Luz had a really hard time sleeping that night. For the longest time she was trying to figure out what happened with Amity. "I mean, I get trauma… I really do. But the way she left… It was not like her. Not like the Amity I know." Luz reasoned with herself. She finally fell asleep when the moon stopped shining through her window and even Hooty's snores died down.

The alarm clock's yell woke her up after just a few hours of sleep. She threw it at the wall, breaking it into dozens of pieces, meeting the fate of the previous models on the floor. "Like mother, like daughter." Hooty thought while he watched Luz through the window, making sure she woke up.

"What do you want, Hooty?!" Luz growled when she felt the Demon watching her.

"Geez! I just wanted to check in on you. Your GF left so suddenly…"

"Thanks for reminding me!" Luz barked at him, not noticing how her voice got distorted but realizing she was taking out her anger on Hooty. She finally got up and took a deep breath. "Sorry, Hooty. I am just as confused as you are. I'm really worried about her." She explained but Hooty retracted himself from her bedroom and returned to his post. After all, he was responsible for the safety of the house.

Luz was hoping she would get some explanation once she would meet with Amity as she promised. She got ready to leave the house, packed her bag, and left for the Academy. She was still feeling anxious. She really wanted to support the witch but despite that she also wanted to understand what happened. Why did the Blight push her away and leave without any explanation. Luz sat down by the Library's entrance once she made it to her and Amity's meeting spot. She still had time. Her written exams will not start in a while.

"Have you been waiting long?" Luz was dragged out of her thoughts by a familiar voice. Yet, not the one she hoped for.

"Too long, Willow." The human said with a grumpy voice without turning toward her friend. The witch sat beside her and pushed her gently in hope to lift the human's mood up.

"Come on! Maybe she just overslept and ran directly to class…" Willow offered but Luz did not believe it. The human took a deep breath and told her friend what happened yesterday, what Amity told her about Skara, about Boscha showing up during her Beast Keeping exam, and what got her worried later that evening. Willow looked away and sighed.

"Well… I don't want to worry you but you did get a lot of attention yesterday." The witch said. "I mean out of all the witches in the Realm you had to pick up the Blight, didn't you?" Willow teased Luz and the human blushed, smiling shyly.

"In all honesty she picked me." Luz said with a smile, thinking of her girlfriend. A warm feeling spread across her chest. She felt Willow pushing her again.

"Come on! No more moping. You'll probably meet her after this period." The witch offered, getting up. "Come on, I don't wanna be late for the exam." She added and Luz could not argue with that.

As soon as Luz was done with her Plant Track exam she bid her friend farewell and left towards the Abomination Track homeroom. Willow was not about to stop her. "Like that ever worked." The witch thought bitterly while she looked at her friend running off, her bangs and flannel fluttering as she sped up.

"Where are you, Amity?" Luz whispered to herself when she noticed the last of the students leaving the classroom were not Amity.

"Ah! Miss Clawthorne!" The abomination professor approached her. She raised her eyebrow not knowing why he would ever want to talk with her. "I'm so happy you came here on behalf of Miss Blight." He said with a joyful expression. "On behalf?" Echoed in Luz's mind. "Since she's the best student, and really an abomination prodigy, I understand that her absence must be for a very good reason." He started but Luz was already panicking "Absence? She did not come to school? At all?!" Her mind and heart were racing, dissociating. "Do let her know she can take the exam in the second term and it will not be considered a failure…" He said but Luz was not hearing him anymore. She only heard a deafening pulse in her ears. "Miss Clawthorne, are you listening to me?" He asked but Luz already turned around and ran. She ran as fast as she could until she caught Willow in the Plant Track homeroom.

"Willow!" Luz yelled, gasping for air when she bolted in, paler than ever, her eyes frantic.

"I guess she's not here…" The witch said worryingly when she noticed the human's expression who shook her head slowly.

"I don't want to burden you, Willow…"

"I'll help." The witch interrupted with a comforting voice.

"Just inform Emira and Viney… their Clinic is downtown…" Luz started but Willow shook her by her arms.

"Luz! I know where it is! I will tell them what you told me… You are going after her, aren't you?" She asked to have a better understanding of what was about to happen.

"I promised her… I won't leave her…" Luz said as she started visualizing a plan in her head. She heard a quiet chirp echoing in her consciousness. Before she could react to the Owl Beast she heard a voice behind her.

"Oh… missing someone?" Both Willow and Luz turned to face Boscha. Willow let go of Luz's arms and watched her friend tremble in anger. "Don't worry…" Boscha said, walking into the class in a superior manner looking down at the human even though she was a head shorter. "I'm sure she won't be coming back to the Academy. Well, not after all that Odalia learned about her daughter's unBlight behavior." She added with a vicious smile showing off her sharp fangs. Luz threw herself at Boscha, grabbing her by the jacket and lifting her up in the middle of the classroom. "Oh, this is a new level of anger." Willow thought scared of the human's behavior.

"What did you do?!" Luz roared and her voice became distorted. She did not notice her teeth turned into sharp fangs and her eyes were slowly filled with black, her ears were slightly pointier than they should be, and her fingernails grew into sharp talons. "WHAT… DID YOU… DO?!" Luz howled again and Boscha's expression faded. She was scared. Really and honestly scared. Even more than the time when Amity attacked her with all the might of her fire magic.

"W-what are you!?" The pink haired witch demanded to know, looking down at Luz's change in facial features, trying to break free of her hold. The human threw her across the room, destroying one of the plants. The triclops hit the wall with her back hard and slid to the floor.

"I have no time for this…" Luz said in a low voice and took a deep calming breath. Her features slowly returned to normal.

"You go ahead." Willow said with confidence, knowing Luz had herself in control. She then drew a green spell circle while her eyes shone in green light behind the round spectacles. "I will have a talk with her." She added and the vines entangled Boscha in a crushing hug. "Now… where were we the last time we were interrupted?" She addressed the bully.

Luz ran through the forest as fast as she could. She needed to get to the Owl House to grab her stuff, to prepare. She could have sworn her feet were barely touching the ground as she was approaching the house. Hooty opened the door without questioning the hurry. He has never seen Luz like that. Angry, panicked, tears unknowingly trailing down her cheeks, pupils shrunk to tiny dots. She made it to her room and started looking for her box where she kept a stack of pre prepared combat glyphs. Luz's room might have been a mess but she knew exactly where her gear was. She ran toward her wardrobe and took out a belt with multiple, small compartments. Each one for a different glyph type. In front she kept offensive spells and in the compartments closer to her back she had defensive and healing glyphs. "I will come for you with everything I've got…" She recalled what she promised Amity. Once she considered herself ready she ran down to run to the Blight Manor.

"Kid, what's wrong?" She noticed Eda entering the house. At first she was concerned, seeing Luz at home as she thought she would be still taking her exams but then she noticed how pale and anxious her daughter was. "Fighting gear?" Eda noticed. The witch walked over to Luz and placed her hands on the human's shoulders. "Oh, Titan. She's trembling."

"Amity, Mom…" Luz tried to explain but anger closed off her voice.

"Calm down, tell me what happened." Eda asked, trying to help the human but she was beyond arguing with.

"She's missing… she left yesterday suddenly… promised to meet in the morning… never showed up…" Luz was rambling, her eyes looking somewhere into the emptiness in front of her. Probably already seeing all worst case scenarios.

"That would make sense…" Eda mumbled and that brought her daughter back.

"What do you mean?" The human asked, afraid to hear the answer.

"Well… everything was going according to plan, Odalia was eating up the bullshit about making great sales when suddenly she vanished." The witch started sharing her story "King asked around, some people say she received some kind of a message, some say she has seen something on Penstagram. Either way every witness concludes the story the same way." Luz felt an enormous wave of guilt. "I should have stopped Amity from showing off… but I was so happy just being out in the open with her…" The human thought and felt tears coming to her eyes. "She used a teleportation spell and disappeared." Eda finished her story.

"Oh, no…" Luz whispered.

"It must have been before midnight here." Eda added and looked again at her daughter "I came back as fast as I could but I see I am already late."

"That would explain the sudden change in Amity's behavior…" Luz murmured, moving away from the older witch. "This is all my fault, I should have stopped her… We should have hid… but I was just so happy…" Her thoughts were out of control.

"Luz!" Eda shook her daughter, snapping her out of the spiral "It's not your fault! You were happy, you shouldn't feel guilty, you were just having fun with Boots." Eda said, eyeing the human's mark peeking from underneath her tee "What do I always say? What should kids do?"

