Amity headed home through the forest, she forced her smile away with great difficulty. It was not easy considering she was internally squealing with happiness. The girl she liked asked her out. "Finally!" Even the emotional strain Boscha caused her could not destroy the happiness she was experiencing. She managed to compose herself while entering the Blight Manor. The heavy, wooden, double door closed behind her and she walked in quickly. The thick, pink carpet muffled her footsteps. She hoped to go upstairs to her room without being noticed but just as she was half way up the stairs she heard a feminine fake cough. She knew that sound all too well. It was supposed to make her pay attention. Amity did not even turn around, freezing mid-step, placing her hand on the smooth, waxed baluster to ground herself. Her green-haired mother was hiding in the shadows of the entrance hall. The short woman, wearing a pink shirt and a white vest stepped out of the shadows. Her cold blue eyes took in the image of her daughter. The messy hair, wrinkled, pink tunic, ears twitching nervously.

"Hello, Amity." She spoke softly, yet her voice sent chills of fear through her daughter's body. "What is it I heard that you behaved erratically at the Academy?" She asked. Her voice was warm but Amity knew that voice all too well. It was the 'I know best' voice.

"Nothing I couldn't handle, Mother." Amity replied with the same amount of emotion in her voice. Which was exactly zero.

"Then I suppose I was wrong, was I?" Odalia asked and her question increased Amity's heart rate. The older woman brought her hand to the pink oval attached to the necklace she had pinned to her elegant pink shirt. "And here I thought I felt you losing control over your emotions." She added and kept staring at her daughter who did not move an inch. "And they were so very… unBlight." She added and smiled viciously knowing how that adjective taunted her daughter.

"I will excuse myself, Mother." Amity said coldly, fully composed with fake confidence "I have a rather important day tomorrow and I wouldn't want to fail, now would I, Mother?" She added, playing the game her mother taught her.

Ignoring her mother's presence, Amity quickly walked toward her room, passing empty rooms, focused only on her goal. Little did she know that Odalia was holding her now glowing pink gem tightly. She let it go when she heard a scream of agony coming from the room upstairs. Odalia then proceeded to the cabinet, poured herself the finest Apple Blood in the Boiling Isles and went back to her office, satisfied with herself.

What happened upstairs was a completely different story. A different emotional charge. Amity closed the doors of her bedroom feeling relieved, thinking she made it through without any consequences. She slid down to the floor, her back resting on her door while she smiled with a child-like joy. "Oh Titan! Luz asked me out!" She could not believe her luck, closing her eyes, replaying everything in her head. She smiled widely, showing off her fangs. It was so unbelievable. She had no idea when it happened that Luz from just "some human" became a person she wanted to spend all of her time with.

However before she could think about all that happened that day, she felt a strange pulsating pain in her chest. She quickly got up, recognizing that feeling, and ran toward the dresser where she looked into a small mirror. The gem attached to her choker shone and she suddenly felt excruciating pain coursing through her body. "How could I be so dumb! To think I slipped past her…" Amity thought, falling to her knees, trying to fight the pain off, taking a hold of her chest. Soon everything went dark and again very white, her hand found the wall to feel some support. She yelled in agony when she felt her eyes burn in pain as if she would dip them in the Boiling Sea. The young witch clenched her fists on her head and pulled her hair, trying to ground herself. "Breathe! Like Eda taught you!" She knew exactly what was happening. Her mother was punishing her for letting herself feel. More importantly, for letting herself feel vulnerable emotions in the public place such as Hexide Academy where people could have considered the Blights weak.

"You will learn your lesson…" Amity heard her mother's viscous voice echoing in her mind while she banged her head on the wall trying to get rid of it. Her green hair fell over her face. Suddenly an all too familiar situation flashed before her eyes. Boscha was standing above her, creating a Bard spell to deafen Amity's hearing. Then punching her delicately yet hard enough to just overstimulate her body. The same feeling went through her body over and over again. The memory never made it to the moment Luz showed up. Instead it was reset and replayed again.

"No…" Amity growled, slowly, weakly getting up to her feet, wobbling. "No… No more…" She growled quietly while she tried thinking of Luz who grounded her today, took care of her, was patient with her, and supported her along the way. Amity has conjured in her mind that happy and honest smile, long bangs, full lips crooked in a mischievous grin, and all features she loved about Luz. "Loved about Luz?" She repeated in her mind surprised with herself but accepted the warm feeling it created.

That thought brought severe consequences. Suddenly everything went black, and Amity found herself back at St. Epiderm High School. It was an evening two years ago. Her mother asked her to meet a gentleman. She was eating a meal during their so called date and numbing herself with hard Apple Blood. Amity was counting seconds for it to end. A bright flash interrupted the vision then everything went black again. Amity's body was now covered in cold sweat. She knew what was coming next in the memory of her past. The new vision appeared from the darkness of her mind. She was the observer, standing on the right side of the queen sized bed. The silky covers were thrown to the floor covered with thrown down clothes. Amity looked down at her own limp body while the man above her enjoyed his time. Over and over again. Time after time. He did not care that Amity was bleeding heavily. Said witch's eyes were empty, tearing down, staring into nothingness. She froze, waited for it to end. It was the longest night of her life. It has changed her forever. If she was closed off before that night turned her into an empty shell of who she was before.

"Enough…" Amity whispered, not being able to look at that memory any longer. "ENOUGH!" She repeated, yelling, and everything went dark again. The surroundings have changed. She was in the pitch black well of her consciousness, surrounded by images flashing in white, attacking her senses all at once. The images presented the most resented images from her life, taunting her mind, forcing her body to relive the same pain once again.

"Half-a-witch Willow!" The teen voice yelled at her best friend against her own will.

"Don't touch me!" An even younger version of Amity exclaimed. She looked at the memory of her younger self, running away from the stage.

"EDRIC!" Another one flashed before her eyes when she was shown a memory from her brother's funeral, the black coffin was magically incinerated.

"Mommy, please!" Another version of Amity cried out when she was once again locked away alone in a dark room, overwhelmed with emotions. "It hurts!" The room filled with flashing lights burning her sensitive eyes.

"You can't sell me like this!" Teenage Amity yelled at her mother.

"You don't need that!" Odalia's voice echoed through Amity's mind, showing her an image of her mother, discarding the anti-anxiety elixirs in the kitchen sink. "Those Healers just mess with your mind, putting stupid ideas in your head." She heard her mother's voice again. "Look what they did to you! You are fat as a trash slug!" Odalia said and Amity felt an urge to follow her brother's footsteps. She stopped eating, and kept starving herself for the sake of her mother's approval. She did everything for her approval.

The next day Odalia walked into Amity's bedroom to find her daughter lying on the floor, stuck in her mind, drooling, messy hair stuck to sweaty face, her limbs stretched in a strange, agonizing position, whimpering incoherently, her lower lip trembling, and the pink marble on her choker glowing slightly, coloring her eyes with the same glow.

"I did not pay you as much attention as I should in the past few months and look what happened… You just can't function properly without my supervision." The older witch said while she stood above her daughter taking in the sight. "But that will not happen again. I will make sure you will behave now." Odalia added with a triumphant smile and left. She knew this would bring the expected results. It always did force Amity to behave again. "She'll never learn…" Older Blight thought, happy with herself, and left her daughter alone in pain.

When Amity was done with her story Luz's eyes were pitch black and the tears were silently running down her cheeks. Her breathing was shaky but the human did her best to control her emotions. She knew that it was a top priority now to support the witch. Amity did not even notice Luz's black eyes as she kept on staring at the floor… too ashamed of herself, of her weakness, feeling disgust, and hate. She was told from a very young age that everything that happened to her was her own fault. Including being closed away in a dark room when she was getting too emotional. "No one will want this emotional mess around. Either take it under control or prepare for a lonely life!" Odalia's voice echoed.

"Amity…" Luz finally spoke up, not realizing her voice was a reverberating growl. She placed her tan hand on a pale one, not realizing a few feathers were sticking out from underneath her skin. This was when Amity noticed what her story did to the human. The human was barely controlling herself. The black eyes, feathers sticking out from underneath the skin on her hands, long talons in her hands worried the witch. Amity looked up at her face and noticed long fangs making their way out of Luz's mouth. "Tell me how I can help you…" The human spoke in a deep but supportive voice. Despite her feral appearance she was still Luz, caring for the witch in front of her.

"Oh my Titan, Luz!" Amity exclaimed, interrupting the human "Are you okay?!" She asked in a higher pitch, panicking that the human might turn into the Owl Beast but she did not let go of the tan hand. Luz took a deep breath, and looked down at the green-haired witch. A soft smile appeared on her lips for a mere moment and her body shivered a little. For a moment the pitch black eyes were shining with gold irises and then turned back to the brown ones that Amity adored so much. Luz took another breath. With that her feathers and talons retracted. "Self control… Yeah, I'm getting the hang of it." Luz thought, recalling what Eda told her last night.

