Two Blue Lines Change Everything-Ch 9
The next morning Penelope sat lounging on the cough because she was off today and she was going to spend a little while looking at things that a baby would need on the computer, she smiled as she put the computer in her lap and sat back against the comfy cough to relax, as she sat there she could never have imagined the turn her life would have taken over the past couple of weeks.
She was looking at clothes, she grinned and said, "awwww how adorable" as she saw cute onesies, dresses, blankets and other things that a baby would need, she looked around her apartment and said, "if I do decide to have this baby we won't be able to stay here, this place is too small" as she looked around her apartment.
Penelope was pulled from her thoughts by a knock at the door, she looked up and saw that it was almost 10:00 and said, "that must be Derek" as she put her laptop down on the table and stood up and made her way across the living room to see who was coming to pay her a visit on a beautiful Saturday morning.
When she opened the door she was surprised to see Fran, Sarah and Desi standing there, she said, "hello ladies", Fran smiled and said, "we know it's early but can we come in?", Penelope said, "of course, of course" as she stepped back and opened the door to welcome the trio of Morgan women inside.
After she closed the door she said, "please have a seat" as they followed her across the room and sat down beside her, she looked up at Fran as Fran said, "Dave told us everything last night, honey are you okay?", Penelope nodded her head and said, "I'm fine, it's just finding out that I'm pregnant was a huge surprise and then to learn that I'm unsure of who the father is doesn't make it any easier".
Fran took Penelope's hand in hers and said, "we want you to know that we love you and that we are here for you", Penelope smiled and said, :"thank you, I can't tell you how much that means to me", Sarah said, "you've always been like a sister to me Penelope and the fact that you might be carrying my niece or nephew only brings us closer".
Penelope said, "what if this baby isn't Derek's,what if it's Kevins", she shuddered at the thoughts of bringing a child into the world with Kevin as the father, Sarah said, "I will love the baby with all of my heart either way", Desi said, "me too, this baby is innocent, he or she didn't ask to be conceived", Penelope said, "you girls have totally made my day, thank you so much".
Fran said, "that's what family does honey, we're here for each other in the good time and in the bad times", Penelope said, "I know that you didn't know what to think when you found out that I didn't know who the father was", Fran said, "sweetie, you were in a relationship with this Calvin", Sarah said, "Kevin momma", Fran said, "yeah, yeah, whatever" causing the women to all laugh.
Fran continued by saying, "you caught him cheating on you and ended the relationship, that was a very brave thing to do", Penelope nodded her head and said, "I don't even know why I was in the relationship with him, I cared about Kevin but I never loved him, my heart now and forever belongs to Derek".
Desi said, "and his belongs to you, it always has Penelope", Penelope looked at Desi and said, "always has?", the Morgan women grinned and nodded their heads yes, Fran said, "my son isn't a good liar and I can read him like a book soooo when all he can talk about is his baby girl did this or his baby girl said that, wellllllll this old woman can read between the lines", Sarah said, "that she can, that she can".
Desi said, "I've never seen my brother as happy as when he's with you, he's always smiling, it's like he's so happy that he's practically glowing", Sarah said, "being in love with you agrees with him, thank you Penelope, thank you for loving our brother", Penelope said, "I don't know what I would do without your brother and I don't know what I'll do if this baby isn't his".
Fran patted Penelope on the hand and said, "don't worry sweetie, he will be, he will be", Penelope blushed and said, "uhhhh how much did Dave actually tell you?", Fran grinned at the younger woman and said, "ohhhhh he told me everything so I know all I need to know honey, let's just say that", Penelope buried her face in her hands and said, "just kill me now".
Sarah, Desi and Fran all laughed and Desi said, "no can do Penelope because you're carrying the next generation of Morgan's inside you", Penelope said, "but what if I'm not", Desi said, "you are", Penelope blew out a deep breath and said, "when I am further along I want to take a test to see who the father is, I don't think I'll be able to wait till the baby is born to know for sure".
Fran said, "sooooo does t his mean that you've decided to have the baby?", she bit down on her bottom lip and said, "it does", the woman all four smiled, Sarah said, "sooooo what's on your agenda for the day?", Penelope said, "nothing really, I was just checking out baby stuff online to see what I'm gonna need".
Desi siad, "ohhhhhhhh, can we continue doing that, I just love looking at baby stuff", Penelope nodded her head yes as the Morgan women joined her on the couch, Fran pulled out a pad of paper and pen from her purse and started writing down everything that Penelope said that she would like to have, because she had no doubts that Penelope was carrying her grandchlid and her grandbaby deserved the best and would have the best, no matter what she was going to spoil it rotten.