"Just be kids?" Luz understood Eda's point.

"Exactly! So stop beating yourself that Odalia's a piece of shit who doesn't let her daughter be who she is!" The older Clawthorne said and a longer pause filled the living room.

"Mum… I don't want you to get involved but please," She faced the witch in front of her "Get Aunt Lilith. It's time for Odalia to face authorities."

"Lilith?!" Eda exclaimed. "With how stuck up to the rules she is you will need to get super fool proof evidence."

"The evidence will be me taking care of that damned spell once and for all." Luz said, almost growling when her anxiety turned into anger. "And they say the Owl Beast is a curse!" She exclaimed, raising her arms in frustration. "Chirp!".

"All right! Take a deep breath." Eda tugged her daughter into a tight hug. "Just promise me you'll be careful." After the initial shock Luz returned the hug.

"I promise."

"I will come with Lilith as fast as I can. Just try to not get killed in the meantime." Eda said, looking down at her daughter's face. "And tell Boots I say 'yo'." She tried to lighten the mood.

"No!" Luz opposed. "Please don't come. I can't lose you!" She hugged again even tighter. "I can't lose another mother…" She added, hugging the witch tightly again and Eda understood.

"I will stay in the back but let me be there for you, Luz…" Eda pleaded. She felt Luz balling her crimson dress in her fists and finally she felt the human nod in agreement. "Now go." She pulled her daughter away. "Save her." She added and Luz's brows frowned. Her expression changed in an instant. "For all the people I couldn't save before…" The human thought, running out of the Owl House. Eda looked at her daughter's figure disappearing in the distance. "Be safe… Kid." She whispered.

"Hoot?" The house Demon asked, making himself known.

"Owlbert! Come to me!" Eda called in her palisman with an extended arm. Her golden eyes looked at the house demon. "Hooty, lock the house. Keep an eye out for the Blight Manor. If anything goes sideways you can have your way. You know the plan. I'm going to get Lilith."

"Lulu!" He exclaimed while Eda hopped on her magic staff and left. Hooty obeyed the order the moment Eda disappeared in the sky. He was not distracted by bugs or birds. He knew his best friends were counting on him.

Luz was running as fast as she could. She tripped a few times on some roots but did not care. Her heart was pounding hard. She was so angry at herself. How could she think Amity behaved so coldly yesterday because of her? "Titan! I should have known! So stupid!" She scolded herself and ran even faster. "Chirp…" A soft sound echoed in her head. She had a feeling the Owl Beast was trying to tell her something comforting but she could not understand it. Not with the anger filling her head. Suddenly Luz came to an abrupt stop when she made it to the Manor. The view still intimidated her. "It's just an empty building with a lot of bad memories." Amity's voice echoed in her head.

"I can't go through the main gate, now, can I?" She questioned out loud and decided that she should start with Amity's bedroom. She remembered the view from her balcony well. "It was the last thing I looked at before we…" She blushed at her thoughts. "Not the time for that, Clawthorne!" She growled at herself and ran to the side of the Manor's fence. "This should work…" Luz thought, placing a plant glyph on the ground. The vines helped her cross the tall spiky fence. "There…" She spotted the balcony from Amity's bedroom. "Chirp?" She heard in her head. "Yeah, I see that all right…" Luz agreed that flashing white light in Amity's room was not a good sign. The human placed another plant glyph on the ground and while she was being lifted up she prepared two ice glyphs in her hands. She activated the first glyph in her right hand and it created an icy sword which she used to break the lock of the balcony door. As soon as she hopped into the room she activated the second one and the rain of icy spikes blasted the blinding, flashing lights. It took her a moment to regain her sight. There were at least ten large light bulbs, now broken, hidden in compartments in the ceiling. "Really? They designed the room just to torture a person?" She wondered but her thoughts were suddenly interrupted. A soft moan of pain was heard behind the bed. Luz blinked her eyes a few more times and noticed familiar boots on legs behind the bed. "Amity!" She gasped and ran toward the witch. She quickly covered her mouth with her hands to not scream when she looked down at her girlfriend.

"H-help…" Amity whimpered between moans of pain. Her head was tilted backwards, her hair was a tangled mess, stuck to her sweaty face. Luz could hear how dry her throat was while her lips were parted in pain, showing off her fangs. The golden eyes, staring somewhere into the emptiness were red from tears and bright lights, the pupils barely visible. The choker on her neck glowed in bright pink light. She was still wearing yesterday's clothes but they were ripped in a few places. As if someone would cut them or as if the beating she took torn the clothing. The witch's limbs seemed to be bound by some invisible thread. She was lying like an animal waiting for slaughter. Luz could not believe anyone would do that to anyone, let alone their own child. "I have to get her out of here… NOW!" The human thought, slowly regaining her composure. She walked over to the immobilized witch and kneeled by her side. Luz placed her palm on Blight's forehead. "She's burning up…" She thought and then cleared the witch's face from the hair stuck to the sweat covered body.

"Amity…" The human whispered. "If you can hear me I want you to know that I'm taking you away from here. Just fight this a little while longer." She added hoping that would give her girlfriend more strength. "Willow had Emira informed and Eda is fetching authorities. It ends today. I'll do whatever it takes to set you free…" The witch moaned in pain again and Luz felt anger boiling under her skin. Yet, for the sake of Amity's comfort she could not afford to show it. "And scoop!" Luz said, lifting the witch up in her arms. She looked at her girlfriend and felt a sting of pain. "How… why… such a warm, loving person…" Her mind raced, not making any sense with the overwhelming emotions. The pale body did not go limp in her arms. It was tense with jolts of pain originating from her neck. The human wanted to leave through the balcony but with the way Amity's body was behaving she decided against it. She just needed to sneak out and wait for the authorities. "That could not be that difficultRight?!" She thought while she left Amity's bedroom careful to not bump the witch's head on the doorframe. She remembered the way out. The corridor's floor was covered with a thick carpet which helped her sneak past the other rooms. She did not make a sound. "Almost there…" She thought when she was passing the living room. Amity and the twins from the family painting were looking down at her. Luz was almost out of the living room, so close to the entrance hall when she heard a small lamp's click behind her. The light shone upon the figure of a middle aged witch with green hair.

"And where do you think you are going?" The cold voice asked. "First you violate my daughter under my roof and now you come here to kidnap her?" She asked but even though the supposed offenses were strong ones she did not show any emotions. "Violated? VIOLATED?!" Luz could not hear any other word. She turned around to face the woman. For the first time in her life she looked at the Odalia Blight. The pale face smirking, showing superiority, looking with disgust in her cold, pale, blue eyes. It all made Luz hate the woman in an instant.

"I don't know what kind of sick game you are playing but I'd never violate Amity." Luz growled in a low voice, angry that anyone would even suggest she could hurt the young witch in her arms. "Check her memories again since you like prodding her head so much. It was consensual." She added, venom dripping from her lips while she looked at the unaffected face of the older witch. "Unlike the time you sold her body for your own gain…"

"How dare you…" Odalia hissed. Luz hit the nerve. The older Blight touched the Oracle orb on her necklace and her brows frowned. A weird chill went down Luz's spine. "Mama to Mittens… time to get rid of that filth from your life."

"NO!" Amity yelled in her girlfriend's arms, writhing in pain. Luz had to kneel to hold her body secure. She set the younger Blight's lower body on the floor and secured the witch's head with her free hand. The orb on Amity's choker glowed brightly.

"Stop fighting, Mittens. You're just causing a scene!" Odalia ordered and the pink glow in her orb shone stronger. The glow exited Amity's choker, spreading into her body like burning veins.

"I won't!" Amity yelled, fighting the command her mother gave her. The orb in her choker shone with brighter light, the pink aura shone in Amity's eyes, and her mind slowly started to give in.

"Stop it! Can't you see you're hurting her!?" Luz yelled at Odalia who just smiled faintly. "Come on, Amity. Just let it go. It will be alright… Do what she says. I don't want you to get hurt…" Luz pleaded, stroking long, green, tangled hair, looking down at Amity writhing in pain.

Her plea was interrupted with a powerful punch that sent her flying to her back. Luz quickly sat up and realized Amity was not on the floor anymore. The young witch was standing up in her fighting stance, panting heavily, snarling, showing off her fangs, slanting her ears down. Odalia was smiling behind her, watching the scene. The orbs' glow pulsated and Amity ignited purple fire in her palms. Her face was showing pure anger and hatred.