"All is good…" The human said in a shaky voice but mustered a small smile. "I tend to get over emotional with backstories." She added and placed a warm defeathered, human hand on Amity's pale cheek, and looked deeply into the golden eyes. "I want to help you. Please, tell me, what can I do?" She repeated the question "Odalia cannot treat you like this… She shouldn't ever treat you like this." The human spoke softly but Amity's breathing quickened. She leaned into the comfort of the touch but was still visibly scared. Luz did not know what scared her. Was it the human's curse? The torture she just survived? The mother who inflicted it upon her? Or was there something else?

"I'm sorry…" Amity whispered, trying to calm her breathing down "I never wanted to drag you into my mess but… The spell is too powerful for me to fight it off…" Amity admitted, closing her eyes while she kept leaning into the comfort of Luz's hand. "Oh, this is not the time, woman!" The human scolded herself when she started thinking about kissing the witch. "But Viney!" Amity suddenly said, snapping her eyes open. "She mentioned something about knowing a person…"

"I will talk with her." Luz interrupted in a serious tone "We will break you free, I promise." She added and suddenly felt her mouth running dry while her heartbeat quickened. She looked down to Amity's lips. Oh, those lustful, pink lips. "Control yourself, Luz!"

"Thank you… And I'm sorry…" Amity said while she leaned a bit closer to the human "For being there for me, for standing up for me… You don't have to do that…" She added and Luz was feeling a magnetic pull toward the pale witch. "Is it wrong to want her closer?" Amity thought while Luz could not move her hand away from the witch's face. Instead she caressed the cheek with her thumb.

"Amity…" Luz whispered when their faces were barely inches away. The shorter girl placed her pale hand on the human's hand, approving the gesture. Luz could have sworn that the touch left sparks dancing on her skin. The feeling was magical but at the same time it scared Luz. She has had crushes before but she has never felt anything like this. This was something completely different. "I-I have to go…" The human whispered in a rush of panic and got up, moving away from the witch, scared she might do something against her will. Amity acted quickly. "Never again…" The witch thought about the times she was too scared to follow her desires. She got up as well, grabbed Luz by her arm, and yanked her, pulling her in close. The human's arms enveloped the shorter girl automatically in a warm embrace while the witch's hands rested on her clavicles.

"Please… don't go." Amity pleaded, looking up into brown orbs looking down at her with surprise mixed with desire. "Since when is she so straight forward?" The witch felt the human's heartbeat increase its rate while she slowly and delicately pushed Luz towards the bookshelf, trapping her in, gazing with need, looking down from eyes to lips hoping her actions would be returned. Amity placed her pale hand on the tan cheek causing the other girl to exhale a shaky breath.

"Amity…" Luz whispered with need dripping from her lips. She dreamt about kissing the young Blight for so many months now, never actually believing this would ever happen. Not after promising Willow to stay away from Amity. Yet, here they were. Hidden away from the whole world, just the two of them sharing this moment as if nothing bad ever happened to either of them, as if they have never been hurt before. Luz leaned in closer, almost entirely closing the gap between them. She now knew what Amity has been through, she wanted that last step to be her own decision. The human felt the witch's lips delicately brush over her own. It cost Luz all her self control not to pull Amity close in a fierce kiss. Her first kiss as a matter of fact. Not when the human was not sure if that was what the witch really wanted.

"Luz… My past doesn't define me. I'm here now." Amity cooed in a low, calming yet seductive voice, barely pulling away when she realized how Luz was holding back, trembling in her arms as desire surged through her. A quiet chirp echoed in the human's head. "Shut it birdbrain! It's not that simple!"

"I don't want to rush you… You've been through so much…" Luz tried to oppose, partially scared of the big step, scared of her own impulsivity, scared for the witch in her arms who never wanted to be touched before she met the human.

"Luz… I know my past was painful and… and I don't know what my future holds but I know I want you in it." Amity whispered hoping that would let Luz know how much she wanted that "I have never felt like this before. Around you I feel… understood. I want to hold you, I adore looking into your eyes, and… I want to be close to you. It scares me but in a good way, Luz…" She added and a quiet purring sound erupted from her throat, sending low vibrations across her chest. "Wow, that's new." Amity thought, surprised she felt so relaxed and comfortable she actually started purring.

That was enough for Luz to be convinced to take a leap. There was no past, no future, just the present, just Amity in her arms, wanting the exact same thing. While the human placed her hand on the pale cheek and caressed it delicately with her thumb, holding the witch close with the other hand, Amity moved her hands to the back of Luz's neck, guiding her in. After what seemed like a whole eternity they closed the gap between their lips and melted into a delicate, sweet kiss. Luz's thoughts went quiet for the first time in forever while they both whimpered quietly, letting out the desire that built up in their bodies during the past months. The witch could have sworn that the touch of the human's lips was sending pleasurable electric shocks through her entire body as she melted into the new experience.

She considered kissing Luz on many different occasions, driven by desire she did not understand, yet she never imagined it to be such a magical feeling. Amity's hands traveled up to the human's head, digging her fingers between the soft locks and pulling her closer in but Luz pulled away for a moment and looked down into the witch's eyes. They analyzed each other, their eyes roaming their faces. Before Luz could have said anything, Amity pulled her back in with more force, causing the human to yelp quietly. The kiss became more needy, more fervent as the pent up tension was set free. The witch bit Luz's lower lip with her fang and enjoyed the moan that came out from the human's throat. With this encouragement the taller girl swooped Amity in her arms, turning them around, and pushing the shorter girl into the bookshelf. Amity gasped with pleasure at the surprising change but it was exactly what she wanted and needed.

The witch delicately licked the seam of Luz's lips, surprising the human who pulled away once again. Luz could not form a coherent thought when she noticed Amity's eyes darkened with desire. Their kiss deepened, tips of their tongues met hesitantly causing both women to moan in pleasure as the experience sent a pleasurable, yet almost painful chills to their loins. Within seconds their tongues felt more comfortable with each other and danced together in perfect harmony. Luz enjoyed the feeling of pale hands pulling her hair and clothes down to have the other body even closer. Human's hands roamed down to the hem of the witch's short shirt, finding their way to a pale body, tracing up delicate skin.

"Luz!" Amity gasped loudly when she felt a warm hand tracing the skin of her back. The human used this interruption to pull away and dive into the witch's neck. Kissing and biting it with vigor, groaning frustrated at the choker that seemed to be grown into the pale neck.

Amity hated being touched but she was never touched like this before. She melted into the sensation, closing her eyes, letting herself go. All her nerves lit up at the feeling of a warm human. Witch's ears slanted down, burning with blush, her eyes rolled behind closed eyelids, and without realizing what her body was doing she bucked her hips forward into Luz's tight. The built up pressure looking for release hit her hard, emanating from her core. Without any thought, lost in her own pleasure, Luz pushed her thigh into Amity in an answer to the witch's desire while she nibbled on the Blight's ear, making sure to avoid a pointy earlobe.

She pulled the witch closer in with a hand hidden deep inside the mane of green hair, while the other one was still on her bare back under her shirt. Amity's hands got lost under Luz's striped tee, as they made it to the human's bare back, scratching it, leaving marks of pleasure, feeling dents in the flesh where the scars marked the human's back. Their bodies seemed to react on their own, answering the call. Amity moved her hips forward again in search of friction. Luz moaned, loving the sensation of the witch barely controlling herself. She could feel the warmth of the shorter girl through their trousers. Amity pulled Luz's face forcefully into another deep kiss while her neck was already longing for the sensation of the human's bites and kisses. The witch bucked her hips again. Luz answered with a thrust. "Yes! Again!" Amity thought lost in pleasure while she could not stop the moan escaping her throat. She had not noticed Luz was now in perfect sync with the witch's movements. They both could feel the pleasure rising up in their bodies. All those months of 'accidental' touches, leaning into each other, trying to sneak into an embrace was hitting them back with all the might. "So… good!" Amity thought with a whine when she felt a familiar sensation building up in her core as she pushed again into Luz's leg. The human moaned loudly into the witch's lips which caused the pale girl to shiver with pleasure.

"Luz!" Amity moaned loudly, sending chills of pleasure down the human's spine "A-aa, LUZ!" She barely controlled herself "Yes! Luz… Please!" She was rambling, lost in the feeling "I can't! Don't stop!" She confused the human who pulled away ever so slightly, watching the witch's frantic movements "STOP!" She yelled out a command with the rest of her self control and Luz pulled away as if she was burned with a boiling rain. Amity was flushed red, her neck was wearing bite marks all over, her chest was heaving, panting, trying to calm herself down but her hand never let go of Luz's shirt.

