The sky around Togetic's wings darkened; she headed in the right direction. The bottomless sea only a short ways below her didn't have any sunlight reflecting off of its rough, rumbling surface. The waves rippled towards the opposite direction, and grew more violent with each passing minute.

Despite the rough waves, her flight path remained a straight line that led to the shoreline. The enemy surrounded itself in a storm. She had to be ready.

The murky gray sky flashed with lightning every so often, serving as one of the few sources of light over the dark, open sea. Morgan didn't waver. Even if it hit her, she'd keep flying. If she focused hard enough, she might not even feel it.

"In the Bygone Days, it was a spiritual guide for the Pokemon of the world. It beckoned for strength in relationships between different places."

Morgan detected a dark, towering wall forming up ahead, as if some kind of reply to her memories welling back up. The water below her was arching upwards, forming a tsunami whose peak loomed high above her. She'd fly over it, but the winds would make that difficult.

"It resided in a strange, beautiful cave where hurt Pokemon would be awakened, and find inner peace."

Determined, Togetic Morgan increased her speed to face the wave head-on. She surrounded her body in gold, flaming energy and dove into the wave with her deep blue eyes wide open.

The water weighed down on Morgan's body, threatening to send her swirling in random directions. A stinging sensation invaded her lungs. Each prick of cold water felt like a rock on her wings, but she didn't budge. She'd either make it through or drown.

Morgan thought it'd be longer, but she burst out the other side and into open air. She took a deep breath and slowed her pace down to recover. She followed up by spinning in the air, flinging the water that covered her back into the ocean and then continued forward.

Morgan didn't succumb to relief until she reached the shore. The pure white stand of the beach and dense forest beyond tempted her to take a breather from the trip, but she knew she didn't need one.

To the right of the beach, a cave on the ocean surface led underneath a cliff, like a tunnel. Rock pointed down to the water like icicles at the cave mouth. They turned into small spines further in. Togetic Morgan floated down in the gentle sea breeze to the top of the sea water path leading inside. Her toes hung a hair above the water. Her wings sent ripples on the water.

The waterfall for which she searched laid ahead. A wall of mist erupted at its base and extended cold droplets of water all the way to her body. She drew closer.

"It's seclusion became its downfall. It hid and detached itself from the world and thought only of its own justice. During the end, it stalked and killed from the water."

Morgan's eyes snapped to the center of the waterfall. It was there.

"It was eventually lost to madness. Your parents faced it valiantly, like with all of their opponents."

Golden bells lit up on the surface of the stalagmites hanging from above. A monotonous melody filled the cave.

Ripples began to appear under Morgan's feet and sprinkle her with water, and wind blew from the waterfall's direction. From behind the waterfall, a silhouette appeared, one with a long shadow, two outstretched limbs, the neck of a swan, and a lizard's tail.

She needed more distance. Morgan started to back away. A huge gale erupted from the waterfall before she could make progress. She braced and closed her eyes.

The gusts flung her out of the cave. Rocks cracked and fell into the water.. The cacophony of noise drowned out her own small whimpers and cries to the point where she couldn't hear anything else. She lost her sense of direction spinning about and decided to huddle into a ball until the winds died down.

When Morgan opened her eyes, she was upside down and looking at the cave from above. She held the end of a stalactite for dear life without realizing she had caught anything. As she gazed down, a long shadow lurked in the water from inside of the cave. Morgan let go as the rock dropped out of her arms and turned herself upright.

The long shadow glowed with white light.

Togetic Morgan recognized Sky Attack. She charged down with Double-Edge, and gravity on her side. Water exploded into the air as the pokemon surfaced.

Morgan aimed for Lugia's deep blue mask to finish it in one hit. As the heat from its fierce flying type energy grew, she hesitated.

Morgan realized the difference in power too late. The attack blasted her off to the side while Lugia flew up to the sky. Morgan flapped her wings to get herself stable, then flew up to face it once more.

Lugia flew higher in the sky. Red veins ran along the length of its body and outstretched wings. The light from them mixed with the red hue from its eyes.

White specks of leftover energy from the attack fell like snow. They whirled into a blizzard. Lugia screeched and let loose a small tornado from its mouth. Spiraling winds yanked Morgan back before she could fly away. The winds slashed her wings and cut at her skin. The resistance stopped her from stretching out her wings, so she tensed and braced instead.

Morgan crashed through something soft, then collided with the ground below, marking the end of the single attack. As feeling returned to her body, she recognized her whole side stung, scraped up from the collision. Combined with the cuts, every little move sent stinging pain through her. It wasn't enough to stop her, but motion after motion became agonizing and annoying. It took a lot of effort to pick herself up.

A gentle ray of light shined down on her. It seeped through the hole she made falling down in the thick green canopy above her. Morgan shook off the dirt on her body and looked around the dark forest floor around her.

A loud, wretched screech fell from the sky.

Morgan willed herself up to her feet. She ran away from the screech on foot. Her beat-up wings helped keep her steps light, quick, and quiet. Togetic Morgan kept her attentioned trained up toward the sky, ready to jump to the side and hide in hopes Lugia wouldn't see her.

Another screech erupted out, followed by another gust of wind tearing at the canopy above her. A tree near where she landed blew up into splinters. As Lugia landed on the ground near her, Morgan took cover behind a tree.

Lugia's massive stature caused it to send a few trees it landed on crashing down. It bent its long neck down and studied the dent in the ground Morgan had left from her fall. It glared in different directions. Its head moved like a snake as it took a few steps in a small circle.

Satisfied with nothing, Lugia let out a small hiss and flew back up to the sky. Morgan stayed put for a few minutes until she heard its cry again, from much farther away. She pushed off of the tree and stepped forward.

She fell face first on the ground. Her injuries were worse than she expected. There was nobody to heal her, bring her home, to come to her aid. She knew that there were no safety nets coming here, but almost didn't expect it to actually happen, at least, like this.

Just as she began to pass out, she heard a voice.

"Someone else...?"

"Holy crap... You're alive! Oh my gosh, "it huffed, "okay okay... I got this... I got this..."