With a snarl she threw the powerful fireball at the human. Luz quickly jumped up from the floor and cartwheeled away from the blast. "Oh… that's why she was fighting the command. I did not think that through." Luz thought. It never even occurred to her that Odalia would order Amity to hurt her girlfriend. Another fireball flew way too close to Luz's face. "I can't fight her…" Luz thought, leaning away from Amity's fiery punch. "But her… well, that's a different story." Luz thought, retrieving a fire glyph and sent it flying directly at Odalia's face. She was standing in the same line as Amity so she did not expect that attack. The older witch jumped away and cursed. That was enough of a distraction to weaken her control over Amity. Even if only for a mere moment. Her daughter fell to her knees like an abandoned puppet, exhausted, her eyes regained golden color.

"Amity!" Luz exclaimed, running toward the young witch and kneeled in front of her, cupping her face.

"Luz…" Amity whispered in fatigue. "Please run! I can't have her hurting you!" She tried to convince Luz while she still had some control over her body, standing up. "No!" She yelled when the magenta light reappeared in her eyes.

"Amity!" Luz yelled not thinking about the consequences of not moving away from the puppetered witch. Against her will Amity drew a spell circle and the abomination slime surrounded her pale body. Luz realized that this cannot be good. "What is she forcing you to do?" The human thought, getting up as well, and taking a few steps back.

"RUN!" Amity roared at Luz as she could not control what she was doing. The abomination slime took the shape of numerous spiky tentacles. "DON'T!" Young Blight was fighting the commands but it was a lost battle. Luz's heart was broken in hundred pieces witnessing the girl she adores in so much pain.

"Amity…" Luz whispered and the next thing she knew the time had stopped still. She felt a strange tingling in her chest and abdomen. The abomination tentacles disappeared from behind the green haired witch. The human looked down at her body and noticed two of the purple spikes piercing her body while the other two cut her limbs. She coughed and blood oozed out from her wounds and lips. The warm, slick liquid marked human's clothes.

"No, Luz!" Amity fought the spell while she pushed herself to take a step closer. One after another. Against all odds and all laws bound by this spell, she stumbled closer. "Just another one! Another step! I'm almost here Luz!" She encouraged herself as finally she was standing in front of a pinned human. "I-I'm sorry…" She felt a human's shaking hand on her cheek. It was never so cold before.

"You fought so bravely…" Luz said with a smile. "Amity…" Blood tainted her teeth and lips. "I did that… I killed her!" Amity panicked, "I'm proud of you." Luz whispered and everything started to get blurry. Her eyelids were getting heavier while she had trouble staying awake.

"Luz! No! Please, don't leave me!" Amity cried while she managed to force her hand to grab the human's arm. Luz's hand fell down from the pale cheek, losing her consciousness.

Amity's heart pounded in her chest like never before. She could have sworn that the heart beating against the bile sack will explode in her ribcage. The memories of time spent with Luz in the past months flooded her mind "This cannot be the end… not like this!" Young Blight's emotions were seeping out along with her magic. She felt herself regaining control over her body ever so slightly. She moved in closer and hugged Luz's unconscious, limp body. Not removing the spikes to slow down the blood loss. "Please, Luz…" She said with tears in her eyes and panic in her voice. "I-I… I love you…" She whispered, touching the unconscious girl's face.

"WHAT!?" Odalia growled behind her while a quiet chirp escaped Luz's unconscious lips.

"You heard me!" Amity faced Odalia, furious, ready to kill the woman who gave her life just to control every aspect of it. The energy of her magic flew around her body creating a scary image of a hurt witchling. The older witch shook her head in disbelief.

"We'll see about that, Mittens." Odalia said coldly and with a small smile grabbed her orb. "Love IS weakness." The orb shone brightly blinding Amity. It was the last thing she saw.

The young Blight felt her head pounding. It was the first stimulus that made it to her senses. She lifted her hand to her temple and groaned in pain while the feeling of the rest of her body was slowly returning to her. The witch tried to bend her leg but it was hardly working. Her eyelids were so heavy she could have sworn someone filled them with lead. Suddenly she felt a warm presence. It felt familiar even though she knew it was not possible for her to recognize it. A soft brush of feathers touched her cheek while something pushed her face, urging her to get up. "Hooty?" She dismissed that thought as it would not be logical. Hooty was back at the Owl House. She groaned a bit, trying to move her heavy body again. She felt another push on her face and then something warm, wet, like sandpaper running up her cheek. Amity finally managed to crack open her heavy eyelids. She noticed a feathery figure above her, the beak was attached to its round face, pitch black orbs were staring down at her.

"Ah!" She gasped in fear and she managed to slightly move away from the figure despite the heaviness of her body. The figure was surrounded by a delicate golden light. Amity has seen its entire body now. Long talons attached to fierce arms and hind legs. Powerful wings were smoothly hugging its bird-like body. The feathers on the head were almost white and they faded into almost black. The figure chirped in a manner Amity recognized. "Beasty?" She asked in confusion and the figure approached her again, lowering its head toward the witch. It bumped its head at the pale face, nuzzling and the witch smiled slightly. "I am surprised to see you too." Amity said, hugging the neck of the Beast while it chirped in a way that reminded the witch of a way Luz mocked her. She had a feeling she knew what it meant. "Yeah, I know you live here." Amity said "I just had no idea Odalia would transfer my consciousness into Luz's head." She added while grabbing her legs trying to make them work. The Beast chirped in a questioning manner. "Every consciousness has a different… density? I don't know how to explain it correctly. I just need to adjust to the way my own consciousness feels here. I know this body is not real but our minds are so used to our physical appearance this is what we manifest as." She explained and the Owl's eyes shone with curiosity. "Can you help me up?" The witch asked and it was not long when she was standing by the Beast's side, holding its fluffy neck tightly. The Owl surrounded the witch with its right wing protectively. "We need to find Luz… I don't want to think about what Odalia is doing to her." Amity said, looking around the dark space around them with only one source of light.

"Chirp?" The Beast questioned.

"Yeah… that would seem like the only place to go…" The witch agreed and they slowly moved forward. Every step gave Amity better control over her consciousness. "It is still very weird… This place is so dark. So unlike Luz." The witch said. The Owl looked away and hooted sheepishly. "I'm not sure I understand that…" Witch said with all honesty. "Is that an overlap of your consciousness?" She queried. The Beast just nodded and Amity came to a realization. "This is why this Mindscape has no distinct features of either of you? This is why I can barely move! Odalia did not know there were two separate consciousnesses in one body!" She exclaimed, proud she made that discovery. "Although, I thought you were one…" She continued her theories and the Owl hooted incomprehensibly, confusing the witch.

They walked on for a few more minutes. By the time they made it to the source of light Amity was walking all by herself. The source of light turned out to be a white, yet transparent dome held up by a magenta line at the top that disappeared into nothingness. Right there, in the middle of its base was Luz, sitting on her heels, head bowed down, her back shaking in sobs.

"Don't…" The witch heard a cry "Don't leave us…" Luz whispered between the sobs. The Owl wanted to run toward the human but Amity held it back.

"Stop!" She yelled in a commanding voice. "Look up!" She pointed at the magenta thread with the index finger. "This is Odalia's spell. If that's anything like what she did to me then she's showing Luz all her worst memories. Or at least the memories that shaped her the way she is today. Maybe for me these were the worst memories… Or maybe she's doing something completely different to her." Amity explained, turning around toward her girlfriend. "Whatever she sees in the memory, she feels the emotional and physical pain all over again. If you walk in, you will be affected by that spell as well and I don't know what happens when two consciousnesses are under the same spell." She explained. "How could I have thought it's a normal parenting punishment? How was I so dense?!" The witch questioned herself, walking over to the dome.

"Chirp!" The Owl bit down on Amity's shirt as it pulled her away.

"Don't worry… I just need to see what she sees… I cannot leave her alone…" Amity explained, walking over toward the dome again, and placed her palm on the white light. Suddenly the dome erupted in all colors of light, the Owl Beast covered Amity with its wings protectively again, the spectrum of lights finally died down, showing shapes of Luz's memories.

Luz seemed to be around eight years old. She was dressed in a black dress while she was walking hand in hand with her mother. The girl's long hair was braided into three unmanageable braids. The older human woman was pale despite her complexion.

"Mami…" Young Luz asked but her mother did not reply. They made it to the cemetery where the casket with Luz's father was brought to the final resting place.

"Manny…" The older woman whispered and started to cry. She cried hard and ugly as she fell to her knees, hugging herself. Her daughter tried to comfort her, the roles of a parent-child reversed. "I can't do it without him!" Luz just hugged her mother even tighter, not knowing what else to do.