"Oh, Titan, Amity. I'm so sorry… I-I-I didn't want to… I'm sorry…" Luz rambled angry with herself. Angry, she lost self control, the feeling of heat and slick between her legs did not help as guilt creeped in. Amity pulled the human in, placed a hand on her cheek, and smiled, breathing heavily, noticing the human's pupils were blown wide with desire. That smile confused Luz even further.

"Don't be sorry… It's just…" Amity started with a shaky voice. She took a deep breath for both calm and encouragement and looked into Luz's eyes "If we don't stop…" She hesitated, biting her lower lip. The sight of that sent a tingling sensation to the human's abdomen "I'm too close…" She finally choked out. Luz did not control a wicked grin that appeared on her face. Amity hit Luz's arm playfully. "Don't be so proud of yourself!" She added with fake annoyance as she tried to regain control of her legs.

"I'm sorry, there is nothing I can do about that." Luz said not being able to control her smile, suddenly forgetting about her anger. "Best first kiss ever!"

"You're such a dork…" Amity said, returning the smile, trying to calm her breath. Luz moved in even closer and hovered above the pink lips.

"Yeah…" She whispered and moved slowly toward the witch's pointed ear, teasing her "But I'm your dork and you can have me in ways no one else can." She whispered and a chill ran through Amity's spine causing her ears to twitch. The witch gasped and her hands clenched on the human's flannel.

"That would be true…" Amity agreed with a wicked smile and pushed Luz away to look into her eyes. "It's not that I don't want to… I do… very much…" She tried to explain but was too embarrassed to say anything more.

"It's okay, you don't have to explain if it's too hard." Luz calmed the witch down with a delicate hand squeeze of reassurance. Amity searched the human's eyes with fear and found nothing but support.

"It's just… difficult." Blight tried once again "It's difficult because I have to always control myself. Even at home… I can never let go. If you know what I mean…" Amity explained the best she could and Luz's eyes went wide in shock while the witch blushed in crimson red. "Titan, she could never… that must have been… oh wow…" Human's mind was racing. "Even with the Library's defenses she would know…" Amity added and watched Luz's reaction.

"Amity…"

"I'm sorry, I need to go… Before she realizes…" She interrupted, looking down, angry she could not stay with Luz, angry she could not be with her like a normal witchling, angry she had to hide, like having a girlfriend would be a crime.

"Amity…" Luz lifted the witch's face with an index finger and the atmosphere in the hideout shifted "It's going to be alright. I'll talk with Viney, we'll figure it all out. Just try being patient and be strong." She vowed and noticed how Amity's features lit up a bit. She kissed the shorter girl again, letting her melt into the touch, but this time delicately, sweetly, more in the 'this is a promise' kind of way.

"A-all right…" Amity agreed nervously, pulling away to grab her bag. Her legs were still a bit wobbly from the interrupted activity but she had to ignore it, hide it like every other emotion or feeling.

"Oh, another thing… Before you go, Amity." Luz said before she let the witch leave the room. Amity turned around and lifted her eyebrow, shocked with the human's serious expression. "If you go missing ever again I'll be coming for you with all I've got. I should have done it this time around." She said in a dead serious voice. Amity smiled. She believed Luz. That made her feel safe. She walked over to the human, kissed her chastely one last time, and then smiled widely, showing off her fangs.

"Who's my awesome girlfriend?" Amity asked with a purr and Luz smiled so widely she felt her cheeks burning.

"Me! That's me!" Luz exclaimed, throwing her hands in the air overjoyed, trying to make Blight laugh.

"Dork…" Amity whispered and left the hideout. "My dork…" she thought, leaving the library. As soon as the bookshelf closed behind the witch Luz felt her legs tremble and she fell to the floor.

"Oh, crikey…" She whispered with a smile never leaving her face.

The following day came rather too quickly in Luz's opinion. She spent the night researching the Oracle Magic trying to find any way to disrupt the spell Odalia placed on her daughter. It was still something she could not believe someone might do to their own child. "I wouldn't do that to Boscha!" Luz thought while she went through the list of side effects and consequences of prolonged exposure to the Entanglement Spell. However, now she was sleeping soundly in her study desk, her head was lying down on the pile of books, and she was slightly drooling when she felt a hand on her shoulder.

"Not sleeping!" The human yelped, shooting her head up. She turned toward a warm chuckle. "Oh… Hi, mom…" Luz murmured when she noticed Eda standing next to her with a cup of black bean brew in her hand.

"Here, drink this, Kiddo. You look like you may need it." Eda offered with a smile and Luz accepted gratefully. The witch sat on the human's bed and looked at her daughter with slight concern. "Are you okay? I have noticed that lately you're getting feathery more often…" She asked, looking seriously at Luz.

"Yeah… I may have been forgetting my elixir more often." The human admitted sheepishly.

"Luz…"

"But there's been so much going on lately…" Luz started rambling with excuses "And I noticed that attempting to communicate with Beasty may bring better results than drinking potions…" She added and noticed that Eda just massaged her temples trying to understand Luz's point of view.

"Okay… I know there's no changing your mind…" The witch started "But try doing both, okay? At least for now." She asked. "Especially when you are tired. Which is quite often lately." Eda added, looking sternly at Luz to remind her that she was mostly losing control of her curse when she was tired.

"You mean communicating and drinking potions?" Luz wanted to be sure she understands. Eda nodded in confirmation. "Okay… That would actually be the most logical approach." Luz said with a faint chuckle. She set the empty cup on her desk and ran her hands through her hair with a deep sigh.

"Sure it will." Eda said as she got up. Her brows frowned when she noticed what Luz was reading about. "Is that for some extra homework?" She asked, already knowing the answer.

"Well, no." Luz admitted. She looked up at the golden eyes of her mentor and with a slight hesitation came clean "You were right about Blights… That is about Odalia. I'm looking for a way to free Amity." Eda's eyes went wide in shock, her pupils shrank, when she noticed what her daughter was researching.

"Don't tell me… She placed an Entanglement Spell on her own daughter?!" She exclaimed but her voice sounded like a whisper. She looked down at Luz with fear in her eyes. "Promise me you won't do anything rash!"

"Don't worry, I'm taking precautions." Luz smiled, got up from her desk and went over to the drawer where she had a fresh set of clothes. "Additionally, today I'm seeing Amity's sister in law who knows more about that stuff. You do remember Viney, right?"

"Luuuz…" Eda frowned "I know you're worried about Boots but you must be careful. This is high level magic." Eda said, hoping Luz would hear her out "You are a cursed human in the Demon Realm…" Luz turned to Eda with an overconfident smile.

"Yes, Mom! I'm a cursed human in the Demon Realm, founder of Glyph Magic, first multitrack student at Hexside, apprentice and a daughter of Eda the Owl Lady, a Clawthorne…" She rambled with her arm lifted to the ceiling, imitating the heroes from her books. Eda just smiled as she has now seen how much her adult daughter resembled the kid who stumbled through the portal all those years ago "And an awesome girlfriend at that!" She finished with finger guns and Eda just laughed.

"Oh, I see you made some progress in that regard." Eda smiled showing off her gold fang, teasing her daughter "Good for you, Kiddo!" She added and hugged Luz "Now get ready if you don't want to be late for school." She said pulling back and leaving her daughter's room. "Oh, yeah… I made some progress…" Luz smiled dreamily when she thought about Amity's soft lips and her hips bucking into her body. The painful chill ran down her lower back and she felt herself getting wet. "Focus, woman! Get clean and go to school." She scolded herself and started to get ready. The smile never left her lips.

When she made it to school Willow was already waiting for her by her locker. Her short hair was sticking out in strange directions, her round glasses were shining eerily, she kept her hands in the pockets of her yellow jacket, and she scanned through the corridor carefully. Her lips smiled slightly when she noticed Luz trotting toward her.

"Oh, someone's in a good mood…" Willow commented, lifting her eyebrow and smiling viciously. "Libraries do that to people, huh?" She teased.

"Yeah…" Luz admitted sheepishly.

"Spill." She demanded showing a bit too much of a desire for gossip. Not really gossip since it was first hand information. But still.

"So I have good news and bad news…" Luz stated while she started telling Willow what she had learned yesterday. She skipped the parts that may have been too personal but left enough for Willow to get furiously angry.

"Do you think that's what she did all those years ago?" She asked in a shaky voice "She forced Amity to say all those words, dispose of our friendship…" She questioned. "Is that why Amity keeps saying she needs to be stronger… braver…" Willow continued saying more to herself than to Luz. The human placed a hand on the witch's shoulder and smiled warmly.

