, he would be tempted to lay down somewhere, but it would be crappy not to find and thank them for the best meal he's had in a while. He waddled up the ramp and pushed open the double doors just enough for him to squeeze through.

Under the light blue sky and over the deep blue sea, Slowking Chad and Manaphy Jewel glanced back his way from the edge of the deck.

Under pressure from their gazes, Light burped a little puff of steam. Jewel snickered.

"Uh-uhm, excuse me…" Light said. "Thanks for… the, uh, food..."

"Done already?" Jewel asked. "All of that food is for you. Thought it'd take longer."

"I can't really eat a lot at once."

"I caught all of it in like, three minutes. That's why there's so much extra shrimp. I kinda get a little biased when I'm fishing..." said Jewel, giving an awkward smile. "Ah, we'll be there in a bit. So you can do whatever you want. Eat however much you want. Literally. I can fish for more if you want me too."

"I think I have plenty," Light said. "So, how are you doing this… three minute fishing…?"

"I go into the water and grab things and bring them up here. I accidentally grabbed a Tentacool this one time, though... He was nice. He was from a nearby island chain. He-"

Jewel cut herself off when Light grunted. His head hurt. An odd, stinging feeling coming all the way from somewhere high.

"Are you alright?" Jewel asked

"Yah," Light groaned. "So, uhm, what should I do?"

Chad and Jewel stayed silent for a moment.

"You'll have to be more specific," Chad said.

"Well," Light said, "something's heading towards Kaigan, but no one would believe me if I tried to warn anyone."

"Do you have, like, pictures?" Jewel asked.

"No."

"Can you take, like, pictures?"

"Do you guys have cameras?" he asked back.

"As a matter of fact, we do," Chad said. "This ship used to be for… A group of bounty hunters. There are special high-quality cameras used to take videos of or stream encounters with criminals to be sent away and analyzed."

"Live-stream?" Jewel asked. "What if you did that? Then everyone would believe you."

This was good, but not perfect. There would be plenty of explanations for a trail of smoke in the sky. Any normal person would think it's just a meteor, even him from a distance. So he could only warn people when it was down on the ground and in front of his eyes for everyone to see. A little late, but better than nothing.

"Could you help me set that up?" Light asked.

"I'll have it prepared however you want in minutes," Chad said. "So, what's your full plan to deal with… Er."

"It's a Reshiram."

Chad gave an empty stare, then lowered his head. "Reshiram? As in. a Legendary species…?"

"See what I mean?" Light asked. "No one would believe me if I warned them. I mean, you probably don't believe me…"

"I think there are suspicious happenings that warrant an open mind," said Chad. "I mean, all things considered…"

Chad gestured to him with his hand. Light wasn't sure what he meant at first, but then he remembered. His fur was white, and he was a Flareon. His tail, mane, and ruff of fur on his head were gray. Thanks to Light's two different colored eyes, he never looked normal, but he hadn't managed to think too hard about how his "shiny gene" might be something else.

"I didn't mean to insult you, if that's-"

"Oh, it's fine," he said. "So, for the plan, I was thinking if you gave me a camera, I think I could lure it to the beach. There aren't many homes there, are they?"

"None on the side of the beach we're approaching," Chad said. "But, if it really is a Reshiram, how do you plan to lure it?"

"Do you have any flares or anything?"

"Signal flares. I'm not sure how bright they'd be on their own, but we have quite a few."

"Alright," Light said, breaking into a smile. "This sounds good."

Chad and Jewel didn't smile or nod back. Light's smile faded.

"What is it…?" Light asked.

"What about you?" Chad asked. "If you're right, and the Legendary species Reshiram comes down, you can't expect me to believe that you can handle it in battle. You're putting your life on the line, and I'm not personally prepared for a battle like this. I wouldn't be able to help you."

"I can," Jewel blurted.

Chad lowered his face and sighed. "Jewel, no-"

"If it's on the beach, I can like, harpoon it from the water while it's facing him," she argued. "And Reshiram is a fire type pokemon, so its dangerous attacks wouldn't be so bad. In the water, I probably wouldn't even get hit by anything."

"Jewel, you're eleven…"

"And how old is he?"

Chad glanced at Light.

"Fifteen," Light said.

Chad's face fell. His eyes scanned the horizon made of a deep blue sea and light blue sky, then went back to Jewel.

"I won't impose on your free will if you want to help make the world a better place with your actions," Chad said. "But please, no fighting. One act of support, in and out."

"Yeah," Jewel said. "Of course."

"Thank you…" Light murmured.

Chad scowled. Light suddenly felt the urge to retreat back from his gaze, so he turned and walked back down inside.
