"This is Angela Chen reporting for Metropolis News Five with breaking news. Following the Daily Planet's article on Lex Luthor's vile deeds, Lex himself has invaded the White House. The details are still pouring in but somehow Lex overpowered local troops and began an attack with a robot army. Last we heard Lex entered the White House and-
The screen goes black for a moment. It quickly comes back on, but not with Angela. The screen shows Lex Luthor sitting at the desk inside the oval office.
"My fellow American's. Do not fear. Everything I do, I do for your benefit. America has been hit hard over the past few years, that much is true. But the threat is no longer a foreign invading nation. The threat has become intergalactic. I know a lot has been said about me recently. Maybe a quarter of it is true. But now is the time for strong leadership. Some concessions in freedom will have to be made in order for me to ensure your security. But with my leadership, I promise to not just America's security, but that of the entire world. Now return to your homes and wait for further instructions. Thank you and good night."
"SHAZAM!" Billy yells on his knees.
"SHAZAM!" He yells again.
But it is no use. Dr. Sivana has done it. He has stripped both Billy Batson and Freddy Friedman of their powers. He has trapped the powers in the wizard's staff. Hoping to study it further and get the power for himself. Dr. Sivana walks towards Billy and Freddy, with the intention to kill them. Just before he reaches them their step sister, Mary, flies down. Mary still has her powers.
"Stay away from them." Mary warns.
"Don't test me child." Dr. Sivana says.
Mary picks up he step brothers and flies off.
In San Francisco, Slade and Terra stand a top the Titan's tower. They had ran Cyborg, Beast Boy, and Raven into hiding. The Dark Archer in Star City, secretly Malcolm Merlin, had done to same thing to Green Arrow and Black Canary. The heroes were falling one by one.
The Flash still had his hands full with the rouges. To make matters worse, Iris's brother, Wally West, had been struck by lightning and was now in a coma. Dick Grayson was now dressing as Batman to pull off the guise that Batman was fine following his attack at the hands of Bane. But he had his hands full with crime in Gotham. Miss Martian dedicated her time to trying to reconstruct her Uncle J'onn's mind. A mind that Lex had split apart repelling a psychic blast.
Aquaman, Green Lantern, and Wonder Woman met in the leagues secret hide out. Inside the mountain in Happy Harbor, Rhode Island.
"How could this happen so quickly?" Wonder Woman asks.
"Lex must have had this planned out for years." Green Lantern says.
"Then it's time we take the fight to him." Wonder Woman says.
"It is, but we must be smart about this." Aquaman says.
"I say Arthur and I go in first, while you stay back." Green Lantern says.
"You don't think I can hold my own in battle?" Wonder Woman snaps.
"Just the opposite. You're the strongest of us. If Lex takes us out, it'll be up to you." Green Lantern says.
"How do you think he'd attack us?" Aquaman asks.
"That's just it, I don't know. But the man took down a battalion of U.S. troops, so surly he has something planned for us." Green Lantern says.
"We best get moving, we don't have time to lose." Wonder Woman says.
Green Lantern and Aquaman make their way to Washington. They arrive at the White House. It is swarming with Lex's robot army. Aquaman and Green Lantern fight their way through the robots. To their surprise, it is actually rather easy. They blast their way through and into the White House. After dealing with a few more bots inside, they make their way to the oval office. Lex sits inside the office, alone.
"Welcome." Lex says.
"Enough games Luthor." Aquaman says.
"This is no game." Lex says.
"Luthor give up!" Green Lantern shouts, pointing his ring in Lex's direction.
"I didn't get this far in life by giving up." Lex says.
Lex turns his attention to Aquaman.
"I have something for you." Lex says.
Aquaman cocks his head to the side, unsure what Lex is referring to.
"Let me introduce you to project Tempest." Lex says.
Lex hits a button, and a door opens up. Out of it walks a being. A being that Aquaman knows. Someone he had been searching years for.
"Garth!" Aquaman reacts.
It was the Atlantean Garth. He disappeared some years earlier when Ocean Master constructed his kidnapping. It was Lex who kidnapped him, and experimented on him. Aquaman had been searching for him ever since.
"Garth, what has he done to you?" Aquaman asks.
Garth had wires running through his head. He didn't respond, he just charged forward and attacked Aquaman.
"I will not fight you, Garth." Aquaman says.
"Then you will die." Garth responds.
Garth grabs Aquaman and chucks him through the window, out on to the White House lawn.
"Luthor!" Green Lantern yells.