"Don't worry. We'll get her out of this." The human said with confidence "It's a one hundred percent Luz promise." She added with a smile. Willow nodded and tried to get a bit of Luz's optimism. But when she looked up at her friend she noticed Luz blushing and her goofy smile faded into a more cocky one. Her eyelids went down a bit and her pupils widened. Willow did not need to turn around to know who her friend saw in the distance. Yet, she did anyway. The young Blight was going through the school corridor. She was dressed in a long sleeve black tunic, burgundy trousers and heavy boots, echoing through the corridor with every step. The gem of the choker on her neck glowed slightly. Neck that Luz kissed and bit just yesterday. She blushed even more and bit her lower lip, recalling that memory. She hoped for some sign but there was none. Amity sent her the most dead and cold look she has ever seen. That scared Luz… she was scared for Amity. "Is it just me or did her eyes glow pink?" Luz asked Willow and her love struck expression faded. For those who did not know those amber orbs too well everything seemed normal but Luz had seen them up close long enough to know that this magenta glow was not supposed to be there.

"Oh, that was not just you… I have seen that before." Willow admitted.

"It's bad, right?" Luz made sure.

"Very bad…" Willow confirmed. Luz wanted to skip classes and go directly to see Emira and Viney but she knew Amity would not forgive her if she would endanger education for her. So instead she grabbed her books and turned to go to the classroom.

"Oh, how sad…" Both Luz and Willow heard a familiar voice they both hated behind them. They stopped in a half step and turned around. Boscha just smiled viciously. "To think it was enough to have one chat with dear old Mama Blight to set Amity straight…" She said and she leaned in closer to both Willow and Luz. They tried to not react to triclops' taunting. Plant witch looked away from her opponent and noticed Skara in the back, hiding behind her locker. "Weird…" Willow thought but now she had other things to focus on.

Luz's mind on the other hand was racing. Her thoughts were folding one on the other creating a loud chaos while she tried to comprehend what she had just learned. "Weren't they supposed to be friends? Who rats you out to an oppressor? What kind of friend lets you be tortured? Gah!". A loud screech rambled in her head as if the Owl Beast was trying to ask her to tune down a notch. It was just enough to push Luz to act in fury.

"YOU!" Luz yelled in a deep growl, pushing Boscha into the locker, grabbing her Grudby jacket tightly. She held the Team Captain pinned, her feet dangling above the floor. "You are the reason Amity was tortured?!" She kept going and the only reply she received was Boscha's victorious smile showing off fangs. "You are the reason she can't…"

"Oh, please… Aren't you a bit overreacting, human?" Boscha taunted and Luz heard her heartbeat pounding in her ears. "A bit of lights and sound is not torture." She added, a smile never leaving her lips "And besides she is now set back straight and she doesn't meddle with subspecies and half-a-witch…" Her monologue was interrupted with a sound of her jaw breaking. Luz could not hold it in. Her eyes went black as night and after the first punch she threw another to Boscha's stomach, next one to her ribs. "Schreeeeech!" Rambled through Luz's mind. This time she understood it.

"Shut up! She deserves it!" Luz spoke to the Owl Beast, her hand was pounding with each beat of her heart as the blood dripped from her knuckles.

"Luz!" Willow exclaimed and she grabbed her friend to face her. The image of black eyes, long fangs, and pure fury on Luz's face made her feel scared of her friend. Even though the witch knew the human would never hurt her. Luz set herself free and punched Boscha again who was barely standing up. Willow has never seen her friend so angry. "Enough!" She ordered and pulled Luz close in by the shirt. "Amity would not want you to hurt yourself, please…" She added knowing that mentioning Luz's girlfriend will help soften her up. Luz growled but knew her friend was right. She panted letting the anger subside. "Breathe, Luz…" She added softly. "Just like that, she's not worth it… breathe."

"I will skip today if you don't mind." Luz said, anger still in her trembling voice but her features were returning to normal. She did not care anymore about the classes. In those few moments everything changed. Willow just nodded knowing that Luz needed to act, distract herself from what she knew, what she just learned. "Titan! You never think things through!" Luz scolded herself. She knew that attacking Boscha, and at school at that, may have serious repercussions. Yet, right now she could not focus on that. Her mind was ringing 'save Amity' and that was all that mattered to her.

Luz ran out of the Academy and into the forest leading to Bonesborough. She ran as fast as she could, not caring for anything else. She felt her legs burning, her breath getting shorter. She had so much anger, raw emotional energy, she needed to burn it. Even if she hurt her legs in the process. When she felt she could not run anymore she stopped in the middle of the forest and yelled at the top of her lungs, facing the red sky. Time after time until she was out of breath. She wanted to punish Boscha and Odalia. She could not imagine hurting anyone the way they did. Of all of the people who hurt her in her life they would seem the worst. She heard a delicate chirping in her head. She felt as if she could almost understand that.

"I guess we're both worried about her, huh?" Luz said out loud and a short chirp confirmed her speculations. "Then let's go find a way to save our girl." Luz added, feeling a bit more confident knowing she has Owl Beast's support, and started running again towards the town. She did not even realize she was talking to the resident of her body as if they were best of friends, understanding, and supporting each other. It was not long before she was pounding on the blue door of Emira's quarters above the Clinic. There was no immediate answer so she pounded again, this time harder. By the time Viney opened the door the hinges were barely hanging.

"Wow, wow, calm down, Luz. You're scaring the patients." She greeted the human, immediately noticing how distressed she was. "What's wrong?" She asked moving aside to let Luz in.

"Is Emira here?" Luz asked but then she realized she needed Viney more "Doesn't matter. Amity said you said you know someone specializing in Oracle Magic. Someone who could help?" Luz said, facing the brown haired witch. Her face was flushed from the run and her eyes were running wild as if she could not focus on looking at one spot.

"Okay, Luz. Firstly, calm down." She said helping Luz to a couch, letting her sit down. "Secondly, yes I know someone. You do too. Why would you ask?" Viney asked as she raised her eyebrow.

"Hun! What's all that ruckus?!" Emira yelled from the other room.

"It's me, Luz Clawthorne, Em." Luz said loudly "Amity's in trouble." She added, frowning her brows just as Emira was entering the room. Blight's face paled down.

"What did she do to my sister?" Emira asked as she walked over to Luz.

"Entanglement…"

"That bitch!" Viney interrupted Luz. "This is bad, so, so bad!" She added, getting anxious.

"That's not all…" Luz started, took a deep breath, got up from the couch, and started rambling rapidly, pacing around the room, gesturing around. It was as if she was talking more to herself, letting out all that worried her about the current situation. She told them everything she knew so far. What Willow told her about their childhood, what Amity told her about the two days she was missing, facing her past experiences, what Boscha said about being sent by Odalia to overwhelm Amity's senses to have a reason to punish young Blight. By the time she was done, Emira was crying silently, Luz's eyes were painted black again, and Viney was sitting without any sign of emotion on her face. She was frozen with fear and lack of understanding. "How could anyone be that cruel?" Young Healer could not understand.

"Luz…" Viney broke the silence finally. "Please, take your potion. We have patients here." Then she turned to Emira "I'll get Barcus and we'll find a way. There must be a way…" She added and got up. In an automatic movement she left the clinic leaving her wife with Amity's girlfriend. Luz obliged without hesitation, fetching a small potion vial from her bag and emptied it in a single swig. Emira needed a few more minutes to compose herself but finally managed to calm her breathing and wiped her tears away.

"Listen Luz… I don't know if you know that…" Emira started and Luz's attention moved to the green haired Healer "But you are rather important to Amity."

"Oh, I certainly hope so. Otherwise it would be awkward being her girlfriend." Luz stated, hiding her emotions behind humor. It worked like a charm. Emira laughed wholeheartedly. "You really don't talk much, do you?" The human asked.

"Since I left the Blight life behind me, Willow was not the only one cut away from Amity." She explained with an angry expression. "We managed to catch up some time ago but we too need to hide…"

"Did Odalia…" Luz hesitated "Did she do to Edric what she's doing to Amity?" Emira just nodded and tears rolled down her cheeks again. "I'm sorry!" Luz exclaimed "I shouldn't have mentioned him."

"No, Luz. It's okay, really." Emira said, wiping her face again "It just still hurts. One woman destroyed the lives of so many people… and he was my twin. We were inseparable." She explained and rubbed her palm. An excruciatingly long silence occurred. "So…" Emira finally spoke up as her mind was yelling with curiosity. "Those black eyes of yours… You didn't have those back at Hexside. They surely have to do something with the way you met Amity?" She enquired. Luz scoffed quietly.

"Yeah…" She admitted. "I don't know if Amity told you about my Owl Beast curse…" She added scratching her neck in embarrassment. Not that she was embarrassed of herself or her decision to lift the Owl Beast's curse from Eda. On the contrary. Yet, she was not used to talking about it. She was used to keeping it a secret.