Amity's face showed no reaction. She understood the feeling of losing a parent. Even though both of her parents were alive and well, she has not seen her father in years. The memory shown under the dome has changed with a bright flash.

Luz was resting in bed in the darkness of her room, reading the Good Witch Azura novel. She loved every part of it. The book was very much used, showing that Luz read it over and over again. Her mother walked into her room.

"Luz, Mija. I need to go to take an extra shift at the Clinic. I left dinner for you in the fridge." Her mother said and looked down at her daughter who just nodded in understanding. "You still read this?" She questioned.

"Of course! Papi gave it to me and it's the best book ever!" She said with excitement Amity came to love.

"Don't you think it would be better to spend time with some friends?" The older woman asked her daughter.

"No! I want to spend time with Papi!" She said loudly, annoyed with the idea and her mother knew better than to argue. She kissed her daughter's head goodbye and left.

"So do I, Luzita…" She said hoping her daughter did not hear that. The memory showed Luz being alone in the darkness of her home, making food for herself, cleaning everything. She still needed to use a chair to reach the sink while she washed the plates and dried them off. Luz then walked to the front door to close it for the night and took her mother's red baseball bat to her bedroom where she finally went to bed.

Amity felt something turn in her chest. She had no idea her girlfriend was so lonely despite having a family. In all the months spent together she never even thought about it. Another flash brought her back to the visions from Luz's memory.

Luz must have been twelve years old. For sure not much older than that. She returned home from school. She seemed to be beat up mentally as well as physically, the spark in her eyes and positive energy brought down. She walked up the stairs of her house to clean herself up before her mother would come back home. She walked in the bathroom and slipped hitting the back of her head hard on the floor, causing her immense amount of dull pain. When she managed to sit up, she looked around, massaging her head. Her sight was still blurry. It took her a while to realize the white bathroom floor tiles were covered in red water. Luz got up quickly, wobbling a little. She walked further into the bathroom to a space where a comfortable tub was hidden. She immediately covered her mouth not to scream her lungs out, painting her face red.

"Mami…" She whispered, looking at her mother, pale, lying in an overflowing bathtub. One of her hands was hanging loosely, crimson blood dripping from her wrists down to her fingertips. "No, no, no, no…" Luz mumbled, running over to the naked, already cold body of her mother. "Please, wake up, Mami!" She shook her mother but it did not bring any result except for the body falling deeper into the water. "Please, don't leave me!" Luz started shouting at the dead figure in her arms. The young girl did not notice she was soaking wet in water mixed with her mother's blood. "No!" She screamed her lungs out, unable to control her emotions. She started rocking back and forth, having no idea what else to do. All of a sudden the memory went dark.

It seemed there was a time skip of a few hours when a police officer was talking with social services regarding the future of Luz. Said girl was sitting on the front porch of her home, covered in a scratchy police blanket, still rocking with an emotionless face. A face Amity did not recognize. A young woman, dressed elegantly, approached Luz and kneeled next to her.

"Hello, Luz. I'm Veronica." She said with a smile and Luz just looked at her as if she was her enemy. "Do you understand what will happen now?" Veronica questioned and Luz nodded.

"I will be sent into the system and I will never see my home again." Amity's future girlfriend said with a dead tone.

"Well, usually yes." Veronica confirmed "But your mother had some really good friends back at the Clinic and one of them is already a foster parent to a few kids." She explained and Luz looked up at her.

"Does that mean I can stay at my house?" Luz asked with hope in her voice and the social services worker just laughed, hurting Luz in the process.

"I'm afraid it doesn't work like that…" She said with a smile.

"Mami…" Luz's consciousness whispered sobbing. Amity wanted nothing more than to go in and hug her girlfriend, support her in any way but she was scared her presence would hurt her even more. The witch had no idea what would happen if another consciousness would enter the spell. "Why would you choose to leave me?!" The human howled with pain in her voice and she grabbed her brown locks tugging her hair to feel a different kind of pain, to feel anything other than the misery she was experiencing. Then the new memory flashed.

"What will you do, Freak?!" A boy called Luz, pushing her to the ground at the back of the school. "You want to be a hero so bad?" He asked, grabbing an embellished sword from the ground.

"NO!" Luz exclaimed. It was not fear in her voice. It was anger. "Don't you dare touch it!"

"Oh, yeah… your Mami got it for you…" The boy laughed when he lunged at Luz, cutting her chest. The blood oozed from the cut. He retracted the blade and his eyes went wide in shock and fear.

"Dude! What did you do?" His friend asked.

"It was supposed to be dull, a toy!" The bully mumbled and Luz just scoffed. She cut her hair with that sword, her Mami did not get her just a stupid toy, she thought while she looked down at the blood on her chest. She laid back on the ground and looked calmly into the sky. It was a beautiful day. Few clouds in the sky created a calm breeze while the sun warmed her body nicely.

"Maybe I'll see you soon, Mami." Luz whispered, closing her eyes. She smiled with content for the first time in a very long time. "Just wait for me with Papi."

"Luz!" A tall woman who suddenly appeared from behind the corner screamed. "Somebody call an ambulance! Noceda is bleeding heavily!"

Amity could understand losing the will to live. Luz went through so much at such a young age. That would destroy even the strongest adult. She admired her even more now. She looked at her girlfriend holding herself by her shoulder and wincing in pain while she was experiencing the physical pain of her wound all over again. It did not stop even when the new vision had begun.

"What the hell were you thinking?!" A person yelled at Luz when they slapped her hard across her face. "Intestines from sausages?! Who thinks of that?" The man yelled.

"My Papi taught me that! He was your friend!" Luz exclaimed angrily, taking an offensive position.

"Oh, don't you talk back to me! I gave you a roof over your head!" The man yelled, grabbing Luz, and throwing her at the bookshelf, watching her slide down. "You are lucky you can still live here with the way you act! You ungrateful brat!" He added and stormed out of the room. Luz was left on the floor with a swollen cheek, pulsating bruises on her back, and she cried quietly. She hit the bookshelf with the back of her head in frustration.

Amity understood that behavior. The need to feel anything but that misery. The witch grabbed her own arms in a tight hug. She realized they both had more in common than either of them thought. The warm head of the Owl Beast laid on her shoulder in a supportive manner. New flash appeared.

Luz was around fourteen when she returned to her childhood home. The building was empty, forgotten. She went in without a problem. The spare key was still under the welcome mat. Young Noceda walked into the kitchen. Most of the food was still there, filling the house with the smell of rot and insects. No one dared to enter a house where a suicide has taken place. She heard people saying it was haunted but she was happy no one tried to break in at least. She walked into her old room and most of her old stuff was still there. There was evidence homeless people tended to crash here but nothing was taken as if it was all cursed. She finally made it to the bathroom. She looked at the now empty bathtub and tears escaped her eyes while her lower lip quivered. Luz walked into the tub and laid down in it. The old, rusty razor was still there, taunting her.

Amity gasped when she noticed Luz looking at the razor with temptation.

The ruckus downstairs brought her back from her thoughts. She ran through the corridor, grabbing her mother's old baseball bat. As soon as she made it to the living room something hit her face hard, sending her falling to the floor. She shook her head and looked up. It was the bully from her school.

"Well, Noceda… Nothing will save you now." He growled, walking over to the smaller figure.

"What's your problem with me?" Luz hissed, getting up back to her feet.

"You are, Weirdo!" He said and punched her in the face. She wobbled back and wanted to fight him before realizing he was not alone. She decided to run. At least this time. She made it to the back door and ran into the woods as fast as she could. Until she got lost. The sun went up and down again. It would appear Luz spent days in the forest when she noticed a bush of gray hair running off to a forgotten cabin in the woods. She followed it and made it to a different Realm.

"Eda… Mum…" Luz murmured, shaking her head, trying to get out of these memories. Amity was having a hard time controlling her urge to run in. The Owl Beast felt that and it held the witch's shirt with its beak.

Next memories were flashing by rapidly. The bite of the Slitherbeast when Luz pushed King away from harm. The stings of fire bees that covered her right calf. The snap of plant vines cutting her face. Luz's consciousness fell to her back and was writhing in pain under the dome, experiencing the pain of all her wounds all over again. The yell of agony hurt Amity's ears and broke her heart. She did not notice the Owl Beast's anxious chirps and movements by her side.