He aims his power ring at Lex and blasts a bolt of green energy. Just before it hits Lex, a beam of orange energy appears in front of him. Lex reveals a ring on his finger. An orange lantern ring.
"You'll never believe what this cost me." Lex says.
Lex's suit morphs into that of an Orange Lantern. He shoots a beam of orange energy from his ring towards Green Lantern. The Green Lantern blocks the shot. Lex uses his ring to fly out the window. Green Lantern follows him. The two hover above the White House. Green Lantern looks down, trying to locate Aquaman and Garth, but doesn't see them.
"Give it up Lex, you can't win." Green Lantern says.
"Not the way I see it." Lex says.
Lex creates an orange construct in the shape of a locomotive and hurls it towards Green Lantern. Lantern creates a buffer construct to block it. The two constructs shatter on impact.
The battle on the ground continues between Aquaman and Garth. Garth strikes at Aquaman, but Aquaman is able to block.
"Garth, stop this, please." Aquaman pleads.
"You gave up on me." Garth says.
"No, I never stopped looking for you. It's Luthor, he's twisted your mind." Aquaman says.
Garth strikes again and again as Aquaman defends. Lex had given Garth all sorts of enhancements, he was so strong. As Aquaman continues backing away on defense, Garth is suddenly blasted away by a trail of water. Aquaman looks over and sees Kadur'ahm, Aqualad.
"Apologies my king, but I felt I should intervene." Aqualad says.
"No apologies necessary." Aquaman says.
Garth rises back to his feet.
"So this is who you have replaced me with?" Garth reacts.
"Garth, please stop, we are friends." Aqualad says.
"YAH!" Garth yells as he pushes forward to attack Aqualad.
Aquaman watches on, he has seen enough. It is time for him to unleash his full power. His eyes begin to glow and beneath, the ground begins to shake. The pipes rip up from every direction. Water erupts from them blasting Garth back, knocking him out.
Aquaman drops to him knees. Aqualad approaches him.
"My king, Green Lantern needs your help." Aqualad says.
Aquaman looks on in the distance. He can see orange and green beams glowing in the sky.
"My first duty is to my people. We need to get Garth back to Atlantis." Aquaman says.
"But my king-
"That is an order." Aquaman commands.
"Yes my king." Aqualad says.
Aquaman radios to Wonder Woman.
"It's time for you to come in." He says.
The battle between John Stewart, the Green Lantern, and Lex Luthor, the Orange Lantern continues in the sky. The beams of orange and green light up the sky as the sun begins to go down. John creates a shotgun construct with his ring, and begins blasting at Lex. Lex constructs an orange shield to block.
"How pedestrian." Lex yawns.
Green Lantern pulls his rings back and reaches high in the sky. He charges up for one more blast. Lex sees this and begins charging his ring up as well. The two blast a shot of pure energy at one another. John's powered by will, Lex's powered by greed. The two bolts meet in the middle in a stalemate. The ball of energy between them grows bigger and bigger. But neither man will give in.
Suddenly, Green Lantern starts to see yellow, and begins to lose his focus. This had been happening to him several times over the past few months. Eventually, his will gives out and his is hit with the beam of energy. Green Lantern is smacked into the ground, creating a crater. He groans as everything goes blurry. He looks up for a moment and sees a being flying towards him. At first he thinks it's Lex. But as the being gets closer, he isn't wearing an orange lantern uniform, he's wearing a yellow one.
It was Sinestro. A former Green Lantern and now sworn enemy of the corps. He disarms John, by removing his green lantern ring. Lex flies down as well.
"Your plan worked Luthor." Sinestro says.
"Of course it did." Lex says.
"What will you do with him now?" Lex then asks.
"He will be taken back to Qward and face trial for his crimes as a green lantern." Sinestro says.
"He's all yours." Lex says.
"Aren't you forgetting the other part of our deal?" Sinestro asks.
"Very well." Lex says.
Lex removes the orange lantern ring from his hand and gives it to Sinestro.
"Now leave this world and never come back." Lex says.
"I don't have to. There's nothing left here I need." Sinestro says.
Sinestro creates a yellow construct of a ball from his lantern ring and traps John inside. He then flies off with him.
Lex looks around and admires his work. He had taken out the Justice League and begun his conquest. He looked up to the sky as the moon was coming up. But he saw something else. A figure jumping right at him. The figure gets close and he sees that it is Wonder Woman.
"Luthor, it's time we finish this." Wonder Woman says.