"She did mention something…" Emira admitted "But I was hoping to hear the story from the source." She smiled a bit and Luz blushed.

"I'm sorry… I'm not used to talking about it. Amity's the first person to know… besides Eda of course." Luz explained sheepishly and looked down. She adjusted her position in the chair and sat cross legged.

"I have to admit, I was surprised when Amity sent me a message that day… she must have been really triggered by something to go against everything she was taught." Emira started frowning her brows, feeling concern for her sister.

"Well…" Luz looked Emira in the eyes "Boscha broke the vial of my elixir…" Luz connected the dots of what Amity told her about Odalia getting rid of her medicine. "I don't know what happened next because I left." She said looking at the wall, recalling memories of that day "Next thing I knew, Amity was helping me not Beast out at school…" She added and a shadow of fear went through her face.

"I'm happy she did… I know how much courage it had to cost her." Emira said knowing that Amity had her eye on the human for longer than she was willing to admit. Just as Luz was about to comment on that the doors to the clinic opened and Viney returned with a dog-like Demon.

"Em, Luz, I brought Barcus!" The brown haired witch shouted from the door and they all moved to the living room to talk comfortably.

"Okay… Let me get this straight to make sure I understand everything you said and what I read correctly…" Luz started after carefully listening to Barcus for over two hours "Entanglement Spell is a forbidden blood magic spell derived from Illusion healing spell, which used to be used to heal people from their bad experiences?" Barcus nodded. "And to break the spell we need the caster's blood?" Barcus barked in confirmation. "And the blood of a person removing the spell?" The human added.

"Bark! Yes." Barcus and Viney confirmed. "So the books did not cover everything." Luz thought.

"That's why it was finally forbidden. Especially with all the side effects." Emira added and Luz growled in defeat, placing her head in her hands.

"And here I thought it's gonna be simple…" Luz murmured. "You thought a nice girl would follow you, accept you the way you are, want you, and you wouldn't have to fight for her? Come on Clawthorne, you know your luck better than that!" Luz scolded herself with a low growl but she smiled at her thoughts. "I will not give up on Amity." She spoke up so everyone could hear her. "Just tell me exactly how to break this spell, step by step." She addressed Barcus and listened carefully.

"Mix the blood of the spell caster and the spell raiser." Barcus said while he looked at Emira. Luz did not notice she shook her head as if she was letting him know that Blight was not the one who would do the spell raising. "Tricky part is getting the first one but then… If the hold of the spell is strong then trust me it will be excruciatingly painful. For both of you. I heard about a case where the person under the spell did not survive lifting it." He continued barking at Luz.

"She was under the spell for at least four years… maybe more." The human said. "I need to contact her, somehow let her know what the consequences are. It has to be her own choice. She's been deprived of a choice for too long." She added and Emira looked at Viney. They could not believe Amity had the luck of meeting someone so considerate.

"The control gets weaker as the caster is further away…" Barkus pointed out and Luz's face lightened as if a scheme popped into her head.

"Meaning if Odalia would, let say, leave Bonesborough, she would not be able to control Amity?" Viney asked.

"Yes… but she'd still be able to know what she was doing if she attempted to search Amity's memories after her return. There's no guarantee she'd do that. Also the further away she is the better. Considering how long Amity was under the spell. " Barcus agreed.

"We need to give Amity the fighting chance then. She will decide what to do during Odalia's absence." Luz said her companions noticed a dangerous, mischievous spark in human's eyes.

"I know that look… What are you planning?" Emira asked hesitantly.

"I think it's time for Eda to have her payback and ask her a favor." Luz said with a grin tying her hands on her chest. "After all… she IS an agent of chaos."

Amity could not believe her luck. After spending the afternoon with Luz in the Library's secret room she was confused with all the emotions she felt. When she told the human about everything she has gone through, the memories she was forced to relive again, how her mother induced the mental torture, how she was getting overwhelmed with too many sounds and lights around her, she expected Luz to run for the Knees. But no, Luz not only stood her ground. She stood up for the witch, she supported her, and wanted to make sure Amity will be safe and never experience such discomfort again. This was so confusing. Amity realized she was grinning widely at the thought of the taller human. The way she kissed, touched her… Young Blight felt something turn in her abdomen, sending chills to her core. She was so scared… in a surprisingly good way. This was all new and even though she was always bad with change she wanted more.

Amity still had nightmares and flashbacks from the night during her time in St. Epiderm when her mother traded her virginity for business gain… "Thank Titan, I skipped that detail when I told Luz about it…" She thought, taking a deep breath while the guilt crept in. Amity did not want to hide anything from the human but she was scared that even though she knew Luz might not act on her emotions then she was most certain the Owl Beast inside her would not be so easy to tame. She chucked a bit thinking how much has changed in the past months, how Luz learned to sort of live with the curse in symbiosis. But then again it was just Amity's luck… she met a wonderful person, even though a cursed human with a heavy baggage of her own she was still not able to act on her emotions or follow her desires. Go on a date, be silly, enjoy their time together.

"I will be leaving for the next few days." Odalia informed Amity two days after she had last talked with Luz. "There's a conference regarding Abomination Intelligence in the other Titan. It would seem Titan Trappers are interested in top trier purchase…" She continued about business as if it was the only important thing in the world but Amity's thoughts were already somewhere else. She missed Luz so much but with the way Odalia was keeping a close eye on her daughter there was no safe way to meet up again.

"I understand…" Young Blight finally spoke up, keeping her mask of a perfectly composed daughter.

"Perfect. In the meantime, please make sure the books are taken care of. I leave the management of our main branch to you." She added, looking sternly at Amity who did not react.

"Of course Mother. I will take care of everything." Amity assured her in plain voice with eyes looking to the floor. She knew that's how her mother preferred her. She always hated when Odalia was leaving business on her lap. She was doing it for many years now, not letting a child just be a child.

"Very well then. Keep your Scroll close, I will check in with you once I make it to the destination." Odalia said and Amity just realized her mother was already packed and ready to leave. "Typical, no notice, no previous consulting… just deal with reality." Amity thought, hating that but did not let herself show any emotions.

"Will do, Mother." Amity said and looked as Odalia picked up her coat and grabbed a bag. "Good luck, Mother."

"Oh, Mittens." Odalia said with a smile that caused the young Blight to feel sick. "I don't need neither luck nor your sentiment. You still need to work on those… emotions." She added and left the Manor.

Amity honestly expected to be punished for wishing her mother luck but it did not come. She was standing still in the place where she bid her mother farewell, heart racing, still waiting for punishment to come but the longer Odalia was gone the more Amity believed that the punishment was not about to happen. Yet, she still felt the urge to fulfill Odalia's request to care for the main branch of the company.

Amity finally turned around and went into her mother's study to take care of the books. Just like she was ordered to do so.

It has been a couple of hours when Amity realized she has been taking care of Odalia's books even though she never wanted to. Not to mention the taxes were not taken care of properly, it was all a mess. Suddenly she felt a strange clarity in her head, she did not feel in a very long time. As if someone lifted the fog from her mind. The sun had set many hours ago and the young Blight had no idea what time it actually was. She just had one clear thought in her head: "Luz…" Amity jumped away from the desk and ran out of the study.

She went into her bedroom to grab a few things, packed her bag and left the Blight Manor in a hurry. She felt a strong but joyful pounding in her head. The feeling of leaving the Manor behind exhilarated her. She felt as if for the first time in forever she was doing something for herself. Before she realized she was running through the forest with a smile on her face, her green mane flowing wildly in the wind. The Owl House emerged from between the trees, making Amity smile in content.

"Snore, hoot, hoot, hoot-sleeping…" She heard a house demon snoring and just now she realized how late it was. She decided to sneak past the annoying bird but nothing was ever easy for her. "HOOT!" Hooty exclaimed when he noticed Amity trying to open the door. The witch quickly silenced him by squeezing his beak.

"Shut it, bird-tube!" She growled "I'm trying to surprise Luz!" She exclaimed, whispering viciously. She heard the demon muffling something through its squeezed beak. "What?"

"Hoot! I just said be careful! So touchy, Titan. Geez!" Hooty rolled his eyes.

"Careful?" Amity echoed.

"Yeah, Luz knows how to throw a puuuuunch." He added, turning his head upside down, emphasizing the last word but Amity disregarded his warning. "She probably just hits annoying bird demons." She thought when she went into the house. Eda and King were nowhere to be seen so she walked upstairs knowing a way to Luz's room all too well. Before she made it to the stairs she could have heard Hooty already 'hoot-sleeping' again. She walked over to the entrance of Luz's bedroom and heard some moans. And these were not the kind of moans she heard in the Library the other day.