"Eda?" A sixteen year old Luz called out when she walked into the Owl House, past the broken front door. Hooty was out cold. The human gulped when she walked past the demon, leaving her school satchel by the couch and looking around the quiet house engulfed in darkness. "King?" She called again but no one answered her. A sudden ruckus upstairs got her attention. Luz faced the stairs and slowly, quietly walked up with a bright light spell hovering above her palm. Drops of sweat appeared on her forehead when she was getting closer to the first floor. A low growl was heard in Eda's bedroom.

"Chirp!" The Owl Beast was about to run into the dome but Amity stopped it.

"What is it?" The witch asked, looking away from Luz and at the Beast. She could have sworn she had seen tears appear in the pitch black eyes. "Is it…" She wanted to ask but was interrupted with Luz's scream.

"Eda! Don't! It's me!" Luz screamed and crawled back on the floor, looking up at her mother's fully transformed cursed form. Black eyes, long, razor-sharp teeth and crooked talons glowed in the darkness of the room.

"Luz?" She heard King's voice behind her. She turned to face him and noticed the small Demon was holding a vial of golden elixir.

"No! King! Run!" She yelled and the Demon tried to warn his human sister when he noticed Eda lifting up her talons. The light spell shone brightly showing fear and rage in Beast's face. The claws sliced down. The cursed witch ripped the multicolored school uniform, along with the human's skin and muscles. The splash of blood decorated the walls of Eda's room. "AAAAAAAA!" Luz screamed her lungs out when she felt the pain of her body being cut open by sharp claws. She felt getting weaker and soon fell to the ground face down. The pool of blood around her was getting bigger while her eyelids were getting heavier. "M-Mum…" Luz whispered weakly.

Amity covered her mouth to stop herself from crying while her girlfriend was reliving the pain. Tears in her golden eyes blinded her enough to not notice that the Owl Beast ran inside the dome and approached Luz. With quiet chirps it tried to get Luz to move, to snap out of the pain she was feeling. Her brown eyes were looking into emptiness while the pain was all she could feel. "That's the worst part of this spell. In your consciousness you cannot pass out." Amity thought as if she wanted to explain it to Luz who kept screaming and writhing in agony. The Owl tried licking the human but it gave no result. It looked at Amity as if it was asking for permission. Or maybe it was looking for some advice? Whatever it was, it suddenly leaned back to Luz's head and bit her round earlobe.

"Fuuuuuck!" The human screamed when she regained some control over her consciousness. She heard a happy hoot above her, turned to her back, and was surprised to see an Owl Beasts staring at her from above. "You?" She asked, massaging her ear with frowned brows. The Beast licked her face happily. "Gah! Stop! I'm okay now!" She exclaimed, sitting up, and looked around. The visions disappeared and everything went dark again. Only a delicate magenta glow at the top of the dome was giving off a faint light source. Luz turned around to face the Owl Beast and sat on her heels. The creature moved closer and the human hugged it tightly. "Thanks for snapping me out of it." Luz said into feathers. "I know…" Her words were interrupted when the new visions started appearing inside the dome. Amity looked at them from a safe distance, realizing that once inside the dome they cannot see anything outside. The Owl Beast took a few steps back. Despite its animalistic features and pitch black eyes it was obvious it was scared. "Oh, no…" Luz said when she recognized the vision from her dreams.

The Owl Demon was running away through the woods. Feeling the powerful force right behind it. Always getting closer. It knew they would never give up. When it turned around its black eyes noticed a hooded figure in the distance. The Owl screeched in fear and tried to fly away. A sudden explosion was heard accompanied by a bright light and a jolt of pain paralyzed its body. The next thing it recalled was complete darkness. It tried to find a way out, scratching anything it found but nothing ever helped. It was trapped.

A sudden light snatched the Owl out of its prison. It had no idea where it was. The sun blinded its black eyes, the witches around it were throwing things at it. Feelings of panic filled its ears and heart. It needed to get away. Far away. It ran. Again.

Everything went dark once more but not as dark as before. There was a delicate golden light sharing its prison now. It was warm and beautiful. The Owl Beast tried to get closer to it, to experience more of its warmth and comfort. But as it did something hurt. As if it was not allowed to touch it. It chirped sadly and laid down, looking at it.

Another bright, colorful light and a loud bang brought the creature out of its prison. It was in a wooden hut. A man in a hood was holding a device creating lights with a colorful glow. A MAN IN A HOOD! It had to defend itself! After the fight was over the Beast walked over the unconscious body and noticed a mirror. It did not recognize itself. Red fluffy fur? Skin on its face? No beak?! It panicked. It needed to get away.

Years passed and the Owl learned how to be more aware of their host's life and surroundings. The potions the witch was drinking was making it more dormant but also more aware of the host's life. Or was it just that the creature accepted its fate?

"Eda! Don't! It's me!" The Owl's vision was blurry. It did not see who was screaming in front of it. The cowl of the human's school uniform fluttered and the Beast saw a flash of a hooded person who trapped it. The light in the human's hand was so similar to the one that destroyed Owl's life. It did not think twice. It attacked, hoping to finally be free of the curse thrust upon it.

"You… You didn't know…" Luz whispered while the visions kept going. The human felt compassion for the creature living inside her.

The Owl Beast heard a familiar voice filling the darkness of its prison. Something started to happen. It felt being dragged away from the warm light of its cell. The light that got dimmer over the years. It did not know what was happening but the next thing it knew it was soaring the night sky, feeling the wind between its feathers. Feeling of freedom that it has missed so much. It stopped by a small lake and looked down. Its appearance changed. The fur was now brownish, the skin of its face more tan, it looked younger. It understood what had happened. Her host's daughter found a way to save her mother.

"You listen to me, birdbrain!" The vision has changed, showing Luz pointing finger at herself in the mirror. "Oh, I know you can hear me!" She continued, her more adult features looked very stern. "We've been through a lot in the past years, you got me a few new scars but keep your feathery ass down. We start higher education today and I cannot have us flying off into the sunset!" She continued.

"Just take your elixir!" Eda yelled from the other side of the door and Luz rolled her eyes.

"I told you, I did, Mum but I can tell they don't like the elixir." A creature chirped delicately. "I don't like it either, it's disgusting!" With the way the human spoke to herself and often faked conversations out loud the Owl Beast became aware of most of its surroundings.

A crash of the glass was heard when the new vision appeared.

The Owl screeched angrily while the pink haired triclops taunted Luz. It wanted to rip her to pieces so badly. "CALM DOWN!" Luz's thoughts yelled, echoing around while they moved away. The anger of the Beast was hard to control. "I WON'T LET YOU CHANGE! NOT AT SCHOOL! NOT SO CLOSE TO…"

"Amity!" The human yelled while she fought the Owl Beast's anger and its desire to be set free.

"Amity…" Luz whispered fondly, looking at the image of her girlfriend from just a few months ago. Another flash showed Amity holding Luz's hand while Emira was healing her. Amity reading a book to Luz, Amity in the Library, in the school's corridor, in the Owl House, sleeping in Luz's chair, surrounded with purple flames, healing Luz herself, carrying the human, kissing, smiling, looking down sheepishly, tucking hair away behind a pointed ear, biting her lower lip. Luz looked at the Owl Beast and raised her eyebrow. "Dude, you have a thing for my girl?" She mocked the creature, looking back at the visions. Amity's cries filled the dome, her yell hurt them both, her eyes glowing with magenta light angered them both.

"I love you.." Witch's voice echoed and Luz's fists clenched. She looked at the creature in front of her once again.

"We have to save her." The human stated "Odalia may think she won but she doesn't know who she's dealing with. I didn't know either. I thought you were a curse. But I am a curse to you just as much." The Beast nodded in agreement and Amity could not resist any longer.

"Luz, don't!" She had to stop Luz before she got hurt. The witch walked over to her girlfriend and hugged her tightly.

"Amity!? What are you doing here?" The human was shocked but happy. She returned the hug eagerly and the visions in the dome stopped once again when the new consciousness interrupted the spell.

"Odalia brought me here…" The witch started but Luz almost immediately interrupted her, pulling back and taking a hold of pale hands.

"Is this what she's been doing to you this whole time? Reliving your experiences? Making you feel the same pain over and over again?" The human asked, recalling King's words on how to use the spell for torture, and Amity just nodded with embarrassment. "Oh, I will rip her to pieces…" Luz growled and the Owl growled in agreement.