"It's not your fault!" Luz screamed in her sleep and her body seemed to be fighting some nightmare. The covers were lying on the floor. The human's body was subconsciously fighting something. Amity quickly let down her bag, discarded her boots, and jacket before making her way to Luz. "I'm sorry!" Luz exclaimed again. Her chest was heaving with labored breaths.

"Luz…" Amity whispered, sitting down at the edge of the bed, and placed her cold, pale palm on the human's heated forehead. Luz moved abruptly at the touch, frightened with the sudden caress. The witch turned on the light in the small lamp on the desk. Luz's voice became distorted as she moaned again. Her brows furrowed and face grimaced as if she was in pain. "Luz, it's time to wake up. You are safe now." Amity spoke gently while she tried to delicately shake Luz awake.

"AAAAAAAGHHH!" Luz yelled her lungs out, sitting up with her eyes open in panic, swinging a powerful hit Amity barely managed to dodge. "Note for self, listen to a bloody bird-tube." Amity thought but was already focused on her girlfriend.

"Luz! Luz, it's okay." Amity said, moving closer to the human "It was a dream, everything is alright." She cooed in a soft voice, her hand traveled to Luz's cheek, rubbing it softly. The human's eyes were still roaming the room, not yet comprehending reality.

"Amity…" Luz whispered in disbelief mixed with relief. Her eyes glistened with tears. Amity could not bear it. She leaned in and hugged Luz tightly letting her know she was safe now. The witch's hand traveled back to the human's head and she held her close. She started rocking them and Luz let herself tear down. She was not sobbing. Just tears rolling down with a shaky voice. The human's hands finally wrapped the witch and let herself calm down.

"Yes, I'm here, you're safe Luz." Amity whispered into the human's hair and felt strong, tan hands clenching her shirt while she let herself melt into the hug.

"I-I'm sorry…" Luz mumbled and Amity rolled her eyes and pulled the human away.

"What are you sorry for?" The witch inquired with a soft smile "For having a nightmare when I just happened to sneak into your bedroom?" She added and Luz's face showed that the human just now realized that Amity is in fact in her bedroom in the middle of the night. "Odalia left so I came here." Blight answered an unasked question and Luz just smiled goofily. They hugged again, just happy to be close to each other. The time may have stopped still while they held each other tightly. As if both of them were scared the other one might disappear if either of them would let go. "If I may ask…" Amity finally broke the silence and a hug. She pushed back to look into Luz's eyes, caressing the human's face again. "What was your nightmare about?" She asked hesitantly. "Of course you don't have to tell if…"

"It's okay, Amity." Luz interrupted and looked away. "I have this recurring dream from time to time." She admitted and looked back into Amity's golden eyes. "I had many bad things happen to me. Even back at the Human Realm. But I often dream about Eda attacking me as an Owl Beast." Luz finally explained. She retracted her hands and rubbed her arm in fear of resentment.

"Luz…" Amity whispered.

"And she felt so bad… It was like a week after she legally adopted me and she was so beat down. It took such a long time for me to heal…" Luz was letting it all out. "I see how she looks at me now. I mean she never made me self conscious about my body but I see she hates herself whenever she sees the scars on me. The scars she inflicted. And not even her! The Owl Beast. She was just… She lost control." Luz was rambling but Amity let her. "That makes me scared I will lose control. What if I hurt someone I care about?" It seemed she never had a chance nor a person to share that part of her life. "What if I'll hurt you?" Was left unspoken.

"Is that why…" Amity tried to ask but Luz was still going.

"That's why I decided she will never have to go through the same pain ever again. Having her bile sac drained was nothing compared to the guilt she was living with. I did the research, I met with shamans, healers, curse specialists and they all said the same. I can take the curse but not get rid of it." Luz went on.

"Luz…" Amity finally placed both palms on her cheeks and looked deeply into her brown eyes. "It's okay." She whispered in a soft voice and the human finally stopped ranting. "Things happen. It was neither your fault nor Eda's. I'm sure that Beasty also did not want to hurt you. Sometimes reactions to stress can be… disastrous." Amity said and Luz could not believe her original point of view.

"But… I'm broken…" Luz opposed.

"No, Luz. You are not. If anything you are amazing, warm, caring… and still somehow you manage to be a dork!" Amity tried to lighten the mood. Luz laughed a bit and let one lonely tear fall down her cheek.

"I hear what you are saying but I'm…" Luz hesitated. Amity stroked her cheek, wiping the tear away and to give her more courage. "I'm scared you won't want me." Luz finally admitted, looking away from Amity. "Once you get to see me…" That shocked the witch. She never thought of Luz as a person so self conscious about her body.

"Luz… Listen to me very carefully." Amity said and forced Luz to look at her. "Your body shows the history of things you have been through…"

"Yeah… that's the problem." Luz murmured.

"Do not interrupt me." Amity said, a bit annoyed. She took a deep breath to find strength to speak from her heart and continued. "The things you have been through made you who you are today. They made you this caring, warm person who wants to spend time with me, fight for me. Despite the problems I have." Amity said and Luz's eyes went wide in shock. She never thought about her trauma in that way. "And if you are so scared about my reaction…" The witch added and she leaned over to a night lamp, directing it to light up the room a little bit more "You can show me the scars you have nightmares about." She added with a face that will not take 'no' for an answer. Luz gulped.

"Um… okay…" She replied hesitantly, swallowing hard. "This is it. She'll be disgusted and buh-bye having a girlfriend." The human thought, turning around slowly, and facing her back toward Amity. "Better sooner than later…" Luz slowly removed her shirt over her head with shaking hands, leaving it on her arms to cover her breasts. Amity's eyes went wide in shock. She has been presented with five deep scars pinking the tan back of the human. She felt the bottom of the scars the other day, she had seen them briefly a few months ago but she really looked at them for the first time. The creation of those scars must have been excruciatingly painful but it did not make Luz any less beautiful. On the contrary. Amity found them… mesmerizing.

"May I…" The witch asked, lifting her hand up but could not find the words to finish the sentence. However, Luz nodded. Amity placed her pale hand on the human's back and traced the scars with her fingers. They were so deep and wide. Luz had to lose a bit of muscle mass with that wound. But Amity still did not see what the human was so insecure about. She moved a little bit closer. "You are beautiful…" The witch whispered to the round ear and kissed Luz's shoulder where one of the scars began. The human shuttered underneath the touch of the soft lips on such a delicate piece of skin.

"Amity…" The witch heard her name whispered in a heated manner. With that encouragement she hugged the human from behind with her left hand and continued trailing kisses across the five deep scars, letting fingers of her right hand caress the markings. Amity felt Luz's hands on her forearm and she started trembling to the sensation. The witch stopped and looked at the human. Their eyes met when Clawthorne turned toward the Blight. She pulled the witch into a needy kiss and dragged her on top of her body while she laid back on the bed. Amity was not fighting back. Oh no, she moaned in pleasure and surprise. She was thinking about those full lips since the moment she left the Library almost three days ago. The witch licked the seam of the lips asking for more. She did not have to wait long. Luz pulled in and allowed a deeper kiss. Their tongues showed the longing they felt for one another. They both moaned needily at the first contact, enjoying the pleasure of their bodies being together again. The pleasure was even greater knowing they were getting to know each other's darkest secrets. Secrets no one else knew about them. They felt exposed in the best possible way.

"Mmm… Luz…" Amity moaned and pulled away. She grabbed the human's hair forcing her to expose her neck. The tug on the scalp sent pleasurable chills down the human's spine, making the woman mewl. The Blight dug down hungrily. She started with delicate kisses that turned into long licks. She finally moved down to Luz's pulse point at the crook of her neck and delicately bit her, letting her fangs leave red marks but not breaking the skin. Oh, but how she wanted to bite her, leave the mark of her feelings at the tan neck. Mark her as her own, let her magic seep into Luz's blood stream. It caused the human to whimper as it seemed like all her insecurities were long forgotten. Amity's hands started to roam across the tan body causing it to shiver, pleasure surging through her nerves. The witch's lips moved toward the human's left arm where she found another scar and trailed it down with her tongue to where the shirt was covering the woman's breasts. She did not see that coming but suddenly it was Luz who bucked her hips into Amity's body. It made the witch smile against the heated skin, feeling happy that she was not the only one wanting the other so badly.

"Amity… please…" Luz started begging when she felt her head spinning with pleasure. Her hands were not able to touch the witch, still caught up in the shirt covering her chest. Amity straddled her thigh and pushed into the human's core. "Ah!" Luz exclaimed in a low voice, feeling pleasure erupting from her heated core. "You're just wicked…" She added and Amity moved away and looked down in confusion. Luz opened her eyes, pupils blown wide with lust, face painted red with heat. "You sneak in here, make me confess my deepest fears, and then make me feel so good, yearning for more? How do you do that?" The human said with a mischievous smile, Amity has returned.

"What can I say?" Amity purred, kissing the human "You make it too easy to make you feel good." She added and kissed Luz again. They both moaned in pleasure and stopped their ministrations.

"Do you really not mind… me?" Luz did not manage to choke out the word 'scars'. Amity felt a bit irritated by the interruption but she pulled away, taking a deep breath. She sat up on the human's tight and looked down. The night lamp made the witch look scary and eerie.

"Listen very carefully, Luz Clawthorne." She whispered with a cold voice. "I do find you just…" Luz gulped while Amity was eyeing her body "Perfect."

"Huh?" The human was confused.

"In my eyes you are perfect in every way. I don't mind scars. I don't mind a curse. I don't mind anything you can think of because I like you for you. The scars, the curse, the past in the Human Realm… It all makes you you." Amity started her monologue. "My scars are not visible and yet you like me. Despite my quirks, over-sensitivities, past experiences, unprecedented behaviors, family drama, trauma, stuff that no one but you accepts…" She leaned back forwards "So let's agree that we're just weird enough and hurt enough to find each other perfect, okay?" Amity proposed.

"I-I like that." Luz answered with a soft smile. "But will you mind I will put my shirt back on and take you on a proper date tomorrow?" She asked when her confidence had returned. Or at least she pretended it did.

"Of course." Amity agreed even though she wanted to continue, feeling heat between her tights, ache in her abdomen, and tension in her core, demanding to be released. "And will you mind if I…" She bit her lower lip, hesitating "Stay the night? I really want to be close to you for as long as I can." She added and Luz just pulled her under the covers.

"Of course." Luz agreed and kissed her forehead. Amity laid on the human's chest, listening to her heart beat. "I'm so happy you came over." She added and pulled the witch closer in still feeling the heat of their kiss between her legs.

"So weird…" Amity purred, starting to drift away, her ears twitching.

"Mmm? What is it?" Luz asked sleepily, relaxing into the witch's touch.

"Human heartbeat… so calming." The witch explained with a dreamy smile. Luz had no strength to ask what she had in mind. It was not long when they were both sound asleep.

The morning approached soon and neither Luz or Amity could recall sleeping so peacefully. They woke up well past sunrise and the golden rays made it through the window of Luz's bedroom window and across the bed. The human felt warmth heating her face but she just hid herself in the green mane of hair that was covering her pillow. She smiled when she realized that it was Amity, sleeping on her right arm, sharing the bed, being completely entangled in the tan body. Luz just placed her left hand on the witch's waist and pulled her even closer, happy to wake up by her side. The young Blight purred in the crook of Luz's neck, slowly waking up as well, realizing how comfortable she was. For the first time in forever she had no nightmares, no flashes of memories, no rush of panic. She leaned into Luz's touch and delicately kissed the human's neck causing the chill of pleasure in the warm, taller body.

"Good morning…" Amity purred with a soft smile. Luz pulled back to look down at the witch's face. She raised her hand to get rid of some of Amity's hair that was covering her face. The human smiled happily and kissed the witch's forehead gently.

"Good morning to you, too." The human said with a smile. Amity smiled back and she looked at Luz's face enlightened in rays of the morning sun. She was perfect in the witch's eyes. Her imperfections were perfect. The freckles, spots in her brown eyes, the scar over her left eyebrow… Amity could not stop looking at the human, purring loudly with content for the first time in years. "I knew witches purr when happy but I never expected to hear you purr, Blight." Luz teased with a smile, enjoying how Amity's face flushed with blush.

"I-I'm sorry… I didn't realize…" The witch stuttered.

"Don't be sorry." Luz said softly with another forehead kiss. "I adore it." She added with another kiss "It lets me know you are happy and relaxed." The human placed a soft kiss on the witch's lips and pulled back to look at her girlfriend. "I'm glad you are relaxed around me so please don't hide it from me." Luz added and pulled Amity into another hug, enjoying the closeness. "Would you like some breakfast?" She asked, breaking the silence after a while, dragging the witch from her thoughts.

"That would be amazing." Amity said regaining her composure and hugging Luz again.

"You know… you need to let me go if I'm supposed to feed you." Luz said with a smile but she returned the hug eagerly. Blight just chuckled a bit.

"I had no idea you knew how to cook?" She said with a cocky, smug smile while she pulled back to look at the human.

"Well, let's just say there is still a lot you don't know about me." Luz said enigmatically. "Afterall… there are things you don't tell your friend but you do tell your girlfriend." She added with a wink.

"Oh, is that so, Crawthorne?" Amity said, pretending to be shocked. "Color me interested." She added while rolling onto Luz, straddling her hips. She looked down at the human with a smirk, surrounded by a waterfall of green hair. Luz gulped enjoying this view and she placed her hands on Amity's waist. The witch moved closer, Luz felt Amity's heat when her legs spread even wider. "I'd love to get to know every part of you, Luz." Blight whispered and nibbed on Luz's earlobe. The human's abdomen hurt with desire but she was not sure what she was allowed to do. She realized she cared about Amity's past experiences too much to do anything that would hurt her. "Why does she have to be so hot?!" Luz questioned feeling herself getting wet. "But first, let's eat breakfast." Amity said, getting up abruptly, and leaving the bed.

"Oh, now you're just evil…" Luz sighed letting go of the desire growing inside her. Amity just smiled wickedly showing her fangs enjoying the way the human reacted to her.

Amity was served Boiling Isles' version of pancakes which actually positively surprised her taste buds. The griffin egg worked well with the flour but finding a substitute for baking powder was tricky. Yet, Eda helped Luz find it a while ago and since then Luz could experiment with mixing human and demon cooking styles.

"Oh… My… Titan!" Amity uttered, her eyes shining with excitement. "How is that so good?" She asked and Luz smiled happily. "It has no right to be this good!" Amity said and her girlfriend sighed in relief. She was not sure if the witch would appreciate human breakfast but wanted to try anyway, to let Amity get to know her girlfriend a bit better.

"You have no idea how relieved I am that you like it." Luz admitted when she sat in front of Amity and took a few pancakes for herself. "That was my favorite breakfast when I was a kid in the Human Realm. I just wanted to let you get to know me a bit better." Amity looked at Luz with something between shock, sadness and empathy in her eyes. She sometimes forgot that Luz had whole life back in the other world.

"I really love it!" Amity said, finishing her pancake, and placing her hands down on the table. There were still a lot of pancakes on the plate between her and Luz but she did not dare to take more.

"Then why don't you take another? I gave you one just to see if you like it." Luz said with a smile, pushing the plate towards Amity. Her eyes went wide in shock, shifting from the plate, to the human, and back to the food again.

"I-I can have more?" She asked in a whisper. Luz's face went serious.

"Of course you can. Eat as many as you want, Amity. Why wouldn't you?" She asked, trying to show the witch that it is okay to eat. Amity looked down at her knees and she clenched her fists resting on the table. "What is it, Amity?" Luz asked, placing her hand on the witch's hand.

"And what would you do if I would say I do not like it? Not that I don't! Just hypothetically…" The witch asked and Luz had a feeling this conversation is about to take a wild turn toward Odalia's raising methods.

"I'd say that it's okay and I'd prepare you anything you'd ask me to." Luz said with a supportive and warm smile. "Given I'd know how to prepare it and we'd have the ingredients required." She added and with that Amity's eyes glistened with tears.

"I-I had no idea people are actually given this choice…" She said, looking back at Luz. "Thank you for being so kind and patient with me."

"Amity… I don't think you require any additional patience from me. It's just a normal thing for me to respect your preferences and boundaries." That did it. Amity's tears rolled down her cheeks. She did not sob or cry but her tears were out of control. "Oye, Amity…" Luz got up and walked around the table to sit with her girlfriend, and hug her tightly. "Do you want to tell me what you were used to?" Amity nodded hesitantly. She took a deep breath, reached for another pancake and started explaining.

"Well, at the Manor everyone has had their own portion of food. No extras, no leftovers, everything that was served had to be eaten." The witch said as if it was normal. "It's normal to her, idiot… but it's so not normal." Luz reminded herself while she kept listening. "If you did not clear a plate you were just not hungry enough so you would not be given the next meal. No matter how disgusting things were given. Even if you felt like throwing up…" By the time Amity finished that sentence her third pancake was gone and now she placed down her cutlery. She was full and happy with the food. "But I wonder, Luz. How did you learn to cook? Is Eda's cooking that bad?" She tried to lighten the mood to forget about things she has been through at home.