"No, listen Luz. You have to get the hell out of here. Forget about me, about us, forget about everything, just save yourself, before…" Amity tried to hurry but she was not fast enough. The dome lit up again as it adjusted to a new consciousness. The witch paled down and Luz has never seen her girlfriend that scared. All three of them looked at the vision. Odalia's smug face looked at them and Amity tried to disappear in Luz's arms. "Oh… here we go again…"

Eda was hiding behind the trees surrounding the Blight Manor while she waited for her sister to show up. Owlbert was resting on her shoulder, they were both anxious about Luz's safety. The witch noticed shadows of three figures behind the windows in one of the main rooms of the Manor. The purple light shone brightly through the windows. A sudden snap of twigs distracted Eda from her reconnaissance.

"Finally, Lilith! What took you so long?" Eda said, turning toward the red haired witch in white robes, holding a long white staff, ending with a raven-shaped Palisman.

"Don't complain, Edalyn. It's not easy to get the team ready on a last minute notice." Lilith said with a calm, cold voice when the team of five witches made themselves known. "Especially knowing whom you want me to arrest." She added, looking at her sister in disbelief.

"Oh, trust me! We have the proof all right!" Eda said and curled up her upper lip in a smile showing off a golden fang. Before they could continue their banter the loud scream of pain reached their ears. "Luz!" She turned around and while she wanted to rush in, help her daughter, Lilith grabbed her shoulder, stopping her.

"You can't just barge in! Eda! Think!" Red haired witch stopped her. "We need a plan, a proper tactic!"

"Then you go ahead and plan your tactic!" Eda snapped at her. "I'm going to save my Kid!" She added, setting herself free from Lilith's hold. "Just try not to take too long." Younger sister jumped on her staff and flew toward the Manor at high speed.

While she was getting closer she noticed one figure by the window on the left. She drew a spell circle and blasted a window on the right, making her way into the living room. She looked around and analyzed the scene as fast as possible. Odalia was standing by the wall opposite the windows, holding her orb, focusing on the spell she was casting, a spell she had no idea would require so much of her attention, not understanding what caused that issue. Nevertheless, she continued with a wicked grin, hoping to break Luz and Amity apart.

On the other side of the room, by the window, Eda noticed Luz's body, impaled by an abomination slime. Her head was upturned while she was writhing in pain, bangs stuck to her sweaty neck, her chest was heaving, oozing blood as it was directed upwards. Her feet were barely touching the ground while the slime was helping keep her upright. Her eyes glowed in bright pink and her hands were shaking by her sides. Eda felt anger seeping into her heart. She looked away from Luz, to the right, and noticed Amity kneeling on the floor in a way that suggested she was on her way walking towards Odalia when the spell hit her. Her eyes were shining in the same pink glow but somehow she managed to keep up the spell circle, keeping Luz's wounds closed as long as possible. Eda was honestly impressed with the resolve young Blight showed to keep the human alive despite the situation they were in. Another yell escaped Luz's lips and it brought back Eda's attention to the situation at hand. The fury erupted from her body, engulfing her in an enormous wave of golden light.

"Oy! Get away from my daughter, you bitch!" Eda exclaimed and drew the spell circle with her staff. The rain of golden rays erupted from the circle of energy fired at Odalia. The older Blight noticed the attack at the last possible moment. She summoned a giant pink spirit that shielded her from the Clawthorne's fury and looked for a second at the unwelcome interruption.

"Your… daughter?" She asked calmly with a visible amusement in her voice. Eda growled and she flashed away in golden light only to appear on Odalia's other side to attack the other woman. The spirit summoned by the Oracle shielded her again and hit back the older witch sending her flying back. "Don't bother. You are too weak. You always were…" Odalia said calmly, still keeping the spell cast upon Luz and Amity intact. "Too wild, overflooded with emotion." She added when Eda got up to her feet. Said witch drew another spell circle and hit the floor with her staff. A bright, golden light in the shape of the giant owl erupted from behind Eda, racing toward Odalia. The force of the attack sent the Blight witch sliding away on the carpet covered floor, while she used the spirit to repel the attack. Yet, she still did not break the control over the young women in the room. "Enough!" Odalia yelled and sent the spirit at Eda, throwing her back to the part of the room where she first appeared, trapping her underneath a pink dome of energy, imprisoning her, forbidding to interfere any further. Luz's scream got the attention of both older witches. While Eda looked at her daughter with tears of fear in her eyes, Odalia was satisfied with the pain inflicted on the human.

"No, listen. You have to get the hell out of here. Forget about me, about us, forget about everything, just save yourself, before…" Amity tried to hurry but she was not fast enough. The dome lit up again. The witch paled down, her pupils shrank. Luz has never seen her girlfriend that scared. All three of them looked at the vision. Odalia's smug face looked at them and Amity tried to disappear in Luz's arms.

Amity was hiding in her bed, tightly covered with a thick blanket. She was scared for her life but still refused to do as told.

"No? What do you mean 'no'?" Odalia asked, angrily walking toward Amity.

"I don't want to go to school!" Young Blight said, fear showing on her face, tears escaping her eyes. She was an emotional mess, disobeying Odalia.

"You will do as I say!" Odalia exclaimed, making her way to the bed and summoning her staff.

She started hitting Amity with all her might. The blanket did not help much. Young girl could have sworn she felt the staff hit hard enough to touch her bones under the blanket and her skin. She just knew she had to endure it. Odalia will need to leave soon. She always did.

"Get up!" Odalia roared, the beating stopped. Amity was now feeling her body pounding as the bruises formed on her body. Suddenly she felt the painful tug on her scalp. Odalia pulled her out of bed by her hair and dragged her to the bathroom. Amity tried to fight it, she grabbed her mother's hand, she did everything to set herself free but her birthgiver just held the hair even tighter. "You better be ready in ten minutes or you'll regret it!" Odalia said, closing Amity in the bathroom. Young witch just sat down on the floor and cried, feeling pain in her overwhelmed body while she could not move a muscle.

"I can't…" She whispered to herself sobbing. She had no idea how much time had passed but Odalia suddenly opened the bathroom and noticed her daughter was not ready. She grabbed her hair once again and started pounding the girl's head at any flat surface available.

Luz could not believe what she was witnessing. Amity in the vision must have been barely ten years old. And yet her own mother, the person who was supposed to care for her hurt her so much. The human looked to the side and noticed her girlfriend on the ground reexperiencing the pain from so many years ago. Luz wanted to hug her, comfort her. She managed to take a hold of the witch in a tight, comforting hug while the young Blight whimpered in pain. Without a break or a warning, a new vision has begun.

"It's not up for discussion! You will go out with the gentleman!" Odalia ordered while they were sharing a meal together, just the two of them. Amity's green hair was shorter than it was now and her face was a little bit more round.

"But I don't even like men!" Young witch argued. Her mother hit the table with her fist, startling the young witch.

"Enough of this nonsense! Just get some Apple Blood and get over yourself!" Her mother spoke up with a tone no one could argue with. Amity could not believe what she was hearing. She took a breath and added with the sweetest voice "Besides, this is what's best for the Company. The payment has already gone through."

Amity was back in her room getting dressed. She looked at her reflection with a lifeless stare. The black dress with purple sleeves matched her choker perfectly. She sighed heavily and turned to leave the house.

"Remember, Mittens! The better impression you make the better for our Company. And just maybe you'd be able come back home to Bonesborough." Odalia's voice echoed in Amity's head while the orb on her choker glowed. The young Blight did her best to control the urge to cry and run as far away as possible.

The memory changed again showing a witch sharing dinner with Amity. The man was talking some nonsense most of the evening. His plain voice was easy to ignore. The momemory was focused solely on Amity's drinks. She drank one Apple Blood after another. Numbing herself. Trying very hard to stop feeling anything.

Next thing Amity realized, a man was dragging her into his apartment. Forcefully pushing into the bedroom. "No, I don't want to be here…" She thought when she felt him discarding her dress.

"No, don't…" She opposed it but he just smiled, continuing his ministrations. "Please, don't do this!" She said much louder but he just pushed her on the bed and unzipped his trousers.

"Odalia warned me you like playing hard to get." He said with a low, lustful growl that made Amity sick "Lucky for you, I like it." He added and he crawled on top of her. Just then and there she noticed he was much older than her, blonde with long hair and blue eyes. She tried to turn and run but he grabbed her hair and forced to lay on her back. With his second hand he tore away her bra and underwear. The man smiled happily at the sight. "Worth every Snail…" He murmured, leaned down and started touching, licking, sucking the pale body with sick satisfaction.

"Don't…" Amity repeated while she tried to move away but he held her tightly, bruising her porcelain white flesh. He entered her forcefully without a word of warning. Happy with the feeling of taking away Blight's virginity. He pushed again with a growl of satisfaction. He pulled out and let his bloody penis lay on her abdomen.

"Look how big it is!" He growled happily, forcing her to look down. "I said - look!" Amity only noticed blood. Her blood. On her abdomen, on him, on the sheets. Her heartbeat increased, racing in panic, her breathing was rapid. Before she could react in any way he entered her again considering her reaction an excitement. Amity was paralyzed with fear, with pain, with desire to die. Tears quietly rolled down her cheeks while the man was enjoying his purchase. Time after time. Forcing her, turning to different positions, not letting her go until he was satisfied.

Luz felt Amity sliding down, trembling, holding her abdomen, feeling the pain, the fear, the hopelessness all over again. The human looked at her girlfriend while she moved down with her, holding her tightly. Amity could not look at Luz. She felt so ashamed of what happened that night. She cried quietly. "It's so different knowing what happened and actually seeing it happen…" Clawthorne thought, recalling what Amity told her in the Library some time ago.

"Amity…" Luz whispered trying to get her girlfriend's attention while the spell stopped for a mere moment in a strange pause. The witch shook her head but did not stop holding the human close, balling her shirt with her fists. She felt safe with Luz. Even though she still feared that seeing that memory would scare the human away. The witch felt so broken. "I'm so sorry this happened to you." Luz continued despite getting no reaction from Amity. "You did not deserve anything that Odalia put you through. Despite all that you are full of love and compassion." Those words gave Amity strength to look into the human's eyes. Her brown orbs were holding back tears.

"Luz…" The witch whispered in disbelief.

"I didn't have a chance to reply earlier." The human continued, wiping her eyes. "I love you too, Amity." She said and felt a warm hug. The smaller woman threw herself at the human in a desperate hug as if she was afraid the other woman would disappear, and the Owl chirped happily at this show of affection.

"Despite…" Amity whispered into the human's neck. "But… I'm broken…" Luz pulled away and looked fiercely into her girlfriend's eyes.

"Don't you ever say you are broken." Luz commanded. "You are NOT broken! You were put through unspeakable experiences but that never broke you." The human continued while Amity's tears kept rolling down her cheeks. "It hurt you, left you with wounds going deeper than anything else but it did not break you." The loud warm hoot and a feathery push got the witch's attention. Almost as if the Owl was trying to tell Blight it agrees with the human.

"Then… now what?" Amity asked, wiping her tears away. The support both Luz and the Owl offered made her almost forget the pain she was in. Luz helped up the witch who was still holding her abdomen.

"Now?" The human asked with a truly wicked smile. There was something murderous behind it but Amity felt safe and hopeful seeing it "Now we deal with Odalia." She said and she faced the Owl Beast. "What do you say, Beasty? Want to lend me your magic to kick some narcissistic ass?" Luz asked and Amity trembled at the confidence radiating from her girlfriend. As if she was not forced to relieve her trauma all over again just a few moments ago. The Owl hooted loudly and spread its wings in joyful agreement, ran around Luz, slid its neck underneath the human and brought the lean figure to its back. "All right!" Luz exclaimed, feeling confident as straddling the demon was familiar to flying on the griffin, and she looked down at the witch. "Just don't give up on us, Amity because I'm not going anywhere." She added with a cocky smile and let the Owl Beast know she was ready.

The demon spread its powerful wings and in a single swift movement they were flying toward the top of the dome, aiming at the magenta glow binding them in Odalia's spell. Amity held her palms folded in front of her lips not believing how amazing Luz was. She looked at her girlfriend flying on the back of the Beast's consciousness' with awe. The figures were engulfed in bright golden light when they made it to the top of the dome blinding the witch.

Eda watched her daughter's body being encircled by a golden ray of pure energy. It started around her feet and slowly rose up until her whole body was covered with what looked like golden wildfire. Amity shook her head when she realized the spell was broken and her consciousness was back in her body. She turned towards her girlfriend and noticed the same golden light she had seen right before Luz broke the spell in her mind.

"Luz…" Young Blight whispered in awe. She was close enough to see what really was happening under the bright energy which surprisingly did not hurt her eyes. It hypnotized her in a positive way. She found it beautiful, mesmerizing, and truly magical.

Luz's hair turned into a soft fur, spiking out of her scalp, her ears got longer, pointy, feathery and her lips now were hiding long fangs. Her clothes disappeared somewhere while tiny brown and black feathers pricked from underneath her skin. Human's hands were disfigured, elongated and Luz now had long fingers ending with black, sharp talons. Amity recognized those claws. Those were the same ones the night Luz had a nightmare.

A sudden snap of bone was heard and Luz's legs lengthened, turning into bird-like feet with a single claw in the opposite direction as if it would help her get a hold of a branch. Luz screamed and Amity was so in shock she stopped maintaining the spell circle causing the abomination spikes to retract from her girlfriend's body, turning into a pond of goo on the floor.

When the abomination slime exited the human's flesh, Luz fell down on all fours, gasping for air, wincing in pain. Within a moment she shot up, upturning her head, throwing her chest toward the ceiling and whilst still on her knees, another burst of golden energy accompanied her animalistic, distorted yell and strong, powerful, feathery, wide wings grew from her shoulder blades. Amity froze at the sight of the painful transformation, yet she had no idea Luz was relieved it was less painful then her first transformation into the Owl Beast all those years ago.

When the transformation was complete, the golden energy disappeared, and she fell back on all fours, trying to get her body under control, breathing heavily from the exhaustion. Luz lifted herself up a little bit, looked at the scared green haired witchlet in front of her, and smirked slightly. "Those eyes!" Amity thought, staring into the pitch black orbs with glowing golden irises. The human's smirk faded and she smiled warmly at her girlfriend showing off her fangs. Young Blight noticed that the smile sent weird chills down her spine when she eyed the harpy-like figure in front of her. Luz got up to her bird-like feet and looked at Odalia with a murderous seriousness. "She's still bleeding! Why didn't she heal?" Amity though when she noticed the wounds she had inflicted were still oozing, covering the feathers in blood.

"This ends now… Odalia…" Luz growled between gasps in a distorted voice, snarling, baring her fangs. The addressed witch had barely any moment to react when Luz spread her wings and attacked the older Blight. Her claws sliced the air so close to the witch's head some of the green hair was cut off, flying down to the floor.

"How dare you!" Odalia exclaimed angrily, shocked with the sudden attack "Keep your filthy paws off me!" She yelled, jumping out of the harm's way, grabbing her orb to regain her control over Amity.

"Oh, no, no, no…" Luz whispered in a way that would send the bravest person running for their dear life. "No more controlling, Amity." She added, spreading her wings, ascending slightly, grabbing Odalia by the shoulders with her feet and soaring with her up to the ceiling then throwing her at the wall like a lifeless doll, watching her slide down while her wings beated, keeping her in the air.

A sudden pain erupted from Luz's chest in the same place where she was hurt before, distracting her from Odalia. The human looked down and noticed an abomination spike controlled by Amity, penetrating her chest. The witch's eyes glowed pink again, tears were rolling down her cheeks, snarl glued to her lips. "You fight so bravely…" The human thought facing her girlfriend.

"Luz…" Amity managed to growl out, trying to fight the spell while Luz landed in front of Odalia looking down at her. The older Blight held the orb and whispered something with a small smile. "Run! Luz! RUN!" Young Blight roared, frightened to death while against her will she was summoning another set of abomination spikes, combining it with her fire magic.

It was truly an impressive and intimidating sight to see how powerful Amity was. Yet, before she had a chance to strike that final blow, six new, hooded figures appeared in the room. Without any warning Amity fell to the floor on all fours, relieved from the order, breathing heavily from exhaustion. She slowly removed the spikes from the human's chest, helping her feathery body to the floor. Amity shut her eyes for a mere moment, afraid to look up, letting the tears roll down her pale cheeks. "I hurt her! How could I?! Too weak… Pathetic… Useless!" Her mind was buzzing.

"Lilith!" Eda yelled from inside the dome. It was then and there when Luz noticed her mother in the room. She was so blindly focused on protecting Amity she did not notice anyone or anything else.

"Finally! Took you long enough!" Odalia hissed when she noticed the Empire Coven Scouts in her living room. "Get this monster out of my house. It tried to kidnap my daughter, it attacked me…" The older Blight was playing the role of the victim, trying to make her case. Luz just growled, baring her fangs, and preparing her claws for a strike.