"Actually…" Luz looked down at the table with a sad face. "I was orphaned at a young age." She admitted and Amity felt a pinch of sadness. She reminded herself that Luz now has a family. A happy one at that. "And even before that I had to cook for myself more often than my mother would. She was a doc… A healer so she was often at work. But then again when she needed a healer she did not go to see one." Luz continued. "So yeah… cooking at that time was just a way to survive. But when I came here I wanted to share my favorite meals with my favorite people. So when I noticed Eda and King actually enjoy my cooking it made me so happy I found myself enjoying it as well." Luz said and her expression lit up. Suddenly she felt a warm hug.

"I'm sorry for what you had to go through, Luz." Amity said softly "But it made you a damn good cook!" She added with a smile and Luz chuckled.

"I see you hide your problems behind humor too, huh?" The human said and started to clean the kitchen.

"Luz, please. You fed me, let me at least clean." Amity said as she jumped up.

"Oh, I will not argue with that." The human said, raising her hands in surrender, and let the witch take care of the kitchen. She smiled dreamily while she looked at Amity, bossing herself around the Owl House's kitchen, cleaning plates, pan, and placing the remaining ingredients in the proper cabinets. It warmed her heart. In the past few months Amity got herself very familiar with where things belonged, and she behaved as if she belonged here as well.

They decided to spend the rest of the day roaming the outskirts of Bonesborough. The day was sunny even though a bit chilly since it was already the end of the Scabuary. After watching a small group of griffins caring for their young ones and going through the forest following the trail toward the cliff above the Boiling Sea they finally took a break. They sat down under one of the trees that protected them from the wind and looked at the peaceful view. Amity moved closer and placed her head on Luz's shoulder. The human got a bit surprised by the witch's forwardness but lifted her arm to offer more closeness. Amity snuggled immediately and wrapped her arms around Luz.

"I thought you don't like being touched." Luz finally said as she was just confused.

"I don't like being touched." Amity admitted confusing Luz even further. "But with you it's different. It surprised me as well when I realized I want to hug you, be close to you… I guess it's different when I care for someone…" The witch did not bite her tongue fast enough.

"Oh, so you care for me?" Luz mocked her girlfriend with a wicked grin. "Thank Titan it's not one-sided." She added before Amity could react in any way and kissed the witch's head delicately, inhaling her smell. The witch was just glad she was hugging Luz so the human could not see her blush.

"Can I ask you something?" Amity interrupted the comfortable silence after a while.

"Anything you want, Amity. I want you to know me, you know that." Luz said confidently.

"How… How did you get your scars?" Amity asked not knowing if she was not crossing some boundaries. Luz sighed deeply.

"I assume you mean my back but let me warn you… I have a lot more than that." Luz said, not ashamed of her body anymore. "But these ones bother me because they have a high emotional load." She corrected her position. It was easier talking about her past when Amity was hugging her and not looking at her. "As I told you yesterday, it was not long after Eda adopted me. We were just so excited that we were now family. Weirdest one there is, I'll give you that. We were about to visit grandma Clawthorne but Eda… she was really stressed about the visit. Grandma had a hard time accepting Eda's curse and was always trying to fix her. Long story short she Owled out. I just came back from school and something seemed off… I found her in her room… when I turned my back to tell King… to tell him to run, hide…" Luz was losing her focus, memories flashing in front of her eyes. Amity sat up and looked at Luz. "Oh no, she's judging now! She'll hate me! She'll hate Eda!" Luz panicked but Amity's pale hand on her cheek was calming her down. "Anyway… next thing I knew I was surrounded by a bunch of Healers. I don't really remember much from that. I was losing consciousness every other moment." She continued and Amity took her hand back to hold Luz's. "Eda was so guilt ridden, angry at herself, trying to cut me off, afraid to hurt me again… That reminded me a lot of my biological mother. I was afraid I would lose her too. So I decided I will find a way to make sure she won't have to be afraid she'll hurt me ever again. So when I found there was a way to take away her curse it was a no brainer for me…" She started rambling fast with short sentences and her breathing increased.

"Luz…" Amity whispered. "How are you such a good person? I admire your resolve and courage…" She admitted with a smile and the human blushed.

"I… I am not a good person…" Luz said grimly and looked away. "Owl Beast is not the only demon I have."

"From what I have seen you are getting better at communicating with your demon." Amity said with a smile "And from what you have told me, support makes all the difference."

"I guess… But I still don't get what different screeches mean. It's like it's just a lot of noise and I can't focus on anything… unless we both want to focus on the same thing." Luz said and Amity could not stop thinking how fascinating that is. "But let me ask you something in return… I don't want to spoil our date so you don't need to answer." Amity nodded in agreement. "How come you told Willow she's a half-a-witch? She was your best friend for so many years… Was that an act?"

"No…" Amity interrupted. "That was not the act. It was the spell." The witch said and she touched her choker. "The morning of that day I woke up with this choker around my neck. I… I barely remember Odalia placing it on me but since then I could have heard a constant presence of my… of Odalia." She explained with sadness seeping out of her. She hugged her knees, leaning into Luz in a fetal position. "When I got to school it was like I knew what I was doing but it was as if my body was not under my control. I knew what I was saying, what I was doing but I could not do anything to stop it." It was Luz's turn to squeeze Amity's hand in support. "When I got home that day I tried to take it off but it was like my skin had been sawn to it. It got easier with time, I learned how to live with that… fog over my mind. Especially when I could clear it after a few hours in a Library."

"Good news is that now we know how to take it off…" Luz said quietly and Amity's eyes shone with hope. "I didn't want to talk about it today, I wanted today to be happy…"

"This makes me happy!" The witch exclaimed, sitting up with excitement, facing Luz "Please, tell me more. The only moment my mind is clear is when I am away from Odalia's influence, please, Luz." Amity could not control herself with the prospect of being free.

"The only thing you need to know are the consequences. Worst case scenario is that you can die." Luz said with a serious tone but the witch sent her a shocked look.

"Do you really think that dying is worse than living as someone else's puppet?" Amity asked and Luz realized she had been selfish. Yes, death was the worst case scenario for Luz or Emira but not for Amity.

"I'm sorry… I did not think about it…" Luz apologized.

"Don't be. Just tell me how I can get rid of it." She turned away from Luz and looked hopefully into the horizon "I could be free… I could stop controlling every single emotion I have, every single thought, desire... I could stop feeling her anger and disappointment in me… no more corrections…" She rambled helping Luz realize what Amity has been going through on a daily basis.

"Oh Titan, I had no idea… I'm so dumb for not realizing it sooner." The human said not believing how oblivious she was. "Idiot, she was being tortured whenever she did something wrong but she was also stripped of all of her individuality… of everything that makes her Amity." She scolded herself. "It was not a one time thing when you disappeared, right?" Luz asked just to be sure. Amity nodded.

"Before she casted this spell she had to be with me the entire time. Physical abuse helped her get past mental defenses." Amity stopped for a moment, thinking back. "That's why she sent Boscha to hurt her…" Luz realized "She was doing it quite often when I was a kid. After casting the spell she could just let the orb do all the work." Amity admitted "But I just thought that's how parents discipline their children…" Luz could not believe what she was hearing. This wonderful witch had no idea how a supportive, healthy relationship looks like. She had Odalia at home and Boscha at school.

"Didn't your father ever stop her?" The human asked finally realizing she has not heard anything about Amity's father. Ever.

"Oh…" Blight was surprised with the question. "I haven't seen him in years. I suppose he's always working… He wasn't much of a parent figure. Or any figure for a fact." She explained and that made Luz feel even worse. She threw herself towards the witch, getting on her knees and hugged her tightly. "Luz?" Amity yelped in surprise with eyes wide in shock.

"Amity…" Luz whispered into the witch's hair. "I know this is sudden and our relationship is totally weird, between my curse and your abusive parents, but I promise you for as long as you'll have me in your life, in any shape or form, I will not allow anyone to hurt you. I will always support you and help you if only I will be able to." She promised and felt Amity's hands wrap themselves around her as well.

"Thank you Luz… for coming into my life." Amity whispered and Luz just chuckled a bit. The witch pulled back to look at the human's face in confusion.

"Technically, you were the one who came into my life. You literally ran after me." Luz added and enjoyed seeing Amity blush like a tomato.

"Whatever…" She punched the human's arm delicately but smiled nevertheless. She was happy they found their way to each other. "Heeeey…" Amity said with a suddenly changed expression. "Oh, I sense something wicked." Luz thought when she noticed that smile. "Since the Manor is empty and I know the Owl House pretty well already, would you like to see where I grew up?" Amity asked with a smile. "Go with Amity? To the empty Manor… alone with Amity…" The human's mind was racing, bringing very inappropriate thoughts to her mind. Her face blushed and a wide grin appeared on her lips.

"I'd love to!"