"The only monster here… is you…" Amity managed to choke out, getting everyone's attention. The effects of Odalia's spell were finally catching up with her but she was not about to give up. Her head fell forward once more but she managed to bring it up again, glaring at her birthgiver from behind the waterfall of messy green hair. Beat up, bruised, overwhelmed with bright lights, locked in her mind since yesterday, controlled, forced to fight with the use of all her power. "Too much…" She thought, continuing to look furiously at her mother from underneath her brows, breathing slowly yet heavily.

"Odalia Blight, you are under arrest for the use of a forbidden spell…" Lilith started to recite but the witch interrupted her.

"You have no proof!" Odalia yelled, trying to sit up. "Arrest that… THING!" She pointed at Luz.

"Oy! That's my daughter you're talking about!" Eda objected but Lilith just raised her eyebrow.

"You want proof?! I'll give you proof!" Luz growled when she stood up, fetched a wine glass from a cabinet not too far from where Odalia was slouching by the wall, and approached the older Blight. "You are so lucky you are still alive…" She whispered venomously with her irises shining with golden light. Pure murder was hidden behind it. The way she hurt Amity was driving Luz insane.

The screech in her head confirmed she was not the only one filled with rage toward the older Blight. Odalia looked at the animal in front of her and actually felt fear. She did her best to mask it behind her typical confidence. The human lifted her hand and let the talon of her index claw slide across the cheek of the witch who was too scared to move. The blood spilled heavily and Luz collected it to the wine glass. When it was half full the human tore the orb away from Odalia's neck and discarded it. With that, the dome imprisoning her mother disappeared and Amity was not at risk anymore. At least not for the moment. Luz got up and faced her girlfriend. She stopped for a mere second when she was passing her aunt.

"Thank you for coming." She whispered in honest gratitude and relief.

"Don't… just save her. We'll talk later." Lilith said and she turned toward the young Blight as well.

"How dare you!" Odalia opposed but was silenced with Eda's swift kick to the face.

"What?" Clawthorne asked when she realized everybody was watching her. "We all wanted to do that…" Lilith rolled her eyes, gave her scouts a sign to search the Manor, and returned her focus to her niece.

"Amity…" Luz whispered when she knelt with a heavy thump by her exhausted girlfriend's side. Amity hugged her tightly and melted in the comfort of the feathery touch of the woman she loved. Luz gave her a small peck on her temple and looked down. The witch looked into the glowing golden irises and allowed Luz to help her to the floor. "Are you sure?" Luz asked for her consent and Amity just nodded.

"I trust you." Amity whispered quietly. "Both of you." She added and took a hold of Luz's left forearm while she prepared herself for an unpleasant experience. Luz just smiled, leaned down and kissed the witch's forehead.

"That's my girl." She said with a comforting smile. Her expression faded for a moment and she rolled her eyes. "Fine! Our girl! Now do you mind?!" She yelled at the Owl Beast and realized everybody was staring at her.

"Yeah… that was out loud." Amity said with a weak smile, chuckling internally. "If that's the last thing I see before I die then I can say I die happy…" She thought while Luz was trying to compose herself. "Harpy dork…"

"All right…" Luz exhaled heavily and sent a look at Eda to come over while Lilith watched them from the distance of Odalia's unconscious body.

"It's going to be alright, Boots. We've got ya." Older Clawthorne smiled warmly, supporting the witchlet.

"Hold on, Amity." Luz mustered confidence with a weak smile and focused on the task.

The human poured the blood from the wine glass onto the smaller woman's neck. Once it was all out she let go of the glass and rubbed the blood over the choker carefully, making sure it was fully covered in the red fluid. When it was done, young Clawthorne let go of Amity since she needed both of her hands. Eda took a hold of Blight's head in her place, making sure the witch is as comfortable as possible. Luz cut her palm deeply with one of the talons and let her own blood spill onto the witch's neck.

The human ignored the feeling of the blood loss hoping the Owl's magic would be enough to heal her. This was too important to think about her wellbeing right now. Once her own blood mixed with Odalia's, the fluids glowed slightly and for the first time ever the human noticed a space appearing between the choker and the pale skin. Luz quickly placed her clawed fingers underneath it and started to pull. The golden energy erupted from her body as the choker was not about to let go so easily. The Owl Beast hooted supportively in her mind, lending more and more of its energy while Eda whispered words of encouragement to both Amity and her daughter.

"No…" Everyone heard Odalia's mumble while regaining her consciousness. The pink thread connecting Amity's orb with Odalia's matching one, entangling younger Blight's body became visible. "You can't…" Odalia added. "Impossible…"

"AAAAAA!" Luz screamed while she pulled with all her might, her wounds bleeding all over Amity, the choker cutting into her hand, young Blight digging her fingernails into the feathered arm, paralyzed with pain of the magical, pink thread, crushing her limbs. "JUST! LET! GO!" Luz hollered, losing patience.

"AAAAAAAAAA!" Amity's high pitched scream of agony filled the whole Manor until she had no voice. The thread cut her skin, crushed her bones but it did not matter to her. She looked up, focusing on Luz. Her eyes. Her face. Lips. "I was loved…" She thought, feeling the strength leaving her body.

"Don't give up, Boots…" Eda's voice made it to her ears but her eyelids were too heavy. "For the first time… loved…" A small smile appeared while she was slowly losing consciousness. "Amity!"

"It was fool proof!" Odalia growled. "I made sure no one loved her…" She thought when she noticed the choker finally letting go with a splatter of Luz's blood coloring the room. The crashing sound filled Odalia's ears when the human crashed the orb in her claw. "No!"

"Amity!" Luz exclaimed, trying to get her girlfriend's attention. Blight's golden eyes were rolling all over the place, unable to focus on anything, trying to stay conscious while her ears were twitching in a familiar manner. The human looked up at her mother. "Mum! Go! Tell them we'll be there shortly!" She ordered and looked back at Amity. Eda did not need another plea. She was already sprinting and jumping out the window, flying as fast as Owlbert could. "Please, Amity. Just hold on a little while longer." Luz murmured, scared for the witch, cradling her face, rubbing her cheeks, coloring them with her blood.

"You're not taking her anywhere!" Odalia growled but her hands were suddenly shackled in magical cuffs.

"It would seem we have proof. You will now be transferred to the Conformatorium for further investigation." Lilith interrupted in a cold voice and nodded at her niece, letting her know she could leave.

"Come on Amity…" Luz forgot about her surroundings. Only Amity mattered to her. The witch was barely conscious and to be honest, Luz was surprised she was still holding on. "We're going to Em now, okay? Just try to hold on a little bit longer." She added, repeating a plea, looking down at her girlfriend's neck where a wide scar was visible. "You're free now." She thought, holding Amity close to her chest bride-like style. Luz stood up and wobbled a bit but Lilith grabbed her, helping her up.

"Are you sure you're okay?" Her aunt asked, looking up at the human, noticing her wounds were still bleeding. Luz shook her head to regain focus and sent her aunt a cocky, fanged smile.

"No worries, Auntie L. I'm going to a Healer anyway." She said, walking over to the window. Amity was now unconscious but holding her face close to the human's chest, cuddling in search of comfort, letting the feathers in between her pale fingers. "You know where to find us." Luz added, spreading her wings and jumping into the sky. The cold air hit her hard, bringing her adrenaline level down, allowing her to feel everything she has experienced. Luz looked down at the witch curled up against her chest and smiled softly. She looked back up and noticed the view of Bonesborough was slightly blurred. "Not good…" She murmured while soaring down at the opened balcony of the Healers' Clinic. Luz felt her legs getting numb from the wound in her abdomen. How was she supposed to land?

"Luz! Slow down!" She heard Eda's voice from inside the room on the first floor of the Clinic. The human could not slow down as the numbness started to spread to her wings as well. She managed to slow down just a bit by stiffening her wings but she landed in the room by sliding on her knees, never letting go of Amity, hugging her tightly, protecting her by surrounding her with wings, tingling with numbness.

"Luz!?" Emira entered the room and stopped in shock the moment she saw the human's form. "Wow! We totally need to talk about that later!" She exclaimed when she noticed her little sister hidden in feathery arms. Luz smiled faintly, slowly got up to her feet, and wobbled. Eda held her up while the human placed Amity on the prepared gurney.

"She's exhausted." Luz whispered, mustering all her strength to speak, panting. "She was trapped in a spell since yesterday." The human continued. "Now… broken bones, cuts…"

"It's okay Luz. Don't force yourself." Viney entered the room, dressed in Healer's robes. "Come on Eda, let's take care of her." She ordered and the older witch let go of her daughter, leaving the room.

"Now… let's take a look at you." Emira said, eyeing Luz's bleeding wounds. The human just smiled with a barely conscious expression.
